“Keep up Masa-Chan.” Chirped Masaaki’s mother, dressed in a purple kimono with pink cherry flowers and her brunette hair tied into a braid with a few strands loose. She looks just like the little boy tailing her feet behind her, a young boy of four years old dressed in a plain white t-shirt and red shorts. Masaaki have his mother’s eyes, but not her hair. No one in his family has white hair.
Masaaki bounced after his mother, playfully avoiding the cracks of the pavement with a giddy smile on his face, happy and cheerful and beautiful naïve to the world around him. It didn’t matter that his father didn’t love him, and it didn’t seem to bother him that he is nowhere at the level his siblings were at his age, or that villagers looked at him with pity. After all, there is plenty to pity about being a deaf child in a highly esteemed clan like the Uchiha Clan.
“Ooka-san!” shouted Masaaki as he catches up with his mother, today they’re going grocery shopping and they need to get something special for Akihiko, the eldest son of their large brood. He just made chunin today, and he’s only eleven years old.
