Description: Shadow Bending Technique is a basic but core move of the Nara family that allows them to manipulate the shape of their shadow, and therefore the source of their shadow techniques. This allows them to bend the shadow into any form imaginable, such as thinning it out to increase it's distance from the Nara. The shadow cannot be removed from the ground or made solid with this, and while it can climb walls and the like, it is stretched out as though it were moving along the ground while climbing walls, therefore shortening the length of space it can travel. The distance a Nara can squeeze out of their shadow varies depending on circumstance and rank. If the shadow is moving through a shadowed environment, such as through forest canopy or at night, the distance they can gain is larger than when in direct sunlight.

Description: Shadow Gathering Technique is a basic technique where the Nara Shinobi manipulates a single strand of shadow from their shadow, which they use to manipulate objects in the environment. Unlike many Nara moves, this requires no hand seals, and simply requires the Nara willing it. Once activated, a thin fibrous strand of shadow can grow and be freely manipulated from their shadow. It has no edge or tip, but can be used to slap with the force of the user; more than enough to knock down incoming projectiles, as well as picking up and re-firing scattered projectiles in the environment. The Nara clan's control over this limb is incredibly accurate, as if it were their own hand, allowing them to operate complex tasks like weaving it through tight spaces. Activation costs 15 chakra, and for every turn afterward that it is active, it costs 5 chakra.

Description: Shadow Sewing Technique is a basic but powerful move that is designed to capture or kill based on the shinobi's preference. Once the Shinobi has positioned their shadow appropriately, they form the Rat and bird Hand Seals, causing ten thin, fast threads of shadow to shoot up towards the intended target. The Nara can aim these shadows to pierce through vulnerable arteries such as the jugular and Femoral Arteries, causing a target to bleed profusely. After two posts, they will feel light headed, after three posts they will feel woozy and dizzy, after 5 posts they will pass out and on the sixth post if they haven't been given medical attention they will die. If seeking to bind someone, the Nara can aim these threads into non-vital areas, and once they pierce the flesh, they will expand, sending out several tendrils inside the user's skin which hook in with barbs, making them near impossible to remove without flaying the surrounding flesh for several inches on all sides of the puncture wound. When the threads are broken [when hit by an equal strength move] the shadows piercing the individual will vanish, therefore the binding can be removed by breaking the connection to the base of the threads. The threads will stay in place even if they lose connection to the Nara's shadow.

Description: The Shadow Style: Shadow Clone, despite its name is more akin to the various elemental clone jutsu. The Nara member will focus his chakra into the thier shadow, causing it to rise up, forming out a single duplicate of the user, though jet black in appearance. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body without losing control. Like other clone techniques, if the clone is injured enough it will revert back to a normal shadow. The clone itself has no chakra pool of its own; it remains connected to the user by a thin strand of shadow. Instead, the user is able to use the shadow clone as relay point, projecting jutsu out from the clone as if it were the real user, thus extending the reach of his/her jutsu. The clone automatically disperses when the user runs out of chakra, or when hit by any attack that can cause a noteworthy level of physical damage [second/third degree burns, broken bones, stab wounds, etc].
The +1 the Nara receives raises the clones defenses, enabling it to withstand more attacks before dispersing [2 C-ranks/4 D-ranks].

Description: Given all the missions ninja are assigned to--battle, intelligence gathering, diversions--this is a priceless ninjutsu. It is typically used to change into people other than oneself, but one also has the ability to change into animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons. This gives this technique an abundance of uses. The transformation of a skilled shinobi will be visually and physically the same as the original, so it will be impossible to tell the two apart. On the other hand, a transformation performed by an inexperienced person will have obvious discrepancies. It will be impossible to deceive anyone with it. This is one of the most basic ninjutsu, as such most shinobi know how to perform it. This jutsu is purely appearance-based, and does not give a ninja the abilities or jutsu of a person they transform into. Dojutsu can easily pick out this technique, and if the user has transformed into someone larger than themselves, the bits beyond their natural body will have no heat signature. This, and the fact that the chakra of the user wouldn't look normal makes it easier for sensing techniques to pick out transformed people. Costs 5 chakra on activation, and an additional 5 chakra every 2 posts.

Description: Using this technique, the user can create up to five intangible clones that appear physically identical to the user. The clone has no physical form, and as such cannot attack. When any object passes through the clone, be it a fist, a rock or a blade, the clone will evaporate. It's mainly used to help mask the user, helping them attack an opponent who is superior at dodging. The clones do not disturb the area around them, don't have shadows or body heat, and as such experienced ninja can easily pick them out. Costs 5 chakra to create clones.

Description: Substitution Technique is an age old skill which enables the user to move at speeds beyond readable perception for a fraction of a moment. Switching with a solid item previously mentioned in the thread in place of themselves, the ninja leaves behind a flickering after-image for a second, which, if damaged releases the chakra which holds it in place in a small smoke cloud, revealing the nature of the technique and the item they have switched with. Though a skilled user's after image for a moment of its flickering lifespan is able to show some of the signs of natural impact as if it were solid, before 'poofing'. The user coming out of the technique creates a similar audio and visual cue with a small cloud of translucent smoke and a 'poofing' sound on appearance. Though as they move at such high speeds it is impossible to co-ordinate a physical attack in any form. Ninja using substitute therefore, while being able to manoeuvre close to an opponent, are unable to set up or follow through with any pre-prepared strike at high speed. (Though it can be used to appear, 'and then' launch an attack, a ninja cannot appear 'in mid strike' as it is impossible to coordinate on such a scale at those speeds.)

Description: A technique taught at the Ninja Academy requiring chakra control. By using Kai, a ninja disrupts their own flow of chakra, then starts it again. This allows a ninja to escape from illusions, provided he or she has figured out that a Genjutsu is active. This is an E-ranked technique, but has variable chakra costs. The user must pay 15 more chakra for every rank the Genjutsu is above their own rank.- Genin: 15 chakra for a D-ranked Genjutsu. Genin cannot dispel B-ranked Genjutsu.

Description: Supernatural walking Practice is a basic ninja technique. Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items that have been stored using fūinjutsu. Scrolls are the most common choice for item storage. When needed, the owner will activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons or have other seals inside of them, which expand the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use.
The jutsu can be used to either store an item in something or to summon it from something. But it can’t be both.

Description: This jutsu generates long, fibrous, malleable chakra strings from each of the user's fingers. The condensed chakra takes a hue of variable colour depending on the user. Use of this technique on puppets is only allowed by those with the Kugutsu specialty. However, people without skill in Puppetry can still generate chakra strings to control weapons in a flail or even yo-yo fashion within a 20m radius.
Use on humans is restricted to only human puppets in your locker (you cannot control living people). All chakra strings are able to be cut using a jutsu with substantial force (blunt attacks, cutting, piercing) of C-rank or higher. However, the user can expend 15 chakra to reattach the strings however they see fit.- Three types of strings:
- Multiple control (-5 chakra per turn):
The chakra strings at this rank are more tailored to controlling the base functions of many puppets as opposed to putting an astounding amount of effort into the control of few. Using this technique depending on the user's rank they are able to control up to 10 puppets, though the trade off is each of them operate at -1 of the user's unaugmented speed and reaction time (meaning jutsu, item and SC buffs/ +1's are not included, but ones from clans are.)

Balanced Control (-5 chakra per turn):
Using more focused control on the puppets the user wields they are able to focus more into their puppets movement, and therefore they no longer receive the negative influence to their speed that the mass control strings had. However, the puppets still receive -1 to reaction time and less puppets are able to operate at this capacity per rank.

B-A rank 4
S-SS rank = 5
Focused control (-5 chakra per turn):
The user, with these strings, is able to literally control their puppets with such mastery as if they were basically human themselves. The concentration at this level requires they dedicate themselves into only one or two puppets, but they operate without any negatives what so ever, and move at the user's unaugmented speed and reaction times.

Description: Temporary Paralysis Technique is a technique that physically restrains an opponent, as if the opponent had been tied in invisible steel ropes. It debilitates the victim for a short period of time by binding their arms to their torso and chaining their legs together, which allows the user to either strike again, or take the target into custody. This jutsu will only work on people who are below your rank [eg if you're a chuunin it won't work on another chuunin, but it will work on a genin] The user of this technique must state the name of the ability out loud, as well as forming a hand seal. The air around the user will be disturbed as the "chains" move into place, giving the victim a chance to dodge the technique. This technique can be overpowered with raw physical strength. An individual with C rank Taijutsu or A rank Kenjutsu can force themselves free, breaking the ability. This process would take a few seconds, during which time their arms and legs will still be restrained.

Description: The basic Gohadoken is a surging punch in which the user's chakra is utilized to focus energy into and through the palms. The user will usually cup thier hands at thier side, focusing the chakra from both hands into a concentrated, visible mass. As the palms are thrust outwards towards the target, a surging energy wave is expelled that results in a punching force traveling through the air in the opponent's direction. This technique can be performed while standing still, running or airborn as well as being able to be fired in any direction.
D: At this ranking, the mass of chakra channeled into the palms is small, roughly the size of a baseball. The chakra is launched at 10 meters per second: at this ranking, the damage caused by this technique is minor: upon impact or reaching the end of its travel range, the ball of chakra explodes outward in a three meter radius, causing first degree tissue damage as well as causing a struck opponent to stagger off balance. The appearance of dark purple bruises at the point of impact are common.
C: At this ranking, the user is able to concentrate more chakra into the technique, causing it to be more powerful than the previous rank. The mass of chakra is now larger, roughly the size of a soccer ball. Upon being launched, the mass of chakra moves faster than before at approximately 20 meters per second; upon impact with a target, the chakra explodes outwards in a five meter raduis. The force of the explosion is enough to knock a persona off thier feet, as well as causing major second degree tissue damage, up to and including internal bruising of unprotected organs and the cracking of bones.
B: The 'perfected' version of the technique. The user has amassed such a concentrated force of of chakra that it is now as large as a beachball. The technique is now more destructive, able to move at the speed of 40 meters per second for a max range of 15 meters. Once the mass of chakra reaches the end of its trajectory or collides with its target, the detonation is massive; a radius of ten meters. Unprotected flesh will be rendered FUBAR-- Heavily bruised and distorted, but the true power of the attack is what happens internally. The Gohadouken will break bones that it comes into contact with unless they are chakra enhanced; Internal organs can and will be damaged severely if the mass comes into contact with soft tissue, like that of the stomach, as well as sending the target flying (A max of 7 meters).

Description: This jutsu is divided into two abilities, an active and passive. Both abilities relate to one another greatly.
Passive: The term Iaidō (居合道) refers to a specific style of kenjutsu that is concerned with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard. The linear motion and force applied to draw the sword from the scabbard results in slashes that are faster and stronger than ones executed with the sword already drawn. Practitioners of this technique are, in theory, exceptionally fast shinobi capable of initiating combat in such a manner with this style that many fights will end before they start. Used defensively, Iai is capable of delivering unexpected blocks which in turns allows for hasty counterattacks.
Active: If the user's speed and reflexes are greater than or equal to that of thier opponent, and the opponent is within 10 meters of the user, the user can interupt the casting of a jutsu that requires handseals or a signifigant casting preperation period (Concentration), immediately putting the attempted technique on cooldown by attacking the hands of the opponent. This effect can only be used once per post, and has a cooldown of three posts.
Note: Any ninja with kenjutsu can use the base prinicple of Iaido without this technique (Drawing strikes and the like) but in order for them to perform the jutsu interuption, they must have this technique trained.

Description: After using the Doppelganger Technique to create clones, the users send one of the clones to attack his target. As the clone attacks the target, they are attempting to fool the target into believing that the clone is the real user. As the target is attempting to counter-attack or dodge the clone, the real user will attack the target from a blindspot. Given that the target is attempting to move and keep what they believe to be their opponent in view, the chances of the real user striking the target is very high.
Certain visual doujutsu render this technique useless, such as the Sharingan and Byakugan, because they are able to discern the real user from the clones instantly. In addition, since this technique relies on another and is a simple manuver, it is able to be used multiple times, so long as the user has a clone to perform the technique with.

Description: The user swings their sword in a single quick and powerful cutting motion to attack an enemy in front of them. The speed and subsequent force with which this kenjutsu technique is performed allows the user to overpower basic bukijutsu strikes that would clash with this technique, either disarming the opponent (if the user's rank and bukijutsu rank exceed theirs) or creating a momentary window where the opposing weapon will be knocked out of position and be unable to be used to defend a follow-up strike.
