Yamada Kegare

Yamada Kegare

D-rank
mission briefing:

For once Kegare managed to find his way through to the village's Administration Building, dead set on getting himself a more worthy and financially lucrative mission. Though he did not doubt that there had to be some better missions that didn't involve teaching kids some basic jutsu, he was slightly worried about the fact that most missions above D rank were actually never given to shinobi of the genin rank, which basically also entailed the masked man as well, who despite his age and knowledge was still a lowly genin.

Not letting this fact stand in his way though, Kegare looked through the various missions that had been posted on the mission board. However he had to admit that there was more choice than he had imagined, with missions ranging from the most menial of tasks to rather dangerous if not in some cases deadly missions.

One in particular though drew his attention, a mission which stated that he had to go to Iwagakure's Wild West to help out a farmer who's bull had managed to break out of the paddock and was now a danger to the surrounding farms and other farmers' herds and crops.

Seeing this as a worthy opportunity to both acclimate himself with the shinobi work and his own jutsu, as well as perhaps making a good name for himself with the more rural populace of the hidden village, Kegare took the paper that detailed the mission and went to request it for himself, acknowledging the risks, yet favoring the rewards anyway.

Whe he had been assigned the mission after his request, the masked man passed by his home first to get his gear ready. He needed to wear the mark of his village, so he decided to bind the Iwagakure forehead protector around his neck and throat, the metal shield resting atop his collarbones.

Trading in his hat for a rust-brown bandana and wearing shorter pants and a jacket rather than a vest, the masked man made his way to the farmer who had reported his predicament.

Arriving there, kegare quickly greeted the farmer who did not need any assurances or introductions and simply stated that he would only pay for a shinobi if said shinobi was able to get his bull back alive and well.

Grumbling a bit, kegare agreed with the rules and set off to find the bull, which most likely wouldn't be a problem, given the path of destruction in the heavy beast's wake. "It's not a search, it's just a matter of following this bull's trail."

He was right though, as many a fields had been mulled through, with parts of the crops runned down and fences and hedges simply barged through without concern. Obviously the bull was enjoying its new found freedom, yet Kegare had to find it before another farmer would attempt to kill it or hire a shinobi just for that purpose.

Luckily for Kegare, after at least half an hour of looking, jumping around and following the trail, he managed to find the bull grazing near a patch of forest at the edges of the Wild West, a local watering hole. This was good, but also bad, since if Kegre wasn't fast enough, perhaps one of nature's own predators might try and attack the bull...

Of course now that he had found the large beast, Kegare had to be quite careful, after all he had heard that on its rampage, the bull had already managed to directly and indirectly harm people, either by ramming them and running them over or simply because they were too close to its path of destruction.

He looked at the bull's impressively long and probably quite sharp horns and did not doubt the effectiveness of these weapons granted by nature. It was obvious that he had to employ some sort of tactic to succesfully capture or subdue this beast without getting himself in too much trouble, though he was wondering if he was even able to handle such a task on his own without any assistance.

"This really looks like more trouble than I imagined it would be," The masked man sighed, placing his left hand against the mask which covered his face, while burrowing through the satchel on his belt with his rights hand, looking for his kunai. "Now, how to distract a beast weighing more than half a tonne without getting caught up myself."

Managing to hide himself behind a nearby rock, kegare calmly looked at the bull and awaited for the perfect moment to arrive. He needed to be patient, carefully monitoring the bull's movements and calmly analyzing the beast's behavior before even thinking about launching a surprise attack.

The man looked at his kunai, at the beast and back at his kunai and realized that one measly kunai was far from being enough to even give the bull a fright, let alone hurt it, so he put it back into the satchel and decided the only other option was using jutsu and it so happened that he did have a decent jutsu in his arsenal that could be used as a replacement for any kunai or shuriken.

Jumping atop the rock behind which he had been hiding, Kegare quickly made a set of handseals, concentrating his chakra to condence the air around him into crystal particles, which eventually became small shuriken-like crystal objects. "Shōton, Dangan Ranbu!!"

Throwing down his hand, pointing it towards the bull, the dozen of small projectiles launched themselves towards the beast, harassing it and digging deep within its skin. "Success...oh crap, nope RUN!!"

An instant after his own jutsu had managed to harass the bull, the masked man had to run for his life, the massive bull charging behind him at a high speed, lowering its head with the horns forward to surely pin down Kegare upon them. The endresult was a bit different than the masked man had hoped, as he himself ended up being the one who was frightened.

Yet, while running, Kegare managed to realize that this was actually quite a good turn of events. Even though he was in danger, he could easily lead the bull towards its owner's farm and deal with it there as long as he was still at the center of the beast's attention. with that in mind, he kept running until he had reached the farm where he had first asked around.

"Now!!" He quickly turned, made a few handseals and slammed his hands on the ground, after which a large wall of crystal sprouted out of the ground in a matter of a second, surprising both himself and the bull. "Shōton-Shōjinheki."

The bull couldn't stop and as such slammed against the wall with full force, knocking itself down in the process. The farmer who saw this, ran outside an looked at Kegare and then at the bull. "It's still alive sir, just... tuckered out that's all."

With that being said, the farmer got a few men to bring the bull back to its pen, while Kegare kindly accepted the payment and went back to the Administration Building to do his mission debriefing.
