1 Running Through the Six With my Supplies [Mission/D-Rank] Fri Jul 10, 2015 6:07 pm
Joruri
D-rank
It was a pretty windy morning the young shinobi had taken note that morning. He rested on roof of his home looking out over the Village. It was his first day on mission after leaving the hospital a few weeks ago. He had been told to take it easy, to not perform missions too dangerous. Back in the hospital he remembered groaning in response but he had hurried home to resume his training. The physical portion of it anyway. He had lost count of how many push-ups and sit-ups he had done.
Although Joruri did know they had been ceaseless. He would continue all day and then fall asleep on the hard wooden floor. He had continued to build up his stamina by running around his family’s courtyard, through and around the house. Although it probably wasn’t good for his head with all of the physical movement, but he wanted to stay in the best shape possible for when he returned to the field for actual missions.
“I’m a shinobi of the Leaf Village.” He said proudly, looking out over the village from the eastern edge of town, and then that was when he realized his mission took him to the other side of the village. “This is going to be a long one.” He leapt from the roof of his house and was gone within a moment. He had to rush to the Administration Building and then towards the Army’s Training Camp… Apparently as quickly as possible.
While he traveled throughout the village to the administration building, he saw other ninja rushing to gather their missions for the day. Huh, I’m not the only one in a rush it seems. He chuckled to himself lightly as he latched onto the edge of a building and pushed off of it to land in front of the Administration Building. “Right on time,” he announced proudly as he rushed into the building to gather his things. It had never occurred to him as to how he was going to carry ice cream through the village quickly, but he was a shinobi, he’d figure it out.
So it’s in a rectangular container? Ice cream wasn’t something that often made an appearance in his home, but he knew that he loved the taste of it. Maybe if he brought it to the officer on time he’d be able to get a taste. He smiled at the thought, standing in the sun in front of the administration building . “What if he offered me some?” Then it occurred to him he wasn’t moving, and he looked to the left, then the right, and moved in the direction of the latter. “I can’t let this ice cream melt!” He whispered to himself as if it were the most important mission in his life. In some ways it was, it was simply how the young Genin operated. It was his work ethic, do everything to the best of your ability, no, exceed your limit to complete a mission no matter how insignificant it was at the end of the day. Do more than your best, and never accept failure as an option.
He nodded as he saw the military camp coming into sight. He was nearly there. Pausing for a moment, he slid the container off of his back and felt the container, it was still cold. He was lucky that the sun was in front of him and warmed his face instead of his back. It left the container in what little shadow was formed on his back and kept it away from the heat.
Leaping off of this building too and carefully replacing the container into it’s satchel as he landed on the next building. He dropped off of the building and now began to sprint, leaping over a cart that was in his way. He saw other ninja heading to the camp. There was obviously going to be other officers who wanted ice cream, it made sense to him, but he had to make his happy first! And he started to run faster than he had ever done in his life before this moment.
He charged through the flaps of the tent, and slid over a table just as one of his target’s subordinates was placing a mug of coffee down. It didn’t fall down, not from what he could tell, but no one had ever said that Joruri wasn’t clumsy. And he stopped, breathing heavily in the centre of the large tent. He slipped the ice cream out of his satchel and placed it onto the table as if it were the most divine item he had ever held. It was done more as a joke, but he was happy that it still felt frozen in his hand, but that was probably because of it’s slowly melting properties within.
“Here you go.” He grinned, and before the officer could even thank him, he cut him off with a, “your welcome,” and was running out of the tent again. Even though he had a love for the taste of ice cream, he had other things to do that day and couldn’t waste any more time on frivolous activities.
