Dray lay in bed as he commended himself. He was happy with his last mission, taking care of savage coyotes. The animals had been terrorizing the villagers of iwagakure at the town's gates and the villagers were afraid to go out besides, the wild animals had even killed a young innocent boy, according to the villager's report. Out of curiousity and in an attempt to gain a bit of trust from the villagers, dray went to the village gates to check out the situation. He had recently discovered his abilities so he was somehow confident that he could hold his ground against a few things. Dray go to the outsides of the village and these savage beasts attacked him. If he remembered well, the first coyote died with three kunais stucked into his neck, the second one was skewered to death by doton spikes, the third and fourth ones were blasted into the sky with a dozen earth missles with their intestines raining downwards while the last one was captured and brought into the water.
This action of dray did not earn him much praises but it did earn him trust from a few higher authorities of iwagakure no sato. A common stranger like him, they had no option but to commend his skills in killing four wild coyotes and even bringing back one alive. It was marvellous.
Immediately dray handed over the wild coyotes to the authorities in charge, he was directed to a few other places. He also had no choice, he had to comply for their trust was paramount to his stay and safety in the village.
He followed the directions and he was brought to the administration office of iwagakure no sato. A few questions were asked by a lady and in the end, dray was given a mission scroll. The first he had ever received in the land of stone. Dray kindly collected it and exited the building without opening it. He wondered what the scroll would entail. Was he to go to the den of coyotes if they had one? Or he was to capture wild animals? He could not imagine. Not until todays was he recognized in iwagakure no sato but something else told him that he was still under surveillance so he had to behave. He believed the instincts. His instincts were hardly wrong and he had learnt to follow them. Until he reached the abandoned house- his home, the green mission scroll remains sealed.
Upon getting home, dray went straight to his room and carfully placed the mission scroll on the top of his bed side drawer before going down to the basement work shop.
Dray had been reading scrolls and huge books regarding puppetry. The kagutsu art of shinobi hood but there was something else about this abandoned house that baffled dray. The day before, which was the day before he went on the coyote mission, he found a staff in an enclosed locker of the basement workshop. The locker contained a golden staff with numerous rings at the top though dray did not touch the staff. He wondered who was it that lived in this house. He always thought the person who was surely a man, was a puppeteer but this new discovery baffled him. What would a golden staff be doing in the locker of the basement workshop. Dray was curious. He went to the locker and stood looking at it for a while before opening it..
As the locker opened, a piece of paper fell out.. Dray was suprised for it did not fall out the first time he had opened the locker. He bent down to pick up the paper as he then stood upright and followed the paper's contents with his eyes..
"Here I am, in my little basement that I call my true home. Making puppets all day out of the imagination of this little head of mine. Today, I shall write down my plans for the future for what my father once was, I shall make. For my father was a bhuddist, his staff, the shakujo, shall live forver and shall be wielded by a puppet I shall make in my father's form. The puppet shall hold the Shakujo and make this wish for all sentient beings, he gather together a great assembly of enemies, and show the Buddha's true path for I shall control him. With this shakujo shall he destroy anyone who crosses my path.
From a pure heart in the past, my father gave the Three Treasures. Now emanating a pure heart he shall give the Three Treasures. In the future he will purify the heart of humanity and give the Three Treasures.
I pray that all my puppets become one day attain true human life and listen to me as their creator, to the extent that all their carvings shall be closed and they shall have skin.
I vow that they shall be perfect beings and perfect their generosity with great mercy and compassion; perfecting their morality with great mercy and compassion; perfect their patience with great mercy and compassion; perfect their energy with great mercy and compassion; perfect their meditation with great mercy and compassion; perfect their wisdom with great mercy and compassion but even with all these qualities shall they squash their enemies like flies.
For the benefit of all beings, I wish for a change of heart in the harmful beings of the world: the cruel and wicked people; the devils and evil spirits; the fierce animals, poisonous snakes and insects. I wish that all these beings hear the sound of the Shakujo, abandon all harm, emanate the Heart, act with myriad skillful means, and quickly attain enlightenment or I shall command my puppets to instill the fear in them so they might do so..
All Buddhas of the past have abandoned errors and taken hold of the Shakujo. Buddhas of the present and those now becoming Buddhas take hold of the Shakujo. Those who become Buddhas in a life yet to come will take hold of the Shakujo. For this puppet itself shall become a bhudda and carry this shakujo.
My future ambition, this shall be.."
Dray was puzzled as he read the letter. He wondered what the person in the letter was talking about. He understood the person wanted to make a puppet and somehow give life to it and that the puppet would wield a sha..kkujo or whatever it was called.. As dray mentioned the shakujo, he shifted his eyes to the golden staff in the locker and quickly analysed the fact that the father of the person in the letter once wielded the shakujo probably when he was alive so the man in the letter wanted to make a puppet in his father's image that would wield this weapon but where was the man in the letter? Where was the puppet if he had made it? This was a mystery....
