It was yet another rainy day in the village hidden in the rain in ame no kuni. Risa was peacefully asleep in her fluffy bed. Then her 'alarm clock' in its shrill yet kind voice began to inform Risa that it was time to wake up. "Risa ojou sama! Get up! It's already past 11, do you plan to sleep all day long?!" Risa's 'alarm clock' was none other than her personal maid, Sachiko. As Sachiko shouted at Risa to wake up, she lightly shook her only shaking off the covers to reveal Risa's naked sleeping body. After that, a grumble came from Risa and she opened her eyes, glaring at Sachiko who'd woken her up from her pleasant sleep. The maid glared right back. "Ahem! Risa ojou sama, you really need to stop sleeping in the buff, it's unbecoming." Risa just continued to glare at the maid but she showed no signs of backing down. Risa then let out an irritated sigh "I'll sleep nude if I choose to, it's not your concern, now bring me a change of clothes so I can go out. With that, the maid left.

Five minutes later....

Sachiko returned with a fresh change of clothes for Risa. Then left her to get changed. She'd brought Risa's usual western clothing and quickly got dressed. Then she brushed her hair and teeth, put on a bit of make up. Once Risa was all finished getting all ready, she looked at visage in the large mirror in her room to make sure nothing was out of place, she confirmed that everything was perfect and headed for the door. At the front door, Risa grabbed her umbrella, out her shoes on and left the estate and headed out to the city. Once in the city, Risa just began wondering around aimlessly without paying much attention to her surroundings and sure enough, she bumped into someone.

Daemon had been on patrol like always. His downtime was borderline never. If he wasn’t training himself or his squad he was running ANBU if he wasn’t running ANBU he was doing his duty as a Seven Swordsman, and if he wasn’t doing anything else he was on patrol. Mentally he was exhausted and drained though his body would never show it. He was used to it by now and he understood why there would be so little breaks. After the war there was still a lot of rebuilding to be done and not enough manpower to do it. There had been too many casualties to count but even with everyone knowing that fact the village moved on and continued at its full speed. He stood on top of a building that overlooked the market district of the city. His sensory jutsu and his eyes scanning for anything that could be seen as dangerous. He would as usual find nothing after having stood in the same spot for the last six hours. He sighed and scratched the back of his head as he dropped down from the building his coat flying up because of the drop.

He was wearing his usual attire that he wore outside of battle. Seeing as he couldn’t just roam around the village in his ANBU attire without setting off alarms he also opted out of wearing his ANBU armor and mask. His attire was a brown pair of jeans and his typical black shinobi tabi’s. He also wore a brown coat around his torso and no t-shirt on underneath. This would expose his muscles but also his scars that had come from years of not only training but living in the wilderness. His hair was a dark brown as well and wavy as it circled around his forehead. At this point in his day he would finish his typical routine and grab something small to eat and heat to his house to rest for about four hours before he had to start the day all over again. Not only was his schedule hell but now he was getting used to it and he honestly didn’t know which was worse. He landed gracefully and without making a sound as he turned in the direction toward his home. He would have to walk through the market to get there but considering he had grown up on the streets of kiri he had no problem with the high traffic of people this time during the day. However this particular day as he walked he ran into someone or perhaps they had run into each other.

“I am sorry. My mistake,” he said apologizing to the young woman.

When Risa looked up to see who it was she bumped into, she immediately blushed. She had bumped into an incredibly good looking guy. He had beautiful eyes that matched his hair, and his exposed muscular chest was covered in what appeared to be training scars, she could tell right away that he was a shinobi like her but he was obviously in a whole other league than Risa. She just stood there blushing. Risa had a really bad habit of falling in love at first sight with any extremely good looking guy she happened to meet and she was trying to break that habit. She soon snapped back to reality, looked up to him and spoke"It's alright, I was spacing out and wasn't paying attention to where I was going, so it was my fault." After she said that,Risa flashed her usual cute and seductive smile at him out of reflex, Risa was also known to be a huge flirt. She then had a great idea. So she spoke up once more. "Well, as an apology for bumping into you, why don't you come get a bite to eat with me?" she said as she winked and smiled cutely at him. She was trying to be subtle with her flirting and hoped he wouldn't catch on. Risa was quite confident that he'd jump at the chance to eat with someone as beautiful as her. She thought this as she patiently awaited his reply to her invitation.

Dameon had been caught off guard not only had someone run into him but she was also cute. There was no question to it, she was a beautiful woman and the fact that she had red hair made her even more attractive to him. He however was tired and busy and found little interest in the beautiful woman that had started flirting with him. He didn’t really know what to say or do; after all it wasn’t too long ago that his last relationship had ended. He had loved her but she had left him after the war thinking he had died and not even bothering to find out if he had or not. It bothered him and it made him feel like he couldn’t put any trust into anyone. It was because of this line of thought that made his life mostly miserable and lonely. He had been alone nearly all his life and the moment he had let down his guard for someone else she hurt him. He looked at her and had backed off just enough to give them an arm’s length of room between them

“I appreciate the offer but you have nothing to apologize for, it happens,” he said with a halfhearted smile. In all honesty he had very little to smile about these days and knowing he would only get four hours of sleep made him want to do even less. He had never been a very social person, why start now?

Risa was slightly offended when he distanced himself from her and rejected her offer. She began to pout. However, Risa wasn't about to give up without making an effort. When she was about to try and persuade him to accompany her she noticed he looked rather sad. It seemed he'd remembered something painful from his past. She let out a small sigh. She couldn't very well continue flirting with him when she knew he was sad like that. "Hey, you're thinking about your past right? There's something painful that happened to you, right?"She no longer cared about going out with him, Risa just wanted to help him and make him smile. She looked at him with a determined look in her eyes which suddenly changed to a warm smile. "I'm not going to ask you what is causing that sad look in your eyes but I would really like to have a meal with you if you'll let me. I just don't like seeing others in pain is all. My name's Risa, Risa Igarashi by the way. " She extended her hand out to him with the warm smile still there on her face.

“Not the past. I am by nature miserable and burdened with more responsibilities,” he said as he looked away from her for a moment and eye balled the fruit stand looking over the apples he often chowed on for dinner before heading to bed. His routine was frustrating but necessary all the same. He looked back at her and gave a soft sigh trying to understand her and trying to get into her head. He often analyzed people no matter who they were to get a better understanding of what made people tick. He continued to look at her and scanned her body up and down. She was indeed beautiful but after he had replied to her the first time she had stopped the flirting. He was curious as to why; had he shown a sign of weakness? He had a puzzled look on his face and he scratched the back of his neck and his hand rolled over his scar given to him from his clan. He grabbed an apple from the fruit stand and handed the owner some ryo to pay for it. He took a quick bite into the apple and let the juice roll into his mouth as he swallowed the chunk and wiped his mouth with the long sleeve of his jacket.

“Why were you flirting with me? I am nothing much. What do you hope to get out of it,” he asked kind of bluntly. It wasn’t that he wasn’t flattered but he had little trust for any people and furthermore he had a habit of questioning their motives.

Risa had been half right, he was thinking of something that caused him to have a sad look like that. She had a talent for sensing those kinds of things and it came in handy a lot. He had averted his gaze for a moment then bought an apple from a nearby vendor. Upon returning he asked her, “Why were you flirting with me? I am nothing much. What do you hope to get out of it,” His question caught Risa off guard, she was not expecting him to ask her something like that. After all, most of the time when she flirted with men, they either brushed her off or jumped at her in invitation to go out but he was completely different from all the other men. She could tell just by looking at him, that he was clearly not able to easily trust people for one reason or another but whatever it was, she just was hoping she could relieve some of that burden for him. Risa might have be a flirt but she's also a very caring girl. She can't just leave someone who is in pain like this alone. While she was thinking this, she remembered that he'd asked her why she flirted with him and immediately snapped back to reality. She could feel her cheeks become hot from embarrassment. She knew she had to give him an honest answer seeing as it seemed he already distrusted her and Risa didn't want to make things worse for herself. She cleared her throat and spoke up. "Well, the truth is...when I first bumped into you, I thought you were really handsome and my bad habit of flirting kinda took over..." she guiltily pushed her index fingers together as she explained herself to him. "however, it's different now! I just want to make you smile, you seem lie you've been to hell and back and I hate seeing people in pain. Also, you're the first person to question why I flirted with you...no one's ever done that before. I don't care, I only want to make you smile, so please, will you come with me?" These were her true feelings. If he turned her down now, Risa wouldn't know what to do, she just looked at the man standing before her hopefully.

Dameon thought about her words and took another bite of his apple before tossing it into the store owner’s trash. He swallowed the chunk of apple and scratched the back of his head. There were a lot of things going through his head. She hadn’t answered all of his questions which made him slightly more curious had she simply stated her actual motives he would have considered them. He didn’t deserve happiness though it as why he never smiled. He couldn’t possibly believe he could ever feel such things again and it was because of this he felt like this was a charity case. He didn’t want to be pitied he just wanted to be left alone in his misery and be allowed to cope with the sacrifices he had made for the village. He looked back into her eyes before his own eyes trailed down and to the left keeping his gaze away from hers.

“I don’t deserve happiness. The village is still alive and well because I have suffered so much. The lives of many outweigh one. I am sorry,” he said as he walked slowly past her to her right. He didn’t really have any social skills and found talking deeply to people to be troublesome. He had been an instrument of the Mizukage ever since the village had adopted him. As such he never had time to make friends and the one good thing in his life had ended with the war. He turned into the adjacent alleyway that most people ignored because of its appearance, the same alleyway he had spent most of his life growing up in. He wasn’t sure what to feel anymore.

Risa just stood there dumbfounded as he gave her his answer. She didn't know what to say to him. Risa felt her chest grow tight as she watched him and as she was about to say something, he had turned around and began to walk off into a nearby alleyway. Risa wasn't going to give up that easily. She knew she just wanted to bring happiness to the man, she didn't understand why herself all she knew was that she wanted to have him know a little happiness. With her mind made up, Risa began to chase after him. When he turned the corner she lost sight of him. However, that wasn't about to deter her determination to help him out of his sadness. She continued to search all ove for him. She eventually put away her umbrella and began to run at full speed in the pouring rain. She finally caught up to him. She was soaking wet from the rain but that didn't really matter to Risa., she failed to notice her bra was completely visible due to the rain which had drenched her clothing. She stood right in front of him and before he could speak, she hit him right across the face fairly hard. Risa had always packed quite a punch and this time was no different. She was seriously upset now, here she was trying to help him and he was acting in a self destructive manner. What had he done to deserve this? She was getting really pissed about it now. Then a short few minutes after she'd hit him, she spoke up. "you're a real idiot, you know that right? Here I am worried about you and you just walk away from me. I admit that at first I was only flirting with you because I was instantly attracted to you but seriously! Is this how you always act when people show genuine concern for you? You don't have to take all the world's problems on by yourself, let others help you!" once she said what she wanted to say, Risa just stood there.

Dameon was stopped in his tracks as the woman had followed him and caught up to him although he hadn’t really walked all that far away. She was persistent which only made him more curious. He knew he wasn’t worth all the effort despite being one of the top ranked shinobi in the village. He was an expendable asset still and he hadn’t been proven otherwise. He wondered if she was just not that great at handling his hard to get personality or if it was him rejecting her. He didn’t know what genuine concern was, not anymore. He figured everyone had an ulterior motive behind their actions and half the battle was figuring out what that was. Something may have been different about her but he was having a hard time accepting that reality. Her hand hit his face and his face and expression didn’t change almost like she had been hitting stone. Such things he was already used to and his fear non-existent. He couldn’t help but look to her chest though as her bra became visible because of the rain pouring onto her white clothes. He sighed and removed his own jacket to reveal the rest of his incredibly tone torso. He wrapped his jacket around her to help cover herself and keep her warm.

“In a world of liars and traitors how does one decipher genuine generosity from ulterior ideals? I don’t mean to be rude or disrespectful. You are beautiful but I am not worth the trouble,” he said with a slight tilt down of his head.

Risa couldn't believe this man. Here she was genuinely concerned about him and the deep misery that he seemed to be enduring and he was saying he wasn't worth her trouble?! Risa just couldn't understand why he was acting this way. Thinking about it caused her chest to tighten. However, he had taken off his coat and draped it over her shoulders then sat down. That really confused her until she looked down to see her clothes were soaked and he bra was clearly visible. This made Risa turn bright red in the face. She couldn't believe she hadn't noticed it sooner. As she snapped back to reality she just looked at him and clenched her fist. She really didn't understand him at all. What could she possibly do to show him she really cared about him and was truly concerned? She did the only thing she could think of. She once more struck him in the face ten grabbed it in her hands "idiot! Don't take my actions lightly"after having said that she piled her face into his and kissed him on the lips. After their lips had parted once more, she just looked at him with a pained and sad expression on her face. "I don't know what you've been through but... One thing I do know is that not everyone in this world isn't a liar and a traitor. I truly have concern for you, can't you see that? I want you to smile, I don't want to see you miserable, no one deserves to be miserable in this world, no one!" Risa had said all she could to him, if he still didn't get it then there was nothing else she could do to get through to him and that would be the end of it.

He listened to her words again and he looked down at the ground unsure of what else to say. Before he knew it he was struck again and this time she followed it up with a kiss. He was caught off guard but the feeling of her lips against him reminded him of the past ever so slightly. He remembered the last woman he had loved. He had been tortured for her during the war. He had nearly died and the thought of not losing her had kept him alive. Yet all of it was in vain as he left him in the hospital not even bothering to find out whether he was dead or alive. The other friends he had made during the war had also vanished. He felt like the only person he could talk too was Strafe and even he hadn’t been around lately. He was usually too busy with running ANBU and being a Seven Swordsman that he never had time to heal from the war emotionally. He felt like he just wasn’t good enough to anyone even his sensei who was from another village because nobody within the village had wanted to train him. He sighed and looked back up at her; she was still blushing from him being able to see her underwear fairly easily.

“How can you concern yourself with a stranger like me, am I just a charity case?” he said to her with a little bit of doubt in his eyes. He wanted to be open and have another friend but he didn’t know if he could risk being emotionally scarred again like what had happened last time.

“I am sorry. It’s just…I’m tired I only get a few hours of sleep a night because of the reconstruction of the city. I haven’t had any real time to myself lately. I want to believe the world isn’t filled with betrayal but every time I have hope it gets taken away. I don’t have much of a life outside of protecting the village. Sometimes I wish I did but I am reminded of my past and how much letting yourself open up to others can turn around and stab you in the back. You are beautiful and I know you want to help me but I am afraid I am beyond saving. Where one would even start is beyond me,” he said scratching the back of his head hoping that the words he had spoken this time made a bit more sense to her. He wasn’t trying to dismiss her he just felt like he wasn’t worth the effort to repair.

Risa was just appalled when he actually asked if he was just a charity case. Of course he wasn't a charity case, Risa didn't understand herself why she cared so much for a mere stranger, all she knew is that she just couldn't leave him be. Another thing she didn't understand why she kissed him. She just stood there staring off into space with her face all red while tracing her lips. However, she quickly snapped back to reality. Risa then cleared her throat and spoke up. "Charity case? Gimme a break! As if I'd go through all this trouble for a complete stranger if I just pitied them. I don't understand myself why I care so much about your sadness and misery, all I know is that I just can't leave a person alone who's suffering. I understand that you've been through much pain but..." she paused grabbed his face once more the know spoke again "... I won't be one of those people, I swear it! So please, can't you let me into your heart? It then dawned on Risa she had been so busy with trying to help him she never even asked for his name. Risa felt like a complete air head, realizing this. "Oh, I'm soooo sorry, I gave you my name but I never got yours, can you please tell me that much?" she said that with sincerity in her voice.

“It’s Dameon. Dameon Shikyo,” he said knowing with absolute certainty that she would recognize his name. After the war had ended he had become extremely popular. He was known as the genint hat had ranked all the way up to jounin and became not only the ANBU captain but also a member of the famous Seven Swordsman. It was even speculated he would become the next sannin since the passing of Kaguza in the war. It was because of all these titles and how he had been dubbed a war hero in Kiri that he had become a celebrity. Before the war though nobody even had cared that he existed. He was forced to live on the streets having no home to sleep in at night since he was seven. It was because of his rough and poor upbringing that he was so unused to all the attention he got on a daily basis.

“Dinner you said? Your persistence has paid off, if the offer is still on the table,” he said with a sort of warm smile. He wasn’t sure why he was doing this but he felt he at least needed to reward her for her persistence. Besides there was a possibility he could make another friend but even he was still skeptical of it all.

Risa knew exactly who he was when he finally introduced himself to her. She couldn't believe she had hit such a huge celebrity in the face, twice! Not to mention she kissed him on top of that too. Risa could feel her cheeks grow hot from embarrassment. He then asked if her offer was to go eat was still on the table and that brought Risa right back to reality as her face lit up with joy, she felt as if he was actually letting her in but at the same time, seemed to still be a bit wary of trusting her but Risa didn't care, she was just happy he wanted to eat with her. Maybe she could become his friend, little by little. She cheerfully replied "of course it is! It's my treat~! I know a great joint not to far from here that makes the best food in the kirigakure and the mizu no kuni." she said with a cute wink but it was not meant to be taken as her flirting, however, whether he saw it that way or not was up to him. They began walking side by side down the street. They didn't talk very much but that was to be expected seeing as Risa was already aware that he didn't fully trust her yet. They had arrived at the place fairly soon. Risa entered first and greeted the elderly man behind the counter. "hey here sir! It able for two please~!" As soon as Risa said that, the man nodded and seated the two if them down at a table for two. Risa then looked to dameon. "order anything you want , it's on me~!Risa was now in a great mood, of course she had planned to pay all along. She didn't think anyone could ruin her good mood now.

Dameon followed her at the side not really wanting to say anything because he wasn’t entirely sure of what to talk about in the first place. He kept pace with her knowing of the place they would be heading too, after all she had mentioned ramen and there was only one place to get ramen in the whole village. It seemed like she was trying to start a conversation with him but the only thing he would respond with were just verbal handshakes letting her know he was at least listening though not actually adding to the conversation. As they entered the restaurant the owner and multiple other people looked toward them and considering he was shirtless he got a lot of quizzical looks until they saw that the person he was with had his well-known coat on.

“I doubt we will actually have to pay. Seven Swordsman eat anywhere in the village for free. Them and their guests,” he stated as he sat down across from her at the table. He always liked to sit down facing the entrance so that way he could see any potential dangers that were on the street or entering the building. He sat there still feeling a bit exhausted mentally from all the work he had been doing lately but he kept his attention on her letting her continue talking.

Risa had thought about Dameon's words. When she noticed that every employee as well as most of the customers were staring at the two of them. It must have been due to the fact that Risa just so happened to be eating with a famous kirigakure celebrity. She felt icy daggers on her but she chose to ignore them, it wasn't her fault they were just jealous. Fairly soon, a waiter came by to take their order, he first took Dameon's order then turned to Risa to take her's as well. Once he laid eyes on Risa he seemed to become infatuated with her. He kept messing up with his speech and kept screwing up her order. This began irritating Risa quite a bit. She couldn't understand what was wrong with the guy but whatever it was, she wanted him to get his act together and properly take her order, it was another whole ten minutes before the owner came over to their table personally. He apologized for his employee's blunder and had a waitress come take Risa's order instead. She quickly took her order and left to the kitchen. Once they'd all left, once again it was just the two of them at the table. Risa just stared at Dameon. His exposed chest was quite muscular but had many scars but after all, he WAS one of the seven swordsmen, so it was no surprise he had a few scars. His warm jacket, was covering her wet clothing hiding the fact that her bra could be seen through her clothes. The warmth of the jacket, filled Risa's body with warmth as well. She could tell just from the warmth she felt that he was a kind person but it was quite clear he'd suffered quite a lot as well. Risa still didn't understand why, but she wanted to save him somehow but didn't know exactly how to. The silence between them grew quite awkward until, Risa's ears picked up on a conversation at the table a little ways down from theirs.
