Description: This jutsu requires no hand signs; instead the user raises their hands so that fingers are spread wide and the palm is flattened and facing inward, the tips of the middle and ring fingers touching the user's temple and face. The user then channels a burst of chakra to the hands, releasing it instantaneously as a blinding flash of light. The flash is bright enough to cause temporary blindness, lasting for 1 post. Targets of two or more ranks above the user are not affected.
He really hadn't planned on being in the region for so long, the heat was oppressive and the sun was going to start causing serious damage to his skin soon; but there was just so much to keep him around. The Priestess Misao was a wonderful person, and they could spend days discussing the finer aspects of their varied professions, and even more days discussing tea and culture. Really, he could find himself spending long weeks just documenting everything about her temple, it's history and specialities and the stories of the masks and spirits. Fascinating, wonderful. It was a candyland to him, honestly.
Beyond that, Samael. The male was... captivating, really. Something about him, it drew Haruka in and held his attention, held his focus, in a way that was nearly impossible to break. He couldn't make heads or tails of it, and he couldn't find it in him to be concerned by this effect of the male. It was like Samael was a drug, in a way, and Haruka couldn't resist the effects of it. It was making it harder to justify leaving, he just wanted to spend more time getting to know the larger, demonic male; the thought of leaving without spending more time with Samael was almost.. repugnant; the very idea was enough to almost scare him in a strange, visceral way that didn't make sense yet still didn't cause alarm in his mind. The entire situation was confusing, but he just couldn't make himself focus on that; he just wanted to be in the Uzumaki male's presence, and that was as much as he could settle on.
Unfortunately for the moment, he wasn't able to be with either of the people he wanted to be with at the moment; Misao was too busy with temple duties and Samael had disappeared somewhere for the moment. He wasn't sure how he knew, but he knew the male hadn't left the city; he was just somewhere that Haruka didn't know of; and he wasn't about to turn into a creepy stalker. That would be counterproductive. So to kill time, he was going to train a bit; work on a simple, but extraordinarily useful jutsu that would actually come in extremely handy in his job as an exorcist as well. Solar Flare, as it was known, was a simple compression of chakra to a density that caused it to explode in a brilliant blast of white light, enough to blind enemies for several seconds. Any source of strong light was extremely useful to an exorcist; many dark or tainted spirits had issues with light, quick way to dispel them was using a strong enough flash of pure light, which is exactly the point of this jutsu. More to the point, it was extremely simple to perform, as it required no hand signs outside of the placement of the hands for the flash.
Thankfully, that was a simple enough placement, too. It was merely the palms held flat facing outward, with the tips of the middle and index finger pressed to the temples and the fingers spread wide. Chakra was focused to the palm and condensed until it exploded outward, causing a flash bright enough to blind anything within a short range. Simple in theory, fairly simple in procedure. He was alone in the area; he'd just stayed in his hotel room for this; since the jutsu had no offensive capability, and he was completely alone (he's splurged for a room by himself), it was safe to train it there. The blinds where drawn, and he'd warned the manager on duty that he was going to be doing jutsu training in his room (and left a large security deposit to keep the man calm over the situation), so he was good to go.
Facing the solid wall that he shared with the next room would be safest; there was no reflective surfaces to worry about, and it was thick enough to not bother anyone in the next room. He was sitting on the bed, as there was no real reason to be standing for this. He spent a few minutes stretching and working his hands, placing them into position over and over again until the motions felt normal, and he could move them without his fingers twitching and falling into awkward placements. The biggest problem was the wrist turning; he'd cracked the joints the first time he'd moved and now they ached slightly; but he could deal with that. Once he was satisfied with that, he lowered his hands and spent time focusing chakra to the palm of his hands. He didn't have the best chakra control; he wasn't a ninja, not really; he just had the basic skills and abilities; so it took a bit to get his chakra moving the way he needed. It took a while, but he was eventually satisfied with his chakra focus; enough to be willing to try the jutsu.
Lifting his hands to his head, he began charging chakra and holding it; there was apparently a point that you needed to reach, a balance of sorts, and he was attempting to find it. In his mind, he visualized a charging ball of light, ragged and torn and unbalanced. As he focused harder and brought the chakra under control, the ball settled and became clean looking, turning into a orb of brilliant white light, and what he needed to use. His eyes where tightly shut against the flash, and he released the chakra: finding that the blast was both brilliant, and powerful; enough to actually cause him to fall backwards and into the wall slightly. Woah, a but too much chakra.
However, that was the right start, and he tried again; this time releasing a bit less chakra and releasing it; finding that this time the flash was brilliant, bright, but controlled. Excellent. That was the basics of the jutsu; now that he had that, he just needed to spend time working on it. Not a problem, he could do that later. He was feeling oddly hungry, so he figured it was time to head down, recover his money, and go out for something to eat.
