Fukai
D-rank
The young man stepped inside. As dingy as the place was, this was just what he was looking for. A nondescript place to hang low and get his thoughts together. The barman kept to the back, not bothering to acknowledge his entrance. He seemed to hold the same attitude for life that his customers did. Fukai walked up to the bar and flicked out a few notes. The house ale. It was going to taste like shit, but he wasn't here to sample the local vintage. The barman didn't react and instead stood stock still with what seemed like contempt. The purple eyed man returned his hard gaze and then turned around and found a seat at the back of the room in a dark corner. It was the only one with a table that stood upright and didn't have a smelly drunk sprawled over it. The bartender finally got up and begrudgingly picked up the ryo and poured the drink. Fukai wondered what his deal was, he probably showed disdain at the ninja that represented the new generation and the wide potential of futures that they had.
The man delivered the drink, slamming it down onto the table without finesse. Service with a smile. Fukai couldn't help himself. He received a sneer in return. While watching the barman stomp back over to his perch at the end of the bar, the young mans thoughts wandered. He had grown by quite a large margin in recent times, and he felt stronger than he had ever been. So this begged the question: What was he going to do with his future? What was he looking for? He felt pride as an Iwa nin, but was that enough for him? He couldn't seem to find the answers to these questions. Fukai felt like he needed to discover himself to find what he was searching for. How could he do that? ... He thought back to his recent missions. Some of them had taken place way out in the land of stone, every time he went on one of these trips to new places he had always found himself happy. Meeting new people, exploring new places, experiencing new adventures. The thought caused an unexpected rush of positive endorphins. Fukai took a sip of the ale he had purchased and tried hard not to spit it out as soon as it entered his mouth. Somehow, it was even worse than he had expected.
One of the drunks that was leaning on the bar made an abrupt noise during his sodden slumber and fell off his stool, crashing to the ground. There was no particular reaction made by anyone in the room and the man that was now on the floor didn't even seem to wake. I have never been outside the land of stone the genin mused. What would the world be like? ... I wonder how I would even find out? Maybe if he traveled to new places he would 'find himself'. As Fukai came to this conclusion, the bar door swung open and a strange looking man walked in, stepping over the grounded drunk.
