Uchiha Susumu
D-rank
Screeching sounds were heard echoing throughout the entire area. There was no way to pinpoint the exact location of the creepy noises that were heard from what it seemed from every direction. The fog engulfing the deserted village was thick, that only a vague figure of objects in the distance could be seen. Uchiha Susumu was one of the people that dared enter the place in order to seek a challenge for himself and this place seemed perfect for him. The wooden buildings around him, crumbling down in their old age, pieces of wood hitting the ground as Susumu passed by, gave more of an uneasy feeling coursing through his body. He wasn’t one to let himself get scared off just by how a place looks, so without hesitation he ventured deeper and deeper into the village, only to stumble upon what seemed to be a very old church. As he looked up, he could see that half of the roof had collapsed and probably had destroyed everything from the top floor, as well. Looking from side to side and narrowing his eyes, he tried to see if something was keeping watch on him, or if he was being followed. This fog was getting on his nerves, not being able to rely on his eyes. He needed to get to the inside, out of the fog so that he could at least see what was coming at him.
Not thinking twice, he moved quickly over to the front door of the worn out church and pushed the door open before disappearing in the darkness which was the interior of the building. The door closed behind him as his eyes slowly adjusted to the dark setting within the church. He scanned the entire area with his eyes, trying to notice even the tiniest details which could be used to his advantage. The only thing he noticed, however, were a couple of spider webs on the walls and some of the chairs, but what was noticed almost immediately was the altar on the other side of the room, with next to it a ladder that seemed to be nearing its end. A few steps were missing, but Susumu would be able to get up there. But first, he wanted to explore this some more. Passing the benches and chairs along the red, worn out carpet, covered in dust, he moved himself over to the front of the altar. It was covered in candles with a statue in the middle of it. Susumu himself wasn’t that much of a religious person, nor had he been told about specific religions, so this was completely new to him. Even the sensation of being in a church didn’t feel right to him. He shook off the thought before hearing the sound of cracking wood above him. There seemed to be something moving a floor higher. Susumu didn’t move an inch and just kept staring at the ceiling, gripping his fists, knowing that it would be coming down any moment. He wasn’t going up there, since he’d be vulnerable if the beast spotted him first, so there had to be a way to lure that beast to him. His eyes glanced over to the statue on the middle of the altar as he reached out to it by the legs and threw it to the exact spot where the cracking sounds were coming from. Noise; that’s what Susumu wanted to use to provoke it into showing itself first. The statue broke in multiple pieces as only a little chip had been made into the wooden ceiling. The sounds stopped for an uncomfortable moment. Even Susumu held his breath in anticipation. Without even the time to blink, the ceiling collapsed. The wooden splinters were flying into every direction and a cloud of dust expanded itself as the creature with the ceiling hit the ground, right onto the red carpet only a short distance away from Susumu. “You know, if you wanted a fight, you just could’ve asked.” He spoke, cracking a slight smile, fully aware of what he was getting himself into.
