It was cool, calm, and quiet this morning, the fog reminded him a little of the mist back home. It wasn't so thick that seeing ahead was difficult, like it occasionally get back in Kirigakure, but it was enough to trace the ground and haze the far off image of the world in the distance of his vision. He had directive from the village, in his time in the village he should scout out what he could, do some missions for the village, act as an emissary in hostile territory. All of that sounded like such a drag but given the hostility between Kiri and Kumo, as found-less as it might have been, Maigo was finding himself stuck in the aftermath. A drag he had no interest in, but it was a nice trip of nostalgia since the last time he was in this village, for the chuunin exams a few years back. He lost in the tournament but... it could have been worse for him, he at least got a chance to represent himself and he wasn't the only Kiri ninja that made it to the finals, either.

Regardless of the memories of this village, Maigo found himself in an extraordinarily cautious position, wearing a grey cloak over his clothes with the hood down, not to arouse too much suspicion in character, he had removed his headband and had his entire armory in stock under his cloak. Kunai, shuriken, and the rest in his pouch at his waist, a kunai in pouch on his thigh, and his larger shuriken in his backpack along with a few other mundane items. Lastly, his katana tucked at his waist by the belt, the cloak kept him completely covered and removed his form along with it, other than his above average height, it was hard to make him out in the deep coat and the long sleeves. If his hood were up, it'd have been anything but impossible for most people to make him out without looking directly at him.

He journeyed quietly and calmly through the village that morning, finding himself visiting a few memorable locations throughout, the casino and the place he stayed for the chuunin exams. Ending his journey near that battle plateau, a place where he and his squad borrowed for training and practice in the weeks up to and time during the exams. It was mostly quiet, some people passed by here and there, he would smile and nod, wave whatever be the most appropriate form of greeting. And then... whim struck him, so far he'd done very little in terms of actually scouting out the area of the village, no more so than the minimum to watch where he was going would involve. He began to ascend the stone steps that wrapped around the side, carrying him up the plateau slowly, lingeringly.

As he neared the top, he heard the sound of clashing, steel against steel like kunai but it was hesitated, small clashes here and there. Just... two people? He peeked over, slowly, trying to avoid suspicion, from the intensity of the battle it sounded like two jounin, the buzz of chakra and crash of some small explosions, but when his eyes glanced evenly over the horizon he found... two kids? No more than fourteen or fifteen years old. He was astonished, they both looked totally worn out, some cuts and bruises, both panting in a small still of quiet as they planned out their next move or a bit of animosity in each of their eyes met each others gaze.

One held a kunai tightly in his hand and the other a katana, each of them huffed, Maigo slowly began to emerge, taking a few more steps up, his shoulders emerging and eyeing the two boys carefully. The one to the left, dressed in grey like a normal Kumo shinobi, headband proudly on display on his forehead and pushing the bangs of his white hair out of his eyes. The other boy to the right, seemingly much more in control of his breath and stamina, had blonde hair and a fairly normal black clothing choice with his headband more cleanly placed upon his forehead, clothing like what the ANBU wore under their armor. They were such a unique pairing, but the one boy to the left cried out, not in a yell or moan, but more of a strained grunt, his sword began to glow brightly in a spark of raiton. Bright, furious, the static clung to the air and pressured out around him, it was a large amount of chakra and may be his last move, but what concerned Maigo more, was the malice and intent in his preparation, in his own eyes.

Maigo placed himself directly between the two, the blonde smiled defiantly against the boys effort, words left his lips with the sting of ego, some taunt that Maigo couldn't make out a distance but the white haired boys face scrunched in a twisted manner. It was... rage, emotion, it was everything that Maigo had seen in himself when confronted and challenged. Though, Maigo couldn't empathize with the pain of being taunted, he'd known pain before, the pain of not protecting those he cared for and failing, especially failure. But it was as the boy taunted him that he noticed something strange, the spark of the blade, it intensified slightly, the boys arm twitched, hardly noticeable, but Maigo noticed, more chakra being pushed into the blade for this attack.

He was trying to seriously hurt him... he couldn't make too many assumptions, perhaps the blonde was a traitor, or spy, something like Maigo perhaps? But if he were a comrade, he was about to seriously wound him, the action plagued by emotion that would leave him with regret. Maigo's sharingan activated, he noticed all the chakra had left his arm, it sparked brilliantly in yellow entirely in the blade and nothing else. Planning to release it all? That would be dangerous... and the boys calves, they twitched, he began to dig in, slow enough for Maigo to read and react to but enough to signify that he was preparing to move. Maigo reached a hand up to the plateau and threw himself up, he was going to act, he was a jounin and could handle them, and besides, if the blonde was a spy then what better way to prove that he wasn't here to threaten Kumo in any way?

With chakra in his right hand, pressing a large amount of chakra to it, making a powerful Chidori that exploded in his hand as his legs landed upon the flat of the plateau. The boy started moving, but he was slow, a genin's speed for sure, and the other boy, was still sinking in to prepare for the attack. Maigo moved quickly, the white haired boys katana was pointed forward as he closed in and the kunai of the blonde was being set to counter.

That wouldn't matter much, with his eyes and increased speed, he would time his descent upon the two to strike just before they would deliver their own mutual strike, Maigo dashed between them. First, he grabbed the blade of Raiton chakra with his own chidori, rotating around it and pushing it down into the ground instead of letting him release the chakra directly at the boy, and with his feet, he jumped up and grabbed the wrist holding the kunai of the blonde haired boy. Paused in the air for a brief moment and creating a bridge between the two for a short moment before everything would flow back into motion. The blade of Raiton chakra, slammed down with force along with his chidori, exploding into the ground and tearing the earth at their feet apart. As for the blonde haired boy, Maigo's feet rotated rapidly around, he heard a crack and the kunai fell from his hand, he may have broken his wrist, or at least dislocated it, but it stopped his downward counter swing and broke his momentum.

Dust scattered everywhere with debris and a loud crash of explosion, pressured air causing a boom that would be heard around the plateau itself. Maigo's feet released the blonde as the pressure scattered out, he heard him fall to the ground but Maigo's arm held the katana down into the earth, the white haired boy seemed... shocked, gripping his sword tightly and sitting into his stance to hold himself upright. Maigo fell to a knee, holding the flat and dull edge of the blade with his palm and pushing to hold it down.

A short moment, the boy painted, the blonde spoke up panicked, "What in the world??" Maigo could tell his eyes would be near him as he would be scooting back away with his feet. Maigo's sharingan glared into the white haired boys soul, piercing past him, Maigo spoke up with conviction and tone to break the silence, "Those... are not the type of jutsu you use on a comrade..." his face was blank and he waited, before his sharingan would fade away. A thought crossed his mind to enter them both into a genjutsu of some sort, but perhaps he could reach him in conversation instead of illusion. But then again, who was Maigo to criticize, whenever his rage struck, he usually just got himself into enough trouble that he would be beaten bloody.

With a sigh, Maigo stood up from his kneeled position, releasing his grip on the sword and waiting to see what the boy who was gritting his teeth would have to say about this all.

Coincidence and Chance [Lin/No-kill] Hamakaze.(Kantai.Collection).full.1738270

Lin was stretched out lazily on top of a raised bit of rock, possibly from someone utilizing doton chakra and having left it there. She wasn't so permanent as all of that, her jutsu leaving behind traces on people, not the landscape. She was wearing an outfit that she could easily move around in. A black under-outfit that seemed to be made of some sort of elastic lay under a jacket vest that she had unzipped. It was a white jacket with sleeves where she had hidden her senbon. She probably didn't need it, but a well aimed senbon behind the Achilles tendon and someone would stop dead in their tracks before hurting or killing someone else.

She had her tonfa on her side, as she had needed to break up a fight just yesterday between a swordsman and a medical ninja that she had thought that she recognized. The swordsman had been jilted and then had been stood up for his date with the other man. A duel that was supposed to settle his honor. Lin had taken care of him with a man named Asura Senju that ran the White Rose here in Kumogakure. She adjusted one of her white gloves so that it fit snugly. Around her midriff she had some hard leather that really was just for show more than anything else. It was to deter people from taking shots at her stomach, one of the more painful and one of the most difficult to heal places on the human body. A skirt hid the bottom of this hardened leather, and had two bows attached to her hips. She would have brought her companion Gora, but the lazy cat was sleeping at home.

The two that she was watching at this point in time were genin, barely old enough to have been right out of the academy. She yawned and stretched, her toes curling and her arms reaching over her head as she put her back to the hard earth and watched the clouds for a bit. Kumogakure, or the village hidden in the clouds, was aptly named, and the clouds to anyone else would seem close enough to touch, despite being hundreds of feet up in the air. She reached up and imagined running her fingers through their puffy whiteness. She imagined them to feel like running her hands through a very fine cotton, or perhaps bunched silk.

Lin sighed and looked back to the fight between the two Genin. One of them had let loose a javelin made from Raiton Chakra, and it was repelled by the other boy's own water based jutsu that Lin did not recognize, which retaliated by redirecting the charge of electricity back at the boy that had used the jutsu in the first place. The white jumped out of the way in the nick of time as the super-charged suiton chakra screamed past him. A good move by the boy that had been on the defensive for the entire time. They had a multitude of cuts that she thought that they could wear as trophies of their sparring match.

There was something about them though, that she didn't quite pick up on until it was too late. The white was getting ready for something that she couldn't see until it was already forming in his hands. A chidori or at least a variant of it. She leapt down from her raised rock to charge at the two. The raiton blade that the white had made matched its intensity to the malice behind his eyes. This spar had gone too far. There was a look of a killer behind it, and surely, if he were to plunge the blade into a vital area, there would be nothing that Lin could do to save the poor boy that was holding the kunai defiantly.

The malice wasn't reflected though, but a more stoic determination. It could have been taken as such, but Lin often wore that look when she had to bring someone down or bring someone in for questioning or to face justice. Lin was not a pacifist by any means, and would torture someone for information, but would make sure that the wounds that she gave she could always heal. She went for non-vital areas that would hinder the person rather than kill them.

Her footfalls echoed throughout the plateau as she made her way painstakingly slowly, or at least it seemed that way, towards the two genin. The one rushed towards the other, a sadistic-filled rage filling his eyes. He was going to go for the kill. The chidori-sword aimed right at the other boy's heart. It would plunge and kill the boy if someone didn't do something to stop it's course. Lin saw, behind the boy, something that gave her pause. It was bad timing to say the least, and terribly hazardous to the boy with the kunai to say the worst about the interruption. It made her too slow to counter the blade that she knew would kill the boy.

It all happened in some sort of slow motion for her. She ran towards the boys, and the man blurred with his speed to catch up with them, a chidori already encompassing his own hand. Perhaps an assassin sent to kill one of them. His speed was far beyond her own, and she couldn't seem to shout fast enough. Both Genin were intent upon their battle, and wouldn't be interrupted for anything. The man was a blur now, moving faster than her eyes could train, she knew that if the chidori was aimed for one of the pair they were dead.

She had to get faster, had to get stronger somehow. Digging the balls of her feet in, she tried to move faster, faster than she had ever moved before. She strained her muscles to their absolute limits and tried to get to the two genin before the hooded man did. His hood flew off and she saw the eyes that she hadn't seen since she had been in the underworld. Perhaps this was the same man?

She tried to look at his face as his chidori met the boy's and she heard a crack as the other boy's wrist broke under the strain of the blow that Maigo had given him. She did recognize the man. It was an incredulous thought as the dust was thrown up from the force of the blow, and when it cleared all that she could see was Maigo getting up from pinning the white.

"He is right, you know." Lin said to the white boy as he huffed and cast a petulant glance at Maigo and then her. The white stormed off, not needing nor wanting aid, as the other boy fell to the ground, holding his wrist and looking at it in disbelief. It was a lucky wound that he had received, and if he kept playing with it like that, he would be in even more pain.

Lin's hands were enveloped in what looked to be teal cat's paws after a short series of hand-signs. She closed them over the boy's wrist as she approached and gave Maigo a look that told him that he had overdone it. Within a couple of seconds the boy's wrist was completely healed. He looked up at Maigo and backed away from the man that had broken his wrist, scuttling back with both his hands and feet before trying to sprint away.

Lin tossed her bangs out of her face as she sizes up Maigo, revealing her scar, the one that she was sensitive about. It was really him. Her heart skipped a beat as she remembered the pool game, the forest of demons... everything. "Maigo.... kun?" She tilted her head slightly in disbelief.

It seemed like they were two arrows with different trajectories when she had woken up in the village after being dead. No one had known how she had gotten there, or why she was covered in blood. Her neck had been closed, the wound on it, and it didn't look like she was a zombie any longer. She touched where she had been killed by the man with the skull shirt tenderly, almost as if remembering something.

She wanted for it to be him. She searched her memories, he was dressed differently, clad in some sort of arsenal, his sword, one that she recognized on his hip, and a backpack on his back. His cloak had hidden his face, but now its hood had fallen back. it was actually kind of funny that he would try to hide his face around Kumogakure. She didn't know what village he was a part of, but she assumed it wasn't here.

She really didn't care though, and to be honest she was really just happy to see him. Though, the confusion carried on. When did he arrive in the village, how long had he been there, what was he there for? All of these questions and more swam in her mind before something rang out like a bell in her head. She had been playing pool with him when he had asked her something. She racked her brains for a moment before remembering and finding her voice.

The confusion, gave way to a mischievous grin, "You still owe me a date." Her grin would stay there until he answered her statement. She thought that she could throw him off easily with this. Or at least she hoped to.

Harsh gaze carried Maigo for a second, bringing the boy into muse, it was... weird for Maigo to be on the outside looking in, but any of his connection to that anger faded quickly. Words rang out against the settling air, "He is right, you know." what was a harsh glare from Maigo softened instantly, he blinked a bit before quickly turning his head, and consequently his shoulders to find the familiarity in the words. No, it was the voice that was familiar... Lin. He spoke up lightly at first as the rest of his body turned to face her and rotate as she walked by, the white haired boy ran off, he was no doubt angry still and Maigo hadn't any chance to instill the fear of himself in him or to lecture against letting his anger control him, words all too close to home. But... all of his concern faded for a moment, his heart beat hurried a small bit, he was... happy now? It drowned out his other feelings as he watched chakra envelop her hand and approach the other boy, "What? Why are you here...?" the words dulled the air, barely audible, he was more speaking to himself but didn't comment much further as he watched her heal his hand.

That boy, once healed, also ran off away, like Maigo was some sort of monster or demon, and that one hadn't even had the glare of his sharingan to pin him down at all. Still, it didn't bother him in the slightest, Lin pushed her away and revealed a scar, but Maigo hadn't noticed it in the entirety of her presence, a small detail he paid little attention to. "Maigo.... kun?" she spoke up, his eyes still widened and dilated a bit, he was confused... had noticed that the scar to her neck, the wound of her death was gone, even more so as she felt up to it with her hand. He blinked for a moment and spoke up, narrowed eyes for a moment, "Yeah, but... why are you here? How did you know I was here? How'd you get of the underworld, what happened??" he spoke quickly in a rant as the thoughts slipped from his mind straight to his mouth without filter as she seemingly mused to herself. Everything faded for a moment as the questions burned in his mind.

Truthfully, he hadn't... expected to see her again? After escaping death, at least not for a very long time at that, until he died again. But for some reason... she was here. And so was he. But that fact of coincidence didn't do anything to quench the curiosity in his mind or the concern along with it.

"I'm here because I live here." Lin said flatly, her eyes half-closing with a bit of annoyance. She crossed her arms, "My line is supposed to be, what are you doing here?" She paused for a moment and tapped her foot, completely ignoring him when he asked about the way that she got there. To be completely honest, she had no idea, and she didn't like to talk about how she was dead, because all that it got from her parents was a weird half-joking half-not joking laugh and exchanged hurried and worried looks behind her back.

"You still owe me a date anyhow." She confronted him flat-out. There, she said it. If he wasn't Maigo, then he wouldn't know what she was talking about. She would have just dreamed up the entire time that she was on that cursed island, the dying, and the underworld. But she hoped... well... beyond hope that Maigo was actually someone that she had met.

"I'm here because I live here." she became seemingly immediately annoyed with him. Shortly crossing her arms, he watched curiously for a moment, not sure what it was that he... said or did? "My line is supposed to be, what are you doing here?" An equally fair question, Maigo chuckled a bit and spoke up softly, "It's kind of a long story really..." he held his smile, trying not to interrupt her too much, for his... even less than answering assertion.

"You still owe me a date anyhow." she came outright with it, seemingly still annoyed, he held his awkward smile and rubbed his neck like he always did in these awkward situations. He'd have some ground to regain he supposed, from the ways things seemed at the moment but he would tilt his head and smile a bit. "I guess I do, don't I?" he teased a bit. Of course, he hadn't forgotten or anything like that but... a small chance to give her a hard time, see how well she'd react to his joking or not.

Maigo would raise his hand up and wave for a moment, aiming to get her to step closer to him and close the distance a little bit otherwise he would step closer to her on his own accord. Then with an outreached hand he would lightly tap her forehead with two of his fingers and smile before speaking up, "Come on, we can walk and talk and figure out what you want to do for this date..." he would hold his smile and slowly turn towards the staircase that led back down to the village below. If she would join him, he'd start walking towards the stairs and then down them, leading the way for the two of them for the time.

Lin straightened out the pleats in her miniskirt and let her hair fall back over her scar. She waited for him to make a decision on whether or not he wanted to actually go on a date with her, and when he beckoned her forward and poked her in the center of the forehead, she suspected that he wasn't going to take her seriously. Most people in the ninja world, really, did not take her seriously. She sighed and shook her head, I guess-" She started before he piped up and said, "Come on, we can walk and talk and figure out what you want to do for this date..." She shrugged and followed him down the steps, leaving the site a rubbled mess. The Earth people, the Doton users, would come like they did every night and sew the earth shut, but the rubble was left on top. It was useful for people to throw at one another and it was even more so for Lin.

She had used the tile shuriken against Toshi here, and had trained him how to turn the terrain to his advantage. Sighing, she got a little closer and made a face that she wanted to be closer to him. If he would allow her to get closer, she would put her hands together in front of her, lean in. And then quickly zap him on the thigh with a zip of electricity. Not enough to hurt, leave a mark, or otherwise, but to get him back for poking her forehead. She thought that he was going to be serious, but he got playful instead.

She looked up at him, all innocence, and continued on her way, "So what would you like to do for a date? There's food, a market, a festival happening tonight, and hot springs up the mountain at Mt. Ikkyu." She smiled and tilted her head. Lin was rarely the decision-maker in things, and didn't like to fill that role. It wasn't like her to do anything without consulting the person that she was with, and even then, she usually deferred to what they wanted to do. Their first... well, their first meeting, she had taken control of the situation, but now that she was alive again, she wanted to return to some sense of normalcy.

Lin shrugged on after and followed him down the stairs back to the village. Their feet patted against the stone of the steps as Maigo hurried down, not quickly but seemingly so. It was... sometime after they reached the bottom that Maigo heard her sigh, slowing his walk and turning his head curiously, giving her a chance to catch up that would be... a slight mistake. Well, not a mistake in itself but when she brought her hands together and shocked him, Maigo made a maneuver that would sit there somewhere between thrusting his hips away from her and the source of the shock and a rapid sidestep. "Ow, what was that-!" he would blurt out and step a few feet away and turn back to her, trying to act seemingly innocent here.

Maigo wasn't a total fool though, he caught on, well enough to what was going on? Or he would like to think that he was, placing a hand over the spot where he'd been shocked and giving a small laugh that turned into a chuckle as she spoke up, "So what would you like to do for a date? There's food, a market, a festival happening tonight, and hot springs up the mountain at Mt. Ikkyu." he stepped back closer to her, if she would let him and continue leading them on to no where in particular.

He hummed briefly, looking away for a minute and tilting his head, making a slight show of his inner musing. The food idea was fine, but dinner dates were a bit of a cliche and Maigo wanted a more grandeur way of going about their first date, or rather first true date. The market was in the same class, relaxed and a bit fun for sure, but it wasn't much compared to the others. As for the festival, it was certainly an idea and held the grandeur he could use, but he had questions on it and then the hotsprings were nice, always relaxing but... perhaps too far to ask for a first date? Or maybe he was just thinking too much into the situation but a festival seemed very interesting but it would really leave some time to cover most likely.

He turned back to her after a short moment and spoke up with a smile, "So, a festival sounds kinda interesting... but what's it about and all? And how long do I... we, have to kill before it gets started?" he corrected himself, hinting a small suggestion to have her spend the day with him if she could, wanted to. Regardless, he'd wait to here her reaction and what she would say and her general thoughts and feelings to his question, waiting to see how she would take to the idea, of hanging out with him and spending time at a festival. If she reacted poorly, he could suggest something else, or ask her own thoughts about it all.

Well, do you have a Kimono?" Lin asked, tilting her head, and imagining him in a festival kimono, which both made her blush and giggle at the same time. It wasn't like she couldn't do it but he looked cute in her mind's eye. "You can leave your stuff at my house while we go shopping, I mean.. you're armed to the teeth. Also, I am not particularly comfortable just walking around in these clothes. They're meant for training and helping others train." She nodded, At least the leather corset that she was wearing would be gone, the rest could stay, and she thought it was a cute outfit, but she also didn't want Maigo bogged down with.. well... what looked to be all of his worldly possessions.

"I mean, if you're here because you want to start a war, we're already there as far as I can tell. I heard that the Mizukage invaded Kumogakure. I was... dead at the time." She put a hand to her neck again, "And no one will believe me that I was. They said that it's either a short-lived psychosis that I experienced or some sort of genjutsu. It wasn't like I was that unstable either. i just... was surprised to wake up and find myself alive." She smiled and swished back and forth, "So anyhow, long story short, you should store your stuff at my place so that we can go and pick you out something to wear tomorrow. Alright?" And without waiting for his reply, she started to herd him towards the east, where her house was.

"I... ummmm... no, I don't." he started off in response about the kimono, it wasn't that she answered his question or anything and it was a rather... odd turn to respond but he didn't mind it. She giggled afterwards, it was obvious that whatever vision she had in her mind was a bit ridiculous, and given the subject he could only imagine how the idea of him in something formal or decorative or stylistic like a kimono might be. He watched blankly for a second as she continued on, "You can leave your stuff at my house while we go shopping, I mean.. you're armed to the teeth. Also, I am not particularly comfortable just walking around in these clothes. They're meant for training and helping others train." he became a bit fidgety in his stride, a fit of nervousness struck him.

His fidgeting really... inhibited his ability to think correctly, all he could do was blush and stammer out a bit of a response, looking towards her but not directly at her all the same, "Oh yeah, that's... fine I guess." Maigo was completely unsure of how he should react be invited to her house and all, in fact, he hadn't stopped anywhere really since he'd entered into the village and his plan wasn't even to stay inside the village walls at that. He felt like interjecting for a moment but Lin continued on, "I mean, if you're here because you want to start a war, we're already there as far as I can tell. I heard that the Mizukage invaded Kumogakure. I was... dead at the time."

Maigo turned his head away for a moment, he didn't know where that came from... did she know that he was a Kiri ninja or something? He'd thought he kept that pretty well under cover so far but a bit of a melancholy look came over his face as she spoke, he wasn't sure where it came from at all but he stayed away from it. It wasn't that he minded her bringing it up, he knew of the invasion but was himself dead too... it wouldn't change much though. Would she still have any bit of sympathy or feeling for him if she knew that he was on the opposing side of their battle? Though, he did enjoy her eccentricism and spontaneity, it was part of why he was so attracted to her inherently, between that and the warm feeling that washed over him around her, he couldn't help but smile back as she continued on, "And no one will believe me that I was. They said that it's either a short-lived psychosis that I experienced or some sort of genjutsu. It wasn't like I was that unstable either. i just... was surprised to wake up and find myself alive."

"So anyhow, long story short, you should store your stuff at my place so that we can go and pick you out something to wear tomorrow. Alright?" Maigo held his smile in return, nodding to her, "Yeah, that's fine with me, though... are you sure it's not imposing? I do need to find an inn or somewhere to stay anyways..." he would continue on, being ushered along in a direction by Lin and letting her lead now.

Regardless of her answer or how it would result, he'd pause for a moment in silence with her after they'd continued walking before he'd speak up, "You know... it is pretty rotten though." he would add and look towards her, waiting to grab her attention again, "Everyone not believing that you died and all... but maybe they're not wrong?" a wide grin and chuckle encompassed him, "Maybe it was a genjutsu, perhaps my genjutsu that just made you think all of that was real?" he accompanied with a sarcastic and joking tone, hoping that she wouldn't take it too seriously. His eyes though, would spin around and turn into that red color, flashing his sharingan at her again just like he'd done before in the underworld. "I'm just teasing though..." he would add with a chuckle before his eyes would revert back to normal and his head would be held high with that same stupid smile he'd always have on his face.

"Maybe it was yours... But I don't think you know Mifune." She smirked back, walking around some people, weaving in and out. Her steps were rhythmic, as she picked up on the other people's "beat" as Satoshi called it. There was a rhythm to everyone and everything, and it made it easier to flow with the crowd as she weaved in and out, pulling Maigo along if he would allow her to grab his hand. They headed further and further towards the heart of town, and finally they came to a set of apartment buildings. She was on the ground level, not the garden level, so she had plenty of light, but it wasn't like she lived in a penthouse either.

Walking up to her door, she fished for her keys and unlocked the door, "Gora, are you in here?" She turned back around and smiled, "My cat." She explained.

Her apartment had one bedroom and one bath. The door opened up to a living room/front room with a couch that pulled out to a bed. It could seat three comfortably with room to spare. In front of it was an ottoman of the same color and a T.V. roughly 30'' in size. To the left of the front door was her kitchen with a bar-setting to separate the kitchen from the living area. Straight back was a view of Lin's messy room. It was hard to keep it clean with a 400 pound cat, so Lin rushed to close the door, obviously embarrassed when she turned around by the redness in her face. The bathroom was to the left in the hallway as you entered the house, or the right as you left the bedroom. It was quaint, but it was home to her.

"Until you find a hotel, hostel, motel, or whatever you're going to be staying in, might as well put your stuff down here. Now, grab your money if you have any and get out of your travelling clothes." She smiled, and popped back into the bedroom. She changed hurriedly, putting on tights and a skirt that went to mid-thigh. Her top was a sweater that had open shoulders, and was otherwise form-fitting. The pony tail was loosed, since she no longer needed to keep it up for fighting or any such things. Her bangs covered her scar as she exited the room, her other bangs held up by two golden clips.

"Done!"

"Maybe it was yours... But I don't think you know Mifune." she spoke up, Maigo tilted his head in response with a curious glance. Mifune? He didn't bother commenting on it, instead he focused on following her and weaving through traffic, letting her take his hand and holding onto hers, himself. She moved past everyone and through areas with a sort of life to her... whereas Maigo was just taking steps in directions and looking around at the village and people and the through the places they traversed. Eventually they would arrive at an apartment building, Maigo looked up at it and sort of took the area in, following Lin herself further in to her own door.

A bit of anxiety hit him as they arrived at her door, she fished for her keys and Maigo looked down to the left and right away from the door. He was going to get to see where she lived, a lot of information could be drawn from it, opinion influencing and otherwise and he was sure how he reacted would be criticized too. "Gora, are you in here?" the door unlocked and began to open, Maigo turned his attention quickly back to her as she spoke up again, "My cat." she continued on, Maigo simply nodded his head and responded with a lone, "Ah..." the sound of his breath making most of the noise. He wasn't really... fond of cats, never good experiences with them and their tendency to scratch things, but still, he didn't think much of it and instead turned his attention to inside her home.

Staying behind Lin as he entered in, he noticed the kitchen and living area's and the furniture about them, lingering for a moment in the doorway as he pushed the door closed behind him with a hand. His eyes wandered around the room, taking it all in, the styles and such before noticing her rush quickly towards a door, behind it a... messy room. Maigo tilted his head and watched but stayed where he was, in the center of it all to some degree as Lin quickly closed the door and turned back embarrassed. He smiled and chuckled a bit and shook his head, he didn't mind anything like that at all but made a note of it. Lin continued on after, "Until you find a hotel, hostel, motel, or whatever you're going to be staying in, might as well put your stuff down here. Now, grab your money if you have any and get out of your travelling clothes."

Maigo almost spoke up to interrupt but she had already disappeared behind the door, he let the thought drop to his mind where he wondered about, traveling clothes? He grabbed the button of the cloak at the neck and pinched it undone, pulling it around his shoulder and then folding it vertically and placing it over his arm. Under he had... a green vest and brown belt to tie it together, and black pants. He paused for a minute, looking at himself, he could probably ditch the kunai holder on his thigh, and the pouch at the back of his waist, and the katana, and the backpack with his supplies and more weapons. But other than the arsenal of things he was carrying with him, would that not be fine for walking around in?

He took a step towards the couch, letting his backpack fall loosely around his right arm that held the cloak and grabbing his sword in his hand. He planned to keep the pouch and the kunai holder, just to leave his ryo and things in it and just in case he ran into... any trouble at all. Paranoia perhaps, but he'd be damned if his run about logic towards the situation wouldn't justify it. Taking a look around the room as he waited for Lin, he reached to the couch and grabbed a tuft of hair, only three or four white hairs with a tint to them, they were short, thin, and rough. Obviously not from Lin but the cat instead? Would make for one hairy little animal if they came from the pet indeed.

Still, not long had passed as Maigo kinda stood around and admired the room, it wasn't huge but it was certainly nice. Lin emerged from the room very different, in Maigo's eyes, from how she had entered in just a moment ago, announcing her return with an excited, "Done!"  he turned his head and attention promptly and a smile washed over him. He held his smile and took a step to close the gap from where he was standing, "Ready then?" he paused for a moment and waited for her to reply or step forward or whatever that Lin would choose to do, "Anywhere specific you want me to put this stuff?" he held up his backpack, cloak, and sword in his hand for a moment and kinda looked around him. He didn't want to just... leave it in a place, not without her permission of course. So he'd wait for a signal or direction on where to place his things, keeping the kunai holster at his thigh and pouch on, he hoped that she wouldn't mind his 'traveling clothes' being sort of the same as any other clothes that he would wear. Functionality always served before form for Maigo, and hopefully that wouldn't bother Lin too much in his choices.

"Just anywhere." She said, making sure that the clips were secure in her left bangs and smiling, "I don't expect that you'll want to stay with me very long. Seeing as you wanted to put yourself up in a hotel." Her words lingered in the air for a bit before she opened the front door, and assessed his attire, "Better than that ragged cloak that you were wearing." She nodded approvingly.

She waited for him to leave before she turned the key and walked down the street. The market was only two blocks from her house. For a mid-day run through the market it was packed. People were hurriedly buying new outfits, goodies for their lovers, and other things for the festival. A flier caught Lin's eye and she ran up to the pole, tearing it from the wood. Quickly reading through it, she proffered it to Maigo.

"Looks like fun!" The flier said,

"Just anywhere." Maigo nodded as she messed with the clip in her hair. He went ahead and placed the folded cloak over the back of the couch and leaned the katana on it as well before letting the bag drop in his arm and placed beside the couch on the floor, mostly out of the way from someone potentially tripping on it. "I don't expect that you'll want to stay with me very long. Seeing as you wanted to put yourself up in a hotel." she continued on as she approached the door and Maigo finished placing his things down, he lightly nodded along out of respect, saving his comment that wanted to draw attention to her comment about want and how it wouldn't be a problem for him.

Maigo continued to the door and followed her out as she gave him a glance over upon leaving, "Better than that ragged cloak that you were wearing." he chuckled and smiled a bit as he passed by her, taking a few steps away to leave her room to close and lock her door. Commenting as she did so, "Ragged? I rather like that cloak actually..." he retorted, it was true but he was more just pressing that to tease at her a bit. Stuffing his hands firmly in his pockets he held his smile and followed her along the short walk it was to a busy and bustling market. It wasn't long before Lin dashed ahead, Maigo's eyes caught the movement and followed slowly behind her, watching as she ripped some paper and began to read through it, "Looks like fun!" she spoke as she passed the paper off to him. Maigo took the paper and began to glance over the contents of it,

He could hear the voice of some eccentric announcer or salesman in his mind as he read through the contents, skimming over the long lists of things and having his eyes wander more to the schedule itself. He smiled and looked back up to Lin after a brief moment, "Yeah, looks fun, lots to try to do in that time too..." he chuckled a bit. It was also fairly cheap and he was a jounin! Kunai throwing contests be damned, he would certainly win that, show off in the process and win something? And he's been... well, not the worst singer in the world at that, though, that's probably subject to others opinion and not so much his own.

Regardless, he would hand the paper back to Lin if she would take it or fold iup it up and place it into his own pocket to hold on to. Then with his typical bashful and red face, glancing away a bit, he would speak up, "So about this kimono thing... where are we going and/or do you have anything in mind with it?" he would speak up and kinda leave it at that. Shying away from the part where he had no idea what he was doing beyond matching simple colors and all. He'd also probably have mentioned something about whether it would be worth it at all but he was into Lin, and if she wanted him to dress up and all then... well, he'd give it a try at the very least. He could always just make a point of complaining and joking about it after the fact, otherwise he had plenty of ryo to spend. Living alone and never really buying anything himself, and spending at least half his time running missions for village... well, the ryo wasn't much of a concern for the financially illiterate Maigo.

Lin nodded to Maigo as he said that there were a lot of things to do. She would like to enter into the jutsu contest, but she was only a special jounin, not really a good thing to enter into when you're only a special jounin, and Barely one at that. She sighed and scratched the back of her neck, as some bug flew by and landed on it. Inconsiderate little thing that it was. She wanted to do karaoke, but she didn't like the sound of her own voice. The games sounded fun, such as the frog races and such, "I want to at least go through the lighted  gardens and the hedge maze if this is going to be a proper date." She nodded.

"I was thinking about... something with the kimono being an orange or perhaps a green... Though I don't know how to bring out your eyes. Maybe... well there is that one shop that I always see men go to." She muttered to herself, ignoring the proffered paper that Maigo was trying to pawn off on her.

Looking from stall to stall, she sighed, most of the kimonos there were not for men. She was looking for a takeza that would not look too... er... womanly for Maigo to want to try on. It wasn't like there was any difference between a woman's and man's kimono other than the person wearing it, but if he saw women gathering around a shop, he might balk, and then she would be date-less for the night. She finally came to a shop where the shopkeeper was a man that was stretched out in front of his shop lazily, holding a long pipe with a round bowl with his hand delicately and blowing all sorts of smoke rings. He smiled as they approached and issued them inside before speaking, "They're 25% off on all the kimonos, in celebration of the festival tonight. You can come by later, but I won't be here to dress this fine lady in a kimono if I am not. I am assuming that it is for you that we are buying something, since you are the one looking?" Lin mumbled something and pointed to Maigo.

The man smiled and looked him up and down with a hungry look, licking his lips. "Oh, a delectable morsel that you have there, young lady. If he weren't already glued to you, I might just snatch him up myself." He had a sort of predatory stare for a while and nodded to himself, "You can't go wrong with red, especially with those honey-colored eyes of his. So delicious. And it will bring out those lips that he has as well. He might even show you up." The man gave a fake pout and then chuckled to himself and ushered them inside.

Lazily, he got up and would follow them inside, moving like he was a dancer or a skilled fighter, he lounged in the doorway and pointed with the mouthpiece of his pipe, "That one right there, I think. coupled with a black umbrella for his black hair. Mmmm.... that'll be nice."

"I want to at least go through the lighted  gardens and the hedge maze if this is going to be a proper date." he smiled and nodded, a proper date... Well, he wasn't prepared to offer anything less, so he would speak up, "Alright, we'll do those for sure... though we should plan to cover as much of everything as possible..." he chuckled a bit.

Moments later she would respond to his query, "I was thinking about... something with the kimono being an orange or perhaps a green... Though I don't know how to bring out your eyes. Maybe... well there is that one shop that I always see men go to." he blinked rather blankly... he had no idea but folded the flier up into his pocket for the time being and shrugged. It was ending up kinda her idea... well, he'd let her do the directing and follow suit regardless. Maigo just followed after, she looked around from shop to shop, he held his hands in his pockets and let his shoulders slump, occasionally smiling and laughing as he watched her go. Eventually they arrived in front of one shop with a guy smoking in front of it, immediately hit by his sales pitch. Lin mumbled about something and pointed at Maigo, who to this point had been silent, with widened eyes he looked up and smiled, his eyebrows raised simultaneously for a second and fell back down along with his body as he kinda shrugged.

It was then that the shop keeper smiled and... well, looked Maigo over to say the least, "Oh, a delectable morsel that you have there, young lady. If he weren't already glued to you, I might just snatch him up myself." Maigo smiled, well on the verge of laughing, he wasn't bothered by the notion but he certainly wasn't expecting it so suddenly. Still, he just held his smile for a moment and spoke a bit embarrassed, not sure how to actually appropriately respond to any of what he'd said, "Oh... ughhh... thanks.." he laughed a bit and held a hand behind his head before the man continued on. "You can't go wrong with red, especially with those honey-colored eyes of his. So delicious. And it will bring out those lips that he has as well. He might even show you up."

Maigo grew a wide and mischevious grin, he leaned into Lin a little, using his elbow he lightly bumped into her arm and spoke up quietly, "Heard that... I might even show you up..." he would offer with a wide smile, trying to make it clear that he was joking with her. Soon, they were ushered inside, Maigo stayed just behind Lin and let her lead the way inside the shop. The shopkeeper would point with his pipe to a certain kimono, a darker red color, Maigo looked it over, he mentioned something about an umbrella... but, was that necessary? Maigo ignored it and nodded along. The leaning in to lean slightly he spoke up, "What do you think, look alright?" he waited for a response from her.

With Lin's approval, he would take it... or receive it.. or some other method to go try it on? Stumbling his way around the shop to whatever changing room, he would start the process of putting it together and trying it on. It seemed to fit alright but Maigo really was a fool, occasional call-outs to Lin with questions like, "Hey, it's left over right... right? For the whole shirt, chest, upper part of this thing?" Regardless, eventually he would emerge with the kimono on, the deep red color and white underneath, tied tightly with a black belt, and black half sleeves on his arm and a weird yellow logo, probably that of the designer's. Regardless, Maigo would step off to gather his audience's thoughts, but not looking directly at them, instead... the sleeves. Holding his arms out and kinda flapping his arms, trying to get the fabric to extend a little further on his wrist, or maybe it was just because he didn't like long sleeves like this. Especially ones that were so loose...

Lin gave him as much instruction as he asked for and when he came out, she smiled and nodded while the patron of the place whistled and winked, "Do I know how to dress a man or what?" He asked Lin who promptly said, "Yes, now... Maigo, you said something about the sleeves? Stop shaking them up and down you look like a chicken." She sighed and looked into her ryo purse. She was pretty flush with money, so she gave the patron as much as the kimono was worth, ripping off the tag before Maigo had a chance to see it.

"A welcoming gift to Kumogakure." She nodded, "And it will suit you just fine for the festival. Now. What do you want to get next? Perhaps an umbrella like the nice man was saying?" She looked over to the shop keep who was leaning against his deck and taking a long draw of his pipe, while eyeing Maigo. "You might indeed show me up." She giggled. "But we have to complete your outfit for that to happen. Now, are you comfortable with the traditional wooden sandals, or do you want some that are a bit more comfortable? I'll be going in my wooden ones, since I think they're cute." She explained. She was also thinking of what to do with her hair. She had it cut short, so there wasn't much that she could do in the way of down-dos. Perhaps an updo.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she smiled and leaned on Maigo as she tried to steer them out of the door and waited for his response to her questions. It wasn't like they were going anywhere else until he answered. They had so much to do before the festival. So little time. There was only an hour and a half left.

Maigo supposed that the kimono looked good, judging by Lin's nod of approval and the man's whistle and further commentary. Maigo smiled back to Lin while still messing with the sleeves, they still felt too short... but she continued on as he stepped forward, "Yes, now... Maigo, you said something about the sleeves?" he stopped his fidgeting and looked up at her with a blank face, blinking in response, "Stop shaking them up and down you look like a chicken." she continued on. Maigo smiled, chuckling a bit and spoke up in response as he let his arms fall nervously to his side, "That's funny... I kinda feel like a chicken." He held his smile as he moved around and glanced over himself, she sighed at him and his sort of childishness. In his mind, he took it as a gesture to behave himself, which he'd follow, nervously returning to normality.

Lin went ahead and grabbed the tag from his sleeve and paid for it, Maigo watched with a raised eyebrow as he wasn't sure how to act... he was definitely supposed to be paying for himself? Well... he felt like he should have but he watched anyways as she justified it as a welcoming gift but Maigo would be making mental note that he owed her and a decent bit given how nice the kimono itself was. Regardless, Lin didn't hesitate long enough for him to interject before continuing on, "And it will suit you just fine for the festival. Now. What do you want to get next? Perhaps an unmbrella like the nice man was saying?" she glanced over to him but Maigo blinked a second, "Yeah, that's fine I guess, is.. it suppsed to rain or something?" he rather blankly stated. He wasn't thinking about it in any sort of stylistic choice but more as the functionality of it. Still, if a point was made to get it he would do so and drag it around with him.

Lin would giggle on afterwards, You might indeed show me up. But we have to complete your outfit for that to happen. Now, are you comfortable with traditional wooden sandals, or do you want some that are a bit more comfortable? I'll be going in my wooden ones, since I think they're cute." she paused and then shook her head after. Then leaning against Maigo as they headed for a door, Maigo wrapped his arm around her and smiled in return. He spoke up as they left the shop, "I'll follow your lead and get traditional wooden ones as well then..." he held his smile and waited for her to lead them onwards. After all, he had no idea where they were going next, he was just along for the ride at this point while they prepared and waited for the festival to start.

Coincidence and Chance [Lin/No-kill] 80e7a0809db9fe5901fc3d8702d062f9 festival was fast approaching and Lin wasn't going to miss the opening ceremony. She grabbed a hold of Maigo's hand and, giggling, scaled the wall, channeling the chakra into the soles of her shoes. She knew a shortcut to where she wanted to be and she would be damned if she didn't get there with enough time to make sure that they weren't late for it. She could just imagine the excitement on everyone's faces, seeing people that she had seen before and new ones all gathered under the ceremonial banner. The drums would play and the pipers too. The raikage would make an appearance and pick her out of the crowd as the best dressed! Yes, it would all happen like that. If they found Maigo's shoes before the opening ceremony started. The people were all shuffling out of the market place as Lin zoomed across the rooftops, hoping that Maigo would keep up. She knew the shortest way was over the next three houses, and then using the pole that hung in front of her favorite coffee shop to jettison into the doorway of the shoe place.

All too easy. Now, she hoped that Maigo was holding his own. The roofs there were flat on top, but very narrow so as to allow only a little bit of travel on top of the city for the ninjas. It was like a ninja highway, and everyone was racing home to get their best dress or kimono on for the ceremony. Well, Lin wouldn't be the lame duck, not this year. She tore across the roofs, and slid down the steep shingles, slung herself with the pole sticking out horizontally from the coffee shop and right into the door of the shoemakers' store. The man gave Lin a startled look as she browsed the wooden shoes, and if Maigo had indeed followed her, she picked out a pair that would fit him, by having him sit down and bringing him over 10 pair. She looked at the clock, only 1 hour and 15 minutes to go. She hopped from one foot to the other, clearly panicked, and said, "Come on, only an hour and 15 minutes, and I need to get ready too." It was a bit of a whine, and a bit of a plead.

She looked desperately to the shopkeep, and then to Maigo, and then to the shopkeep, back and forth and back and forth. her eyes a flurry of panicked lightning. As soon as Miago had paid for the shoes, she was a flash across the tops of the buildings, jabbing herself with a senbon, she actually made herself faster than she was before. She skipped and hopped across the roofs until she came to where her house was, and then jumped, her arms open and then rolled on the cobble street right up to her door. Gora still wasn't home. She must be playing with the bunnies.

Wrestling with her keys, she opened the door and left it open for Maigo, who was right behind her. She assumed that he would just close it behind him. She wiggled out of her skirt, and tossed her shirt and skirt into the bathroom before rushing into her room and shutting the door in her small clothes, blue like her eyes and lacy. It would be about 10 minutes before she came charging back out of the bedroom, holding two, what looked to be intricate chopsticks with a bell on one of them in her mouth and hopping on one foot to get a sandal on the other one, her belt loosely tied. She stumbled and fell into the bathroom, closing the door behind her with an "I'm alright!"

It wasn't long after they left the shop that Maigo was grabbed by Lin and dragged by his hand up to the rooftops to continue on their adventure. They were running low on time but the rooftop paths were narrow and Lin was... in a hurry now. Maigo kept up as best he could, not being as familiar he lagged a few feet behind but where Lin went for the pole and launched herself to the shop, Maigo took a more... conservative path down. Jumping down in a small clearing and moving his way through to the shop like a more reasonable or... less hurried person might have. Maigo entered in the shop after a short delay, Lin already looking at shoes and such, he stood behind her and then took the first of... many many pairs of shoes that would end up his way.

Taking a seat and going one by one, he would try them on and notice Lin hoping around, looking up to her for a second, "Come on, only an hour and 15 minutes, and I need to get ready too." He chuckled a bit and couldn't help himself, it was... a little adorable watching her rotate around and panic. But he declined to comment beyond his smile and instead hurried the pace, ignoring testing them and going as soon as he found the pair that fit correctly. Taking the shoes to the shopkeep, Maigo took care of the intricacies as Lin seemed ready to take off at any second. As soon as the ryo left Maigo's hand and he turned back to Lin to get moving on, carrying the wooden shoes in his hand, he watched her disappear before him. Flying back up to the rooftops, Maigo blinked for a second and turned back to the shopkeeper with a bit of a smile, "I suppose we're in a hurry and all... you know, festival tonight and such." he laughed a bit and the shopkeeper looked at him with wide eyes. Maigo stopped his laughing and gulped, "Right well... I should get going too... thanks." Maigo would nod and take off, not waiting long enough to see the shopkeeper silently wave him off as he dashed off just as quickly after Lin.

He followed her through the village with some delay, trying to pick up his speed to catch up with her and her rush. He found himself soon at her door again, slowing down and walking in, the door having been left open, as soon as he entered he heard the slam of a door within. Maigo gently closed the door behind him, peaking throughout the apartment with his head first, taking note, Lin seemingly disappeared into her room already. The front door closed Maigo went and took a seat at the chair, changing into the wooden shoes and leaving his standard black sandals on top of his back pack.

It had taken less than a minute to change his shoes and Maigo was ready to go at that point, he looked around the room, it was quite and dimming because of the setting sun. Several minutes later Lin popped out of her room, hopping about, Maigo turned his head up to her immediately but he didn't make out much. She fell into the bathroom, a thud hit the ground and the door closed, Maigo had stood up slightly alarmed and looked towards the door as she called, "I'm alright!" He laughed a bit and stood straight up, he hadn't thought of her as much of a clutz but a mistake fitting the emergency he supposed. Standing up now, he looked around, back to waiting... thinking about how he should have brought a book or something.
