Kazui
D-rank
Kazui Sat still as she listened to the sounds around her. Bird a singing in the tree behind her and those around her. She recognized some of the bird a by the songs, and they brought a smile to her lips as the added their cheerful songs to the music. A breeze, soft and warm, actresses the trees and their leaves, and Kazui could hear their dancing as they moved to the sound. There was a flowing sound, faint but intelligible. A gently flowing river was nearby, she could sense the calmness of it's waters by the sound. The gentle sound of a languorous current caressing a fallen tree limb or large stone. It was far enough that the soft sound was barely heard, and would not be audible had Kazui been up and moving. A rustling sound was added to the music as some small animal, a lizard or a mouse probably, scurried around looking for food or shelter, perhaps even a mate. Together the music of his small section of forest was a beautiful symphony of gentle music.
The wind stirred again, and sent Kazui's long oddly peachish-amber hair to dancing. Her shirt, white decorated with red accents, and her knee length skirt in the opposite colors, swayed in the breeze. Kazui neither opened her eyes, nor moved. She had come into the forest to explore and have some fun, but had chosen to stop and sit in a small patch of grass. Unlike most people her age, Kazui meditated. And this spot had called out to her as a good place to sit and listen. So she had sat down and commenced listening, not even sparing the energy to think. She didn't think about what she heard or felt, nor react. Her mind was wholly devoted to sensing and perceiving the sounds around her, the feel of the breeze, and the softness of the grass on which she sat. Finally, after what might have been minutes or an hour, her eyes opened as she stood up, stretching her body after the stillness. A rustling in a bush behind her caused her to immediately turn and tense, only for a fox to run off to her right. With a snap of it's jaws it fled with a small lizard in its mouth.
Kazui relaxed visibly. For a moment had been frightened. The sound of the fox bursting from the bush had sounded nearly identical to the sound of the bandits who had captured her bursting out of the bushes in ambush. For a moment she had been preparing herself to attack, despite her lack of weaponry. The memory of the even still weighed heavily on her mind. She had so nearly been given to a bandit leader as a likely sex slave, and she wasn't likely to forget how she hadn't been able to protect herself from them. She still beat herself up for it. But regardless, that was the point of her plan to get active with her training. She wanted to be able to protect others as well as herself. Kazui sighed and stretched again as she relaxed. It was time to explore more of these woods. Next would be finding the nearby river. Maybe she would take a swim.
