Mission :

It was a typical mission pickup at the Administration building for Genbu. He went inside to grab his assignment as he usually did, nothing out of the ordinary. He opened up the mission dossier and began to read the details of what he was assigned to do. "Seems like all I have to do is shut down a group of kids in the city, shouldn't be too difficult," he thought to himself.  As he read his mission dossier, he noticed he would be working with a partner on this mission, a shinobi named Shitai. He had never seen or heard of this person but he figured some additional support couldn't hurt. He folded up the mission dossier and placed it into his pants pocket. As he left the administration building, he took a quick detour to his apt before heading to the city.

Later that evening, Genbu ventured out to complete his mission and disband the gang of rambunctious kids. As he entered the city, he tried to gather as much intel as he could from the local business owners and other folks around. From the looks of things, most people in the area all seem to corroborate the story that the leader of the group, a chunin punk by the name of Haruki, was stirring up chaos and leading his group of followers throughout the city. He also learned that the group liked to terrorize village folk late at night nears the shops downtown. They would intentionally target shinobi visiting Kiri and preying on the fact that they are outsiders. After he figured out more information about the gang, he set off to the rendezvous point to meet up with Shitai to plan out their mission. When he reached the rendezvous point, he sat himself down around the corner, waiting and watching for his partner to meet him.

The message came by hawk, pecking at her window in the wee hours of the morning. She'd let the bird in only after noticing the note tied to its leg. The message it contained was short, consisting only of a name, a location and a single white feather. It was easy to guess what was expected of her; this man, this Haruki. He'd crossed someone out there, and had been marked.

How easy it was to be marked by the organization; gain too much power? Interfere with thier work? Refuse to cooperate with them? And once you were marked, death could come from anywhere. A bit of poison slipped into your food, the whore in your bed. If you were lucky, death was quick and painless; you never saw it coming. It was simple as someone bumping into you out in the street, sliding a knife between your ribs before you could react and walking off. She had hoped that tonight would be easy. It never was, but one could hope.

The morning had been spent gathering information; the basics that she needed to know to complete her assignment. There wasnt anything special about this man-- he was a Chuunin from what she could gather. He tended to spend his time down in the slums, no doubt frequenting the bars, houses of ill repute and other shit holes down there with a group of friends. As for what his history was, there were rumors of Haruki once being a star ninja, belonging to an infamous clan. As time went on, he had begun to grow upset at the higher powers of the village, accosting travelers and foreign ninja as they ventured into Kirigakure no Sato. Perhaps that was why he'd been marked? The information was not hard to come by; a few informants beat up here, some threats there and it was all hers.

She'd even gone so far as to check the mission board for more information. She'd been in luck; there was a wanted poster for this man. It was low enough ranking that she was able to do it, but it came with a catch. Someone else had signed up for the mission. Normally, the female preferred to accomplish a mission like this alone, but given the target, a bit of help could not, and probably would not be so bad. After making the proper arrangements with the dispatcher, the female left for home to prepare herself for the mission.

~~~
Every movement was well practiced, fluid. Weapons laid out across the white cloth, each unique with their purpose and method. As she picked and chose each weapon, crimson eyes sparkled with excitement. A hip pouch filled with kunai was strapped to her her right side, alongside a slightly smaller pouch that contained the feather and envelope. Final Critic was ready, laid off to the side, waiting for her to claim it before she departed. As for her state of dress, it was the usual: a bandaged body, covered from head to toe in the dirty white gauze with no portion of her features showing, save for her eyes. Even her mouth was covered, but it did not deter her words when she spoke.
After grabbing and throwing her head band on along with her cloak, and a quick glance into the cracked and dusty mirror, before leaping out the second story window with Final Critic in hand. She was not worried about hurting herself -- ever since her rebirth, her body was much stronger than before -- it was a bit heavier, but with that dead weight came better defenses. Go figure.
As for what she was doing in the city; the female had come to the conclusion since her last encounter with someone in the wilderness that she would be better off inside the village. Sleeping out in the Bloody Cemetery was all fine and dandy, but when the odd ninja came through there, they seemed to only want to fight. The female figured that if she wanted to have some peace and quiet, she would have to go where there was none, ironically. And so, a building in the slums was chosen, the squatters and vagabonds kicked out lest they attempt to take advantage of her [ a foolish mistake on their part. None of her organs, especially those worked anymore, and he body was never even warm on most days despite being in direct sunlight]. The place she had chosen was an old factory, perfect for her; It kept the rain off her and it kept people out.
Down to the ground, her form racing through the streets of the darkened village. The world was a blur to her; flashing lights, people talking gibberish, their words indecipherable. She was agile enough, making her way through the streets. Dodge the elderly lady, vault the snot nosed child, slide beneath the moving food cart-- frick, nearly lost a finger. Oh well, gotta keep moving. The wind whipped past her, howling in her ears and almost leaving a 'tunnel' of sorts as she sped through the streets. Maybe it would be easier to use the roofs? Maybe not.
It was not long until she came upon the rendezvous point. A few people were loitering about, not seeming to be doing much beyond taking up space and stealing oxygen... Her 'partner' had to be around here somewhere. As she waited, the bandaged female pulled the hood of her cloak up and over her head...
As he waited near the rendezvous point he scanned the area for his partner, concealing himself in the darkness of the shadows cast by the building across from the spot. He figured they would be wearing their headband, so he kept his eyes on the swivel for one. The night was quite lively, with quite a few folk out and about. Genbu had never been to this part of the city but it seemed like somewhere that gangs might be a bit of a problem. The streets were run down, and the buildings seemed to be tattered. The folk who walked around seemed worn down and depressed. He felt the pain on their hearts as he watched them flock down the street, remaining in numbers for safety. It was evident that this area had been neglected compared to other parts of Kiri. He pondered how did this happen in his home. How could its leaders allow areas like this to occur? How could they allow so many people to live in shambles and tatters? The thought of such negligance angered him knowing he couldn't do anything about the situation, at least not yet. From his surroundings he inferred that this area would most likely be the perfect spot to find the gang of troublemakers as their targets were on the streets and vulnerable.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a blur running through the street, dipping and dodging obstacles in its way. It seemed to be heading toward the spot at which Genbu was supposed to meet his partner. As the blur reached the spot where he and his partner were supposed to meet, the figured slowed down and began to look around. The silouetthe of the being would imply that it was a female, or rather at least it seemed like a female, covered in dirty looking bandages from head to toe revealing only a set of eyes. The girl seemed to be adorned by a Kiri headband with her mouth completely covered by the bandages. She pulled her cloak up over her head seemingly to conceal her identity or make herself a bit more inconspicious. "What the hell is that...."
The girl wasn't the most inconspicuous in her attempt to fade into the crowd, and she didn't seem to notice he was watching her from a distance. She looked around, seemingly looking for someone or something.  He figured that this girl was most likely his partner from the way she had been moving towards the rendezvous point and it was highly probably she was in fact Shitai. As he watched her initial entry he analyzed her movements and determined she probably could be of use on this mission. She moved with intent, although a bit rough around the edges but she could dodge, so that was good. Genbu called out "Shitai" just loud enough for her to hear it hoping that she would find him.
Her purpose was relatively simple; she was a tool. The tip a blade, one that was to remained hidden, tucked away from view until her master wished for her to be known. And when that time came... her purpose was always the same; kill. Her target this day was Haruki; a chuunin that seemed to be taking pleasure in stirring up trouble for travellers. She was supposed to have help on this day; someone who was not apart of her organization-- but she knew how to operate like this. This was not her first rodeo.
"Shitai!"
Perhaps this was him; the man making his way over to her after attempting to gain her attention by calling her name -- she had seen him long before he had noticed her. The female had sharp eyes for someone of her power. Shitai blinked at this man, not saying a word yet but instead looking beyond him, looking about the area for any sign of the persona they were sent to find. When she was sure the target was nowhere near, she nodded to the male. "Metsuryū, Shitai. I can assume that you are Genbu, hm?" The polite thing to do would be to offer her hand for this man to shake, but she did not. No offense to this man, but her hand and skin still felt strange from the last time she was touched.
The bandaged female would allow the male a bit of time to introduce himself if he should chose to do so, before she would speak again. "Have you had any luck in searching for the target?" Her voice was raspy, scratching and low. She could only hope to get this mission done quickly; the bandaged female was still not quite used to being out in the village of Kirigakure no Sato. It gave her strange feeling, like someone was always watching, and it was not  a comforting feeling to know that she was correct in that though. There was always someone watching; a sleeper agent of the organization, monitoring her activities and reporting back.
It appeared that his called had stirred the attention of the bandaged girl. She stared into his his eyes, without saying a word, seemingly looking through him. After a few moments she nodded and the bandaged girl spoke, "Metsuryū, Shitai. I can assume that you are Genbu, hm?" The bandages across he face moved slowly as the words escaped from her mouth, if she even had a mouth as Genbu couldn't tell. "You are correct." he replied. He watched her intently, examining her over and over trying to figure out what her deal was. Something about her seemed off, something almost....inhuman. "Have you had any luck in searching for the target?" flowed from underneath the bandages in a raspy low tone. From her body lanaguage, she seemed uncomfortable being seen almost paranoid even. Genbu wondered just what the hell he was dealing with but he knew he had to focus on the mission and complete it quickly, their target wouldn't stay in the same spot for long.
"Our targets are approximately 3 blocks over to the north. The leader was last seen wearing a green shirt with a Kiri flak jacket over it. He has dark hair with a fair skin complexion. Apparently seems to be fond of taijutsu. His followers seem to be wearing robes with Kiri headbands. They are still just kids however, no need to kill them. We just need to rough them up a bit and they will crumble. If you can keep the followers distracted, I will sneak up on the leader andteach him a lesson. You should approach from the east and ill sneak up on the leader from the west. Should be easy..." After giving his suggestion, he waited for Shitai to respond, seeing if she had any input on the matter. He watched her, she seemed more and more uncomfortable the longer they stood out in the open. "How curious....." he thought to himself.
A two front attack, hm? Seemed plausible, but it would really depend on the number of followers that this kid had garnered for himself. What seemed like an easy mission could always turn south in a sense.
"I say we stick together. Less of a risk; much easier to get to each other if overwhelmed." A valid point. It was much easier to cut and move through three people than twenty. And with Shitai having medical knowledge, it would be easier for her to attempt to heal this male if he should become injured. "However, I will follow your lead on this mission." Since this male knew more about the target in question, it would be better if he took the lead. With a slight nod of her head, the bandaged female grinned beneath the bandages. "Ready when you are."
Provided that this man, Genbu, was ready to begin and depending on his response she would follow him until they were one block away from the target. If he wanted her to go to the east, and take up a position to await his signal. However, if the male decided to take her up on her idea, the bandaged female would follow him closely, unsheathing her Final Critic as she went in preparation. While this male, Genbu, was not inclined to kill thier target, she was; while she could not outright kill the male in front of Genbu, she could easily inflict a wound severe enough upon him to ensure that he would not be able to survive without medical attention of a high enough quality.
The joys of being a medic: They knew what made people tick. They also knew all too well how to make the ticking stop.
As he continued to watch Shitai in her nervousness, she responded to his proposal for a plan of attack, "I say we stick together.  Less of a risk; much easier to get to each other if overwhelmed. However, I will follow your lead on this mission." She seemed geniune in her statement, as much as he could tell from those eyes of hers. With a quick nod of her head, a faint rumble came from under the bandages "Ready when you are." Her willingness to cooperate was appreciated and would give a lot more flexibility to his mission planning. He contemplated whether they should remain as a single unit or split up and attack on two fronts. If they attacked on two fronts, they could catch them off guard but it left each person with no support. If they attacked as a single unit, they had each other for support making combat easier. As he pondered, he weighed his options and decided to use a hybrid tactic.
"We will use the rooftops to scout out our target first. If we find they are scattered, we will attack on two fronts. If they are together we will attack as a single unit, but we need to create a diversion first to scatter their attention. I will make an assessment once we reach our targets. Let's go..."
he spoke softly to Shitai. He quickly dashed up to the roof tops, remaining out of sight signaling Shitai to follow him up. He moved swiftly among the roof tops, making not a sound or leaving a mark like a ghost. As he closed in on where their target was supposed to be, he slowed himself down, creeping towards the next rooftop edge. He stopped himself, assuming Shitai was still behind him shadowing his movements. As he scanned the floor beneath them, he spotted their targets walking together. It seemed Haruki was travelling light today with only 2 other followers with him, one on his right and the other trailing behind in the crowd. This wasn't the most ideal situation, but pretty close. As he watched them move he spoke to Shitai softly as to not rouse any attention to the two. "I will pick off the one in the back first quietly. Use the crowd as cover. Once I take down the straggler, I will give you the signal for when you are to attack the one on the right. Once I see you take him out, I'll handle Haruki. Should be easy enough. Let's move. He quickly climbed down from the rooftop avoiding detection and blended into the crowd.
As he stalked his first target, he moved closer and closer through the crowded street. As he approached the target from behind, he grabbed him by the mouth to prevent his voice from alerting Haruki and placed Hebi on his back. "Not a word, or you die..." Genbu cautioned the kid. He removed his hand from the boy's mouth to avoid any further rousing of suspicion from others in the crowd. He led the boy off to a dark offshoot alleyway. After he was sure the two wouldn't be seen, he swiftly elbowed the boy in the side of the head, knocking him out cold. He dragged the boy behind a dumpster. Genbu left a note for the boy for when he woke, "If I catch you in this gang again, there will be no waking up next time..." After placing the note next to the boy, he quickly moved back toward crowd. He found Shitai in his peripheral vision and gave her the signal to proceed as planned. He waited for her to handle her role, hopefully with some stealth as to not garner attention.
A hybrid method of thier two plans? Interesting, to say the least. The bandanged female nodded slowly to show that she understood her role, following the male as he made his way to the roof nearby, making sure to keep him in sight as he moved. This guy was quiet, almost too quiet. Something she notives was that this man was completely silent in his movements, something that she found completelty impossible. There as not not even the rustling of his clothing as he moved. Was this some strange ability of his? It was interesting, to say the least, but this was not something for her to to get hung up on.
The bandaged female followed behind closely this man, watching and waiting. Once they arrived at the  designated location, the bandaged female removed the scythe from her back, and set it on the rooftop next to her. Normally, she would have gone ahead and made her move, but this man, Genbu, wanted to make an assessment of the situation before they engaged with thier target. The bandaged female was almost amused, until she remembered why -- this man, surely he was 'human', correct? He had to worry about things like breathing, bleeding, and tiring. While the bandaged female could fight as long as her body retained chakra, this one could not. Her muscules did not tire; whatever strength she had in them was what she had to use. But this man, he was human. Alive. Mortal. He needed to be careful with how he approached things. Careful planning, which was what he was doing at that very moment. The bandaged female watched carefully as Genbu assessed the situation below them;  It seemed Haruki was travelling light today with only 2 other followers with him, one on his right and the other trailing behind in the crowd.
"I will pick off the one in the back first quietly. Use the crowd as cover. Once I take down the straggler, I will give you the signal for when you are to attack the one on the right. Once I see you take him out, I'll handle Haruki. Should be easy enough. Let's move."
That was the plan? It seemed ..weird to her, but then again, she was used to not having to form one; she was not going to fault this man on his own. She watched on silently as the male made his way down the building, moved through the crowd and took out his intended target. The bandaged female continued watching as the male 'escorted' his target off to an alley, and then emerge a moment later without him. Once the male joined the crowd, the signal was given.
Shitai nodded, and looked down upon the situation once more. To her, the second target was a tad too close to Haruki for her tastes. There had to be another way to go about this; wait, there was. The female took a deep breath, molding the spiritual negative healing chakra within her body and exhaled a thick mist down over and onto the crowd. In her mind, she knew this would count as friendly fire, but that was something she was willing to live with. It would hurt, but so long as this dude kept his head about him, they would be fine.
It would take only a moment for the mist to drift own over the crowd, but the effect was immediate; the chorus of pain would sing unto heaven, letting her know to begin. She knew her chakra and jutsu well; not only did it drain chakra, but it normally caused immense amounts of pain to those whom it came into contact with. Given that this was a mist, it was vapor, and therefore able to seep through most forms of clothing, and because of the thickness, it effectively blinded the crowd for the moment.
A moment was all she needed. From her vantage point, above the crowd, she could see them where they could not see themselves. A chakra string was thrown out, connected to the building across from her; the female leapt from the rooftop that held her, eyes locked onto her won target as he cried out in pain. Down the bandage female would swing, snatching her target from the crowd with no one else the wiser. With her prize in hand, the chakra string would retract, drawing her back up to the roof with her victim; a man now held in a sleeper hold, struggling to free himself as his brain blacked out from lack of oxygen.
Down below, the mist would linger, still causing pain to those whom were in it. The bandaged female would drop back down into the crowd once her target passed out, hood drawn over her head once more.
As he gave the signal to Shitati to proceed with the mission, he noticed something odd as he watched her. She took in a deep breath or what seemed like one, he couldn't clearly tell as he could only see her chest rising like she was inhaling. As she exhaled, he saw a a mist expel from mouth down on the crowd below. "Hmmmm, what is she doing, that's definitely gonna alert him something is awry. Random fog isn't the most inconspicuous thing we could be doing right now...." he mumbled to himself. As the fog draped over him and the crowd, he immediately realized this was no ordinary fog. His body began to feel sluggish, with a painful sensation covering his body as the mist drifted across it. It seemed as though his chakra was being drained from his body by the mysterious fog. "What the hell is this.....Did she not realize i'm down here as well?" he thought to himself annoyed. "I need to finish this quick and get out this damn fog...damn this shit hurts"
As he watched her figure turn into a blur, he noticed it flash before his eyes scooping up the figure he assumed was now the second target of the group. That was his que to continue. He moved forward towards his target, slightly disoriented and in pain from Shitai's fog. Knowing he would have to quickly take out the target, he didn't waste any time. The pain had begun to reach the point of agony as he reached his target. With haste, he grabbed Haruki and placed Hebi at his throat. "Stop the gang or I will kill you right now....do you understand?" Genbu cautioned him. Haruki nodded his head up and down quickly, writhing in pain from the fog. Genbu's pain continued to soar, growing deeper the longer he remained in it. "If I catch you again, let's just say there will never be a third time..." Genbu spoke in an annoyed tone as he pulled Hebi from his throat and bashed him in the temple, knocking him out cold. "Now to find Shitai and tell her to knock that shit off...."
Where the hell was this guy? With how fast he took down the first man, surely he was done by now? She could not just wait down in this mist for him foever; he would eventually run out of chakra if he was not careful. Perhaps he would return to the site of thier meeting? She frowned some; she hated the idea of leaving him alone like this, but he'd chosen this path. He decided he wanted to be the one who took down Haruki.
With a leap from the crowd to the side of the building nearby, the female would quickly make her way back to thier original position. As she climbed, the looked back into the mist and gave three sharp whistles. Hopefully, these would alert her comrade to her location. Without bothering to wait or check to see if he'd heard, the female finished making her way up to the roof, snatched up her Final Critic, and set off to thier former rendevous point. If the male figure out the situation, and came to the conclusion to meet her back at thier starting location, she would be waiting. If not, well then she hoped he would realize quick enough to get out of the mist before it drained the male of his chakra.
Hopefully, he would not be long. She still rather did not like being out like this, much less working with people. Nervousness it was not, she just generally did not like people. People were cruel, selfish, and generally had no redeeming qualities as a whole species, and she generally just wanted to avoid them...
In the midst of his current situation, He knew he needed to find his way out of this abomination of a mist. His vision was impaired but he knew the general direction of where he needed to go. He felt bad for the others in the crowd but he had a mission to complete and he was determined to make it out alive. He felt his way through the crowd and made it off into an alleyway where the mist had dissipated. When he had finally escaped the grasp of that awful mist in the alleyway he stopped for a few moments to regain himself and readjust to being in normal air. As he recomposed himself, he pondered about what he should do. He hadn't been able to find Shitai in the mist and they had not set up what to do in the event they had gotten split it. Perhaps next time he would devise a more in depth strategy involving exit strategies and emergency options. "Tis a learning experience I suppose..." Genbu thought to himself. While he weighed his options, he figured the best course of action was to return to the rendezvous point and see if Shitai had returned there. With a swift jump, he jumped up onto the rooftops and headed back towards the rendezvous point with haste. His body felt strange after being subjected to that awful mist, his chakra reserves felt lower than they should have been given he hadn't used any jutsu during the encounter.
As he reached the rendezvous spot, he noticed Shitai was waiting there with her scythe. He never saw what exactly she had done with her target but he didn't see any blood on the blade so he assumed she hadn't killed him. As he approached her, she made no noise and only nodded her head in confirmation that the mission was complete before disappearing into the night. He was going to tell her off but it appeared he would not get the chance. "Damn that Shitai. Friendly fire is not cool.O well, at least the mission is complete..." he sighed. As he watched her disappear into the night figured he should head back to turn in his mission, but first he would check back in on the area and verify the gang had dispersed as well as check to make sure those caught in the crossfire were OK.
He hopped back up to the roof tops and began to trot among them, taking his time on the way back to regain his strength. He jumped from roof top to roof top gracefully with each traversal. As he reached the spot where the mission had taken place, it appeared that the mist had dissipated. People were tending to each other or at least those still left in the area as it seemed there happened to be some medical nin nearby. He dropped down into the alley way where he had left the first of the 3 boys. The boys body was no where to be found and it appeared that the note he had left was missing as well. Hopefully the boy had read it and taken his message to heart. Genbu exited the alley way walked out into the street, offering assistance to anyone who needed it but it seemed that everyone had either left or was hesitant to speak. Given the situation which had just passed, he couldn't blame them for their hesitation. He continued his to walk and look for the Haruki and his crew but it seems they had vacated the area. He hoped they had learned their lesson, and it was in their best interest that they headed his cautions. Once he was certain that the gang had been dispersed, at least for tonight, he made his way back towards the Administration building to turn in the mission and get his ryo. He figured he could take his time on the way back, he was by himself now as Shitai had left him even before they discussed the outcome of the mission. It didn't matter though as he could still claim credit for a mission complete whether she came with him or not to turn in the mission. He wondered just why she was so paranoid all the time. She hardly spoke the entire mission and obviously didn't like to be out and about in the city. He was curious about who she really was or rather...what she really was. Something was off about her, almost as though she were some type of zombie of sorts. Maybe if they were paired up again he would seek to find out just who she was and why she was so paranoid. "O well...at least I can turn in this mission now" Genbu muttered under his breath as he reached the Administration building. He walked inside, turned the mission in, and walked right back out the door ryo in hand. "Mission complete..." he sighed, "Mission complete."
