A small bell rang softly as a petite figure pushed her way into the building, pupils dilating in order to adjust to the dimly lit restaurant, which was a stark contrast from the brightness of the outdoors. The first note that the woman made was that the establishment did indeed live up to its reputation of being fine dining. The interior was tastefully designed to appeal to the eye, and already, the fragrant scent of various spices lured new customers in by the nose. Keiko had heard of this restaurant since day one of being in Sunagakure. Most of the reviews raved about the flavours and appeal of the place, marking it as one of the best places for a fancy date. Perhaps it was the fact that she liked to reject anything that was too overly hyped that she had yet to give the restaurant a try. Or perhaps it was because she had no one to go with.

Regardless of her original setbacks, she now found herself at the very doorstep of Dragon's Tongue, ready to give it a try herself. "Welcome to Dragon's Tongue!" She was greeted with a lot of - too much, really - enthusiasm right at the door by a woman not much older than herself, with light brown hair and bright green eyes that beamed at the newest customer. "Table for... err, one?" Her bright tone faltered as her eyes moved to look behind Keiko, seeking further company. It was difficult to discern whether the server was feeling embarrassed because she had assumed there would be more than one person, or if she was silently judging that very fact. Either way, she would be met with a steely gaze that accompanied a nod from Keiko. Meekly, she grabbed a menu set and led the magenta-haired kunoichi to a small table with two seats. Slipping into the comfortable chair, Keiko took a while to look around. It was relatively quiet at this hour, which was surprising, considering the fact that it was now about 5 in the afternoon.

Eventually returning her attention to the menu in front of her, Keiko scanned the drink selection, deciding that she should first cool herself down before trying out their signature spicy curries. To be honest, she wasn't a fan of spicy foods - her spice tolerance was nothing to be proud of. But she could appreciate the flavours, and that was what she was here for. Eventually settling on an iced tea, she began idly flipping through the menu. So many choices. None that she was familiar with. Letting out a sigh, she ran her finger along the menu, scanning the ingredients of each dish in disinterest.

It was often the case that Seiryū ventured out of his home to eat a meal or two each day, rather than cooking up one for himself. There was reasoning behind that choice, as this was one of the few things in life he let himself divulge in financially. His home and clothes were things he bought due to necessity and most of the items he possessed were never of much value. Having valuable goods and living within the slums of Sunagakure no Sato would be enough to deter anyone from keeping valuable items there for a distinct period of time, no matter the importance; physical or emotional. Seiryū practically grew up in the slums after his father had decided he no longer wanted him, shortly after the boy turned eight, and placed Seiryū in the orphanage like the thought process behind it barely occurred to him about what he was doing to a child’s life. Since that moment, Seiryū felt like an outcast on all ends. No longer was he able to identify with the clan that ‘raised’ him nor did he relate to the other children within the orphanage, simply due to his parental heritage being superior to theirs.

What brought Seiryū to The Dragon’s Tongue tonight – it was not his first visit here – was both his hunger and his sub-par cooking skills; if one could count heating up meals and arranging sandwiches as cooking. As he entered the restaurant, he could immediately tell it was less densely packed than his last visit here. That arrangement had him have to have a meal with a total stranger, seeing as how the establishment lacked enough seating for the traffic they were generating on that specific day. It wasn’t that the company was unpleasant; he surprisingly got along with the person, but simply the fact what he had though to happen did not come to pass. Seeing as how it was an hour before the true dinner time traffic came for the restaurant, Seiryū hoped that they would have enough seats for him to have a peaceful meal where the only thing that would bother him would be the thoughts running through his head.

Seiryū was greeted by the female hostess (who just seemed to be returning to her post), one who was around his age, light brown hair and green eyes. As Seiryū made his way towards her, she greeted him with a far too cheery “Welcome to Dragon's Tongue!” As he was about to mention a table for one something seemed to dawn on the woman’s expression as she stated aloud to follow her. Before he could even raise an argument, the woman was on her way with a menu, leading him to a table that sat another individual. A woman. One that was too familiar from two days ago. Seiryū didn’t have time to correct the hostess as she placed the menu at the only other seat at the table for two, and looked at him expectantly. “Your waiter will be with you both in just a moment.” And then she darted off. Seiryū sighed visibly, it simply was not his week it seemed. “I apologize for this… predicament… and the last one. I’ll go see about fixing it, so you can have a peaceful meal.” Seiryū would say calmly, making a grab for the menu to see about fixing this whole ordeal.

Just as she was about to flag down a waiter to place her drink order - she never really was a patient one, given how quiet the restaurant was, it wouldn't have taken them long to approach her anyways - the hostess was back. Back with another individual in tow. At first, Keiko took no particular notice of it. After all, there were tables all around, and there was no reason for her to come back to Keiko's table. It could just as likely be the table behind her, or next to her. Surely with all the vacant tables around, they wouldn't place another customer down with her. Keiko's arm was just rising into the air when it froze in response to her own surprise. The man that was following the hostess was terribly familiar. It felt like she had seen him before, maybe once or twice. Her brows furrowed, and unknowingly, her arm had dropped back down to rest at her side. White hair, relatively tall figure. Where could she have seen him ... ?

As they drew closer, a thought struck her. I bet he has purple eyes ... And yeap, he does. Her thought confirmed as she made eye contact, an internal groan rang through her head. This guy. Looking at his response, it was clear that this was yet another unpredictable situation in which neither of them really had fault in. This hostress really was something. Of all mistakes to be made, she had managed to put the very same two people who had recently found themselves in a rather awkward misunderstanding back in the same situation. Strange how the world worked. Keiko wasn't really a firm believer in fate, but it was times like these that made her question everything.

“I apologize for this… predicament… and the last one. I’ll go see about fixing it, so you can have a peaceful meal.” The man made a move to leave, but without even thinking, Keiko reached out to grab at the menu he had just picked up in an effort to stop him. Perhaps sitting with him won't be too bad, now that he wasn't mistaking her for someone else and trying to drag her back as a mission trophy. She wouldn't mind the company, and if he was from Sunagakure, it would be nice to get to know a local. "It isn't a problem. Your apology isn't needed, but your name ..." She trailed off without completing her question, but looked at him expectantly. Now that she thought about it, she really didn't know his name, and neither did he. For all she knew, he was still mentally calling her the 'other' Takayama Mayuko, and that thought was quite unpleasant. No offense to the other way. Not much, anyhow. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she waited for his response. Maybe he would refuse just to get out of this awkward situation, a course of action that she would not blame. Realizing that her hand was still insistently holding on to his menu, she let go, giving the poor man some space. "Of course, if you still want to move, feel free to. She added hastily, realizing how forward she was being.

The light resistance he felt as he was about to pull away with the menu wasn’t opposing, yet it was firm in its resolve. He followed the hand that held on to the other end of the menu, already knowing who it would be, but allowing his gaze to travel from her hand and continuously through until he found her purple orbs once more. There was no mistaking it on Seiryū’s end that this was the very woman whom he had embarrassingly mistaken for someone else just a couple of days ago. After Seiryū had realized the error he made between the two women, there was nothing he could do to qualm that slight embarrassment he felt with being associated with that particular scenario. The walk back to the village with the real Takayama Mayuko had been… uneventful, though the woman hadn’t stopped her endless questioning of his own life. All of the answer he provided the woman were one word answers that she wished to delve in to and Seiryū wish to avoid.

Her eyes were locked on to his for a period of time, Seiryū’s own looking back at her curiously, wondering why she would be stopping him from departing. After all, from their last encounter, Seiryū highly doubted that the woman who briefly attacked him just two days ago would want to keep his company here at a restaurant. In fact, Seiryū simply assumed she would rather prefer his presence to be anywhere else but here at The Dragon’s Tongue. "It isn't a problem. Your apology isn't needed, but your name ..." Instead of hearing any disdain from the first thing she said to him, the request she asked of him was quite a bit of a surprise factor for Seiryū. It was not a problem? His apology was definitely needed especially after their previous meeting. But, it certainly was a problem from what Seiryū assumed of her. Though he couldn’t read thoughts, perhaps she had come to understand his mistake? Though it was an embarrassing one when one was tasked to find an average, middle aged woman rather than a fairly attractive young one. The expectant look she shot his way was enough to convince him that he may as well introduce himself, so she’d have a face to put to the folly he had committed. Normally, if this was under different circumstances he’d have accepted, likely had a good time, but this wasn’t exactly normal all things considered. In the past, he would have attributed this to something more than requiring just a name, but it was no longer the case for Seiryū. He figured, if they were to dine together, she may as well know his name.

“Imada Seiryū.” He supplied with a hint of curiosity in his voice mixed with the apologetic nature from the previous event. There wasn’t much else he would supply for this current moment, until he took his seat. Starting to feel a bit self-conscious of his own clothing, a bit more casual than what the dinner time hour asked for. What he wore was ¾ sleeve navy blue shirt, khakis, and black shoes, none of which were fancy, but passable enough to attend to the pre-dinner hour. As she let go of the menu, Seiryū put the menu back down on to the table, just as she stated, "Of course, if you still want to move, feel free to. He figured he may as well join her, her company couldn’t possibly be as bad as the actual woman he had been tasked to escort the other day. With a smile, Seiryū would take the seat that would be for him, slowly easing himself down. “Well, I suppose it’s only fair I get your name… unless you wish to be given the name Takayama Mayuko for the rest of this dinner.” An easy grin fell on to Seiryū’s face, falling back in place from his past and the easy demeanour he had then. It was always present; it just only rose up on the fewest of occasions when his mind wasn’t riddled with events of the past. Today there were none so far.

She couldn't place whether she truly was surprised that he had chosen to sit back down at her table. After all, she did make the request herself in a way, but her expectations were seated on a fence, unsure of what the man would ultimately decide to do. Even with a situation as minor as this one, Keiko had long since learned that preparing for disappointment is always better than having high expectations of others. People were always unpredictable, and she was no exception to that generalization. Expectations, promises ... As pessimistic as her mindset was, Keiko had been disappointed and betrayed too many times to count, which in its own way provided justification to the way her mind worked.

Now that she wasn't feeling threatened by this man, she found herself studying his features closer than every before. His hair might be different than the day they had first met, but that might just be the way it fell messily atop his head, the silvery-white shade darkened in the dimness of the restaurant. It was longer, but not long enough to cover his eyes. The purple tint in his eyes was fascinating to look at. At first, she had thought they were similar to her own, but now she could see that they were more purple than hers, which had more of a pink mixed into her irises. Even with most of his arms covered in the semi-long sleeved shirt that he was wearing, one could obviously tell the lean muscles underneath, which now only continued to reconfirm that he was indeed a shinobi.

“Imada Seiryū.” Keiko started as he offered his name, pulling her attention away from her brief study of his physical features. Seiryū. It had a nice ring to it. She shifted in her seat, subtly adjusting her dress as she did so. It wasn't often that she wore considerably feminine outfits like a dress, but the weather and the fact that she hadn't planned on doing much today except explore more of the village prompted her to do so. It was a nice white-based floral dress that she had found in a local stall a few evenings ago, which is matched with mid-length grey leggings and a pair of black flats. Fashionable yet comfortable, she liked to think. “Well, I suppose it’s only fair I get your name… unless you wish to be given the name Takayama Mayuko for the rest of this dinner.” In the time that she was adjusting in her seat, he spoke again, following his words with a smile. So he could smile, nicely at that. It wasn't hard for Keiko to return the smile, dipping her head slightly in acknowledgment of his name and his request in return.

"No ... I don't believe I quite like that name, no offence to your client. Kitahara Keiko." Her long magenta hair - the source of much of the confusion last incident - flowed freely down her shoulders, no longer partially hidden by a large hat. ”It is nice meeting you under slightly more pleasant circumstances, Seiryū-san.” She added, referencing, but not directly bringing up, their previous altercation. Speaking of last incident … she scanned him once more, looking for the minor injuries she had inflicted on him last time. Hopefully by now they were mostly healed. But before she could inquire further into her concerns, the waiter approached, and Keiko momentarily diverted her attention to place her order, having chosen a menu item at random. The waiter then turned his attention to Keiko’s new companion, not realizing that the man had yet to really study the menu himself.

He felt eyes on his person after he had supplied his name to the young woman, knowing it was her and not someone else simply due to the fact the few occupants of the restaurant were occupied themselves with their own meals and company. Seiryū heard the light shuffling of a person, the other occupant of the table he was given by their… hostess who was quick at coming to conclusions of her own. There was the option available to Seiryū to remedy this situation the hostess placed them in, but it also gave him the opportunity to try and make up for their previous encounter – and he assumed she wished to do the same after the ice shards she had thrown his way after their altercations with one another. He couldn’t fault her for it after he thought about it the next day – yesterday. Seiryū never expected to cross paths with her again or at least this soon, but it seemed his ability to predict the future was dismal at best.

If he wasn’t any wiser and privy to the knowledge of what she could do, Seiryū would assume she was a civilian, though he often felt that discrimination wasn’t something he should utilize at any point in his lifetime. Her complexion gave him the sense that she had never seen the sun, but he knew that to be a lie simply due to finding her by the Meeting Cactus. Her appearance had certainly deceived him the previous day and while it certainly wouldn’t get the jump on him again, it was a bit difficult for him to piece together for some odd reason.

Having received a smile in return gave Seiryū reason to believe that having dinner with her would be pleasant and less uneventful than the last time they met. After all, getting attacked in a restaurant was the last thing Seiryū wished to happen. “No ... I don't believe I quite like that name, no offence to your client. Kitahara Keiko. It is nice meeting you under slightly more pleasant circumstances, Seiryū-san.” His grin eased a little, though it still remained apparent as she mentioned that she didn’t like that name. Seiryū wasn’t exactly used to having honorifics attached to his name, mainly because the majority of the time he spent was in the slums, where his home was located. If he wasn’t home, he was either training or out on a mission. Lately, Seiryū had given himself more free time, time to enjoy things and it was… pleasant, even if he felt it was undeserved for him to attain. A light laugh escaped him at the mention of it being ‘slightly more pleasant’.

“I’ll take ‘slightly more pleasant’ over whatever else you had thought from the other day.” His pleasant expression remained, though it became more relaxed as he spoke up. Noticing her eyes focus more upon the areas where he had been injured by her technique, Seiryū was quick to brush it off for nothing. They had stung for the day, though he did have the opportunity to bandage them up. The marks still remained; they would scar like the numerous ones he attained from other past encounters as well. Not having the opportunity to wave off her concern immediately, for their waiter appeared, Seiryū waited for Keiko to place her order before ordering his own meal. He simply ordered the first thing that popped in to mind, which happened to be the Green Curry. As the waiter took his order and left for the kitchen, Seiryū turned his attention towards Keiko. “Keiko-san, don’t worry about my injuries. I’ve dealt with worse. They weren’t exactly the most life threatening.” Making sure that he relayed to her that her technique did nothing to his physical capabilities, they only made certain motions a bit more awkward to perform until they fully healed up. His eyes slowly drifted to the wrist he grabbed the other day, should it be visible to his eyes, making sure that he hadn’t used an unnecessary amount force when he made a grab for her. “So, the ice… how exactly did you do that?” There was a slight wonder in Seiryū’s eyes as he tried to figure out how she could conjure up ice in the climate provided by the Land of Wind.

Keiko grinned cheekily at his response to her reference, noting that he was keeping the atmosphere positive by maintaining the same casual tone as she was as they lightly skimmed over the otherwise touchy subject of their previous encounter. He didn’t seem all that bad, now that they were talking face to face in a much more docile circumstance.

“Keiko-san, don’t worry about my injuries. I’ve dealt with worse. They weren’t exactly the most life threatening.”Wounds from battle were a common occurrence. And being a medic-nin, she had seen her fair share of injuries far beyond repair. So her concern for him was not as great as someone who couldn’t assess injuries, but it was concern nonetheless. Given that she herself had inflicted the wounds on him, she knew exactly the maximum extent of damage that she could have caused – and it was certain that he would be fine. Still, it gave her much relief that he was able to provide reassurance to her that he was fine. His eyes moved quite obviously down to her wrist, which was resting on the table, and after a moment of confusion, she realized that he was reciprocating the concern. Rather than verbally address it, she gave him another smile, waving away his concerns.

“So, the ice… how exactly did you do that?” Ah, there we go. To some extent, she was expecting this question. There had been several other incidences where she had used her abilities while in Sunagakure, and it was always met with surprise, wonder, and sometimes fear. Given the climate and overall environment, it was rare to see someone with the Aisu bloodline running around, and not many people had ever laid eyes on her hyōton ability at work. Although she was now on more positive terms with this man … she wasn’t going to readily offer up information on her abilities just yet. ”I believe there’s a phrase … an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Or something like that.” She began in response, ”You got to see my abilities at work, so wouldn’t it be fair for you to give me something on yourself before you interrogate me?” She kept her tone light, not at all wanting to come across as calculating. It could be said that they were starting a game, sharing information on equal terms over an early dinner. And what she said was true – he did not block her ice senbon like she wanted him to, with chakra. As a result, she still knew little of his abilities, and it didn’t take a genius to know that he was starting off their physical confrontation last time with restraint.

Keiko had no qualms about revealing bits of her identity. After all, she was legally a traveller into the village of Sunagakure, and she wasn’t a wanted fugitive. But revealing her abilities was a different story, and if he was to gain anything from it, she wanted the same. Tit for tat.

Noting that her wrist was fine, or at least it physically was healthy and Keiko’s smile utilized to wave away his concerns, Seiryū nodded slightly in return. It was a slight relief to him that she was fine from his insistence from the events that had transpired previously, even if he was a complete stranger to her.

His curiosity towards her ability to produce the ice was due to varying reasons, though they mainly revolved around his own curiosity about how she had been able to create it from nowhere. Seiryū figured it was due to some unique interaction between the elements, yet the one’s he assumed were used were one’s he had yet to know how to utilize. Currently, his own skills were limited to both Raiton and Katon, in somewhat limiting capacities. His heritage, one he despised due to personal reasons, made it somewhat difficult for Seiryū to access ninjutsu as well. From the moment he could remember, the utilization of weapons and sealing had been ingrained in his education. Instead of utilizing chakra like most individuals have done with ninjutsu, Seiryū learned to work around that one detriment imposed upon him.

”I believe there’s a phrase … an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Or something like that. You got to see my abilities at work, so wouldn’t it be fair for you to give me something on yourself before you interrogate me?” Well, he figured he wouldn’t get out of this without divulging a bit into the skill set he possessed. As for what he could show her before beginning his ‘interrogation’ was a bit limiting as it stood. He hadn’t bothered bringing any of his weaponry with him, seeing as how bringing a bow and arrow to a restaurant would likely end up with him being barred entrance, at least with his weapons that is. He still had his kunai on his person, solely for defending himself should the odd, rare occasion occur when he would actually need to utilize it on a peaceful night out.

Seeing as his weaponry was out of the question, that left Seiryū with the option of showing her his proficiency with seals. There wasn’t much Seiryū could show her with seals without having some other presence available. He lacked the scrolls to store weaponry, though he knew most shinobi were able to learn to seal weapons and other items within scrolls. As that was likely not something particular of his own abilities, he tried to figure out what would be personable to him that he could show her. Anything relating to his clan was out of the question, as even letting one more person know about his heritage was a bit too much for him. Seiryū wished to keep that a secret for as long as possible. Mentally going through the various things he could possibly show to Keiko, he settled on two different techniques he could show her; the first fairly simple that it resonated with the Generic Sealing Technique most individuals who utilized chakra had access to. The second was more practical and combat oriented that Seiryū could show her, though he doubted there would be an opportunity for her to see it in action, as it would require a chakra enhanced technique to be thrown towards it.

“It’s only fair that I show you something as well.” The implication of his words didn’t pass by his head; Seiryū knew what he said and how it could potentially be interpreted if one wanted to delve their mind that way, though he knew a better saying to have that effect as well. “It’s not anything special like what you can do.” Seiryū provided as he reached for the glass of water that had been placed to his right, meant for him to drink. With his free hand Seiryū made a one hand bird seal. Keeping his eyes trained forward, simply watched Keiko’s expression; Seiryū would take the glass of water and press it against his other hand. The glass would slowly be sealed away, fading away as it would touch his hand. Once entirely gone, Seiryū would wait another moment before commenting, “This is just the basic mechanism behind Fūinjutsu. Honestly, I can’t do anything as impressive as you can.” There was a slight twinkle in Seiryū’s eyes as he would tap the hand that still formed the seal upon the table. As he would lift his hand up and off the wooden surface, the glass would poof back in to this plane of existence from the dimension it had been trapped in, the amount of liquid within it remained the same, though it only swayed within the glass’ dimensions.

“There’s a few things I can do with seals.” He would state a bit more quietly, now letting his left hand make the one hand rat seal. As the seal would be made Seiryū would touch the back of his right hand with his left, leaving a simple circular seal upon the back of his right hand.Letting his had rest on the table, Seiryū’s eyes would meet Keiko’s once more. “Now if you were to use your needles against me now, this seal would likely seal them away.” The explanation was fairly short and he honestly felt there was no reason to delve in to more detail, for he had known what seals could do for years. He simply came to the conclusion if he knew it; Keiko was likely to know how it would work.

It was always fascinating to see other people’s abilities. Although Kiri itself had a diverse range of fighters, it wasn’t possible to see everything that there was in the world unless you actually travelled around. Which was exactly what she was doing, and so this was one of the opportunities to see someone else’s skill set close up without being in actual combat. Having not been raised or trained by the Aisu clan growing up, Keiko was not familiar with the formal rules and regulations that came with being a member of the clan. She had grown up keeping herself out of the way of her fellow clansmen, returning home from the Academy each day to her civilian parents, who had somewhat reluctantly encouraged her to follow her passion to be a kunoichi, but really knew next to nothing about the shinobi world. Even during her time in the Academy, other hyōton users were few and far in between, so she had largely been left to discover her powers on her own. Following her graduation, she had then slowly become acquainted with other Aisu members, including being placed in a team with the Aisu clan leader Yuudai and saving the life of the Mizukage during the war with Seven Bells. It was then that she learned of the secret techniques harboured by the Aisu clan, where she learned the potential of her abilities. But being that she hadn’t been raised into it, rules such as the extent of which she needed to hide her abilities to others not of the clan was lost on her.

It wasn’t as though she was going to be revealing much anyways. The ice senbon she had launched at Seiryū, despite being a simple D-ranked technique, was enough to show that she was a user of the rare hyōton element. Those uneducated on the natures of chakra would mistakenly believe that ice was yet another element in addition to the usual 5 – fire, water, wind, earth and lightning. But that was not the case. All advanced elements – or advanced bloodlines – could somewhat simply be explained as the fusion between two of the base elements. Specifically, hyōton was the combination of suiton and fūton, and Aisu clan members were those who had the ability to complete this combination. Even if she tried explaining this all, hell, even if she tried to teach it to an outsider, it would prove to be futile. As a result, she would feel no guilt in demonstrating a bit of her abilities to this man. Just as she hoped he would be able to do the same.

Keiko noted that Seiryū did not appear to have any obvious weapons on his person, but that didn’t deter her away from wanting to see what he could do. Most weapon-users were not crippled if they didn’t have their weapons, they likely had other tricks of their sleeves. Which made Keiko slightly more expectant – if she could see what this man would do under a circumstance where he was stripped of his weapons, that may mean that she would be privy to a deeper area of his skill set. She kept quiet as he took a moment to think, nodding at the waiter who had brought their drinks over.

“It’s only fair that I show you something as well. It’s not anything special like what you can do.” Keiko’s eyes brightened as he eventually voiced his agreement, watching quite eagerly as he reached for his drink. Was it going to be a demonstration of a suiton technique? She certainly didn’t see a lot of suiton users in Sunagakure – likely because of the arid environment that didn’t allow for a natural access to water. But instead, after a simply bird seal, Keiko let out a little gasp of delight as the glass of water he reached for disappeared. Fuinjutsu. The most basics of sealing was taught at the Academy, but Keiko never really was one for the ancient art of sealing. And to see that he could seal it into what appeared to be nothingness instead of requiring a scroll was impressive indeed. It didn’t seem to require much effort on his part, which likely meant that he was much practiced in this skill. When the glass reappeared, Keiko shook her head in response. ”No, that is very impressive, I can’t make things disappear … unless I somehow disintegrate them.” She said with a laugh, though she wasn’t quite joking about the last part. At higher levels, hyōton could be used to freeze living objects down to the molecular level, after which a simple amount of force would break the victim apart into nothing more than tiny chips of ice. Not that she would explain that to him.

“There’s a few things I can do with seals.” She didn’t doubt this. Fuinjutsu seemed highly versatile, and versatility was a characteristic that she admired. It could also explain why she took pride in her medical abilities, as not only could she provide medical treatment, she could also deal quite a bit of damage with her offensive techniques. “Now if you were to use your needles against me now, this seal would likely seal them away.” That sounded like fun. Not considering whether that was just part of the explanation, or if he really wanted her to try, in a heartbeat, five ice senbon would fly across the table. She made sure to keep them in a tight cluster, ensuring that they would aim exactly for his palm, and nothing more. She didn’t quite understand how it all worked, but regardless, she enjoyed the demonstration almost as much as she would enjoy showing off a bit of her own skills.

Giving him only a moment to recover and conclude his own demonstration, Keiko would grab at her recently acquired iced tea, cupping both hands around the glass. Going for the basics, she channelled suiton chakra through one hand, and fūton through the other, allowing the two nature elements to join in the middle, with the glass and its contents as the medium. Frost crept along the side of the glass, and a thin visible wisp of cold air rose from the top. Her practiced control over her chakra allowed her to adjust and separate the temperatures she was channelling into the glass – the drink would become a cold slush, while the glass itself would be chilled enough that it would likely shatter under a bit of force. ”Care for a drink?” She called out slyly, sliding the drink across the table. That simple motion was enough to displace the force on the cup, enough so that if Seiryū reached out to stop the glass from spilling onto him, it would simply break apart in his hands. A little mischievious trick to be playing, but if the glass did end up breaking and cut into his hand … well, it just so happened that she was also practiced in iryō ninjutsu.

“No, that is very impressive, I can’t make things disappear … unless I somehow disintegrate them.” Seiryū didn’t doubt it was impressive, though to him it was something that had become a constant in his life that there wasn’t much wonder behind the art of sealing anymore. For the archer, all he really tried to with his access to Fuuinjutsu happened to be finding different practical methods to incorporate it in to his fighting style, something that he was constantly working on to diversify even more than he already had recently. It simply wasn’t enough for him to settle with where things currently stood as far as his own technique went.

After having placed the seal upon the back of his right hand and mentioning that her needles would have little to no effect on him now was the honest truth, assuming he hadn’t underestimated their potency, should she be trying to hide the true power behind her techniques. It seemed as if Keiko did not want to waste the opportunity to try attacking him once more, for she instantaneously went to produce the five needles that she had thrown his way the other day. He quietly watched her form them from out of nothing and toss them his way, though in a much tighter cluster when compared to the previous time she had used them against him. Knowing their tracejectory would be aimed for his hand, Seiryū did not bother moving an inch or flinching in reaction to the ice needles. Instead, he would simply wait for the seal to activate and do what it as meant to do and seal away those pesky needles that seemed to be a constant in their two interactions thus far. The wasn’t even a second, as Keiko didn’t need to cover a long distance seeing as how the table was meant for two individuals two enjoy a meal, the restaurant prepping itself for the intimate hour to come for their patrons. As the needles neared, Seiryū’s seal activated upon its own accord, the seal design brightening up as the senbon hit them. Shortly, the seal dimmed down with all five of the senbon now safely stored away within the seal. Glancing over to Keiko, he mutedly watched her reaction to the technique, though he knew it was nothing impressive as compared to creating ice.

It seemed after a brief period of time had passed, Keiko had decided to demonstrate something else regarding her abilities once more. Seiryū would watch her reach for her glass of ice tea with both hands at either side of the glass, preparing to demonstrate something. Letting his eyes wander away from her expression and to her hands, Seiryū watched as she mixed what seemed to be fūton chakra in one hand and suiton chakra from the other. The glass seemed to be relatively unaffected by her work, yet the contents within had become a slush. His eyes quickly travelled back to meet Keiko’s, only for her to have something up her sleeve. “Care for a drink?” He supposed he couldn’t refuse the offer, though the look she had given was enough to make Seiryū somewhat cautious as to what exactly would happen. The glass seemed to be sliding across the table and didn’t seem like it would stop either. Reaching out with his right hand to stop the cup, it seemed he fell for whatever it was Keiko had been shortly plotting. The glass, upon meeting contact with his hand cracked at first, before ultimately crumbling to hundreds of frozen pieces upon the table in front of him. He felt the skin of his hand break open. It seemed him bleeding seemed to be a common occurrence when he met Keiko too.

“So, suiton and fūton is used to create the ice?” With a sigh, his eyes would once more meet the purple ones of Keiko’s hers seemingly evil at this current moment in time. “You know, I feel like every time I meet you I’m going to be hurt in some way or another. I certainly hope it doesn’t happen the next time.” His voice remained calm, as he wasn’t angry at all with Keiko. If anything, Seiryū was simply accepting his fate that this would become a common theme should he ever run in to Keiko again. He’d leave the explanation of the mess before Seiryū to Keiko, should someone seem to question it during their time here.

Keiko let out a light laugh as everything went according to plan. She had to admit that it was a bit mean to play a trick like that, but the damage wasn’t irreparable. At least, not to him. The glass was a different story, the damage there was likely permanent. She figured that unless he had some counter-move and had realized what she had done to the glass, the result would play out exactly as she wanted it to. After all, anyone with working reflexes would choose to catch the glass instead of allowing it to slid off the table, possibly spilling its contents all over themselves. Her eyes watched carefully, noting the damage the glass did to his hand. A few drops of blood, nothing significant. Too late, she realized that she practically replayed the events of their last encounter, which had resulted in him spilling a few drops of blood then as well. Her eyes moved back up to try and read his expression, hoping that she hadn’t done too much social damage.

“So, suiton and fūton is used to create the ice?” Instead of responding to what had just occurred, he broke the silence by asking her about the components of her hyōton techniques. A very observant man this was. For him to be able to detect instantly how she had made the ice form was rather impressive. He had to be at least a Special Jounin to have perception skills that high – her technique had lasted all of maybe thirty seconds, not enough for amateurs to be able to decipher. Nodding in confirmation, she shrugged nonchalantly. “You know, I feel like every time I meet you I’m going to be hurt in some way or another. I certainly hope it doesn’t happen the next time.” He didn’t sound mad, but Keiko wasn’t dense enough to think that it was all that pleasant for him either. Beginning to feel rather apologetic for the little trick she pulled on him, she reached out a hand, a silent invitation for him to give her his injured hand. ”I’m sorry, that was rather mean of me, wasn’t it?” Should he allow his hand to be taken, Keiko would ensure that their arms were not touching the slush that had spilled across the table, while her other hand would hover over his cut, clotting the blood and sealing the wound. If he refused, then she would retract her offering hand after a few moments, awaiting his next response.

By then, the waiter had rushed over with two plates of food, looking rather alarmed at the mess that they had made. Knowing that it was only fair if she took the blame, Keiko would apologize and make the offer to pay for the damage, sweetly requesting for the ess to be cleaned up. ”We um … were trying to share the drink but it slipped and fell.” Her explanation was rather weak, but the waiter didn’t bother trying to question how the once-liquid drink had become a frozen slush. He likely was used to strange occurences, given that all sorts of foreigners and villagers visited the restaurant. Clearly, restricting physical weapons wasn’t a strong enough policy to prevent all possible incidents. As he began cleaning off Seiryū’s side of the table, Keiko poked at the chicken curry that she had ordered, which had a suspiciously strong smell of spice coming from it.

“I’m sorry, that was rather mean of me, wasn’t it?”

He could sense the apologetic nature in her tone, though he honestly hadn’t cared one bit for being injured, as this was less annoying than the stab wounds she had given him just two days ago. Seiryū watched her hand silently invite his injured one over. His mind reeled back to watching her use chakra to heal something upon her pale skin just a few days ago. The conclusion was fairly simple for Seiryū to reach, for he knew what medics were capable of to certain degrees and it seemed that Keiko was no exception from the general gist he arrived at from his meetings with Daraku. Extending his right arm over and above the table, to avoid having his sleeve touch the mess upon the table, Seiryū would watch Keiko at work, his eyes would roam between her eyes to her hand, simply watching. Finally, his eyes would land upon Keiko’s as he addressed her apologetic tone. “There isn’t anything to apologize for. I probably should’ve seen that coming.” There was a hint of a grin on his face as he said such, knowing that if his hand wouldn’t be healed it would only be a minor inconvenience during their meal. If it was healed, well there honestly wouldn’t be anything for Seiryū to worry about at all.

Once the issue with his hand would be taken care of, Seiryū would retract it back to his side, as the waiter would be arriving with their food. Keiko apologizing and offering to pay for the damage, while a nice thought, wasn’t really necessary on her part. Seiryū could pay for the damage as well; for it had been his own naivety in that scenario that caused the mess to be create anyways. If her could, he would convince Keiko to let him take care of the bill and damages as an apology for the inconvenience he had given her the previous day.

“We um … were trying to share the drink but it slipped and fell.” A light smirk continued to play at Seiryū’s features as she mentioned this, knowing that while there was truth to it, it wasn’t exactly what Keiko had been playing at just moments ago. Not really commenting on anything to the waiter, for it seemed Keiko had done enough and the man had seen enough to know not to question any more than was necessary.

With the mess in front of him being cleaned up and Keiko lightly poking at her food, Seiryū’s current response was to simply raise an eyebrow and he’d question it once the waiter was done cleaning up the mess. A minute or so later, with his side of the table now being occupied by his dish, Seiryū didn’t immediately dig in to it, but rather turned his focus to Keiko once more. “Not a fan of spices?” He’d ask, wondering if that was why she hadn’t touched her food as of yet or if it was something entirely different. Taking a glance down at his dish, he wouldn’t touch it immediately until he would receive an answer from Keiko herself.

After a few moments, should she answer or not, Seiryū would bring up an entirely different topic. “Seeing as you’re not from Suna, how long are you planning to stay around for?” There was a moment’s pause, just letting his initial question settle in before deciding to tack on a second question, as the first may seem a bit more… he didn’t know the words to place there, but he figured it would be good to know regardless. “I only ask because… well, if you want to train and need someone to spar with or just for another opinion, I have nothing better to do. Though, with a spar I feel like we’ll just continue this tradition of you making me bleed one way or another.”

Keiko just happened to glance over at Seiryū after providing her explanation to the waiter, in time to catch the smirk on her companion’s face. The situation really was quite amusing, and it took all she had not to laugh out loud and entirely destroy the apologetic air she had put on in front of the waiter. It was one of those half-and-half situations, where she felt both amused and apologetic. A strange combination that she seemed to be experiencing more and more as she spent time with Seiryū.

“Not a fan of spices?” Her repeated inspection of the food and hesitation to actually eat it didn’t escape his notice. She knew just from the smell of the food in front of her that it was going to be way beyond her spice tolerance. She couldn’t tolerate a lot to begin with, and to think that she would waltz into a reputable restaurant known for its spices … well, the regret was beginning to sink in. But not wanting to embarrass herself in front of a local Sunagakure shinobi, she didn’t answer, instead choosing to spoon a mouthful of curry into her mouth. As she did so, seeing as she didn’t respond, Seiryū continued speaking. “Seeing as you’re not from Suna, how long are you planning to stay around for? … I only ask because… well, if you want to train and need someone to spar with or just for another opinion, I have nothing better to do. Though, with a spar I feel like we’ll just continue this tradition of you making me bleed one way or another.”

Fire. Her mouth was on fire. Somehow managing to swallow the offending substance in her mouth, she spluttered in a rather undignified manner, eyes wildly searching for her drink that wasn’t there. Of course she would shatter her drink, even knowing the menu selection that she had ordered. Not having time to ask for permission, she reached over and grabbed at Seiryū’s glass of water, downing it in several fast gulps. Her tongue still stung from the horrid burn that was the curry, but rapidly, as the water aided in washing down the remnants of the food, it started to go numb. Letting out a few light coughs, she tried to regain her composture and pretending nothing had just happened. Hoping he would ignore the little embarrassment that had just occurred, she instead turned her attention to answering his recent questions, about her plans in Sunagakure. ”I’ve been here for about three months now, it’ll probably be another little while before I decide what to do next.” She answered vaguely. To tell the truth, she had no idea when she planned to leave, and where she was going next. Of course, she would eventually have to report back to Kirigakure first, but that would be down the road and not anytime soon.

”I’ll definitely take up your offer on training together, as long as you haven’t gotten sick of me yet.” She continued lightly, smiling once more. It was nice that he had offered to train with her, something that she wasn’t expecting, at least not from him. Maybe she hadn’t scared him away yet with her rather pushy personality. Deciding she was done with the curry, she leaned back to sit comfortably against the chair.

The smirk that had been playing on his lips quickly widened once the waiter had left them alone and Keiko had finally decided to try her curry. He had just finished commenting about training together, when she had taken a bite of her chicken curry and it seemed her reaction was instantaneous. Seiryū’s amusement only heightened as he watched Keiko’s eyes searching the table for a drink that was no longer there due to her own actions. He felt slightly bad about finding this humorous while she spluttered and tried to find something that would cool her off, though it seemed she would be fine once she found something to drink. Knowing Keiko wouldn’t be answering his question anytime soon, for she was searching for something to cool off with, Seiryū took a small sample of his green curry, still watching the expressions that flitted across Keiko’s face, much to his own amusement.

His own untouched glass of water seemed to be what Keiko had finally found in order to sate what was likely the spices dancing upon her tongue. Well, it seemed he would likely be going through this meal without a glass of water or at least until their waiter returned and he asked for another glass, seeing as how the only other one had shambled itself in to hundreds of pieces. Seiryū did not fully divulge into focusing solely on his meal, not while there was still a topic of conversation still at hand that needed to be addressed sooner or later by the woman who had shown him her abilities to utilize fūton and suiton chakra. It had intrigued him enough that he would be doing his own research in to the field of futon and suiton chakra as well. Of course, he knew there was the likelihood he wasn’t as attuned to those particular elements as Keiko was, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world to simply try and see if it could be accomplished on his own. To think he had originally expected a peaceful meal by himself which had shifted in to sharing a meal with a woman he had mistaken for another, was simply not something Seiryū ever expected to have happened tonight, but there were certainly far stranger cases out there in this particular world.

Hearing Keiko cough had his grin fade away, hoping she would be perfectly fine, even if the thing plaguing her happened to be eating food that was certainly too spicy for her personal preferences. It honestly even more amusing now than it had been before as Keiko attempted to regain the composure she had lost and assume the past few seconds had never truly occurred at all. That simply just made the grin reappear upon Seiryū’s features. He didn’t comment on it, for Keiko had decided to address the question he had posed to her just a minute ago.

“I’ve been here for about three months now, it’ll probably be another little while before I decide what to do next. I’ll definitely take up your offer on training together, as long as you haven’t gotten sick of me yet.” Knowing that she wouldnt mind training with his was a relief, yet it also did make him stop to think for a moment. While he knew she could heal herself, he still was unsure of her own abilities to go toe to toe with him, especially after his previous training session which he tried to put out of mind. Seeing as how she’d been able to break hold of his grasp the other day, Seiryū figured he did not have too much to worry about. He didn’t expect a full-fledged spar to occur, though he didn’t know how she trained either, so it would certainly be a bit of a new learning experience.

“How about we meet up for training tomorrow? Around say… eleven o’clock?” Seiryū did not want to promise to meet her earlier, simply knowing his own schedule for waking up at a decent hour was a disaster. The time for their meeting would still be early, but with an ample amount of time for Seiryū to get prepared and meet her there ahead of time. Watching Keiko briefly, noticing her relax in her seat and not go back to her food, Seiryū went to attend to his before his stomach decided to vocalize its need for nutrition. It turned out that their hostess’ assumption had worked out in the overall picture, for it gave Seiryū someone to chat with and learn a bit more about elemental chakra.
