“Never a normal night in Suna.” This thought rang through Yasu’s conscious as he looked into the night’s sky polluted by the orange haze of destruction. The non shinobi rushing out in waves chaotically, “Still this amount of people isn’t quite right.” He noticed headbands on youngsters that were leading these waves, yet despite this the traffick was noticeably less dense than it normally was at the Gran Bazaar His eyes focused a little as he attempted to take in the scenery. Flames filled the street melting sand, and buildings, and from the sound of it people. The smell of chaos filled his nose. “How unaesthetic.” Ogre stood just in front of him completely motionless, a boulder parting the river of people. The large puppet held three barrels, one in each arm and a third on its back. Making Ogre sit down the two barrels it held, and his two bulky arms reach back to the barrel behind it and throws it high into the air. Yasu simply sighed as he rapidly flashed through hand seals. “Hmm."  As he finished the jutsu, Ogre’s massive form leapt to one of the buildings on fire. The pure heat from it burning the unflinching giant’s feet. The barrel would fall through the sheet of smoke that began filling the sky, smashing against Ogre’s body. “Suiton: Heavy Breathing!” The water barely had a chance to drip off of him before it began evaporating.

Plumes of cool steam rapidly poured from Ogre as there was a slight crack in the roof as Ogre launched off of it shrouded in and trailed by steam. Approximately halfway through his jump a mercenary most likely working for the arsonists who assaulted this place was slung through the air, and instead of his trajectory ending in a collision with Ogre, an ever so slight mote of chakra surrounded Ogre's hand as he spiked him into an alleyway across the street. Yasubei not far behind his puppet turned his head to look down the alleyway and the Ronin rapidly going through hand seals. "Stupid steam cloud thing. Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" As the two continued into the village the massive ball of flame made its way to Ogre.

"This is the legendary jutsu: Ogre style: Backhand technique!" Yasu yelled at the top of his lungs. As Ogre slid on the roof of the building and rotating like a top inside of the ever growing cloud of steam which broke for just long enough for everyone in the area to see his massive form, mid-spin, swat the fireball up through the plumes of smoke that choked out the sky. Not stopping either of their momentum jumped off of the roof he was currently on and into the glass of the building, and as Yasubei followed he threw a handful if shuriken  just enough to distract the ronin a bit more as he kept pace with Ogre through the other side of the building. As they ran through the the building Ogre's trail of steam lingered over some of the flames. Though this was a relatively minute amount every single bit of effort mattered. The flames in this building, and the next, and the building after that would slowly putter out, but his jutsu wouldn't last forever and eventually new flames would rise up and take their place. As they traveled through the buildings they encountered no people it seemed as if all of the screams were coming from people outside running for their lives. Most buildings that held worth while goods seemed to have been looted long before Yasu and Ogre got to them.

Yasu passed through dozens of buildings, and slowly he began making his way into the Grand Bazaar. There were going to be so many deaths today, and while Yasu didn't especially care about the people of this village, he cared for the village itself. If it were one or two ninja here or there dead he couldn't care less, but the idea that these people came into his home and were burning down one of the most aesthetic testaments to this country's strength ate Yasu up. On top of everything else he couldn't see the big picture. Why attack Suna, this was a time of piece and there was nothing to gain here. If this was a show of force why did every mercenary have a different get up. Why this disorganized chaos. A group of this many ninjas, with this much power, striking this suddenly could have seized all of Suna by now, yet the chaos continued. Sounds of explosions which were once dim were now cacophonous. The screams that periodically rang out were now ubiquitous. What were they trying to prove?

Lost in his thoughts he heard the sound of a scream from within the next building over, and since it was the closest scream he had heard in a while he had to investigate. Now that he had come to a stop, it was obvious that this building was different than the rest the building had a little meat shop in it with a hole in its rearmost wall exposing what must have been a freezer at sometime. All that remained were charred meats and a little rubble. And a once hidden room. The room was relatively simple having no real decorations The iron trapdoor in the middle of the room showed the primary function of this space. After a boulder had fallen nearby it had warped the door frame causing it to jut open partially and the sounds of panic Yasu heard indicated to him that smoke was probably beginning to pour inside of the once sealed chamber beneath. Ogre jumped into the room followed immediately by Yasu. Together they managed to removed the door, and almost immediately a dozen and a half men with scars and burns came out pointing wakazashis, knives, katanas, and an array of other weapons at Ogre and Yasu. Yasu's brain remembered the Suna mission board that he pulled his gathering missions from at night and if memory served correctly about half of these men had bounties on their head for charges such as blackmailing, bribing public officials, and trafficking. Then Yasu caught a glimpse of the forty women and children that came up after them. "No where in the village is safe. We need to evacuate."

Yasu stood silent as the group in front of him rummaged through the silence looking for a simple solution. They, as soon as they got out and actually heard the commotion that had been happening outside, acknowledged that they had drastically underestimated the amount violence that was going to befall the village. Not knowing the full state of events they conversed among each other for a time. Yasu stood silent watching as they debated the merit of following the two before them. Numerous points such as “Why would a Suna-nin actually help people like us,” and “If he’s been outside he must know of a safe path.” Balanced the arguments to a stalemate before, frustadely they decided there was no more time to argue, and they made there decisions. Roughly a fifth of them decided to go with Yasu and Ogre, these were notably people with small bounties that probably had only commited relatively minor crimes against Suna. Most of the them decided they would be better off braving the inferno without this unknown ninja’s interference. For all they know he was one of the invaders or would be a liability when faced with them. A misfortunate few would make the mistaking of waiting it out in the now exposed bunker. Yasubei would save who he could. It wasn’t his place to make their decisions for them.

Yasubei would wait for those who were coming with them to gather what they could easily carry from down below, while some of them may have been characterized by there potent greed in the descriptions of their bounties, in this moment Yasu saw none of that. As their families were faced with such danger few brought more than enough money to start their lives over somewhere else. The vast majority of the goods they brought were practical objects. They had waited for too long though. Yasu could hear the fights intensifying as the night progressed, and there was no noticable end in sight. He took to the rooftps to get a better view of the layout, and had Ogre lead the people below from the ground. There were no stars to lead him and no moon to light his path, only smoke and fire and screams guiding him away from trouble. As the group neared the exit they were joined by a flow of people larger than what Yasu had witnessed coming in, and these people were being guided by groups of ninja from academy students to a few chūnin, all weary from the fire and dry heat. Yasu and his group, escaping the inferno, would follow them into the night until they reached one of Auna’s designated safehouses hours later.
