1 Training The Youngins [Mission/D-Rank] Sun Jul 05, 2015 10:01 pm

The young Uzumaki trudged along the path towards the Academy. That morning he had received a message from a former instructor of his at the Academy that he was to deliver a lesson to the eight year old class. It had entailed something along the lines of they may accept training easier from someone who had recently graduated, someone who was closer in age to them rather than the Jonin.
While he walked he thought back to the times when he was an Academy Student, did I ignore the teacher in class? A single pale hand raised upwards to scratch the back of his head in thought. No, I always wanted to be at the head, I listened. He was certain of that much, were they really having that much trouble, or did they just want a break?
Usually when something like this happened it was when there weren't many Jounin left in the village, still, he doubted it and walked through the entrance to the Academy. He was only a few minutes late, but he had left his home early. If he had truly been in a rush he could've arrived there in a few minutes, but he took a slightly longer way. Plus, he took it slow. There was no need to go rushing around the city, that would give his peers an idea of what he was capable of.
Shaking his head as he walked through the halls, he could only wonder as to how he had grown up so fast. It had only been three years ago when he had been the same age as the students he was about to teach. He wondered if they would like him as an instructor.
Slipping his hands into his pocket, he walked through the threshold to what was going to be his classroom that day. He didn't spare a glance at the class that quieted as they started to take notice. From the hushed whispers he knew they hadn't been told what sort of substitute of an instructor they were getting that day.
There were faint hints of a grin at the corner of his lips. That was certainly amusing.
He knew it was a big class, there were steps that led up, and he knew there would be a lot of them looking down on him. He shrugged, more to himself than anyone else and his eyes flew over the entire class quickly.
My job is to teach them an Academy Jutsu... It is my choice which one. There are quite a few, ugh. His face remained blank as he remained quiet. Teaching wasn't a thing that he did often, in fact, this was his first official mission really. Was he nervous? Certainly not, this kid's were nothing to him and he was certain he'd never see them again in his life.
"Substitution Jutsu." He sounded blurted out. An easy enough technique. "One of the greatest techniques in a shinobi's pool of jutsu." He started off clearly, his head rotated upon his shoulders and he looked into the corner to find the cupboard. "Volunteers," was the last word uttered from his mouth as he walked towards the cupboard and opened up the door.
He looked through it's contents. Ninja tools, kunai, shuriken and other equipment suitable for students of this age. He scanned from the top to bottom until he got to the bottom and the shelves stopped at the halfway point. He reached out and grasped the log that was there.
Taking it out with two hands, as he walked towards the other end of the room he poured his chakra into it as the majority of the class threw their hands but a trio of students were already lurching down the steps. They didn't wait to be called upon, they took what they wanted, and he accepted it. He placed the log down and pointed towards the desk where three kunai rested side by side.
His hand raised up towards the members of the class that were still in their seats. "Watch me, and then the log." His eyes remained on the trio the entire time as they lined up. "Throw your kunai at me." He said as he walked to the opposite wall of the log.
Suddenly the trio looked at each other in surprise, but they knew they had to listen. He figured they had already seen the technique before being taught.
They readied themselves, and with a nod the three kunai flew towards the Uzumaki. His gaze flickered over the classroom, his eyes seemed as if they were half-lidded, as if he were too lazy to take this lesson seriously, his hands came together to perform the single handsign that activated the jutsu and in what appeared to be the same moment his torso was penetrated and his sandals left the ground, throwing up what dust there was on the floor and underneath his feet.
There was a puff of smoke where he had been standing previously, and he remained leaning on the wall looking at the rest of the class.
It was a low and quiet sound as the "ooooo" sound turned into an "ahhhhhhh" one, and some even bothered to clap. He wasn't sure why, how could they have not known that was going to happen already?
Glancing to the trio, his head tilted to their seats and he walked back to the centre of the classroom.
"To perform this technique you need to pour a bit of your chakra into the object. The object must be the same size as your torso, or close enough that it makes no difference for this jutsu to be completed. If not, you will be in trouble."
His teeth clenched, he knew that his time for teaching was running short, but he didn't really know how to explain this. "Everybody outside."
Once they were outside and every student was infusing a small amount of their chakra into a log that fit them, the young genin walked past them all, repeating what he had said in the classroom minutes before.
They all had partners who they would perform the jutsu with, and were equipped with training kunai. They didn't pierce, they just stuck fast to the first target they hit. He was certain someone would be badly injured if they were real.
That'd be bad for my first ninja. Even if it is this uneventful.
"Begin."
The sound of shuriken and kunai being thrown were heard all around him as he walked through the rows and columns they had formed. A class of thirty students, fifteen ninja tools being thrown, 15 puffs of smoke almost simultaneously and for a moment Satoshi didn't see a thing in front of him.
Somehow he had maneuvered his way through his students and when the smoke cleared, some of the more excitable ones started cheering "I did it!"
He snorted. They'd be his comrades one day. It was hard to imagine.
And he gave the signal for it to happen again, the other half of the class hadn't had their turn after all, and there were more puffs of smoke. The same shouts of success and then they were lined up in front of him again.
"Report to your next class."
They charged back in, he heard the sounds of bragging from the students, and he looked around for a moment. Where should I go next? The walls? I've got other missions I suppose. He shrugged.
"They don't all have to be completed right away do they?"
He made a hmph sound as he walked away from the academy. The same slow gait that was going to be taking him towards the city's gigantic walls.
