Beep.
Beep.

The consistent sound was the first thing to truly register for him, for his eyelids were too heavy, thus his vision remained fully obscure. The repetitive nature of the noise didn’t falter over the time he lay there, unable to do anything for the time being. His body felt heavy, his limbs unmoving as he tried to urge himself upward.
The sound picked up.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
For a moment, thoughts of panic arose before his mind decided to quiet down once more.
It slowed down as his mind began to wonder off. No longer was the light playing upon his eyelids the prominent factor. No. It changed to darkness.
He awoke to the same sound once more, yet this time all his senses were available to him in the span of a minute. The beeping noise remained a constant throughout his last period of fully being awake and this instance as well. His ears quickly tuned out that noise, beginning to try and pick up further clues as to who was around. Ryouichi’s mind had quickly drawn that link between the beeping and where he was; he heard it countless times before, far too many for his own liking. He couldn’t remember how he got here, why he was here, but one thing was for certain, he needed to get out. Problems would surface if he did, past experience told him so, but he didn’t want to be here. He didn’t need to be here.
The taste of iron, he wished to get rid of that as well.
Amber orbs slowly began to see the sterile environment he was placed in, a place where he clearly didn’t belong as far as he was concerned. He was better than these constant hospitalizations that plagued him for years. Ryouichi knew he didn’t need to be here. He was fine. He was breathing and alive. That’s all there was to it. From his resting position on the hospital bed, which had the head elevated, Ryouichi slowly turned his neck either way to get that stiff feeling out of it. Taking a few seconds to adjust to the bright environment, the sun’s rays bursting in to the room making the white panelled ceiling far brighter than it needed to be. Flaring his elbows out and getting a decent grasp on the sheets, Ryouichi leveraged himself in to a more comfortable seated position by utilizing his lower body. Releasing a deep breath, Ryouichi turned his head towards the door, opposite the sunlight.
A nurse, one that seemed fairly inexperienced and young at the job made her way through the door at that moment. She wore the standard hospital garbs of blue scrubs, a stethoscope around her neck and a clipboard in hand. Dark-skinned and fairly attractive, though that was easily over forgotten the second Ryouichi recalled he wanted out of here. “Nara-san, I’m here for your check-up.” Check-up? For what exactly?
Before she even made it half-way through the room, Ryouichi began to reach for the IV inserted in his forearm, for the purpose of ripping it out. He wasn’t in the mood for this. He didn’t need to be in here, in this stifling place that told him he couldn’t do anything. A hand was instantaneously placed over the injection site with the other holding back his other arm. His strength, it appeared, wasn’t there at all, for he couldn’t overpower her hold on him. “You better let go in the next five fucking seconds and not touch me again.” Hesitation, he saw it. There was a brief moment of debate as she locked eyes with him, before slowly backing away. As she was doing this, Ryouichi weakly pushed himself out of the bed, placing his feet on the opposite side of the bed from the nurse; between the window and the bed. Standing up to his feet, albeit feebly, Ryouichi turned his head to spot the nurse who had quickly rushed out the room. He knew where she was going, or rather getting; reinforcements – security.
