A bright glimmer reflected off the polished Kirigakure forehead protector of the talented shinobi, Seito. His independence, decision-making and intuition are traits that have enabled him to excel in his profession as a specialized shinobi. However, a set of interesting challenges has come before him. Seito is a unique shinobi with a wide array of talents and skills ranging from his signature genjutsu to traditional ninjutsu and innovative bukijutsu; he has been placed as team lead on a two-cell squad. At the pier, Seito had his elbow over a boat while pressing his back for support. A cigarette with a mellow taste could be found in his mouth and he patiently waited for his new partner. Seito was unsure of the relationship that he was going to have with this genin, in fact, he knew very little about him. The Hattori was given brief biographical information about the genin that he was supposed to lead on this mission.

Interestingly, the Hattori was not initially impressed by the Kaguya that would be joining him on his mission. Seito believed that the mission called for more experienced shinobi that would not require oversight, especially considering the high potential for combat. Seito's appeal for a new team was granted on the grounds on availability but primarily the fact that the administration had a sense that Seito and this genin would pair up nicely. Apparently, the administration sees parallels between the two shinobi. Nothing personal, but Seito did not see the connections, the primary reason being that he did not know this person. Most of his shinobi equipment was covered by his light blue jacket that camouflaged him with the natural mist of Kirigakure. However, his clan tanto hidden in the white sheath was revealing of his prowess with weaponry, while it was not the most impressive or intricate of weapons it still showed that he was capable, confident and competent with a blade.

The aloof shinobi had a rather blank expression on his face as the wind would carry the smoke past his face with each exhale. Burning natural tobacco has a distinct, harsh and potent smell but would never seem to leech onto Seito as it did others. Perhaps it was due to the lotion he would apply. Of course, every mission needs a briefing, he took his time to carefully choose the words that he would say to this Kaguya. He did not want to seem like an over-protective leader but also did not want to come across as dismissive or distant. Leaving the cigarette in his mouth, the shinobi pulled out a flask of Kirigakure's signature spiced liquor and took a swig before he could see a figure that appeared to be the young Kaguya walk closer towards him. 'Well, let's get on with the show.' He thought as the attitude of the shinobi rolled through his mind, 'mission first, mission first.' He was hoping that the Kaguya knew what he was getting himself into, but at the same time it was not his fault. As far as Seito knew, Jiroubou did not volunteer for this mission. Closing the flask and placing it back in the inside of his jacket he waited for the shinobi to approach. Seito was not a cold man, he simply was not fond of being hindered...anchored.

"Kaguya Jiroubou..." He said with a short pause to exhale the smoke from his nostrils. "It appears you are with me. I am Hattori Seito. My mission is to make sure that these builders do not die. You are not a builder." He said with a tone that could help Jiroubou infer what he truly meant. It would be ideal for Seito to be able to bring Jiroubou back but what seemed to be more important was to come back with a successful mission. Seito brought the butt of his cigarette to his mouth and spit on it to kill the ember then placed it back it the box that it came from. Seito is not a fan of littering, even in the smallest sense. Giving Jiroubou even time to process his words, he finished with, "Do you know your mission?"
Simply to make sure that the two were on the same page. Seito was a bit concerned because he knew that the skill level of these bandits might prove to be a challenge to the fresh genin. It would be much better if he played a supportive role as opposed to having to get up close with taijutsu and other Kaguya capabilities. Seito was uneasy about the selections but that was beyond him at this point, he has a mission to complete. However, a relieving sense of intuition calmed Seito with a feeling that the Kaguya would do just fine.

(...The chunin would then slowly enter the boat to prepare to get to their destination.)

Jiroubou had quite a walk from his housing to the docks. He had some time to train his body and mind for the task he was going to be taking part in. The mysterious man he met some time ato had given him the tips for some neat techniques he was definitely going to learn later. Since it was going to be his first mission, Jiroubou decided he would need to dress the part. He had his clean attire on to try and make a good impression on his temporary squad mate. His bright white shirt and black slacks tied in nicely with his slate gray jacket. The neon signs from the couple of shops that remained open cast plenty of colors and shades to try and liven up his snow white hair. He marched on in militaristic faction not taking any unnecessary turns or detours to try and meet at the arranged time. Jiroubou knew he was a powerhouse and could provide much needed muscle to carry the load of the mission. He was informed about the potential strength of enemies that he would be up against but they were not aware they would be facing a Kaguya. Jiroubou intended to be unforgiving to the ones that threatened the success of the builders.

Jiroubou would arrive at the docks as the fog seemed to lighten up enough for him to see the fronts of boats that were shored up. Their cracked and algae covered bows showed how long some of these ships were sitting or how much they were being put to use. He would cross the last few docks and arrive at the pier that he was instructed to. He saw a couple of people standing near the end of the pier which he assumed one was his help for the mission. It was hard to make out much of the other shinobi as their attire blended in to the silver tinge of fog. What was most visual was the cherry red on the end of whatever they were smoking. Jiroubou could definitely smell it as he got closer. When he was finally in speaking range the man in the coat turned to speak to him.

The man spoke with a tone of sternness and objectivity. He meant business and wanted him to know that right off the bat. The man stated the mission to Jiroubou and what to him seemed like crystal clear instructions. He may be in a temporary squad with this man but he wasn't going to be the lightweight of the group. As Jiroubou thought about this Hattori's intentions, Seito made sure if Jiroubou was all there. "Protecting builders from a bunch of lunatics that think it is acceptable to target citizens of Kirigakure. That is my mission. The job will be followed as it has been explained. No need to worry yourself with me." Jiroubou stated in his straight forward and dry manner. 'Now seeing that you are the commanding shinobi of this mission, please take the first seat as we make the trip out to the island." Jiroubou would make a half bow and let Seito enter first to show some respect for the more skilled individual.

The eyebrow of the Hattori rose in skepticism as he wondered what was going through the mind of the shinobi before him. Jiroubou appeared to understand his mission but Seito hoped that Jiroubou was a tactical as needed. However, the eyebrow stuck in position as Jiroubou continued to speak. He stood frozen for only a moment, but it was noticeable. Jiroubou might feel as if he said or did something wrong. Seito thought in his mind, 'If I am the commanding officer, then why is this guy telling me what to do?' This was followed by a bow as Seito continued to think, 'What is wrong with this guy?' Seito knew that the genin did not have much experience but this was slightly odd. His mouth opened before words came out, this was because he was still trying to find the words. "Ahem...I would like for you to take point. It will make things easier for me." He said as he tried to reassert his dominance but not seem overbearing. "Also, you don't have to bow down to me or anything."

Regardless, the shinobi leapt into the lonely row boat that would not shake due to his touch. Taking his seat in the back with his eyes facing Jiroubou, he noted, "I wanted to get out earlier because it gets dark quick on this side. Just be prepared for a quick engagement." The Hattori said as his fingers gripped the oar that would be used to get boat moving, however he placed it down and looked up at the genin counterpart. "We should be on our way now." He said as he vaulted out of the boat to stand on the water. "This seems like it'll be much quicker and perhaps, more fun." His tone slightly changed to have more of a fun undertone. "Don't go too fast, don't want to pull a muscle." He said as the feet beneath him accelerated towards the island. The island where the builders were working was not too far away, if it were Seito would never consider running there as opposed to using the boat that was supplied.

It was not before long until Seito was able to see the bridge that was being built. His eyes were always peering back on Jiroubou for the safety of both shinobi. Seito quickly made it to the island where the bridge foreman informed him that the bandits would come either from the sea or from land, meaning that the two shinobi would need to split to cover and guard both sides. Seito looked at the genin and gave a quick breakdown of how the rest of the night would go. "Jiroubou, you are to cover the inland. If you see any suspicious activity you must report it to a nearby worker who will relay the message to me. I will do the same. However, if it is obvious that an attack is imminent then you must signal somehow. I know that is not helpful but I do not know your capabilities so start thinking of something now. My signal will appear as raiton flares. Find a good vantage point with cover and vision. I know you can do this. If you do not have any questions, then you can be off. Also, do not be nervous, you were chosen for this mission for a reason. Be prepared for engagement at all times."

The Hattori seemed taken back by Jiroubou's formality as he spoke. It seemed he wanted Jiroubou to take some sort of charge for himself. That wouldn't be to much of an issue as he knew how to operate. Jiroubou had been drilled many of times to show due respect and it seemed that some weren't used to it. Jiroubou straightened back up from his bow as Seito spoke. He took his hands and straightened his jacket back in neat order as Seito had gotten into the boat. He had grabbed an oar as Jiroubou was getting ready to take his spot in the boat. But then Jiroubou noticed him glance over to the island and put down the oar. Something seemed to have caught his eye or made him second guess this mode of transport. And with a fluid motion the chunin was up and starting to lead the way along the water's surface. It seemed to be a much faster way then rowing and Jiroubou was in agreement as he focused his chakra to his feet and took his steps from the edge of the pier and onto the surface of the calm lake. Seito seemed to have a change in tone as he made his comment was took off for the island. Jiroubou would be quick to follow as he moved at a steady pace for his capacity. It would be better to have a consistent pace rather then blow himself up sprinting the entire way. Luckily Seito seemed to have the knowledge of being the faster individual and kept within eye shot of him.

It wouldn't be long before the duo reached the island and Jiroubou would stop to look over the bridge that was being constructed. To him it seemed like a metal skeletal colossus reaching out to connect it with the mainland so the people living upon the island could have a much better way to reach the village then by row boat or paying for a ferry. It made him wonder why some people would go to lengths to stop what seemed like such a beneficial project. It was then that Jiroubou heard Seito and the foremen finish talking and waited for his instructions. Seito wanted him to take a post more inland in case they decided to attack from the inside and to think of some sort of signal in case they did. When he looked around he saw the spot he wanted and what he thought may be a good signal. Jiroubou would nod. "Alright I think I have an idea of how to do this. You be safe as well and may we both come out of this unscathed." Jiroubou would give a smirk and start to run towards the skeletal bridge and his vantage point.

Jiroubou would arrive at one of the scaffolding towers and start to climb. There was a platform part of the way up which would give him some cover and let him survey the immediate area. The last of the workers seemed to be picking up their tools and leaving the area. Jiroubou would lean over the edge of the platform and look out for movement around the base of the bridge supports which would seem like the most valuable targets. It wouldn't be long before he saw some suspicious movements. He kept his eyes in the direction to try and figure out how many there were. He couldn't get a clear sight until they lit something on fire and he saw two masked individuals. Now was the time to raise the alarm and call Seito over for the oncoming battle. Jiroubou grabbed a pipe and smashed it against the scaffolding three times to let out three metallic clangs in a hurried rhythm. Hopefully that would be enough to make him come investigate.

Jiroubou would then hop down from the platform and sprint towards the two assailants. He would arrive at the location and saw one of the men aiming a molotov towards the bridge. "You had better put that down and leave if you don't want to be put down yourself." Jiroubou would say as his right hand's fingers became bone in preparation for his digital shrapnel technique. Without warning the man holding the molotov threw it in Jiroubou's direction. Jiroubou retaliated by shooting two pieces of bone at the bottle causing it to break and pour flaming liquid over the nearest assailant who let out a shriek for help. And that was when Jiroubou felt something connect with the back of his head and he fell to his hands and knees.

The young chunin would only stand his post for a few moments before he would be dispatched by an impromptu siren. The siren was obvious as a call and Seito should have made himself clearer as a leader but Jiroubou made it work. Seito immediately questioned his own leadership when he allowed Jiroubou to guard the forested exterior, an ambush is much easier with the cover. This not only put Jiroubou's life in danger but more importantly, the builders. Seito made such a foolish mistake. If only Seito went to the forest. Regardless, Seito hurried over through the construction base to provide support for his comrade. Seito was only hoping that the bandits would not launch a naval charge, there were only two shinobi. Admin usually does a good job of assessing threat but Seito immediately saw weak points in his plan, he was only hoping that the bandits would not capitalize. The sound of a glass breaking, shrieks and the smell of burnt flesh quickly challenged Seito as the breeze carried the smell through his nostrils. Combat had begun; Seito hoped that Jiroubou would be fine.

"Shit!" The chunin whispered as he witnessed a bandit wack Jiroubou in the back of the head with the hilt of his weapon. He watched as the genin collapsed to his knees and appeared to be unconscious. Seito knew that he was outnumbered and needed the help of the genin, even if it were just to delay. "You will die here!" The bandit shouted as his blade was over the young genin preparing to execute the Kiri nin. Seito needed to act quick and hard, his genjutsu was not going to help him here. His mind froze as he thought of the best jutsu for the objectives before him. Entering back into reality, without another second wasted he manipulated his fingers in the shape of a gun. "Raiton: Shōgeki-dan!" He shouted with the hopes that the bandit would turn to face the noise. Several balls of lightning shot out of his fingertips towards the bandit. Two were aimed at the bandit and one was aimed to be parried to less the damage that would be caused by the jutsu.

With only a moment to spare, the charged balls hit the bandit in the chest causing him to stagger. The last ball of redirected from the sword would shoot down towards the chest of Jiroubou with hopes of waking him up. This charge to the body may hurt later but, it would be hopefully get him back into the battle. Seito still was uncertain of how many were left and had to be very careful. The third bandit was no where to be seen. Seito kept an eye out with his ability to multitask while he continued to shoot up to 15 bullets at the bandit. While these chocks may not be able to kill him, they certainly would be ale to subdue him. 'Get up, Get up.' Seito thought while he was providing covering fire for Jiroubou. Seito knew that there must be at least a few more bandits because he knew that two bandits would not be able to have caused so much damage to dispatch these two shinobi. He was looking around for at least two more. Seito was just hoping that his plan would work. It seemed as an eternity between each charged bullet would exit out of his finger. Was this going to be the first shinobi who dies under his charge? Seito surely could not let this happen!
