Mission Taken:

Upon turning her last mission in Kaia~Mai found herself being handed another. This one, just like the last, was another D rank mission and yet her task was vastly different than the painting one had been. She looked down at the mission scroll in her hands and took a moment to read it over: a woman named Ninaro needed some help with various things. Kaia~Mai found herself wondering just what those things would be as she headed home and did a quick change of her clothing: she didn’t want to show up splattered in paint after all, it would hardly look appropriate.

A change of clothing later and she was back out the door, heading to where the old lady Ninaro lived: which was at the top of a mountain in the south area of the region – yay, hiking! It took some time to get to the old lady’s house but Kaia~Mai didn’t let herself get discouraged or give up. When she reached the woman’s house she knocked and waited for the door to be answered.

“Can I help you, child?”, asked an elderly woman as the door was opened.

Kaia~Mai smiled brightly at the old woman and nodded. “Actually, I’ve been sent here to help you. I was told there was some things you needed an extra set of hands for?”

“Ah yes. Now where did I put that list…”, the elderly woman said, her voice trailing off as she went back inside. Kaia~Mai remained on the elderly woman’s porch since she hadn’t been invited in. Several minutes later the old woman appeared again with a rather lengthy list in hand. “There are several chores I need help with and then some shopping I need you to do for me. You can do it in whatever order you would like but it all needs done by the end of the day. Can you handle it?”

“I think I can do it.”, Kaia~Mai responded with a nod of her head as she was handed the list. The elderly woman went back inside, leaving Kaia~Mai to her tasks. Outside of the shopping list there were three tasks that needed completed: her dog needed walked, her cat needed fed, and then Ninaro needed help with some household chores. Figuring she wanted to get the physical labor part of this mission out of the way first she went inside and found the cat food next to the bowl. She tipped some in and even freshened up the cats water.

With the cat taken care of she turned to the dog, seeing a leash hanging on a hook near the backdoor. The dog came right over to her and sat rather still while she attached the leash to its collar. She then took the dog out back, allowing the dog to lead the way on where he wanted to go. The pair went on a nearly twenty minute walk before she returned the dog to the house and unhooked the leash. She hanged it back on the hook and then went to find the elderly woman.

“What chores do you need done?”

“Finish up the dishes dearie and wipe down the counters for me, would you?”

“Alright.”, said Kaia~Mai as she turned and went to do just that. There were only a few dishes in the sink and within five minutes she had cleaned them thoroughly. With the dishes taken care of she took a wash cloth and wiped down the counter, cleaned out the now empty sink, and then cleaned off the table: a little more than what she was asked to do.

With the chores completed Kaia~Mai turned her attention to the last part of the list: the shopping. There were several things in which she had to purchase:
- 4 Apples
- 11 Sweet potatoes
- 3 Tomatoes
- 2 packs of instant ramen
- 1 pack of Sunflower seed
- 1 pack of Rose seed
- 3 boxes of Green Tea
- Perfume
- 2 pieces of Granny Underwear

The last item on the list was a bit disturbing but she figured she would get over it pretty quickly: at least she wasn’t a boy doing this shopping, then things would have been really awkward. She headed out of the house after grabbing the arm basket and headed back down the mountain and to the market. The first thing she found was the fruits and vegetables that the woman asked for as well as the packets of ramen. Next she found the box of green tea and added it to the purchased items in the basket. Onto the stall that sold seeds she went, purchasing the sunflower seeds and the rose seeds. From there she moved to a stall where she could purchase the perfume, and finally the granny underwear: ones she hoped would be comfortable enough.

With the shopping completed she returned to Ninaro’s house at the top of the mountain and dropped the shopping off.

“Thank you child, have a good day.”

“Goodbye!”, Kaia~Mai called out before heading back down the mountain for the last time that day, off to turn in on her mission completed and all while thinking she had definitely strengthened her legs with all of the up and down the mountain she had been doing all day long today.
