Mission description: A few cats belonging to an old lady have run away, she requested help on getting them back. Your job is to find the five missing cats and bring them home. All cats must be brought back alive and well or you fail.
Riss stood in front of the mission board staring blankly at the sheets of paper scattered across its surface. Her eyes darted from mission to mission, trying to find one that she would not only be allowed to do, but also be easy enough for her to complete. Spotting a mission, she grabbed it off the board and started to read over it a little more closely. With a small grin, she quickly signed up for the mission. The mission she had picked seemed somewhat simple, especially for a Genin. Walking out of the administration building, she looked down at the piece of paper she was given to make sure she was going to the right location. All she had to do for this mission was retrieve a few lost cats. The only issue she would have would be scouring the city for them. With a shrug, she could only hope she would get done with the mission in a semi-quick manner. Her search took her deep into the city. Riss’ morale was at an all-time high, mainly because she was able to find two of the five cats almost immediately. The two felines had been in the marketplace simply wander about. Picking both up with one arm for each, she travelled to the house of the old woman who owned them and dropped them off. She immediately went back into the city once the two cats were safe and sound. The next two cats were a bit harder to find, but were still found nonetheless. One of the cats was rooting around in some trash bins near the academy, while the other was sleeping on top of a chair near a restaurant. Soon enough, she only had one cat left.
An hour passed, and Riss was getting irritated that her search was taking so long. With a sigh, she was about to turn to double back and search areas she previously was in. Just as she turned, she heard a soft meow above her. Pausing and looking directly up, she noticed a large brown ball of fur sitting on a branch of a tree. Riss laughed as she walked over to the base of the tree and grabbed a lower hanging branch. Gripping the branch the cat was on and climbing up, she adjusted herself to make sure she wouldn’t fall off. Extending her open hand out, she started to make kissing noises in hope of getting the cat to come closer. As her hand got closer and closer to the cat, it took a quick swipe at Riss’ hand. Pulling her hand back, she glared at the cat and prepared to make a grab for it. Lunging forward, the feline jumped down from the tree and started to run away. Riss wasn’t going to let the mission fail by losing the cat now. Dropping down from the tree, she instantly went into a full sprint. Slowly gaining speed, she started to close in on the cat. Mimicking the cat as it darted left and right, she reached her arms out and caught the cat around its torso. Holding the cat up from underneath its arms, she turned it around to face her. Sticking her tongue out, she tucked the cat under her arm and brought the cat back to the old woman.
As Riss returned with the last cat, she could see the old woman waiting for her on the front porch of her house. The old woman grinned and bowed her head slightly. “Thank you dearie. This really means a lot that you brought my cats back.” As the old woman spoke, she started to slowly limp towards Riss. “It wasn’t a problem miss.” Riss started to sound a bit nervous and leaned back slightly as the woman started to come a bit too close to her. The woman stretched out a wrinkled hand and pinched Riss’ right cheek. Riss cringed and took the pinch. She didn’t want to be rude, and certainly didn’t want to anger to old woman by rejecting her ‘thanks’. The moment her cheek was released, Riss bowed and left without another word. Once she was out of sight of the old woman, she rubbed her now red cheek. She was glad she got the mission done, though the added reward was incredibly unnecessary. Returning to the administration building, she turned in the slip and was rewarded for her mission.
