Dray was still feeling uneasy. Though, this was not his first c- ranked mission but he had never had to escort any one before. As he lay on the grass in the forest, he remembered what had happened earlier in the day. He got up early and had his bath. He put on his usual attire and checked his ninja pouch.. all weapons present. He sheathed his blades and put on his fore head protector. He left for the hokage’s office walking through the streets of the village. He watched as the civilians of the village walked by cheerfully. Such a simple life style they had, he thought to himself. He once had that life with his parents. But look at him now, he was a proud ninja of the leaf. The green beast of knohagakure no sato as he liked to acknowledge himself. After miles of walking quietly, he got to the administration office and looked up to the images of the previous hokages carved into the huge rock. He went into the building and headed straight for the hokage’s office. He got into the hokage’s office and saw the hokages facing out the window like he was already expecting him. He bowed to the hokage even if the hokage was not facing him as a sign of respect. The hokage turned and welcomed him. He quickly briefed him on his mission of escorting a rich merchant before handing him a scroll containing proper details of the mission. As dray was about to leave the office, the hokage told him in a stern voice that he should be careful. Without looking back, dray left the office with the scroll in his hand. He walked down the path he had came through earlier not noticing the simple civilians he had noticed before but this time, he was more occupied with the thoughts of his mission. Who would he be escorting, he was yet to find out. As he walked through the path he had walked earlier, this time, he was not going home directly. He went into the bush. A quiet place where he could seat, ponder and think of how to evade all possible threats to the merchant the next day.
As the atmosphere grew colder, dray snapped out of his thoughts. He remembered where he was and got up to leave for his home. With the scroll still in his hands, he hopped from tree to tree out of the forest till he got to a road that led to his home. He got home and undressed. Turning in early since he knew that tomorrow was going to be a big day.
The next day….
The sun shone through dray’s windows as he quickly got out of bed and had his bath. in a couple of minutes, he was dressed and had also finished eating his breakfast of cereals and milk. He picked up his fore head protector and tied it firmly on his head. He took a quick look at the mission scroll. He saw the mechant’s name as tanama housuki… the looks of the mission showed that there was not much to fear since the route was well guarded. But as a shinobi, he had to be prepared for all situations. Once again, he crossed checked his ninja pouch and saw that his basic and essential shinobi weapons where intact. He traced his hands down the engravings on his sword’s scabbards. He left home for the destined location. A couple of minutes later, he got to the location and saw the merchant. A Short man,a bit fat, and with a bald head. He wore beautifully bright colored cloths. No wonder he was an easy target.
Dray introduced himself as the shinobi sent to escort him. The man was a bit puzzled trying to say something that would piss dray off but dray gave one of his beasty gaze at the man that made him gulp and keep quiet. The man quickly changed his mode into his true self as they walked. The man was much of a talkative as dray could see. The man’s talk had no end. It went on for like forever as they got closer to the delivery point. Dray was a bit relieved until a large white and hairy wolf came out of the nearby forest. Dray was startled.. wolfs in konoha? Only if it was a summoning. But why did the summoner not come forth himself. Or was this a kind of distraction? The other teams surrounded the merchant.Dray took time to analyze the situation as the wolf kept coming closer. The wolf was large. It was snow white and was also very hairy. It looked like the leader of a pack and the looks on its face showed that it also would not go down easily. But dray was not also going to give up easily. If he was, the hokage would not have assigned him to this mission. There was no time to lose anymore. Dray performed a series of hand seals as identical wolves rose out of the mud from beside him. The opposing wolf might be stronger than his mud wolves but he had an advantage as he created three wolves that could reform after being destroyed. He watched as his wolves started at the opposing white wolf at the same time keeping an eye on his surrounding with the merchant shivering directly behind him. Dray brought out two of his swords and stood on the offensive. He watched patiently as the wolves wrestled each other. This went on for some minutes as his own wolves kept reforming every time they were destroyed. The other large, white and hairy wolf was getting tired. Now was the perfect time to end this. Dray was tired of waiting. He reinforced his blades with chakra. The merchant gazed in surprise as dray’s swords erupted chakra from all sides. Dray called off the mud wolves and started at the large, white wolf. The wolf also ran towards dray. The wolf leapt into the air with the intention of pouncing on dray and tearing him apart since it’s what wolves do. As the wolf leapt unto dray, dray slid below it thrusting his sword into the belly of the animal and slicing right through it. The animal lay there dead but it didn’t dissipate showing that it wasn’t a summoning. Day told the merchant that it was over as he kicked the dead body of the wolf. They all walked to the delivery point and dray handed over the merchant successfully as he went back to skin the wolf and hang its furry skin in his home after which he would bury the corpse of the wolf since it was part of nature.
