The uchiha clan has grown since the Uchiha Massacre three centuries ago; its clan ground has expanded out and now yields a clan hall where meetings and official announcements and updates take place, and if necessary. It is a place for an individual or a group of individuals to speak out.
Such is the case of Uchiha Yaeko (Senju was her maiden name), mother of four children and heavily pregnant with a fifth on the way. Her kimono looked rather flattering on her as she struggles up the steps of the stage; it seems the child she carried in her womb would be her most difficult pregnancy to date. She refused the help offered out by the head of the clan, even her own husband was rejected but he expected that. Yaeko is not the type of woman to moan and groan about her own physical problems.
“Masaaki is missing.” She announced to her clansman, her voice wobbled. “He’s four feet tall, he was last seen dressed in a red shirt, black shorts and bare footed with bandages around his ankle. He also wore a Raijin mask and took his rain coat with him.” A large sigh escaped the mouths of a handful of Uchiha Shinobi through the hall; it appears this isn’t the first time. Dako, her husband and the father of Masaaki didn’t look particularly impressed as he rose from his seat. “We talked about this Yaeko.” He muttered his voice stern and gruff. He reached out to take a hold of his wife by her arm but Yaeko yanked it away “He’s eight years old, he’s been missing for three days and there will be a storm hitting! He’s out there on his own with nothing!” the head of the clan watched Yaeko, finding the hysterical display to be embarrassing but he said nothing. “You needn’t worry Yaeko.” Assured the older grey-haired man, many lines of wrinkles decorated his face. And scars as well that told more than what they showed. “The boy will return when he has enough.” But the mother wasn’t convinced “He’s deaf! He can’t hear the storm, and he doesn’t know his way past the forest.” This time the head raised an intuitive eyebrow “Past the forest? To go pass would suggest-“he stopped in mid-sentence when he looked at the parents. “He’s defecting? He’s a boy.”
"And an angry one." cut in Yaeko, correcting the head impulsively. Dako sighed again but managed a small smile “its nonsense sir, my wife is just over contemplating things. The child doesn’t know his way through the forest of death.”
The older man stroked his beard and watched the pregnant woman. “Even so, if the child is truly leaving the village it is our duty to bring him back before ANBU or the Hokage catch wind of it.” Dako scoffed in reply to this baloney “It’s ridiculous, I can assure you Masaaki will be back here in a hour.” But this didn’t seem to calm Yaeko. Volunteers were requested but no one stepped forwards, but still the mother stayed behind in the hall with the clans head even after her husband left, frustrated with the ridiculousness of the situation and the fuss his wife is throwing over such a silly matter.
For hours the mother would linger in the hall even as the angry dark clouds loomed above her, sunlight disappeared and the only illumination in the miserable hall she got was from the lanterns. Patiently, she waited for someone - anyone - to assist her in something she can’t do in her current condition.
