- History:
- The Senju clan descended from the younger of the two sons of the Sage of the Six Paths who was born with the "body" of the Sage, inheriting his father's strength of will and physical energy and believed that love was the key to bringing peace to the world. The Sage grew to favour the ideals of his younger son over those of his older son, who believed that power alone was the true key to finding peace. Therefore, on his deathbed it was the younger of the two brothers that the Sage chose to name as his successor. The elder brother, bitter and hateful at having being denied what he felt was rightfully his to inherit, attacked his younger sibling. The Uchiha clan would descend from the elder brother, resulting in the bitter centuries-long rivalry between the Senju and the UchihaThe Senju clan gained their fame in the era before the founding of the hidden villages. Where other clans focused on mastering one particular skill, the Senju were masters in all skills, from ninjutsu, to taijutsu, to genjutsu. Because of this, they were feared as "the clan with a thousand skills" (「千の手を持つ一族」, "sen no te o motsu ichizoku"), which gave them their name Senju (千手, "a thousand skills", "a thousand hands").
The most famous member of the clan was their leader, Hashirama Senju. His unique Wood Release ninjutsu even gave the clan the nickname the Senju clan of the forest (森の千手一族, Mori no Senju Ichizoku). This Wood Release, and his ability to control the tailed beasts, made him the greatest shinobi of his time.The Senju's place at the top of the shinobi world was undisputed, but there was one clan that was able to stand up to them: the Uchiha clan. Whenever one country hired the Senju, their enemies would hire the Uchiha, and vice versa. This led to a rivalry between the two clans and, more specifically, between the leaders of the clans, Hashirama and Madara Uchiha. However, in a world of constant bloodshed, Hashirama had a dream of peace, and a great love for his fellow men. Known as the "Will of Fire" (火の意志, "Hi no Ishi"), this belief made the Senju clan propose a truce to the Uchiha clan. Weary of fighting, and persuaded by Hashirama's great charisma and negotiation skill, the Uchiha accepted, ending their bloody rivalry. Only Madara was against this truce, believing the Senju would one day destroy the Uchiha clan. He was forced to accept, but his humiliation wouldn't end there.
Some time after the alliance between the Senju and the Uchiha was signed, the Land of Fire hired them to stabilise its borders, and the clans created a permanent settlement within the country. Thus, Konohagakure was founded, and, with it, the system of one Hidden Village per country. As the system spread throughout the world, the constant violence stopped, and Hashirama's dream began to become a reality. But it would soon start again after Hashirama was elected as the First Hokage; a move Madara felt was a humiliation and made him decide to leave the new village, eventually returning to attack it.Throughout the years, the Senju retained their supremacy over Konoha, and made the village into what it is today. After the First Hokage's death, his younger brother, Tobirama Senju, stepped up to become the Second Hokage. Although likely not a Senju by blood, Hiruzen Sarutobi, who would become the Third Hokage after the Second's death, was trained by both the First and Second. His successor, Minato Namikaze, was the student of Jiraiya, who was a student of the Third. Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, was not only a student of the Third, but also the granddaughter of the First and the grandniece of the Second. All of them strongly held to the Will of Fire philosophy. It is unknown if the Senju clan still exists as an independent clan since there are no known persons with the Senju name alive — with the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade, being the only possible exception to date. It is very possible that the Senju clan disbanded into smaller clans and families, especially since they never had specific traits or techniques like the Uchiha or Hyūga clans with which to easily identify them. Their legacy however, lives on strongly in the hearts of the people of Konoha. A small group of people surfaced containing abilities eerily similar to those of Hashirama Senju. This clan was discovered by a group of rouges who realized the worth of these people, so the rouges slaughtered the group saving only the women and children. Then sold the people into slavery, just for being the supposed descendants of Hashirama Senju. Several villages bought or freed these people leaving them scattered all over the ninja world. They are often used a mercenaries or trump cards in dangerous situations.
Kekkei Genkai Description: Wood Release (Mokuton) is an advanced-nature kekkei genkai. By using earth as a base, water to facilitate growth, and chakra as the source of life, Mokuton users can create wood, trees, and, in spite of the semi-symbolic name, other plant life such as flowers, vines, or seeds. Wood Release techniques can be produced from anywhere, including the user's body, as the user's chakra is literally converted into a source of life. Wood Release techniques are commonly affiliated with the Snake seal. Senju are able to use Wood Release at any rank if they have both the Earth and Water chakra natures. Mokuton ranks up with the lowest constituent element; thus, if someone has S-rank Suiton and C-rank Doton, they may use C-rank Mokuton, meaning that it can be used to SS if both Earth and Water are at SS rank.
Drawbacks: Due to their many battles with the Uchiha, the Senju have developed a weakness to Genjutsu. Genjutsu used against a clan member gains +1 in effectiveness. Mokuton jutsu are made of plant cells, which are susceptible to burns; Katon gets a 1-rank advantage against Mokuton, other weaknesses being stated in the jutsu itself. The Senju clan members also tend to dedicate themselves to their specialties to the point of avoiding diversity. Senju clan members cannot learn a fourth element [their Mokuton is their third]. They must take the Hesitant (Specialization) SC, and cannot take Hesitant (Element) SC.

Name: 木遁・四柱牢の術 {Mokuton: Shichūrō no Jutsu ~ Wood Release: Four-Pillar Prison Technique}
Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Element: 木遁 {Wood Release}
Range: 6m radius
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown: 6 posts
Description: The user converts chakra into timber under the ground and makes it grow rapidly, while forming it into a wooden prison. The user can only create the prison to the size equal to that of a holding cell. The timber itself is treated with a chakra coating, making its destruction difficult to c-rank jutsus or weapons or below. A maximum of two c-rank or 1 B-rank is required to break the prison (including techniques from the outside), or basic strikes of anyone with Strength stat two ranks higher than the technique. Fire jutsus also damage the wood further reducing the amount of jutsus by half the amount it would usually take for each level; 1 c-rank. During war, it has the great ability to detain prisoners, but it can also be used as a disciplinary measure for quarrelling subordinates.

Name: 木遁・挿し木の術 {Mokuton: Sashiki no Jutsu ~ Wood Release: Sprigs Cutting Technique}
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: B
Type: Offensive.
Element: 木遁 {Wood Release}
Range: Max of 5 meter radius || Launch up to 5 m.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: Up to 7 posts, -5 per post.
Cooldown: Up to 11 posts.
Description: A highly versatile technique where the user converts part of their body to rather sharp branches. The user can start with 2 main branches in replacement of two limbs (ie. each arm), stretching up to 1.5 meters long. These can then be made to grow at astounding speeds and with such force that they can pierce a person's body with 2 inch cuts with the possibility of hitting a vital area which can be lethal if not treated with haste; most often, opponents can start to bleed out. Used predominantly in close-ranged combat, these branches can also be made to exponentially multiply, even when inside a victim. Multiplication of branches within a victim cause a maximum of 1/4-inch cuts. Due to these properties, the technique can be used to fashion short-range weapons akin to a makeshift sword; the user can also trigger rapid growth to launch these at targets, travelling at 20 m/s. This jutsu costs 5 chakra for every branch formed after the two main branches, in addition to the upkeep cost - each additional branch cannot exceed the size of the two main branches. Any wood used in this jutsu, including the user's body part, is weak against C-rank Katon and above, and will promptly burn if hit by it.

Range: Up to 50 metres away from the user
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: Maintainable (-10 chakra per post)
Cooldown: 6 posts
Description: A clone that is created by using chakra to alter the user's own cells into vegetation.
