Mission description: You've been assigned night patrol along with several other genin, chunin, and even a few special jounin, your job is to roam the you've been given along with your assigned squad, or even alone if you're assigned that way, and just make sure the village remains safe. As a D-rank mission your job is to report any serious threats before attempting to engage in them.
Mission details: It's pretty normal and safe, maybe the occasional weird thing to happen.

Another day, another mission, but this time the mission assigned to Kiriya needed to be carried out in the night. The letter that he received didn’t have a lot of information about the mission he was assigned to. Only the bare minimum, patrol the village through the night, if anything suspicious happens report it to the special jounin in the area. That was the first one he was assigned to which had to be done through the night. Usually the missions that he was assigned to were carried out through the first part of the day. The last mission that he had completed was with Raiu Mizuki. That day the mission for them ended barely before sun fall.

This meant that he could have the better part of the day for himself. He decided to train for the time before the mission. The mission itself didn’t require a lot. It was a simple night patrol. Justifying his decision to train he went out of his house.

He finished training a few hours before he had to go patrolling. As he came home he started packing the necessary items in his backpack. The things that he took were: one kunai, three shuriken and his trusty wakizashi. When he finished packing he went to his mother and told her about his mission. After that he left his house, heading toward the meeting point.

When Kiriya arrived there he saw the other people that were supposed to patrol with him. There were several genin, three chunin and two special jounin. They were all assigned to a squad patrol and only Kiriya was left to patrol alone. Not that that would even bother him the slightest. Kiriya worked better alone but he knew that teamwork was a valuable skill that he needed to have. But the time for teamwork was not now.

The district he needed to patrol was the market one. He had gone there several times, that was the place where his mother’s favorite tea shop was located. During the day one could usually see a group of thugs hanging around it. But as Kiriya passed through the first several shops he noticed that nobody was around. The night was lighted by the full moon and even the dark areas between the shops weren’t so dark. If someone was hiding there he would definitely see him.

As he continued walking through the market district, Kiriya suddenly heard a loud noise. The noise was coming from the back of a shop. Kiriya remembered that if something suspicious had happened he had to report it to his superior. But instead of doing that he decided to investigate it. The place where the sound came from was approximately fifteen meters from him. As he came closer and closer to the shop there suddenly was another loud sound. It came from the same direction. Kiriya used the body flicker technique to cover the distance fast and silent. As he was leaning to look from the corner of the shop, he saw what was going on at the back of it. There were two or three cats that were fighting. By their side there was a trash-can that was lying on the ground. The two loud sounds that he heard were made from the falling trash-can. The cats immediately saw him and ran off to different directions.

Aside from seeing the fighting cats nothing interesting happened through the rest of the night. He continued walking and patrolling through the market district, but the night was quiet. He was alone with his mind. Kiriya wasn’t used to seeing this particular place of the village so empty. The times when he came here there were people all over the place, some of them were merchants other were regular villagers. At those moments life was blooming here. As he continued to walk, his mind switched to another thing. He was thinking about how to become stronger and on what aspects of the training to highlight. Kiriya was eager to learn new jutsus and how to use the effectively. On the other hand, he also needed to train the basic aspects which consisted of strength, speed, and endurance.

The rest of the night was full of his thoughts about how to improve his skills. The rising of the sun was an indicator which showed that his mission had ended. Kiriya went to the meeting point and handed his report for the night, although there was nothing interesting in it.

The next thing that he did was to go back to his house. He entered through the back door, went to his room and fell asleep on the bed.
