1 P-p-p-patrol [Mission/D-Rank] Sun Jul 05, 2015 10:27 pm
Yasutake
D-rank
He knew it was going to be a long day. His mission consisted of him patrolling. It wasn't something that he'd particularly find enjoyable, but it was better than actually leaving the Village. If he went too far away he'd have to actually make a tent and prepare food from the wild.
It wasn't that he was against it, in fact sometimes it was nice, but the thing was it was tiring to put up the act of a disinterested person who was lazy all at the same time. There were times when his slow gait started to take on the one of a person who actually had a purpose in life.
Of a person that was actually in a rush or going some place. The perfectionist in his mind wanted to be on time always, but he had determined it was a requirement to be late if there was nothing too important to be doing. For example, D-Ranked Missions.
The mission would've certainly enticed him if it consisted of him actually dealing with the problem if they found any. But alas, he was told explicitly to report it to a higher ranking shinobi. In fact, he was apart of a team, of two genin and another Chunnin. Satoshi had the the North and West, while the other genin had the South and East. The Chunnin remained at their starting point in the event that they actually did come across something.
All three members had been given an earpiece to contact the Chunnin. When Satoshi had received his he had been tempted to drop when they had all gone their separate ways but it certainly wouldn't have looked good on his report grade, or whatever they called it.
Pressing his foot against the tree branch, he pushed himself to even greater lengths. Now, he was simply pushing himself to go even faster. He didn't know where he was going other than he was going North.
This is far enough I suppose... He was going to circle around to the West and if he found nothing go back to the village and hope that his peer had found something of interest.
Okay, maybe not hoping he was successful, but rather his journey had been uneventful as his own.
While he leapt through the trees that hung over the road he took note of a group of merchants heading towards Kirigakure, and as he landed in the next tree top he stopped. Without noticing he was already on the path to heading back to the Village. He frowned.
Am I already returning to the village?
He shook his head, it was certainly confusing. Was I really going that fast? He pushed off off of the branch and continued towards the village, only a few minutes ahead of the merchants.
Satoshi knew returning so soon without coming up with anything would've been embarrassing. I can't look so bad... So he decided for a rest, stopping in a tree he rested his back on the trunk of the old tree and he rested there. Closing his eyes for a moment he sunk into a light sleep. It was almost like he was slowing sinking into a pool of water, but the process was so slow he heard the merchants going past under him and then he heard nothing for a while...
A scream tore through his consciousness. It was as disturbing as nails on chalk, but he didn't know why he had made that comparison. His fingers had already traveled upwards to his ear and contacted the Chunnin.
He saw the merchants down the road, he was leaping through the trees towards them. In his ear the Chunnin had confirmed that he was on his way, and the other Genin had made it known that he was heading back to the village...
