Amaya had come across this particular jutsu in her newest book. Though she'd heard elsewhere of the technique and the difficulty of it; it had never been fully explained in the detail that her new favorite book had. This was definitely something she'd wanted to learn for a long while, since around the time she'd heard tale of it.
She had gotten home several hours ago, taken a long and well deserved super hot shower. She'd eaten a rather decent meal too; some ramen with small bits of pork in it. Hell, she'd even found herself dozing off and had ended up taking over a three hour nap. All in all she felt mostly rested. Not as good as she had this morning before she'd trained her self created jutsu, but well enough. Her latest nap had meant she wasn't going to bed for a while, in fact, given the way she was feeling she probably wouldn't be able to sleep for the rest of the night. Sleep disorder for the win and all that jazz.
So, what better to do with your time, Amaya? But to train another jutsu. At least she wouldn't have to go through nearly the sadistic things she had to to train the last one. Torturing animals as it were was how she had spent most of her day, so now maybe it was time to do the opposite, or something to that effect anyway.
So, shaking herself from her thoughts she blinked a few times to bring her gaze back into focus. She had been spending the last hour staring out of the kitchen window with a cup of what was hot tea in her hands. As always she'd been holding the cup with both hands, causing her hands to still be slightly warmer then the rest of her body. She tilted her head down, glancing at the darkened brew that she felt was otherwise wasted because it'd gone cold. With a dissatisfied sigh she poured the liquid down the train of the sink before placing the cup to rest at the bottom of the sink.
Given that it was dark outside she figured it'd be slightly cooler, and knew better then to go out in what she'd been wearing earlier that day. Therefore she exchanged her short sleeve shirt, shorts, and sandals for a black long sleeved shirt, black over jacket, black pants with several pockets going down the sides, and a pair of black boot like shoes. She picked her book up off of the counter where she'd left it before her staring spell out the window, and slipped it into the breast pocket of her coat. A pat of her head revealed that her bun was still intact therefore her hair being in her way wouldn't be an issue.
Without further musings she slipped out of the house, locking the door behind her. She didn't bother telling anyone in her family where she was going, if they needed her she was sure they'd find her easy enough, at least her brother could, that was. The rest could honestly stumble around in the dark for hours for all she cared. In silence she walked, not bothering to run as she had earlier. She was in no where near the rush she had been earlier. She had all night to get this done, and wasn't too worried about having to contend with anyone being where she was headed at this time of night.
"No one in their right mind would be out here right now...", she muttered to herself before chuckling. "Oh, Amaya... you're out in this..." Yeaaap, she was talking to herself now, lovely. Ah well, she never claimed to be all that sane to begin with; she just hid it better than most others could.
Given her slow pace it'd take her all of fifteen or so minutes to reach the spot she had been aiming for; a clearing in the woods by the river, devoid of any sort or rocks, boulders, trees, shrubbery, or much grass at all for that matter. In fact the entire place looked like it was well used for training, sparring, and the like. Off to the one side was a small pond that was fed by the nearby river filled with all sorts of colorful fish that at this time of night where swimming rather lazily around as if they didn't have much are at all in the world.
"Good, no one's here. I've got the place all to myself.", she whispered, though there was no reason at all for keeping her voice down.
After gazing over the place she sat herself down near the pond, indian style. She'd made a mental list of the way she was going to go about this, meditate first to completely calm herself down, then make her attempt. It was a short list, but she hoped that the meditating would help her accomplish this easier. It was worth a shot at least.
She closed her eyes to the world around her, eyelids fluttering shut in such a way that her eyelashes momentarily tickled her cheeks. 'Focus, Amaya... stop allowing yourself to get distracted, you know better.', she mentally scolded herself. It worked at least, the mental scolding that is, as she indeed forced herself to concentrate on the task at hand. With her eyes shut she slowly began to release her mind, allowing no thoughts to travel in particular. Just a simple breath in, breath out... Her breathing became slower, more relaxed, as did her body. This would take all of several minutes until she was fully and completely relaxed. At this point she allowed herself to focus on the task she had to complete. Picturing it in her mind, the entire process, each individual step being mentally examined from all angles.
She remained in that meditative state for a little over an hour, undisturbed by the animals and other such wildlife that was currently wandering around her, having moved closer since her initial arrival since she hadn't moved in quite some time. A curiosity to them, if you would. That wouldn't last long, however, as her eyelids slid open, red gaze staring straight ahead, directly at the pond not more then a few small feet in front of her.
"Time to get to work, I guess.", once more the words were whispered, only this time it was simply to keep herself in her calm like state then to worry about anyone overhearing her.
Now, she'd read that the basics of this technique, or jutsu as it were, were better tested on fish to start out. Or at least that was what the norm anyway, tradition maybe, too. So, that's exactly where she was going to get started. Hey, why push her luck trying something different, right? No point in attempt to exhaust herself any more then she figured she was already going to be at the end of all of this.
'Wouldn't surprise me if I ended up sleeping normally for a few days after all of this is over and done with,' she mentally mused as she bit her lip, pondering how best to do this. She knew that she obviously couldn't remove the fish from the water, at least not for a severely long period of time. What she was planning on doing to the fish already might kill it, no point in pushing her luck even further, or making it harder on herself either.
Therefore she removed her coat, setting it next to herself, and then proceeded to roll her sleeves up. No point in being wetter then she was going to have to. She dug her fingers into the nearby dirt, breaking it lose. After she'd loosened it enough she used her entire hand to start digging. This would take several minutes, at least until she had a decent sized pile. Now, for the next step of her little idea. Kneeling at the very edge of the pond she leaned over it and began to take the dirt and pack it tightly within her hands. After she was satisfied with the chunk she had she placed it in the water, slowly and carefully submerging it until she was sure it wasn't going to break apart.
She repeated this process several more times over, building a small circle of a trench at the edge of the pond, deep enough to hold enough water to keep a single fish alive in it for a very long while. Once she was completely satisfied with the amount of water, the shape, and the fact that the fish wouldn't be able to attempt to jump itself back into the actual pond she turned her focus on the that were still freely swimming in the pond. She bit her lip a bit as she concentrated, singling out a particularly small fish. She darted forward, both hands clasping around the wiggling thing. Without hesitating she all but threw it into her own little make shift hole for it to survive in.
"There, your fate is now sealed.", she muttered to the fish.
Now, given the jutsu she knew to heal wounds located outside of the body, and given her new jutsu she'd just learned she figured she had this technique down pretty well, meaning that hopefully she wouldn't have to be out here all night long.
The first thing she had to do was create an inner wound on the fish so that she had something to target and heal. That wouldn't be hard. Cue Chakra Scalpel for the win! The needed hand seals were a well practiced breeze as she focused chakra into her hands. With her hands charged she reached forward to the fish that had no where to run, or swim, as it were. Without harming the outer layers of the fish itself she made small cuts within the fish itself. Being careful of where she cut she made sure the wounds wouldn't kill the creature right off the bat, but give her the needed time to see if the jutsu she was about to try would work or not.
Alright, well that was done and over with. Nothing left to do now but try. She knew she didn't have to place her hands directly on the fish, which helped a great deal with the fact that it was still slightly able to wiggle and swim. She began to call forth healing chakra into her hands, creating a small greenish glow as she did so. The slices she'd made were small, given the size of the fish, so she didn't bother to attempt to over due it the first time through like she'd done with her previous jutsu. Once she was satisfied with the amount of healing chakra she let it lose into the fish, controlling it to the internal slices she'd made, speeding up the fish's natural healing properties.
Annnnd? It.. worked? Holy shit, it totally worked!
..... Then why was the fish dying? She could see it, having more then trained to notice the signs of the dying and death. Death always had a certain look about and the fish surely was experiencing these effects. Its movements were slowing, eyes getting an almost glazed look and then it stopped moving completely. Yup, and there it went, belly up, floating to the top of the water.
With a headtilt she reached forward and plucked the dead fish right up and out of the water. She glanced to the nearby river and with a flick of her wrist sent the dead fish flying right into it; food for some larger fish.
Moving to the pond once more she plucked up another fish and tossed it into the small hole of sorts she had created. Another quick moment with the Chakra Scalpel and she was set to try again. She called forth the healing chakra once more into her hands, hovering them over the fish. She added a tad bit more this time around, and a tad bit more concentration. The verdict? A dead fish.
"What the fuck?!"
She was getting annoyed, agitated as it were. So, she sat herself back and did a few simple breathing exercises to calm herself down. Deep breath in, hold for a small moment, and breath out. Repeat as desired and all that fun stuff.
Once she was sure she was calm enough she tried again. Third time had to be the charm, right?
She plucked one more fish up out of the water, and made the necessary internal slices needed. She called the healing chakra once more into her palms, a bead of sweat running its way from her brow down the side of her face. 'Concentrate, Amaya...' she mentally encouraged herself. She moved her hands a tad bit closer to the fish then previous and envisioned in her mind what she was doing with her chakra. She pushed the healing chakra, which was glowing a brighter shade of green then previous, into the fish. Concentrating, she made sure this time that she covered the entire wound with the healing chakra and kept it there for the needed period of time to allow the fishes natural healing abilities to speed up.
This time? It worked. The fishes swimming speed increased, even in the small area that it had. It looked all in all even more healthier then it had before.
Exhausted she fell backwards. With a groan she stared at the dark sky. She knew better than to fall asleep here. "I should've made Naota come with me.. he could have carried me home, or Ashi at least."
Groaning and grumbling she pushed herself up off of the ground, barely stopping to bother grabbing her jacket so she didn't forget it, knowing she should be far more excited then she was right now over having successfully learning this newest jutsu... buuut, that's what being tired did to you.
Without further adieu she all but dragged her butt back home, barely making it before she collapsed, fully clothed, on her bed... and let the snoring commence.
