It had finally come. After a lengthened hiatus, Toshiko was back out doing his ninja duties and on another mission in sunagakure. Last time, he and a suna ninja named zaiaku had went to an apparently abandoned science lab in the sand dunes to get rid of some strange mutants that the scientists and been illegally creating. It was a difficult, and somewhat terrifying mission for Toshiko, as he didn't see reason to cause harm to the creatures. Despite that, him and his comrade got it done, Now, sunagakure sent him out on another mission to provide services to their village as long as he was their guest there. His next assignment involved a bloodthirsty wolf that had been terrorizing a small village in the slums. eating and killing two civilians and continuing to attack more people. They summoned him to put a stop to it as soon as possible and end it's existence. It sounded like a horrible creature, but toshiko couldn't kill it of course. He refused to. Despite that he still had to put a stop to it. He had to do what he was asked, but could he find a way to do so without breaking his own morals?

Toshiko set out that morning, heading for the small village in the slums that the wolf was reportedly seen in the night before. After a time of walking moderate in length, he arrived there to find a seemingly normal village. As Toshiko walked through, nothing really seemed to be of an issue. up until he got to the very center of the village. A medium sized crowd of people were gathered around the gate to a cemetery and slowly coming in. Toshiko made his way over to them, and then noticed that there were a few bodies that weren't yet buried. They were strangely raged, some of them even missing pieces of flesh on their bodies. It wasn't too insane but it was very noticeable. Toshiko got a strange tingle up his spine and the hair on the back of his neck stood up once he actually got near them. He hated death with a passion, and being around it scared him. He still had to endure it, and he knew this. Ninjas had to make sacrifices all the time. He looked at the people who had gathered around. Most were other ninja, probably assigned to help with the burials as well. some, were genuine mourners. People who were sad because of those who had died. maybe their family, maybe close friends. Toshiko stared at them with a frown upon his face. Their sorrow had brought him great discomfort, making him feel a strange sense of empathy and guilt.

The graves had been dug, and now it was time for the bodies to be buried. The other ninja didn't need an introduction from toshiko, probably had already been notified that he was on the way beforehand. It was a moment of silence for those who had been lost. Toshiko was hesitant, but knew that these corpses deserved the respect of a proper burial, He picked up one of the bodies, and placed it into the hole that had been dug. The other ninjas grabbed up the bodies of the fallen and dropped them carefully into individual holes that had been dug inside of the burial ground. The bodies were cold as ice. Their lack of feeling made Toshiko's blood boil as well as frighten him completely at the same time. How could a living creature do this to another? He didn't understand or condone the way that living beings treated each other. This wolf was a monster in his eyes, and he'd take care of it on his own. He kept grabbing up the bodies and then dropping them into their holes. Two other ninja came along and began covering the holes up with the dirt. The task was done. after the mourners said goodbye, the crowd slowly began to disperse, and night fall came. Toshiko was done with the first part of his mission. Now came the hard part.

Night had fallen. It was time.

The wolf would be out roaming and looking for prey to target now, and Toshiko would plan on using himself as bait. He looked around. The streets were empty for the most part. any noise being made was coming from houses. Peace and quiet. If he wanted to get the attention of the wolf, he'd have to draw it out somehow. he was on top of one of their smaller buildings in the village, providing him with an outlook of the village to see where it could possibly come from. It was time for him to take action. Quickly he jumped down from the building, landing on the streets. There was still no sight of anyone. It wasn't too dark outside though. It was late. The light of the moon shined down, providing a luminous view of the village. Toshiko was feeling mixed emotions at the moment. He had dedication to the mission he was provided with, and intended to complete it. Especially after he had the displeasure of witnessing all of those dead individuals who had lost their lives at the hands of the wolf beast. But honestly, he was also a little bit scared too. If the wolf was capable of terrorizing the villagers, it may be able to do some substantial amount of damage to him as well.

"Help! Please!"

The cries of a man could be heard from at least a mile away. Toshiko heard the calls for help, and then started running towards the direction of them. He ran through the streets, making a right and cutting through an alleyway. He ended up in a somewhat darker area, with only the streetlight to give him a sense of light and direction. He heard nothing anymore, and opened his mouth to call out for the man.

"Hey! Hello! Sir? Are you here?!?"

His words received no response, only the echoes that came back to him from the sky. He waited for a few seconds, and then he heard something. a footstep. Followed by another. and another. He turned around, and then saw a man standing there before him. There were deep bite wounds in his body. One in his shoulder, and one in his forehead. Blood was spewing out of both wounds. He opened his mouth to say something, and nothing but gasped came out as he collapsed to the ground, either incapacitated or dead. Out of the shadows came the creature who had given the man the wounds. the wolf. It growled loudly, blood from the man covering it's sharp teeth. Toshiko quickly came over with anger as he stared at the man who had been hurt by the wolf, and he got ready to fight. the wolf became taken over by it's own blood lust, and then pounced forward towards Toshiko.

Toshiko didn't decide to evade. Instead, he cocked back his fist and then aimed a punch directly at the nostril of the wolf at full force. The hit connected, sending the wolf flying back and landing down hard on it's back. It whimpered, and then rolled over and growled once more. Toshiko wasn't phased by it at all, and decided that he'd make this quick. The wolf ran towards him once more. Instead of pouncing him like before, it ran in a circles around him, and then jumped up at him attempting to bite the left side of his head. Toshiko put his arm up to deflect the jaw of the wolf, and the wolf instead sunk it's teeth deep into Toshiko's left forearm. He yelled out in pain, and then threw his arm forward causing the wolf to dislodge the teeth from his arm and was sent flying forward into the wall in front of them. While the wolf was disoriented, Toshiko quickly inhaled deeply while making the tiger hand seal, filling his mouth with chakra, and then fired katon chakra out of his mouth, unleashing a fire ball unto his opponent. The wolf quickly got up to dodge, but his entire back side was hit with the fire ball. He screamed out in pain, falling to the ground and whimpering as it twitched uncontrollably.

It was defeated. That easily. It was defeated. Just as that happened, the whimpers from the wolf brought a few individuals out into the scene. Toshiko turned around to see 4 other ninjas of the village there with him.

"The wolf. It's defeated."

One of the ninjas walked up to the wolf as it whimpered on the ground, pulled out a kunai, and then jammed the kunai into the throat of the wolf, killing it almost instantly. Toshiko did it. His job was done. With the death of the wolf not on his hands but done, his mission was complete. he turned to the four ninjas, and helped up the man who had been wounded by the wolf.

"Please see to it that he receives medical attention. I'll be on my way."

He handed over the wounded man to the ninjas, and then went on his way to leave the village, heading back to his hotel in sunagakure.
