After arresting the thief and receiving their reward, Yasuo walked back to the island. Whilst doing so they procured some supplies for their task at hand. And at the remains of what would be a bridge was only a ferry to which they used to cross the treacherous waters towards land. A land belonging to the infamous Sero Osada Jr. A man highly respected yet hated and feared by the weak. The man was not a kind one, nor would he ever be. He was respectful when needed be and from his history, a vast improvement in attitude. Truly the golden boy of the mist yet not a beloved one as you may think. Common belief was he was unhinged. Unfeeling. A beast. Monster. Death itself. To Yasuo, he was their master, their beloved young lord, and fictional lover. Someone who was a goal they aimed for. A standard they had to surpassed. Plus he had a nice arse to boot haha.
Kiri was but a small village in scale of the massive nation the Water Country was and it was not unreasonable to say it would be impossible to police every inch of it no matter how many patrols were held and outposts built. A string of island nations and horrendous monsoons made the task even harder and thus allowed to various villainous factions to arise which will always plague the shinobi village for years to come, especially for all the times those walls fell and the village burned to the ground; not even the mist could hide the large clouds of smoke. And each time it fell, the underground started to poke its nose into its matter in hopes of gaining influence, money, and prestige. As such, the shinobi were prone to being sent on missions to eliminate these sources. And Sero was one of these commissioned shinobi. However unlike his colleagues he enjoyed the work. Thrive off it even. He lived for the hunt. A carnivore all the way, vicious in name, ruthless in practice, and merciless to the weak. The downfall of various organizations were mostly his fault and in doing so, he acquired numerous enemies who often raided his manor in hopes of someday claiming the bounty the crime lords put out on him.
Of course, seeing as their master Sero was still lurking around and cutting them down, they always failed. However the only thing they succeeded in doing was leaving a mess behind. The manor’s sorry state was not only due to years of neglect but from various raids on the manor. And it was clear that Sero cared more for eliminating the pest rather than the state of manor. Yasuo had dubly hoped those raids would stop or at least lessen since there were more occupants in the manor now but those hopes were dashed away as the staff did not care. Instead it actually increased as the assassins mistakenly believed Sero cared about the state of his staff and whether they lived. No, rather the only thing Sero cared for was his possessions and territory. And if he found someone trespassing...well you get the picture. It was a good thing Yasuo listened to Sero’s advice after the last storm, cosmetic fixes were fine but not if they were torn down easily. Therefore they had the house upgraded with the best amenities as well as the ability to withstand a siege, all while looking its best. Sero’s manor was a fortress if anything.
And what of the failures. Those who tried to take his head and failed? Typically those who died and were subsequently murdered were used to make their meals, at least the spiders and Sero and Yauso. The others did not share their tastes. The others however that Yasuo didn’t immediately get their hands on were taken by Sero and used for ‘decor’; statement pieces really to ward off any unwanted guests. However they had to be cleaned up after sometime since there could always be other to replace them and Yasuo wasn’t too keen on the local wildlife to get used to the taste of human flesh, lest they turn their eyes towards the rest of the staff who were not saved by the pair’s ghastly auras.
So instead, Yasuo took it upon themselves to clear out the bodies with some supplies Sero had given them some time ago:a bag, a grinder large enough to put bodies in and gasoline with matches. It was all they needed and more. Especially since they bodies were too rotten by now to be eaten, no matter how well they could cook. Therefore getting rid of them was frankly the next best thing. But before they could, they spoke out without turning around "You can come out now". Without needing to turn around they could already make out their expression, if that heavy sigh of exasperation was any indication. A girl of platinum silver hair threw themselves at them and onto their back "Yasuo-sama! How could you tell it was us" The named individual chuckled, holding the girl's legs up so they could be better adjusted whilst on their back before smiling at them "It's hard to miss you two" to which Hikari chuckled. Kuro on the other hand looked tired, from their deepened dark circles and their frazzled hair. It appeared that Hikari had kept her twin sister up for ungodly hours and just as they thought they were going to rest, she was dragged off to meet Yasuo. A sentiment Yasuo could sympathize with since they knew all too well Hikari was very forceful in getting their way, especially when the matter concerned them. Yauso ruffled the Kuro's raven black hair, earning a huff before putting Hikari down. "Since the two of you are here and apparently don't have much to do, would you both be as so kind as to help me with some chores?" The request was well received and the ladies agreed making Yasuo glad. For the next hour the roamed the island, picking up bodies and sorting which to burn and which to put in a grinder. The matter only took awhile but by the end of it, Yasuo was satisfied.
Although they knew the bodies would pile up again in a couple days.
