It was a breezy, warm afternoon cloudy but the blue sky could be seen through the clouds. Among the road stood a young Uchiha about the age of 16, his name was Kenji today would be his first C rank mission since graduating from the Academy, he was wearing his usual attire anyone could tell that he was an Uchiha due to the Clan symbol on his back and although he had crimson red hair like his mother's, he had the eyes of a fierce Uchiha just like his father. His mission? pretty simple for a C rank, he had to meet up with a group of metal merchants around the border of the Grass Country and escort them safely to the Leaf Village's main gates.

Kenji had been waiting for a while since he arrived at the spot that they were supposed to meet up, he looked down the road that came from the Grass country and no-one was appearing yet. He sighed I don't like to be kept waiting..what's keeping them? he thought to himself with his arms crossed while leaning against a tree, time could be better spent training he had yet to master Chakra Flow he made a mental note to have a good rant at them for being late when they got here.

He looked up again and could make out not a group as he was told but one man, he looked as though he was running Well It's about time..where are the others? popped in another thought in his head, as the man came closer Kenji could make out that he was probably around his late thirties, though rather short fat and balding. Did he really have to escort this guy? he at least hoped it would be someone a little exciting the way he dressed Kenji could tell that he was going to be an easy target wearing bright colorful clothes like that. When the man came up to him Kenji noticed he wore a lot of jewelry like rings, bracelets and expensive necklaces, he sighed this was a man who only cared about money.

When the man stopped for a quick breather he instantly noticed that Kenji was taller than him as he tried to stand tall, sticking his neck out "So you're the one who's escorting me?." he asked glaring at Kenji.

Kenji wanted nothing more but to explode with a rant about him being late, he swallowed his pride and tried to speak in a friendly tone "Yeah that's me..I'm Kenji Uchiha and judging by your appearance your the guy that I have to escort?."

The man raised an eyebrow "Ahh an Uchiha I see..interesting I hope you will fare better than the past ninja who have escorted me. My name is Tanama Housuki." He did a little dance and posed at his name, Kenji gave him a odd look,

"I'm the type of guy who will never break a promise when it comes to money, after all business is business hmm?." He said cheerfully while giving Kenji a wink the Uchiha wasn't interested in buying anything from this merchant.

"I can see that, listen we don't have much time I need to get you back to the Leaf Village before it goes dark...where are the others? I thought their was more with you?." Kenji asked he may sound impatient but he really didn't want to be around Tanama for a whole day it would be embarrassing for him to be seen waltzing around at night with him.

Tanama's smile faded his face turned serious "T-They couldn't come, your absolutely right we must start walking lead the way, Uchiha." Kenji gave him a suspicious look as he began to walk, something didn't feel right what happened to the other merchants Tanama's expression changed so suddenly when Kenji asked about them, there was a look of uncertainty in his eyes something was wrong.

The unusual duo had walked for about half an hour Kenji looked behind him at the merchant a few times to make sure he kept up, all he did though was mutter to himself. Unknowingly to them a couple of ninja assassins were hiding nearby, it wasn't until Kenji passed a couple of trees did they leap out and attack the merchant.

"What the?-" He swirled around two black robed ninjas were leaping at Tanama with their daggers raised Kenji leaped over Tanama and performed a whirlwind kick at the ninja's who were sent flying into a tree, they both disappeared in a poof of white smoke. Hmm Shadow clones thought Kenji and he was right one of the ninja's had a hold on Tanama while the other ran towards him ready to steal his belongings and get in a few punches. Kenji calmed himself to think of a plan he had to stop the running Ninja first, what a time to not have any kunai but with his Body Flicker technique he vanished and appeared in front of the running ninja, then he delivered a strong kick from the ground to send him upwards swirled around and punched the ninja holding Tanama in the face sending him flying back, the merchant took the opportunity to get into cover.

Kenji focused on the ninja he had sent in the air, he concentrated wind chakra into his palms and then as the ninja fell closer he rapidly thrust both arms releasing strong gusts of wind as strong as a punch, This was his Wind Style Gatling Push. On the final thrust he managed to send the ninja flying into the distance as he put more chakra into the push, leaving one ninja left. The ninja panicked as he threw a dozen star shuriken at Kenji who easily deflected them back with a gust of wind the ninja jumped upwards to avoid them, but Kenji was already one step ahead he performed the hand seals and sent several small fireballs at the opponent. Who was trying to guard them but didn't realize that the fireballs were scattered around him, he landed about to charge at Kenji who reacted by clapping his hands together and all the fireballs closed in on the ninja who now only just noticed them, but was too late as they had already made contact with him and exploded his clothes severed and he would receive severe burns when the fire went out.

The ninja fell to the floor dead Kenji then turned to the merchant who was amazed by his combat skills and mastery over his jutsu, Kenji smiled and beckoned him to follow but this time at a faster pace. It was nearly nightfall by the time they made it to the village, the merchant thanked him and wished him good luck in future missions.

Kenji was pleased with the way the mission turned out sure those ninja were a surprise but that's the life of a Shinobi, it's full of surprises "All in a days work." Kenji said while making his way to the Hokage's room eager to receive his Ryo.
