The sun was still rising when Mizuki had left Kumogakure behind to undergo the mission she had been given by the Raikage himself. A diplomatic mission, like one she had always dreamed off to be given ever since she became a shinobi, but one that held a bit of a dark shade. Involuntarily, she rested her hand upon the scrolls that held the the new Raikage's 'business card - rods crackling with the power of black raiton. A revelation of his presence Hastur Miyamoto had deemed as fitting. Much like himself, the rods exhumed undeniable power able to shake the heavens themselves.
Removing her hand from the scrolls, Mizuki tightened the Kumogakure headband on her front once more and pulled the dark grey cloak that covered almost her entire figure to assure herself it was still in place. As if just thinking about the Raikage sufficed to have her accessories be blown off. Naturally, this time neither she had not failed to bring along her katana with her even though she had no intentions to fight or kill. She was just a representative aiming to deliver the Raikage's message.
Not that she kept up illusions before her. She was well aware that not everyone would offer her a warm welcome. Kumogakure had not exactly been on the best terms with the other Villages, and there was no guessing how they would perceive his storm-brewing rods. If she would already be able to arrive safely to begin with. If secret forces or bandits caught air about Kumogakure, of her, being on the move, there certainly would be a few complications in the form of assassinations. The shinobi hoped her training at the hands of her father, a renowned kenjutsu trainer and executioner in Kumogakure, trained with the bow of the exiled Kyodora Zetsume Zix, and with the techniques of the former Raikage Lin, would suffice to see this mission through to the end.
At least for now, she had a head start as the only one knowing of her movement would be the raikage, her father, Julius and herself. By the time her absence would be discovered in Kumogakure, she would already be well on her way, ditching the stormy mountains of the Land of Lighting in favour of the unknown Land of Earth where Iwagakure was to be found. Since she hadn't heard much about the country, she had taken the time to do some research about it, planning her route ahead. As a Land rich in mountains and rocky areas, the kunoichi found it quite akin to her native Land and decided therefore to visit it first. Secluded as Iwagakure was, she hoped that she could use the difficult communication to her advantage to remain undetected by hostiles as long as possible. The added benefit, as far as she knew, was taht Iwagakure had no qualms with Kumogakure either, making it a little easier to preserve her status as diplomat instead of being considered as an infiltrant.
Looking back for one last glance, Kumogakure had become nothing more but a blurred dot covered in the darkness of the thunder clouds and the drizzle that started to fall down. An aching in her chest rose up as she felt that leaving Kumogakure, even for this mission, felt as if she was now abandoning her family. While there was no saying where Erisu was currently residing, with her father mostly on the move for missions and executions and her mother at the hospital, the emotional burden she felt was real, urging her mind to suggest that this would be the last time she saw her mother.
Shaking off that thought, Mizuki gritted her teeth. For once, she had to be selfish. For once, she was not allowed to have her mind and heart be burdened by her family, telling herself that everything would be fine once she returned. She had a mission to complete.
