Tsuchigumo

The competitors are dropped into a seemingly bottomless pit, freefalling until they fall into, and find themselves stuck in a network of giant spider webs. As competitors begin freeing themselves, an enormous, and unusually colorful Tsuchigumo yokai will descend upon the webs and begin devouring competitors unfortunate enough to cross its path. The only vulnerable part of the Tsuchigumo’s body is the abdomen which may be broken or slashed open, causing a stream of candies and sweets to flow forth. Revealing itself to have been a constructed piñata all along, the Tsuchigumo will no longer operate once its candy has been spilt. Once the candy spider has been defeated, competitors may attain victory by climbing the webs to escape the pit.

Hanbei was led into a tent of somekind with a circle of yokai and other people around herself and a group of about nine other people that had been selected for the trial, standing in the middle a presenter seemed to announce to the crowd the commencing of this particular trial. Though many of the details had been mysteriously omitted, chatter and whispers seemed to circulate through the group as Hanbei was left in wonder. Until it was about time to begin, the lights went out, and the entire crowd hushed in anticipation. Until finally, there was the cranking of a lever, and the ground beneath all of them suddenly vanished, leaving them all to free-fall down a pit of unknown size and origin, the surprize causing even Hanbei to temporarily black out for a moment, stunned in shock as she and the others would fall...

Hanbei would awaken falling down what seemed to be a never ending pit, looking down the first thing that would come to her mind was objective terror and surprise. Though, looking around and seeing others a tad more prepared would put her mind at ease. Looking down, hanbei would immediately begin to perform a series of hand-seals before emitting the two long wings of chakra needles from either side of her back imbued with raiton so that she may light up the area. Expanding them broadly to slow her fall like a parachute. Angling her fall towards the wall so that Hanbei would slowly but surely grind to a halt. Within moments Hanbei would realize that the walls seemed to be coated in some kind of white sticky solution, a thread or something of the like before realizing just exactly where they were and what they were dealing with. Looking down at the others, there were near a dozen other people that seemed to be caught in expansive webs that stretched along the cavern... and one immediate thought came to mind...

Simply vanishing with the help of the body flicker technique she would appear a meter before the exit, propelled up and through the hole seconds before the first ninja made their way out. Jumping to the top, Hanbei would retract the wings and be welcomed, receiving pats on the back for his bravery and for the look of horror on his face that seemed to have been captured by cameras and sold to him on the street. But also, a hand-full of tickets was also passed into his hands.

She'd won. a feeling of pride would well up inside the ninja before she would explode with a triumphant cry and thrusting her prize into the air as others let out a similar one. Pulled to a side Hanbei would be asked by a couple of the spirits around him not to tell others about this challenge, the surprise being so much of the fun and they'd hoped that they would be able to do it again to a couple more non suspecting mortals. Smiling in turn hanbei would promise not to ruin the fun for anyone. Moving along the line she would look to go to the next of the fun events, the organizer, a large napirabo would look down at hanbei, asking if she would like another challenge. Nodding with anticipation, she was taken into a back-room and seated to await the next trial.
