"Black flame ripping through the forests of our country like an avalanche ablaze was the last thing our people remembered as free men and women. Although our small ninja village in the land of grass was all but hidden from the greater world, we were there. Obsidian, abyssal chaos made incarnate ran rampant, devouring all of those who were unfortunate enough to be in its path... those who were too slow to escape its fiery maw as it opened wide and crashed down on its now helpless victims lost to ashes.
The Village elders took to the fleet, leaving all of us behind, leaving us to the burning and the torture of the waves which crashed against us, we were abandoned that day by those we cared for, we were abandoned by our peers, abandoned by our families, abandoned by our friends and loved ones as they did not even so much as look back to see if we were following in their wake... out of fear... out of selfishness.
But we were not dust in this wasteland, some of us, some of us were skilled enough in the black arts to shield the flames, regenerating our bodies faster than the agony could overwhelm our physical forms. Though our mental frames buckled under the weight of the force. Some of us gave in, breaking to the pain and letting go of what was maintaining our lives. But, as hours past, and the maw showed no signs of stopping or even slowing down, we persisted. And so, like a light, we gave in to our thirst for life, and the world fell to ash, and we survived, the world went black...
And for a moment, without chakra, we saw Nirvana...
But it was not our time, from what the few of us know and believe, the flames flickered out of existence moments after we gave into their blaze, to be rescued by an old rugged woman from the mountains wielding a platinum staff, and a blindfold covering broken, shattered, violet eyes with black circles cleaving through the colour, which, since that day we've never seen behind. She breathed life into us, bought us back from the depths of our hell

Kekkei Genkai Description:
The members of the Shiki-Iga clan are a ghastly sight to behold, their souls having once departed were called back to their reconstituted bodies of their former selves, their spiritual chakra bound to their physical chakra through ties placed by their savior simultaneously to their bodies were repaired as much as physically able. However, their appearance is still corpse-like to the eye, bearing skin like parchment or rawhide leather and tipped teeth/ canines and other varied physical features that would be seen amongst the dead. This status of being neither entirely living nor entirely dead drove a wedge between the body and spirit chakra within themselves, allowing them to use techniques entirely comprised of spirit chakra with vastly different effects to common jutsu. These Seishin techniques lash out at and devour chakra on contact, nullifying techniques or causing great pain as they make contact with life, effectively ripping the vitality from a person.
- Seishin Chakra: Appearing as often translucent mist like constructs or energy, Seishin Chakra is the art of constructing techniques void of body chakra which would give them any form of solidity. Considered a branch of Yin Release, Seishin Chakra can be used to create ephemeral constructs resembling weapons or items, used as a near ectoplasmic energy for bolts or blasts as well as many other versatile uses like any element. But no-matter its composition, there is a simple truth and nature of Seishin chakra. Seishin release techniques do not deal physical harm the body or impact upon the world. Instead, Seishin techniques harm the spirit/mind, meaning they do not make contact with solid objects without chakra of some denomination within them, (element, enchantment or otherwise), instead passing through such weapons or items unhindered. Seishin techniques are able to remove chakra equal to the chakra cost of the technique +5 on single cast jutsu, or chakra equal to their maintenance cost per hit on maintained techniques. This aggressively gluttonous chakra is known to devour active chakra before inactive at the highest value that it can, should a Seishin release technique interact with a technique of equal rank or lower, it will nullify that technique as it clashes, ceasing any further effects of the technique and immediately commencing its cooldown.*
*(Seishin Techniques nullify a single jutsu of equal rank or lower on contact and only devour more if their chakra cost is equal to the combined charka cost of the multiple techniques combined. Should a Seishin technique collide with a ninja with 2 active techniques maintained, it will nullify the higher rank of the two / one that costs more chakra. If the techniques are identical in rank and cost, the owner of the jutsu decides which is eaten. The victim will still loose excess chakra if hit and the Seishin techniques can only nullify techniques of equal and lower ranks and must drain equal or higher chakra than the casting chakra cost of the technique.) - Desiccated Form: The bodies of the Shiki Iga are barely functional as they are animated by their own persistent chakra. This leads them to have +2 tiers to their endurance stat as well as having very little in the way of vital locations on their body. Many of the Auxiliary organs other than those directly connected to the brain serve little to no function within their body (stomach, kidneys, liver etc.). This factor leads members of the clan to have no biorhythm or bodyheat, making them hard to detect through usual methods. However, strikes to Primary Organs, namely the Heart, Spinal Column and Brain will still debilitate and kill a Shiki Iga.
- Dead Waltz: Shiki Iga Clan members do gain some benefit from being functionally deceased. Their unnatural being allows them to move as light as a feather or cling to surfaces and rooftops as legends speak of. Shiki Iga clan members are considered to always be performing supernatural walking practice with no detriment to their chakra pool.
Drawbacks:
The Shiki Iga can be horrifying opponents to contend with, thought while the strengths that can be gained from the long deceased can be numerous and even devastating, their weaknesses are equally as grueling and crippling.
- Pyrophobic: Members of the Shiki Iga clan begin with the 'Pyrophobic' Negative SC and cannot balance it with an additional positive due to the trauma of being once killed by the legendary black flames which swallowed most of their riverside village and ensuing nation.

- Night Creature: Katon based techniques and Fuuinjutsu sealing techniques, due to Fuuinjutsus roots in Onmyodo have +1 rank of effectiveness when used against members of the Shiki Iga clan. This weakness stems from their dried bodies being easily susceptible to flame while simultaneously, the Shiki Iga are widely considered supernatural in being. Thus, the mystic arts of Fuuinjutsu in sealing such beings have been honed for centuries.
- Chakra Reliant Form: Shiki Iga clan members begin with -25 chakra due to a sum of that chakra needing to be constantly maintained to animate their body. Additionally, when members of the Shiki Iga clan reach 5 chakra or less, rather than being reverted into a desperate comatose state, the chakra bonds which hold their souls to their bodies break down permanently unless maintained by an outside source, releasing their spirit and killing them in seconds.
- Lumbering Dead: Members of the Shiki Iga clan are slower to act than most natural beings, their movements are slower but more purposeful as they move due to dulled senses and dead nerves. Shiki Iga Clan members receive -1 tier to both their reaction time and speed statistics.
