Mission description:
While exploring, or even taking a tour of Sunagakure Oomi, and company, are approached by an elderly woman who says her name is Kokuzin. She says that she wants to speak with Oomi and instructs her, and company, to follow. On the way back to the old woman’s home Oomi and friends are attacked by a gang of thieves and thugs who recognize Oomi from a description given by a survivor of an attack on Oomi and her team while in transit to Sunagakure (Chapter 4: A Place Away From Home pt. 1; 100 Miles an' Runnin').
Mission details: Kokuzin is actually a member of the Saiyama Clan. However, years ago she left Iwagakure to see the world as a final act in her old age. It’s happenstance that she’s in Sunagakure when Oomi is, but she’s convinced it’s fate. After the gang is defeated Kokuzin will have some secrets to share with Oomi. She’ll also reveal a technique unique to her capable of teaching a single jutsu or increasing a single stat equal to the missions rank.

The gang consists of 3 thugs with D-3 Rank stats. These three use C-Rank Taijutsu which they compliment with D-Rank Doton ninjutsu from the Jutsu Library. They’ll attack first but once the first one goes down their leader, Rin, is going to join the fight.

Name: Saiyama Kokuzin

Personality: Kokuzin is soft spoken and wise. She seems to be nearing 100 but she’s still as spry as a spring chicken, as she says. She enjoys cooking and baking and jumps at the opporutnity to do so for anyone. Years ago Kokuzin lived in Iwagakure with the rest of the Saiyama, but when Saiyama Harou and Saiyama Aiko were named the heads of the clan she left. Kokuzin was famed for her ability to read people, or sense their intent. It’s said that she left Iwa because she sensed something horrible in Harou. Most believe she left to travel the world, which she actually has been doing. Kokuzin enjoys and often harps about the wonders of the planet and the differences between the countries. She’s a friendly woman and exudes and aura of goodness.
Motivations:
Ω Kokuzin knows things. She knows that Oomi is the daughter of Harou and Aiko despite having left the village before she was born. She knows other things she ought not know and her sole desire is to share those things with Oomi and whoever else will listen. She doesn’t care if shame might come to the Saiyama, she’s confident that because she’s met Oomi in Sunagakure of all places that the girl is meant to right whatever wrongs may come.
Fears:
Ω Kokuzin’s only fear is that the Saiyama fall into ruin that they cannot be rescued from.
Abilities:
Kokuzin has developed a single jutsu which can serve one of two purposes. This jutsu is called Okurimono. The jutsu itself is able to boost a shinobi’s body (+1 to a single stat) or teach them a jutsu they’ve been trying to learn. The stat boost or the jutsu must be of equal rank to the mission itself. (This jutsu is a plot

Personality: When you look up the word sadistic in the dictionary there’s a picture of Rin. There’s nothing she loves more than causing harm to others. It’s part of the reason that she’s moved up so quickly in the ranks of the gangs around Sunagakure. She’s not a big time leader, but she’s got a few men under her command and is pretty proud of that fact. She’s not looking to take over, she’s fine right where she’s at. She describes herself as an enforcer and admits that she’s loves the opportunity to fight. She’s been honing her skills with her sword since she was a little girl out in the desert and despite not being a shinobi has become skilled enough rival any chuunin. This she’s not afraid to announce. Rin is boastful and prideful and quick to snap. When fighting she’s quick on her feet and can be unpredictable at times.

Ω Respect: Whether it’s the love of her gang or the fear of her victims, everyone was going to give her the respect she deserved — the respect she didn’t get when she was a kid.

Abilities: Rin has C-3 Rank Strength, the rest of her stats are C-2. She uses B-Rank Bukijutsu and has a B-Rank Sword she calls Bingo. In addition to this Rin uses C Rank Taijutsu. Though she doesn’t have Ninjutsu she is capable of using Raiton nature Nintaijutsu as well as through her sword Bingo.
