1Letter with a Mission [Private] Empty Letter with a Mission [Private] Thu Aug 31, 2017 6:40 pm

Maigo

Maigo

D-rank
Whatever was the responsibility of a jounin to their village anyways? To take on students on raise up the next class of capable fools willing to head into battle and risk their lives? Or maybe a jounin's primary responsibility should be to run head first into battle and risk their own lives? It didn't matter, Maigo had done and would be doing both going forward, he was far too young to consider anything else and get a realistic chance to walk away from the life he'd chosen. Part of that obligation he held within the village became a problem, his recent endeavors in Kumogakure no Sato were leaving him unavailable for taking on a squad of genin. He was no ANBU, not a hunter ninja either, his 'assignment' was mostly done but he found an interesting chance to put his first squad to the test.

He sat down at the desk and began to write an interesting letter, one to the village and then another three that would each go to his squad members when they arrived. The details of his letter to the village would be as such, that Maigo Mugetsu would be applying to become a genin team leader. With that, whatever three students should meet together and be told their first assignment, first mission, and first test from their sensei would be this: To enter into Kumogakure no Sato under complete disguise, infiltrate the village and find Maigo without alerting him to their presence. In addition to that, they would have one week from the time they were sat down and told their objective. The letter they would get would contain a dossier detailing the information to start the mission, information fed by Maigo to them.

Every bit of it would be a test start to finish and in every conceivable facet. As far as his squad would be concerned, this was a very serious mission, in fact, Maigo would have the information with held from them that he would end up as their sensei when all was said and done. It might seem excessive, but they were members of Kirigakure no Sato, they would be formed under Maigo to be the best, trained killers and experts in every field they could grasp. Well, at least in time they would be, if they weren't already.

So the letters and information sent off into the world, the individual letters would read as such, each in a very formal handwriting:

You have been chosen to undertake a mission with those around you, your goal is to find the individual detailed in the packet attached and ask him to return to the village at once. You will be entering into territory of a recent enemy therefore discretion is absolute, you must not be caught, and you must not have your presence recognized until you find your target alone.

Time is of the essence so you will have one week from when you're dismissed to see through your mission. Good luck,

The letters and packets would probably be delivered to them in some boring classroom of the administration building by an even more boring and generic member of the administration. Still, the dossier would get interesting, it would include some details of Maigo himself, would detail his full name: Maigo Mugetsu; it would falsify his height and claim he was only 6' 1"; his weight would be listed around 210 lbs; it would detail some of his mission history and his abilities, labeling him a bit of an idiot who often got in trouble around the other sex but also a master of genjutsu all the same.

It would continue on with a loose and vague physical description of himself as he was last seen in the village but otherwise, unassuming information they would have to sort through to be true or not on their own. Truthfully, they'd have had a better time with pretty much any other teacher but Maigo was always a fan of the theatrics of everything. Besides, it would be a good test for them, and with that, he rolled up the papers into a roll on a hawk's back and sent it forwards to Kirigakure no Sato. They'd have a short time to travel quickly afterwards in search of Maigo, if they would accept the mission and the dangers that came with it.
