Kurai
D-rank
Hiccupping grunts was the soundtrack to the struggle, along with the shuffling of dirt and the tinging of metal. This ambiance was all to common to the tested Kurai. Despite his ninja rank being only Chuunin, he has shown multiple times that he can be trusted by his superiors in the heat of combat. His status among his comrades elevated even further due to the happenings and events last week that plagued him. Drama and combat seemed to swirl around him during last week. Over that course he displayed great resolve and impressive talent. Kurai was always quick to give thanks to his teachers; such as Nanashi, and the Tsuchikage. When people hear those senseis... they're not surprised about his skill. Another common reason Kurai was respected was because of his bloodline... Uchiha. He disliked that. Gaining respect that way was all too easy. Kurai is very prideful of bloodline though and does not apologize, but he does desire to be recognized more for his skill than his bloodline.
The soundtrack had been changed. Flickering flames, whisked over the earth and flailing wildly. A sizzling sound increased in volume as the flames were dowsed. This was the soundtrack for a very important Iwagakure mission that had slipped into a direct confrontation. Kurai and three other Iwagakure shinobi were in a duel against Two strong Ronin. The three shinobi with Kurai were Special Jounin rank. They were still deferring to Kurai. "These guys are a difficult pair, since they complement each other so well. But listen closely."
The rogue ninja were defeated and on their way back to the village, they were confronted by more company. Two men now stood in their path. Kurai was taken aback by their style. "Those are some nice jackets you have there." Kurai was really fond of leather. "What do you want. I do apologize for my bluntness, but you have caught us at a bad time."
The two men looked at each other and smiled. "We are apart of the new organization that has been established in your village with the consent of your Kage. We requested to shadow you four on your mission, so that we can offer one of you a position in the Organization."
"An organization that has recently been established... are you apart of..."
"Yes. The mercenary corporation, Iron Falls. Based on our assessment.... Kurai.... Han Kurai, you lived up to your scouting report and we would like to personally offer you an invitation."
"I have contemplated the joining of your.. well, our corporation for some time. I have been notified that I was an candidate. My goals as a shinobi is to improve village relations through politics and literature. I have concluded that Iron Fall could be an adequate conduit for that as the political aspect of your organization is quite interesting. So yes, I accept your offer."
A couple of days passed. Kurai decided to enjoy himself after an arduous mission. Also, during the couple days, he packed up his most needed belongings. He was going to be moving into a building that was refurbished just for Iron Falls members. What Kurai was looking forward to the most, was the other people he would meet within the organization. It was quite a diverse organization that used people of all skill sets.
Kurai's bags had been taken inside. He was now walking up the stairs to the entrance of the Stone Hand Chapter house. It was a strong and tall building. It sent a message of fortitude and diligence. Kurai would have appreciated a dash of flash though. The inside was more of the same. Very substance oriented, much like the stereotype of the village. He went to his room and sat on his made up bed. Pretty comfy. He gazed out his window and imagined this being a familiar view for him. After getting a feel of his sleeping quarters he went to explore the rest of the building.
The bland dining area bore no life at all at the moment. His curiosity of the cuisine that would be offer was too much too resist. He perused the menu, placed his order and then took a seat. As he awaited his dish, he contemplated further how he could make the use of his time in Iron Falls. There was definitely a lot to explore and a lot to gain. Kurai was very much eager for the engagements to come.
Kurai heard some chatter coming from a distance. The room bore an emblem resembling something that might pertain to medicine. The chatter increased in volume. Then suddenly a person stumbled out of the room wearing a nurse uniform. Kurai's eyes squinted. At least I am not alone. Still, what is going on over there. Kurai's attention was diverted by the arrival of his food, but he was sure to be tuning back in. He might even interject just for fun.
