Akira stood on the beach as he looked out over the bay. It was early morning but he was up anyway. His eyes had begun to dull more from a yellow to a nearly silver color and he looked over the sea with them as if he could see beyond the mist that hung at the edge of the bay like a blanket. A fog so thick you could choke on it if you were to take a deep breath. Still it was far enough away at that moment that it wasn't bothering him. More then that was a dozen lines of mist floating just above the water like tendrils as they shifted with the wind. It was a little cold out he admitted but warmer than it had been in the mountains. Almost muggy even in the morning. Mid summer would do that on an island to the south anyway. Still he stood there as he lit the cigarette in his mouth and watched the tide rolling out. It was interesting to him that there was something out there few would believe. Just beyond the bay waiting for him was a city. Something that had sunk below the surface of the ocean and somehow held onto its air so it remained semi dry beneath the surface. He wouldn't of believed it if there wasn't a couple of listed missions involving it. One of which was an S rank mission that seemed to draw his attention to it more than usual. There was something down there wiping out shinobi and so soon to a war as well. He was certainly interested in finding out just what it was and eliminating it. Still going in by himself was a little risky. Not that he really minded. Anything down there he could likely handle on his own.

He waited for the tide to roll out as he slowly walked along the top of the moist sands towards the spot he had been directed to find on the way here for entry to the under water city. As the tide moved further away he moved further forward gradually making his way towards his goal. His dress boots somehow not sinking into the sands though they were getting dirty. He pulled the smoke out of his mouth and flicked it into the retreating tide as he looked about. He was wearing a pair of simple slacks and an untucked button up shirt. Silver in color. On his wrists were a pair of beaded bracelets common for taijutsu users as a style and on his right wrist was a black watch clasped tight. His sunglasses were thin with a light purple tinge that rested lightly on his nose. Honestly he looked like a bachelor taking a morning stroll on the beach and not at all like a shinobi. However he was so much more than that. He was power striding towards an enemy that held no chance against him. A city that did not know as of yet to stay out of his way. Poor souls didn't know who was coming. He smiled a little as he pushed his sunglasses up and spotted the tunnel ahead. It was a good thing too because he had begun to think this was either a prank or a poorly laid trap. Luring him to the water in hopes of some advantage was a bad idea. His own chakra natures of Suiton and Doton seemed to resonate with the whole area and he felt the endless power around him. An infinite well of power he could tap into with a touch. He doubted it was a trap either. Very few as of yet knew his secrets and only Kumo would have reason to try and assassinate him. Surely they would of picked a more secluded location to try. No, this was just another thing he was going to do to earn good will with Kirigakure no sato. He moved to the tunnel and peaked inside looking down into the depths.

Even in the dim light he could tell it was some ruins from the city. A tunnel of some sort still intact? Water still ran in streams down the sides and the rusted remains of some things years passed scattered about. He supposed it was likely going to go through some filtration system left over from an age passed. After all he had been told there were things down there living within. Monsters and immortal beasts. If they were living within the sunken city that likely meant there was fresh water and a food source. He wasn't sure what he would find in there but either way he hopped up over the edge and let his boots land in one of the streams. Gradually he kept his balance and seemed to ride the stream down at an accelerated pace finding it had smoothed out a groove over the years. His eyes watching around him to see a fish or two caught out of the water that had rapidly drained from the area. He himself was quickly approaching the bottom some distance below at an angle. Just outside the bay it would seem but well below the water. Still a light would shine through a hole at the bottom showing signs of the city within. The tunnel would gradually angle out where all the water converged and poured out of the opening. Akira would smile and walk through the opening to see a large dome showing the sea outside and filtering in natural light as well as some crystals providing light from the streets below. Where he stood seemed to be a waterfall into a great lake below that filtered into some sort of plant that turned out the salt from the water. Probably pushing the salt back into the sea. It would be interesting to see the people that kept this place running as it was. See how they managed and perhaps even hide here if he needed to.

Akira stood there overlooking the top layer of the city as he breathed in an air of a civilization long since passed. It was an impressive city and one he admired though the edges had seen some ruin and a lot of the city had toppled. Most of the buildings were little more than husks and rubble. Whatever person or persons it was that kept the machines that kept the city from becoming a submerged ruin and provided air he doubted they lived within. Still it was amazing to look around from so high up. He moved over to the wall nearby and touched it letting his fingers feel its strength and how thick the material was to withstand the pressure of the sea. It felt like a cold glass but one he couldn't break with all his might. At least not without the use of a jutsu. He wished he could figure out how it was made and replicate it but for now chakra reinforced stone was the only route to take. Even as he pulled his hand away it seemed to absorb the oils from his finger prints and clean itself. Was it living glass? It was a little hard to tell really. Either way he watched a school of fish swim around the orb he was within and smiled. It was almost peaceful here. If not for the constant threat of the technology fading and being drowned under the entirety of the sea he might move there. However there were other things to consider. One of which was the immortal monster dog that was rumored to roam around the place. There was a seperate mission for that where one was meant to take it down temporarily. He admitted he wanted to experiment on the thing and find out its secret but even he had to admit that wasn't his purpose there.

Medical abnormalities aside nothing had seemed to approach him upon entering. It appeared the Shinobi that died there hadn't been ambushed upon entering. Whatever the threat was it would lie deeper within. Somewhere in the depths of the city. Good thing for him really as he was a close range specialist. Still he was lucky enough to be in a spot that gave him a visual overview of the place. With his eyes he could see the whole area and all he needed to do with that oppertunity was locate the way further in. For the moment his silver gaze shifted back and forth along the ruins until finally movement caught his eyes. A dog that almost seemed to fade into smoke around the edges was stalking around a hole like it was angry at it. The thing was easily the size of a one story building but something had ticked it off. So that was the immortal beast and low and behold it stood over the hole with steps leading down. Meaning he would have to go through it to get within to his goal. He frowned a little but he recalled it was a lower ranked mission. Something a couple of Chunnin could manage. If that was the case he would handle the beast and quickly. For now he simply needed to make his way down there. With a sigh he ran his hand through his hair and looked back the way he had come. He sure did wish he could just relax but this was a small issue he was doing for Ayakashi while she finished preperations for the coming battle. His own affairs were already in order so even if he passed away in the fight if there was one nothing terrible would happen to the world he left behind. For now though he was gonna beat a bitch and toss her away from the stairs. Beat a bitch being what he assumed was a dog. His own little inner pun. Still he wasn't going to put to much effort into making a joke no one was going to hear. He really needed to bring someone along for the company next time. Not for assistance really but just someone to talk to and catch his humor. For now he just sighed and set to work.

Gradually he hopped down from rock to rock until he hit the street and began to stroll from there. It was pretty calm inside and the air was cool like standing next to a clean river on a cool morning but still not chilling. He felt comfortable in what he was wearing which was nice. The ocean acted as its own insolation this deep so it was comfortable temperature wise. Still he could hear the beast stirring ahead as it smelled him. He was wearing cologne of course so it wasn't hard. Still he waited patiently for it to make its move as he walked towards the stairs. His eyes shifted as he moved around the corner and saw the beast was gone. So it was a hunter eh? Probably coming for him from an angle he wouldn't expect. However he could hear it shifting along the roof top above him. It's weight was its own downfall to stalking its prey in a city. Still it probably didn't know what it was in for. Either way it was supposedly immortal so he didn't need to hold back against it. He heard it launch down at him as the cement cracked on the side of the building from the force of it drawing his gaze up to it. It seemed to fall towards him like a black wave of death and teeth as it roared for its charge. It was after his life and it wanted a bite. Still his hand closed into a fist as it fell before suddenly his hand snapped out and with lightning speed casually snapped across the beasts face launching it to the side at three times the speed it had fallen towards him with the sound of its neck snapping repeatedly. Its head spun around a little further than it should as it smashed into the building and slumped over. It may be immortal but it wasn't strong enough to do shit to Akira.

Akira stood there as his silver eyes scanned across the street watching the medical marvel. It wasn't strong enough to have caused the deaths of so many of Kiri's finest. They were known for military prowess and in all honesty all that thing had going for it was its mass and inability to die. He could see its neck slowly turning back with a constant sound of cracking and snapping as the bones ground against each other in an effort to reset itself. A part of him considered if it could do that with its head ripped off or if its body had been utterly annihilated. Not that he had the ability to do so but it was worth consideration for the time being. The fact remained that it wouldn't of been able to deal the kind of destruction to those of special jounin rank as had been suggested. He hadn't examined the bodies personally but he was sure that something like this would of simply eaten them and little more than scraps of them behind. It was hunting him after all so he could assume it was doing so for food. He hadn't sensed any sociopathic joy from the attack. It was a normal thing for this creature. He almost pitied its lonely exhistence but that was not his purpose here. He may come back to tame it later but for now, A piece of the creature was all he would need. A sizable sample to abate his curiosity. Assuming returning to the surface with it at a later time wasn't something Ayakashi would despise. After all if losing a piece of itself would attract it to the surface it may be too much to ask. However his attention could not remain drawn to the specimen. Something else was coming.

His ears twitched at the sounds of boots coming up the steps near where he had just taken down the beast. It was a patterned standard formation of echoing boots with almost perfect timing by the sound of it which made it near impossible even for him to detect just how many were there. Still he would turn and place his hand on his neck cracking it back and forth. Whatever was coming it was moving with military training. There was a chance that it was a kiri squad coming back from a mission in the same area however they should be mobilizing already. There shouldn't be any forces aside from the reserve defense remaining behind and they should be taking up position at certain fortresses and outposts as assigned. Chances were this was whatever was killing the soldiers. He would wait with a frown for them to make it up the steps and seemed almost bored. It was a shame that they moved in formation instead of as a shinobi division. If he was inclined to he could crush them all at once since as they emerged they stood in two lines. Each of them armed with light armor and spears at about ten in total. Dark leathers and scales with glowing yellow eyes. Intimidating in appearance but the fishmen were too similar to another clan he had met before. However his silver gaze shifted passed them to the red one behind them with a harpoon. Obviously he was the leader of this squad but he too was not focusing up an intimidating presence nor did he seem to see the value of splitting his forces to allow them to function seperately from each other. Instead they shifted and split moving around him in a perfect circle and lowered spear blades at him all at once. The red one claiming out loudly. "You have come here alone to die land walker. As all others before you, you will be ripped apart and sent back to the surface. Poor choice for a final grave."

Akira would raise an eye brow as the fish men nodded to two of his own to do the deed. From either side of Akira a soldier would charge forward at suprising speed to try and flank him with a simple stabbing attack. Their speed was impressive however they were nothing to Akira. Without moving from his spot his hands flashed out and yanked the spears from the grips of the fish soldiers and continued in the same motion to chuck the spears so hard into the chests of the two they went sailing back into the buildings behind them with a whistle and a crash as they were nailed to a wall with their own weapons. Akira tilted his head and looked at the red one before speaking himself. His tone dangerous and calm. "I came here for my own reasons and death was not one of them. You are incapable of winning this fight. Pull your men back and survive or lets get this over with and I end you all." There was some hesitation before the red one clicked his tongue and they shifted back into a full combat stance. All at once they charged forward and Akira sighed at the foolish choice. Only the commander remained behind but all eight of his soldiers seemed to move in slow motion to Akira. Idly he stepped up to each of them in turn and with a knock of his knuckle would crack their skull. Their feet would lift off the ground as they all took a blow that turned their brains to mush and exploded out the side of their head. As fast as they rushed forward they all flew to the side and laid there dead. Akira would jet forward and punch the commander in the chest so hard it collapsed his lungs and heart. With that finished Akira turned and walked away. Heading to fill out his report as the dead laid on the ground. The whole squad wiped out.
