Nakatsuka Ranmaru
D-rank
Mission name: Cleanie Cleanie
Mission rank: D [Repeatable]
Objective: Act as a street cleaner for the city for the day.
Location: Iwagakure

Mission description: the city is looking for a street cleaner due to it’s unbelievably mucky state, however it can’t afford to hire someone for more than one day. Are you up for the job?
Mission details: Minimum of 600 words, this job is repeatable and you will be given your own broom. Don't worry about bringing supplies.
Cleaning the streets of Iwagakure was so not Ranmaru’s definition of fun.
No, it was definitely not fun. In fact, it was the opposite of fun. He should have been getting stronger, much much stronger so that he could protect the ones he loved. But the administration didn’t care if you gave them a reason to get stronger, even if that reason was your potential going berserk if you didn’t train to get enough self-control that you didn’t accidentally murder your entire family not in their sleep, but your own. No, they only cared that they had one dirty street with no janitor free to take it up, and so they had to assign him of all people the task of cleaning up the streets.
Well, at least the village had been kind enough to supply him with his own broom. He didn’t know any wind techniques, so he couldn’t just try to blow all the muck and grime away. That would have been far easier than using this broom to clean up all this muck and grime. He had thought about trying to manipulate the water and earth in this substance by using his Water and Earth Releases respectively, or maybe a combination of the two, but ultimately decided against it. His water and earth releases were far too violent to waste on something like this, and were more likely than not going to destroy the street rather than clean it up. He supposed he would have to clean it up the old fashioned way. He didn’t want to get in trouble, and he didn’t want to get his family into trouble. Regardless of whatever he was doing and the lack of an actual allegiance to Iwa’s forces, he would continue on with this.
He stood the broom on one end as his hand rested on the other, and his other hand wiped the sweat from his face. While it wasn’t necessarily a very hot day, this was still tiring work. It wasn’t difficult, but it was definitely tiring, and he had far too little patience for something like this. He felt like throwing down the broom and calling it quits, but Iwagakure had a very strict policy on missions. All ninja were required to do missions if they lived within the boundaries of Iwagakure, so that they did their part in keeping the village safe. And unfortunately, not all these missions were chosen by ninja. Some of them were given out by the higher ups in Iwagakure so that all missions would get done and all ninja would get some experience in every area. There might not have been a direct relation between sweeping the streets and actual ninja work, but it did help cement someone’s loyalty to Iwagakure, and loyalty was something that the village would never have enough of, since it strengthened them near directly, while weakening other nations by making scarce possible mercenaries for hire.
Ranmaru was no mercenary for hire, but he didn’t like having to bend to Iwagakure’s every will, especially when it got in the way of him trying to improve himself in a battle situation. Nevertheless, he held the broom with both hands and began sweeping once more, intent on getting this done within the hour. It was a difficult job and was likely one that he would never ever attempt ever again (although some deity up there with boundless humour was probably going to saddle him with the same damned mission again anyway just because he could).
Anywho, when he was done with this, he would hurry back to the administration building and quickly cash it in for his ryo, before making his way.
