Strafe Aisu
D-rank
A young ninja sat at the desk of his home. Out the window, there was a majestic lion bathing in the sun. Strafe was dressed in his usual blue and white clothing. His ninja headband sat tied on his right arm and his staff was leaning against the wall beside him. The air was tense with anxiety as Strafe wrote carefully on the parchment in front of him. What would he say to his cousin? Would Solstice even talk to him? Part of him said yes, but another part knew what his actions probably did. Mitsuo was worth any price, but even he had started to notice how home sick he was. Their conversation had been a sad one, but it was agreed that Strafe needed to return to Kiri, if they would allow it. Strafe would try to ask for permission to see Mitsuo and for the Konoha ninja to visit Kiri. If everything went well, he would get the best of both worlds. This train of thought gave him the words he needed to say.
With the letter finished, he rolled it up and attached it to a messenger bird that he borrowed. He made sure the letter was safe on the leg of the animal before opening the window and sending him off. He quickly walked over to his staff and put it on the holster behind him. With a quick few steps he got over to the table and grabbed his tool pouch, tieing it on his right leg. His last few moments in the house were spent looking at a picture of him and Mitsuo. This wasn’t the end for them, he wouldn’t let it be. He set the picture in his tool pouch and looked around the house one last time. With a sigh, he turned and walked out the door, closing it behind him. He had already said his goodbyes to Mitsuo, so there were no one else to speak too. Momaru immediately responded by walking over. “Are you sure that this is what you want? “ Strafe thought one last time about his decision before looking up at his friend and responding. “Yea, let’s go.”
With a simple leap, Strafe landed on the back of his companion and raced off down the road. The bird would have plenty of time to get there first. They weren’t going to rush getting there. Strafe needed the time to clear his head and prepare. Their moderate pace made for a smooth ride as he was left with nothing but his thoughts. He didn’t even notice when the tall trees around him eventually faded away and were replaced by the deep mist that signified the start of his home country. Once they got to water, A boat was waiting on him to take him across. Strafe quickly dropped ryo into the owners hand and they boarded the vessel. Moonlight bounced off the surface of the water, which made for peaceful scenery on such a monumental night. Once he touched down on ground again, he would be in Kirigakure. There was no going back now.

“Dear Mizukage
I’m sure Dameon told you about my leaving the village. For not coming and talking to you personally, I am deeply sorry. I will be traveling to Kiri tonight, and hope to be able to speak with you about returning. I know I do not deserve this second chance, but I ask that you find it in your heart to at least hear me out. I do not mean the village harm and will not resist if you choose to take precautions. I hope this letter shows you that I am serious in my willingness to do whatever it takes to return home.
Your Cousin, Strafe”
