“This is your escort. He will accompany you to kirigakure no sato on your investigative mission. Bring back solid information, Zennyo.” The raikage’s voice boomed throughout the  room in his panther like form. The red beams that were his eyes stared upon Dray once again. “Do not fail me!” the words came as they pierced through Dray’s heart. The special jounin woke up while breathing softly. He had never taken his dreams to be stupid. Most of his dreams were somehow connected to what had happen, what was happening, what would happen in the nearest future or  more importantly, they were clues on what he was supposed to do most especially when he faced a wall in whatever he was doing. The young man got out of bed as he closed his windows. He was feeling a bit  cold today and that was indeed weird so maybe he was falling ill but going to the hospital was not an option for him because his body always adapted. His body cells seemed to possess healing properties that he himself was not aware of. The  past few days since his stay in kumogakure no sato, he had noticed that he was changing or more like he was adapting to the hidden cloud village and he was trying to decided if  that was good  or bad. He was a part of the village now so adapting to it was probably the best idea but this form of adaptation was too rapid and it was more like the adaption was using his maturity as a means of manifestation so it would look all natural, him growing up and changing.

The young man who was probably in his twenties walked up to the wash hand basin and ran the water as he poured it unto his face before looking at the mirror on the wall before him. The black in his hair which he had noticed a few days ago was now dominating the green more rapidly. He always washed the hair thoroughly to rid it of the black but this time he planned on leaving it and seeing what would become of it if he left it alone. Dray removed his clothes and grabbed a towel as he went straight to  the bath room to have his bath. This was probably one of  his last days living in the giant sleeping inn as he planned on moving  into his own  house soon enough. The shinobi quickly had his bath and he was out of the bath room. With a towel around his waist, he sat at the edge of the bed as he looked at his green cloak that was hung on the wall. He had about three sets of that particular clothe and he was sure that by now, he was already known for it so perhaps a change would do after all he was adapting. The young man walked towards the small wadrobe and picked out a grey cloak with as much  design as the green cloak with the only difference being the color and a few adjustments. It was a nice outfit considering the fact that his hair had lost most of its green. Dray dressed up and was done in some minutes after which he walked towards the mirror. It was his  life and he had every right to judge it the way he sees it fit regardless of what anybody said so as far as he was concerned the outfit was  nice  but he even did not plan on actually adapting to this  grey cloak. With time, he would think up sometime perfect.

The young man who was trying to find where his feet was exited the room and walked down the hall way and down the stairs till he was out of the giant sleeping inn. He did not  feel like breakfast so it was better not to have  it rather than have  it and waste it and  indirectly wasting money too. There was no where precise he was going but he just kept walking. Instincts are things that wield great power  over  human life in his own point  of view. Dray walked down the streets as he watched shop keeper opening up their shops as the aroma of  food from restaurants filled the air. The clouds were not too bright and neither were they too dark, they were just perfect and perfect was not something to be trusted in kumogakure no sato. The walk down the streets did not seem all that long at all as Dray found  himself heading towards the village gates for reasons that he did not understand. He had no problem with the guards seeing as the kumogakure head band was tied around his head so with a simple good morning wave at them, he was out of the gates and onto where his instincts were leading  him. Dray kept walking  in the direction of his legs as he looked to his left and right. He passed  by memorable sites on the outskirts of kumogakure  and most of them were breath  taking but none seemed convincing enough to draw him over.

Dray looked beneath as he tried to study the various properties that could be seen from just a foot print. He did recognize the prints of most animals and their waste products but that was it. Dray finally looked up since he had been looking below and walking all the while. He was faced with a very  tall building that seemed to connect with the heavens themselves. The tower was one of a kind in kumogakure and Dray could not deny ever being here. He hurried towards the castle as he finally found an entrance and walked into the great tower. Whatever was in there, he would sure find out because it did not seem  like anyone lived there.

A sneeze escaped him as the redheaded individual walked the path leading him out of the village and towards the surrounding areas that were not defined as being within the borders of Kumogakure no Sato, yet they were definitely a part of Kumogakure no Sato as everything within the village. There wasn’t anyone around him, as he had recently escaped the village and didn’t come across anyone, so he found no reason to cover his mouth as it escaped him.

While his eyes were mostly closed as he kept walking, though opening up once in a while to keep on the correct path, Haruo let himself be guided solely by his feet, keeping on the paved pathway that would lead him towards one of the newest sights in Kumogakure no Sato, even if it had existed for quite some time so far. The new monument was still in the process of construction, one that Haruo had no idea how long it would take for it to be completed. The path leading to the newly forming building was fairly straightforward, yet one that would take some time to travel, as one would be need to climb up a mountain to reach the Tower of Heaven. Haruo had no qualms about travelling up the mountain hosting the Tower of Heaven, as he had climbed up mountains before, and he had a constant failsafe always with him. His failsafe was currently supported by his shoulders, resting against his back, as the band came around Haruo’s chest, from his right shoulder to his left hip. The gourd and the black band kept his white long sleeve t-shirt pressed down against his body. His black shoes gently clacked against the paved path as his feet carried him up the mountain, leading him towards the building that was still under construction. The black jeans he was wearing simply brushed the fabric of the other leg as Haruo took his lazy steps towards the building.

What he was doing here? He had no idea, but it was better than doing nothing at home and just waiting for the time to fly by. While he didn’t particularly have anything to do at the Tower of Heaven, he thought he could at least see the progress that had been made thus far. The sight itself was something one would wish to see, especially when the tower was being built to see the entirety of the lands of Kumo. Haruo didn’t think too much on it in terms of the name itself, not delving too deep in to the meaning provided by the word ‘heaven’. Haruo, rather, seemed more intrigued by what one could see from the highest possible point in the world, the Tower of Heaven, upon completion, could easily being such a place.

He knew people trained here on occasion, so long as no damage was done to the building itself, thus he didn’t expect to be alone, but there was the likelihood of there being very few people there at all. If anything, the majority of the people he could possibly come across would likely be those who were the construction workers, overseeing the building of the Tower of Heaven. Blinking a few times, Haruo completely opened his eyes, wanting to make sure he watched his steps as he made his trek up to the giant structure.

The inside of the building was breath taking indeed not because it was all that beautiful but because of how tall into the skies it went. The entrance Dray had found into the tower was one that was hidden between the mountains so the path that Dray had taken was the one that probably lead him to it so if someone was to take another path to this tower, they most likely would not find this ground entrance and they might have to either climb the mountain or go through some other means. Dray explored the tower as it seemed to have stairs here and there but everything seemed too complicated because one staircase led to another but frankly speaking, once one was familiar with such a place it would be hard to lose a fight in here. This was the most thing that Dray liked either when he was sparring or when he was fighting a real battle. He loved using the surrounding elements to his advantage and it always gave him an edge over his opponents whoever they might be. Be it kicking sand in their face or using some other means that might seem cowardly. Using any means available to win a fight did not show cowardness because in the end the victor is always the one to be celebrated.

Dray walked up one stair as he continued elevating as he was now able to see that the tower was not yet completed. When he was at a reasonable height, he looked below and wondered how long it took the builders to raise the tower up to this height and even how long it would them to complete. He leaned on the railings of the stair as he tried to calculate how many man would have been involved in this construction. The building was not all that made of wood if not, just one person with the ability to control the wood element would have built it up to this level and even more he would have completed it. Dray advanced a bit on the stairs as he found an opening that seemed to be a window. The air coming in from it was very much cold and it was different from the regular air that he breathed in when he was at ground level. This was surely a different altitude and it was the mountain breeze. Dray moved forward and looked out the window as he saw a figure in the distance. This path was the opposite of the one Dray had taken and Dray saw that the person was coming was coming in this direction but how was he going to enter the tower if that was his destination if he did not climb the mountain. Considering the heavy breeze that went around, Dray would keep calm and wait to be entertained by how this person planned on entering the tower. Even if Dray had not found an entering, he had more than one means of getting in. Being the person that he is, he loved to see talented people like himself and if this person was one, he would like to see. It was all just starting and there was still enough time ahead.

As Haruo neared the building, his trek up towards the building would be a short one when compared to going inside and climbing up the numerous staircases one could take to climb up. Though the building’s main entrance was founded on the mountain itself, having to require one to climb up it, Haruo merely glanced at the outer walls of the structure, knowing full well it would be a simple trek upward and far less gruelling when compared to the climb up the mountain and the stairs within. With the way Haruo was seeing things, it would be much simpler to take his route than make the journey up the mountain and then proceeding to climb up the stairs. Damaging anything related to the building would be out of the question, but it was a simple matter of just getting close enough to the tower itself for Haruo to get inside.

Of course, climbing a mountain for shinobi was far simpler in contrast to a civilian attempting the hike up. His gourd, which would normally slow down others in their ascent, made no difference for Haruo to do so. Pushing chakra in to his lower half of his body, particularly his feet, Haruo quickly spun on a dime, straying off his initial path and moving up the mountain, directly towards the giant tower. A simply technique that practically everyone learned from the academy was well suited for one to simply use to scale a mountain, or any surface that one wouldn’t normally be able to walk upon.

As the slope gradually began changing constantly, shifting from steep to flat every now and then, Haruo continued onwards as if nothing was out of the ordinary. This particularly was easy due to the Supernatural Walking Practice technique, allowing Haruo’s feet to be planted firmly upon the steeper surfaces, causing him to defy gravity due to the chakra keeping his body aligned at a ninety degree angle with the slope.

He broke off in to a faster walking, wanting to get to the tower for no apparent reason than to simply see it for what it was. As the tower got closer, Haruo looked up; trying to see where the tower ended and the sky began. It was all for naught, as it was near impossible for him to see the very top of the Tower of Heaven from his current vantage point. Perhaps, he’d be able to climb up a bit higher this time around, to see how far the stairs now ascended. As he reached the base of the tower, he continued channelling chakra through his feet, so that when he began climbing the tower itself, now being parallel to the flat ground far below, Haruo began his steps upward, wanting to climb in through the first possible opening he would find. That in itself wouldn’t be too difficult to achieve because of the multiple openings that would soon be replaced by glass windows, or simple balconies were still not completed. When the tower was closer to being fully completed, he wouldn’t always have this option, but he enjoyed making use of the minimal shinobi training he had thus far.

As he walked closer to an opening, he slowed himself to adjust to being back on ‘level’ ground once he was inside the tower. The frame in which Haruo climbed through was meant to be a window, thus he got both his feet on the sill, before dropping down the short distance for the flatter ground. From where he was currently positioned, he assumed he was only two floors off the ‘ground level’ for the Tower of Heaven, located between the transition between two different staircases. In his immediate vicinity, he hadn’t noticed a single person, yet there was the notion in the air that the building wasn’t scarce of living beings. With a slight “Hello? escaping him, Haruo made his way towards the staircase that would lead him higher up the tower.

Dray watched from the opening as the young man approached the tower more and more. He knew coming up the mountain was far easier for a shinobi than a normal village dweller but he always settled for the most and not the least so he was definitely expecting more from this man if he happened to be a shinobi. The man’s advancement towards the base of the mountain seemed to take forever in the eyes of an edgy person but patience was an element that was not only learnt by Dray but it was born in him. In the first place, Dray had no reason for being here but look someone was coming here and there had to be a reason so if he happened to be a shinobi of the hidden cloud like Dray was then perhaps he could join in on the reason depending on what it was. He had made a resolution upon joining the village hidden in the clouds that he is going to meet his comrades and come to trust them because apart from himself and his puppets, he would have to depend on them if war broke. He had commenced on this plan by first meeting with the blossom lady, Ameryuu coincidentally who happened to be quite a beauty herself and something about her that he had discovered would remain known to him alone. He knew that there were more of the cloud shinobi that he had not yet met but why rush when there was time to spend in the village that is until he was ready on his mission to kirigakure no sato which was specially requested by the raikage.

Though his eyes were fixed on the approaching man but he was far lost in his thoughts that when he regained himself, the man was nowhere to be found. How so.. Dray thought but he had no reason at all to panic. If the man was indeed coming in here, then he would of course wait for him but his best guess was that the man was climbing up the mountain one way or the other. Dray shifted his eyes from the road track to the mountain below seeing as it was a slant one so he had high hopes of spotting the man if he was indeed climbing up. The black eyes of the special jounin scanned the mountains till he picked up a figure, climbing up the mountain with no stress at all. Dray peer more and he could well see that this young man had no thingamabob, interesting. Climbing up a mountain this tall without any gadget, then he was a shinobi indeed because one of the ways through which this was possible was if he is using the supernatural walking practice where by one gathers an amount of chakra to their feet and are able to walk on surfaces that they normally would not be able to walk on without the chakra beneath their feet.

Dray watched the person advance upward with great climbing skills. He was expected something other than this but still, to maintain the technique this long would require some nice chakra control and this person seemed to have it. Keeping an eye on the incoming fella, Dray would see him lean closer to the mountain side as if he was seeming to enter somewhere or maybe he was because Dray could no longer see him climbing up the mountain. Maybe it was some other window like the one that Dray was looking through but that would have to be on a floor below. Dray left the window side and proceeded down the stairs but they were taking way too long because Dray did not want to lose track of this person, his chance at making another friend, a comrade. Seeing as the building was not complete yet and that nobody was usually around to maintain it, there was a hole in the floor that Dray was so if he jumped down that hole, he would land on the floor beneath and hopefully where this person was. Nice. Making up his mind, he jumped off the stairs and down the hole without making a single sound of being afraid as he would land safely on the floor beneath him. Nice jump he would think until the voice would come behind him.. “Hello” he would hear as he would turn back to see a pink haired individual, the person that had probably been climbing up the mountain.

“Hey, am Zennyo Ryuo. Kumogakure, special jounin.” Dray would say to the young man while drawing his attention. “I have been watching your trip all the way into the tower and I see you’ve got some chakra control” Dray would continue while awaiting the young male’s response.

The slow pace he set at climbing up the staircase was for no purpose at all, though there was no real need to rush for Haruo, as he had only come here to see how far up the tower’s construction had gone. Of course, the journey up there would take a considerable amount of time, and he had more than enough time to climb up the tower today. The only issue Haruo found with the climb up was the entirety of all the staircases one needed to ascend to get closer to the top. Counting the amount of steps it took to climb from the current level to the next were far too many for Haruo to deem as appropriate, especially when considering how many floors he would need to go up. However, when one considered the height of the tower, the realization of how many steps would need to exist made a lot of sense, thus Haruo became a bit more accepting of how things were going to be for him for the remainder of his stay here. There would be at least another few floors to climb, considering the last time he was here, there was far less progression the other times he was here, though those were a long time ago.

As the he got closer to reaching the end of the stairs, Haruo simply began glancing around, looking from the right to the left. Initially, Haruo couldn’t tell the different between this floor and the previous one, except for the minor differences each floor was going to have, especially at this stage in the construction. For one, the main difference one could easily spot would be from the positions of the windows, not entirely traveling up in a patterned fashion, though that could easily change with time. Stepping on to the next floor, Haruo took in the wood, metal, and other materials used to construct the tower, as his right hand went up to push back his red hair, simply to get the stray strands of hair out of his field of vision.

Before he could really take in anything else, he heard a voice in the immediate vicinity, making Haruo jump slightly, unsure of what to make of the situation at hand. Turning to look at the person, as they introduced himself, Haruo took a few deep breaths to calm him down, though he should’ve been aware of the individual, as that would be something he would need to be aware of, especially when he sought out to be a shinobi. Considering Haruo had been mainly involved with his father’s business for the past few years, Haruo had to adjust to the shinobi life, especially when some around his age had been at it for as long as he was dealing with civilian business. The fact that the man, Zennyo Ryuo, had been watching him as he climbed up the mountain, was a bit creepy, solely do to the fact that he had watched his entire trek upward, and was aware of his entering the tower. Haruo supposed anyone else would be able to see him if they were in the tower and watching in the direction he had come from, though still a bit creepy as far as he was concerned.

As his heart rate slowed back down to a relatively normal pace, he cleared his throat, trying to think up the words to conjure up without making things far too awkward. He blinked a few times, his hands by his side, as he stepped away from the staircase, not wanting to accidentally step backwards on to them. “Uh… hi… Zennyo.” He paused, unsure of how to follow up, “I’m Haruo… Akemi Haruo.” He supposed he could lightly comment on the man’s perception of his trip towards the tower, though there was nothing special about what the sand user had done. Well, the only exception being carrying around the gourd on his back. “Umm… thank you…? I didn’t do anything special, really.  Simple academy technique that anyone can do.” He just looked back at the other male, unsure of how to continue onward, or what to make of the conversation really. He supposed if the other male had something to say, it would be said. There was always the fact that this person could be an enemy, as he noticed no apparent hitai-ate, though with the Chuunin Exams coming up, Haruo supposed he could simply be a visitor as well. Or a resident of Kumogakure no Sato that he hadn’t ever seen before, which could easily be a possibility as well.

Dray would observe the man while noticing the gourd on his back and his uncommon choice of clothing. The pink hair already made him stand out as Dray did not often see that and his inner wear also seemed to match the color of his hair. His skin was light and his eyes had a whole different color that did not match any other thing on him that Dray could possibly see right now. The young man seemed startled as to how Dray had approached him from behind but he quickly composed himself and Dray was almost forced to smile but he did not. The young man then turned to look at him as he took a few short breaths to probably calm himself down. After he seemed to have regained himself, he greeted Dray and followed up with his name, “Haruo Akemi Haruo.” Dray could not deny the fact that the name seemed a bit weird, seeing as the first and last name were the same, Haruo Haruo but there was no need to be concerned about someone else’s personal life.

Dray knew that there was nothing special about the supernatural walking practice and he was aware that it was a common academy technique but he did not remember if he went to the academy or not, he just found out that he could do it and he knew that a nice chakra control was required to maintain it for a long while. “It’s nice to be modest but my compliment still remains.” Dray would say to Haruo. “You might think I am being creepy to have taken note of you all the way from the bottom to the top but I just took a sudden interest in why anyone would want to come to this tower.” Having studied a lot about people and expression, Dray could tell from the look of this man that he wasn’t completely sure if Dray was who he said he was. The special jounin would then scratch his fore head while noticing that he had forgotten to wear his shinobi head band. “Ah.. I did forget my hitai- ate at home. I haven’t used it for a long while so I often forgot to put it on.”

“So, Haruo. Why have you come here. I would like to know to satisfy my curiosity.” He had hoped that his explanation would give the pink haired man before him a little confidence in him if not trust because trust was definitely out of the question seeing as they first met. The reason why he had a guard behind him was still something that baffled Dray a bit. Was he carrying water or what other thing could he be carrying in a gourd. Seeing as he had lost a valuable amount of his life and having no possible way to recover it, he had been constantly studying and visiting every library to keep himself updated with everything that had happened and was happening in the world and that included ninja clans, ninja abilities, gear and the likes of them but a gourd.. gourd.. that was one thing he could not say he knew about. “and what’s with the gourd anyway if I may ask?”

Haruo was completely unsure of what to make of things, perhaps it would be far more benefitial for him to turn around and simply leave the Tower of Heaven for today. He resided in the village of Kumogakure no Sato, thus it was simple enough for Haruo to simply visit this place at another time. For one, the most confusing thing was that this individual had repeated his name twice, inserting his family name in the middle. When Haruo had initially introduced himself, he had simply stated his given name to begin with, though he supposed he could supply his family name as well, thus he had paused before giving his family name and repeating his given name right after. The man’s repetition of Haruo’s name had no pause between it, as if transforming it in to something it completely wasn’t. ‘Haruo Akemi Haruo’ in the context of this Zennyo Ryou’s realm made no sense to the Sabaku descendent, one that had him puzzled for a bit, as he didn’t know how to go about such an apparent mistake. He supposed, it was best to allow Zennyo go with what he had supposed Haruo’s actual name was.

The compliment supplied by Zennyo in regards to Haruo’s ability to trek up the mountain was appreciated, but definitely not one he needed, definitely not one that would ease the lingering thoughts that constantly remained within the realm between his red hair. Simply, Haruo felt that there was so much he could do to improve not only his standing in regards to being a shinobi, but also the skills that one would need to develop to be recognized as something other than a mere genin.  “I appreciate the… uhh… compliment, I suppose.” Was Haruo’s response to saying the compliment would stay as is. The comment of Zennyo’s apparent creepiness certainly stuck in his mind, as his thoughts coincided with the words spoken by the stranger he met not even two minutes ago. His question as to why Haruo would come to the tower didn’t really have an answer that would be satisfying, though he supposed that he would need to provide an answer regardless. As he was going to supply an answer, Zennyo Ryou went on to state that he forgot his hitai-ate, though Haruo was still unsure as to what village the hitai-ate would be of, or if it would have a slash through it, indicating a missing-nin.

With Zennyo actually forming a question of Haruo’s visit here, Haruo supplied an answer a second after Zennyo had spoken, knowing that his answer was as simple as it sounded. “Because I wanted to. I haven’t been here for a while, so I wanted to see how far things have gone for the construction.” The words were simply rushed out by Haruo, as that was simply the truth in regards to his answer for Zennyo’s inquiry.

A bit after Haruo’s answering, Zennyo questioned the very thing Haruo carried upon his back, his gourd. The object was simple for Haruo, as it was something he had essentially been taught to utilize from a young age, though he had smaller variants for a much smaller body that he once occupied as a child. A gourd, his mother had told him, allowed one to be able to utilize sand techniques, especially when there was a lack of sand apparent for one to use. The gourd simply allowed one to carry around an abundant amount with them, so they would never be left without their defenses or offenses. Of course, the Sabaku who resided in the Land of Wind, around the village of Sunagakure no Sato, had an abundant amount of sand to utilize around them, sand that was constantly available to them and always within sight. Perhaps his mother could’ve moved back their one day, but it was apparent that she enjoyed it here in Kumogakure no Sato, especially since she had stayed with his father. “The gourd… has nothing specially, really. Just sand.” That was his answer to the inquiry, as the truth was what he had said. Whatever this person made of Haruo’s answer that was entirely left to them to figure out.

Thinking if he wanted to continue this… strange encounter with this outsider, at least from Haruo’s current stand point, the solution was simple enough to the Akemi. With his right hand going to brush his hair away from his eyes, Haruo simply walked towards the nearest window, deciding that would be the simple way to leave the tower. With a raised hand to signify his ‘good-bye’, Haruo issued out a simple farewell, “Well, I guess I may see you around sometime. I can always come back and see it anytime, so that’s no issue for me. See you later… Zennyo Ryou.” With that, Haruo simply dropped from the frame of the window, going in to a free-fall to the ground below.  Immediately as he dropped, his sand began to swirl out of his gourd, going to act as a cushion below his lower body as he would land upon the ground. Zennyo, if he saw the drop, would only be able to see the sand escaping the gourd the moment Haruo had decided to fall. There was barely a noise when he came in to contact with the solid ground below, knowing that he’d be taking a similar path home to the one he took to come here. Stepping off the sand and channelling chakra in to his feet, Haruo utilized the Supernatural Walking Practice technique once more to make his way down the mountain side. The sand that left the gourd simply rose back in to the air, all of it funnelling to the sole entrance of the gourd, the one used for both an escape and an entrance. There would not be a speck of sand remaining from the sand that was utilized by Haruo’s decent, as he made sure to gather it all up. With that, he was on his way back to the village.

The young man made it known that he had no much important reason for visiting the tower of heaven. He explained that he had been coming here sometimes so he just wanted to check on the tower and see how far that they had gone with the building. Dray did see it as a reason for someone to come to the tower seeing as it was still under construction. Dray himself knew he had no reason for being here and this pink haired man’s reason was not something that Dray could share in so just to be clear, there was not really much that they could do for each other. Anyway, it was nice to meet any kumogakure shinobi so maybe they would meet some other time in the village. The young man identified the gourd as something simple, an item and that it contained sand. For one moment, dray wondered if Haruo was joking but why would he joke and still have a non jovial face so that means he was indeed telling the truth but why would one need a sand in a gourd? Dray had never heard of it but there was always a first time and this time he had heard it so all that was left was to know what a sand in a gourd was for but that would have to be another day because Haruo was already announcing his leave. Dray had no issue with that since he also had no other reason to stay. With a swift movement, the pink haired man darted out the window as Dray moved closer to watch him fall freely. Now that was something interesting but what happened at the end was what would matter. Dray saw what looked sand gently flow out of the gourd and Dray got a bit interested. As the young man fell, the sand flowed beneath and formed a bed for him to land on as he stepped off it and got down safely. It was a nice skill and Dray saw what the sand was for meaning that the user could control it perhaps with chakra. Well, that was good and dray had to leave too so having a little fun wouldn’t hurt. Dray also darted out the window and fell freely and he looked to his left and right and saw the tall mountains, it was a beautiful sight but he did not forget that he had no sand. There was something better, something to receive him and that thing was nature itself. Thick green vines sprouted from the ground and stretched their hands to receive the falling son as he was caught by them and brought to the ground safely. We’ll meet again sand man, Dray said to himself.
