Puling up his boots, Genki slid his left foot into his boot, tying the laces tightly so as to not come undone during the days regime. Genki blinked his magenta eyes and stared at the floor for some time before continuing to tie his other boot onto his other foot. Once done, Genki got up from his bed and stretched a little, groaning as a bone cracked in turn, thus releasing a sigh of relief.
"Time to go." Genki said to himself as he exited his house, locking the door behind him.
Genki made his way through the village, fixing his coats arms around his own and double checking his appearance on his course. It was one of those days where Genki had to make sure that he looked good. Nothing looks better than a dirty ninja. He prided himself on looking appealing for his fellow villagers and his family's name.
"I wonder what mom would have said if she could see me now. Maybe be a little embarrassed at the tailoring thing, but then again, I'm sure she would have something to say about father as well." He murmured to himself, running his left hand through his hair as the steady wind messed it up. After a while of travelling, Genki had made it to the training grounds.
Upon entering, Genki quickly removed his coat and threw it aside to allow him more maneuverability. Stopping in his tracks, he tapped the toe his his boots twice on the ground, each, before stretching some more. This is where his training came into effect. Genki braced himself as he looked out to the running track in front of him, designed to improve a ninjas speed. Obviously, this track was catered to the fissures in the ground, so it would also include some jumping here and there. Upon further inspection, Genki leapt from one foot and dashed ahead, running as fast as his feet would carry him before having to jump over obstacles and roll beneath them.
This had gone on for about 2 hours before Genki's body began to held him back, his breath becoming heavy and sweat drenching his clothing. Genki had to bring himself to a halt before he tripped and crash landed.
After regaining his breath and energy, Genki scanned the arena for a worthy combatant to help further his offensive skills. Although, it didn't take long for him to narrow his attention on to another shinobi of same level to himself. Picking up a wooden training sword in his right hand, he carried another in his left before walking over to the girl across from him.
Walking up to her, Genki gave notice by shouting her before throwing the training sword to her. The girl turned and caught the weapon, staring at Genki in confusion.
"Wanna spar a little?" He asked, bowing a little before bracing himself, his sword pointed to the ground and his posture straight and stern, his right foot placed in front of himself . The girl complied with Genki and readied herself. Genki examined her posture and could tell she had practiced the blade, but not to the same level. Genki frowned at this.
"Ready? Fight!" He exclaimed, rushing forward while simultaneously drawing his blade across his body before bringing it down in an arc like motion towards the girl, who swiftly ddged the attack and followed up with a simple uppercut with the blade towards Genki's face. Watching her posture, Genki had already anticipated the attack and followed the same motion as the oncoming blade and brought himself back into a back-handspring, creating a small distance between the two. Once his feet were firmly planted to the ground, he lunged forward and drew his blade to his side before catching the girl off guard with a 1-2 follow up combo, knocking the girl back a bit. The girl winced as the blade was brought across her chest twice. She glared at Genki as she brought her blade overhead, but pointed at Genki always.
Genki noticed this slight move, but could not anticipate her next attack where she lunged at him and brought her blade down in one quick swing, where Genki then blocked the attack by guard himself with his own blade. This then allowed the girl to use Genki as balance where she then pushed herself up into a handstand on Genki's blade, jump off and submit an above attack to Genki's frontal lobe. Once struck, Genki fell back and clutched his head with his free hand.
"You bitch..." He cried, his magenta eyes turning to her in a fit of rage. He gripped his blade tighter as he felt a small trickle of blood come across his forehead. The girl held the same blank expression she had done the entire match and watched the ninja lose a piece of himself.
'What are you doing? Calm yourself down or you're going to throw the match! Don't let her win, but don't be stupid!' He thought to himself as his body continued to act on it's own. Raising his sword arm, he pointed his blade at the girl before jabbing several times at her chest and face, the girl nimbly dodging each attack before ducking and following up with another uppercut attack. Although Genki noticed the change in her posture the moment she attempted, allowing him to move out of the way from her attack and bring himself down to her level. Locking eyes with the girl, he brought his blade across in front of himself, hitting the girl bang on the face where she then yelled in pain and fell back, clutching her face.
Genki stood up straight, his head still stained somewhat red from the girls earlier attack.
"You're pretty good. Where did you learn to fight like that?" He asked the girl, now into a crouch while still placing one hand over her own face. Through a gap between her fingers, the girls piercing green eyes shot straight into Genki's magenta ones. The gaze between the two seemed to slow time around them as what seemed like an eternity of silence came to an end. The girl simply replied with:
"What does it matter? As long as I can fight, what difference does it make?"
Genki stared at the girl, cocking his head a little. 'What's that supposed to mean? It was only a question.' He thought to himself as he watched the girl rise to her feet. The girl shook her head and wiped her face. Genki had now just noticed the damage of his earlier attack. He had created a gash along the girls face, starting from her right cheek, along her nose and to her left cheek. He cringed a little at the girls face he knew that the girls medical bill was gonna be pricey. 'Time to talk nicey to grandad.' He thought sheepishly to himself, scratching his left elbow.
"Don't underestimate me!" The girl shouted, throwing her arm down in one motion with her arm. "You started this, so we're gonna finish this!" She exclaimed further, bracing herself for more training. Genki wasn't one to back down, but he did worry a little for the girls state of mind. He had remembered that only earlier on even he had a moment of rage, and look what had happened then. He did not want another repeat from what he done as it did not look pretty. He already had a scar to care about, never mind another one that this girl would leave. Genki braced himself and placed his eyes onto the girls.
The air was still and the atmosphere was indeed tense, not to mention that during all this time, Genki had not noticed that they both had created a small crowd in the arena. He didn't intend to put on some sort of show for these people, he had only wanted to go out and do some training. Not to mention a now growing headache at the back of his eyes. Which may have been inflicted by the earlier frontal lobe attack submitted by our MVP. Genki looked over at the girl who was more or less ready to unleash all kinds of hell on him.
"Might as well get this over with now."
Genki placed his left foot in front of his right and as soon as he did so, the girl lunged for Genki, bringing out a Kunai in the process and dropping her wooden blade. Genki's eyes widened in shock as he jumped back, receiving a small cut on his arm in result from not reacting in time. As Genki jumped, he brought back his blade and took a few more steps back upon landing. 'What the hell?! Where did that come from?!' he thought to himself.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" He shouted to her, the girl clearly not caring.
The girl smiled as she played with her kunai in her left hand.
"What? Do you think that real ninja play with kiddy swords in the heat of battle? You scared?" She said in a mocking tone as if to say she had already won.
Genki growled at the girl. 'Is she saying I'm not a real ninja? I'll show her who's not real!' he said to himself. Genki flipped his sword from his right hand to his left as he lunged at the girl, who in turn lunged at him. Genki lifted his blade to eye level, his blade brought back as the girl raised her Kunai and brought it down as hard and as fast as she could, her eyes clearly in a craze. As soon as the Kunai touched Genki, however, Genki then turned into a cloud of smoke, dissipating from the girls view. The girl, confused by what just happened, took a moment to realize what he had done. As they were staring each other off, Genki had taken the time to prepare himself for this attack. The Girl turned round to notice that there were 4 Genki's dropping from the ceiling above her, the blades drawn in above their heads, replicating the girls earlier frontal lobe attack. The girl only had a split second to react, so, before the clones could be brought down on her, the leapt back from the area, dodging each clones attack. The girl began to laugh before noticing that neither of the clones had shadows. How could she have known? They were airborne! After noticing this, she then realised the ultimate goal.
Genki had then appeared, after having watched the girl jump from the clones, and jumped behind her, his blade drawn back before the girl could notice his presence.
"Game over for you, sweetcheeks." He whispered, the girl turning in shock before Genki unleashed a barrage of 5 attacks, the 5th attack being the final attack which then propelled the girl into the ground, dirt flying around the area as soon as she hit the ground with a prominent thud. Genki then landed several feet away from her, in case she was to use the dirt cloud as cover for an attack, so he waited for the cloud to disappear. The girl was still lying there, her body writhing every now and then. Genki slowly walked up to her to notice that she was crying. Genki, kneeling next to the girl after having smacked her Kunai away, moved the girls golden hair from her dirty face.
"Use your training. Keep at it and you'll get there someday." He whispered, dropping his sword next to her before leaving the scene. It had been too long a day, as the sun was beginning to fall and night was slowly following.
However, on his way home he could tell that something about him was different. His vision had somewhat changed and the headache which he had earlier had gone in almost an instant as soon as he left the training grounds. Genki didn't too much on it.

- Jutsu Used:
- Name: Doppelganger Technique (影分身の術 ~ Bunshin no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: Clones can go up to 15 meters away from the user before dispersing.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: Clones last until dissipated or cancelled.
Cooldown: Five posts after all clones are dispersed.
Description: Using this technique, the user can create up to five intangible clones that appear physically identical to the user; these are created within 3 meters of the caster. The clones do not disturb the area around them, don't have shadows or body heat, and as such, in applicable situations, ninja can pick them out with varying difficulty. The clone has no physical form, and as such cannot attack. When any foreign presence passes through the clone, be it physical (a fist, a rock, a sword) or an opponent's jutsu, the clone will dissipate. It's mainly used to help mask the user, helping them attack an opponent who is superior at dodging. It costs 5 chakra to create clones.
Name: Substitution Technique (変わり身の術 ~ Kawarimi no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: One prepared item in the user's clear line of sight.
Speciality: Ninjutsu.
Duration: 1 post preparation. Infinite postponement, Instant activation.
Cooldown: 6 posts after activation.
Description: The Substitution Technique is an age-old skill which enables the user to evade the effects of an attack by switching with an item in the area. (The item---or substantial clone---used for a Substitute must be as large as the user's torso, and must be prepared at least 1 post in advance by infusing it with 5 chakra.) Activating this jutsu for another 5 chakra, the ninja moves at untraceable speed for just a moment, and the item does so as well to take the user's place; the ninja leaves behind a flickering after-image for a second, which, if damaged, releases the chakra which holds it in place in a small smoke cloud, revealing the nature of the technique and the item they have switched with. Higher-rank ninjas' afterimages are able to show some of the signs of natural impact as if it were an actual human, if only for a very short period, before 'poofing'. The user coming out of the technique creates a similar audio and visual cue with a small cloud of translucent smoke and a 'poofing' sound on appearance in the location of the item they Substituted with. This technique causes the user to move at speeds untraceable to human perception, and therefore even the user cannot coordinate attacks during the Kawarimi, or activate any other jutsu. They, however, can maneuver near someone and then attack them after the fast-movement is finished.
