Zeref had just picked up his net, fishing rod, and bait from the stall owner, and examined them closely. It was easy to tell that the net, and rod were not going to be able to handle the weight of the fish, making them almost useless. Zeref walked to the waters edge and looked in at the fish forming a plan in his head. The rules were simple, catch two fish by any means as long as no harm was done to the fish, seemed easy enough. Zeref placed the pool and bait down on the ground holding just the net. Closing his eyes he started to flow charka into the net using the Item Reinforcing Technique. Although it wouldn't make the net unbeatable it should last long enough to get the fish onto land, and to the shop owner. Most games were rigged against the player, the weak net and rod were proof of that, Zeref was not against using his knowledge to sway the odds in his favor.
Zeref waited until there was a fish near the dock he was standing and quickly tossed the net into the water, around the fish and snared it. The fish struggled against the reenforced net, but despite it's power and weight, it could not break through. Zeref planted his feet hard on the dock and started to pulled the net up while fighting the thrashing fish, it took a bit of work but he was finally able to pull the fish up to onto land. Zeref jumped ontop of the fish before it could hop back into the water and hugged it to his body. Standing up Zeref headed over to the owner taking a couple whacks to the face. "Heh, nice trick kid." The owner weighed the fish, and gave Zeref a nod. "That's one boy-o lets see ya do it again, they wont fall for the same trick twice." Zeref watched as the owner tossed the fish back into to the dark waters. "We will see wont we." Zeref walked back over towards the water to get his second fish.
Zeref decided to listen to the owner and placed the net back to the ground picking up the rod and bait. Just cause he could not catch it again with a net, did not mean a simple jutsu or two wouldn't do the trick. First Zeref used the the Reinforcing Technique again, this time on the rod itself. After he felt that the rod was at a good enough strength that it could hold the weight, he went to work on the line itself. Using the same jutsu a third time, he reinforced the line just like he did the rod. Zeref was about to toss the line in when he got an idea.
Zeref created a shadow clone using the doppelganger Technique, the clone picked up the net and stood by the real Zeref. The real Zeref hooked some bait onto the end of the line and dropped it into the water. A few minutes passed and he got a bait as the line went tight Zeref yanked it back setting the hook. It was a battle now, Zeref would pull the fish in a little, but then would have to let some of the line out in fear of it breaking. This went on for about five minutes until Zeref was able to get the fish close to the dock. The clone tossed the net into and around the fish to help the real Zeref pull it up the last little way. The two together were able to bring the fish onto the dock, without much of a battle, the fish was tired and there were two of them. The clone straddled the fish holding it in place as the real Zeref undid the hook from the fish making sure not to cause damage to the creature.
The real Zeref and the cloned carried the fish towards the stall, making sure not to take a fin to the face this time. They held up the fish and placed it on the counter for the owner. Zeref smirked and gave his clone a fist bump, with a poof, the clone was gone no longer needed. Zeref crossed his arms watching the owner weigh the fish on the scales, before using a tape to measure it. Once both tasks were done the owner jotted something down in the book, most likely the numbers, before looking at Zeref. "Good job kid, I like your style!" He chuckled, a throaty chuckle. "Thought you would jump right in to be honest, way to use your head." The owner handed Zeref a few tickets. "Here are your tickets, collect enough of them and you can get some cool prizes." Zeref smiled and took the tickets putting them with the others he has. "Thanks, maybe I'll come back and take all of the ones you have." Zeref turned and headed back into the festival grounds.
