Gosh Saiyuki was late as always Akio thought standing by the edge of Iwa's walls. She leaned back on the dry crack surface hoping to feel some type of coolness from it and escape the dry heat.  The girl could literally taste the dirt that lingered in the air around this area.  Standing on the sandy surface that surrounded the wall was starting to hurt her feet and it was irritating her.  Ahh she yelled hitting the wall behind her. Sometimes the heat could make her snap. It made her sweat and the dirty air was clinging to her skin now. In fact she rather be at the hospital with her dad then here right now. The only reason she took this job was so she could get some extra cash to help pay for her father's pilling bills earned from his heart surgery. 

All she wanted was for Saiyuki to make things on time once in her life. When that girl got here Akio was going to chew her out. Her temper wasn't the best sometimes but recently it seemed to just get worst. So you could imagine how happy she was to see her friend running up to her equipped and ready to go. Finally Yuki-chan it took you long enough to get here she said scolding the girl. The gate keeper than opened up the entrance allowing them to exit the protected city of Iwagakure.  Well I hope you're ready Yuki-chan this will be our first B-rank mission together. These types of missions are on a whole other level so lets take it seriously. This means we're top notch ninjas now. 
Their mission was  simple really kill a dangerous pack of coyotes before they caused anymore trouble. The pack had already kill one small child so they were supposed to be on high alert.  Wiping sweat from her forehead and  she focused on her task.
I'll activate my Shinsai so that we can track them down okay just follow me and we'll find them in no time.

Saiyuki could't sleep one bit. Her eyelids didn't even roll down for a second. Her mind was focused on her next mission that would start today. Was she ready for a B ranked mission? Would she be beaten by a pack of coyotes? Would she die in the proces of the mission? She shook her head no. "I can not lose to a stupid pack of animals! I will do my best and i will accomplish this first B ranked mission! After all i have Akio to help me with it!" A smile played on Saiyuki her lips. She wanted to do a B ranked nission for a long time now but was scared she would lose if shedid it alone. That is why she invited Akio with her. Her eyes closed finally. Giving herself hope did actually work to calm her own down. 


Saiyuki her eyes fluttered open and she rolled to the side facing her digital clock. The numbers made it clear that it was already 12:30. "Shit! Shit! Shit! Already 30 past 12! Gotta hurry! Damn it! I'll never be on time to meet up with Akio! Stop complaining you dimwit! You can at least try to hurry!" Saiyuki jumped out of her bed and ran in her bathroom, taking a quick wash. Her hair, she didn't do anything about that. In a fast pace she rushed to her closet and picked her short sleeved shirt with green sleeves and a white torso. The pants she weared was long and a 'let it hang loose' pants. While running downstairs she brushed her teeth and almost fell over her own feet. Sai grabbed an apple and shove her feet into her sneakers. Finally she was ready and it only took her a half hour! 


Today was a very beautiful day. It wasn't to hot or to cold. The light breeze gave a relaxing atmosphere in the air. There were a few clouds in the sky. Perfect for a mission! A few birds flew next to her while she was sprinting over the buildings toward her friend who was probably pissed since Saiyuki was a hour too late. She could see Akio waiting while leaning against the wall. 


Akio greeted her and said they should takecthis mission seriously, like Sai didn't think of that either. Akio activated her Shinsai to find the pack of coyotes and quick. Saiyuki just followed her footsteps.

Following the movements in the familiar earth it wasn't long till she sensed the pack nearby just a few feet ahead of them. They were most likely searching the open land for some type of food. Now all the duo needed to do was surprise them before while they were distracted which seemed easy enough till the sound of growling filled the air. Quickly turning around Akio and Saiyuki were face to face with a rabid group of 3 really pissed off coyotes. This couldn't be happening she had sensed the two coyotes farther up ahead so what were these ones doing here? They growled getting closer to the two girls  snapping their jaws and nipping at their heals. It was obvious they were trying to keep their prey together so that they could attack still they were only animals not a serious threat. But she couldn't ignore how great their teamwork was. 
 
When ever Akio or Sai tried to attack they just dodged it proving that using simple jutsus on this pack wouldn't work. Which meant this gave Akio the prefect opportunity to use a new jutsu she had learned. Taking a deep breath she called out body of doton. Every piece of rock form the size of a boulder to the size of a pebble covered her making her body appear as if she was made of earth herself. Whenever they attacked she hit back knocking and crushing the mangy dogs. However they were tough and even with bruised and limped bodies they came at her. Yet with Saiyuki by her side both of the girls were able to hold off the pack. Eventually they killed two now all they needed to do  was to handle the other 3. Hopefully it would be easier than it was with these last ones. But then again she doubted it.

It seemed there were a few coyotes enjoying their snack. Until they took notice of the two females, Akio and Saiyuki. They had been spotted by three of the coyotes, who were now circling around the two like they were ready to attack any moment. The beasts were snapping their jaws at the feet of the pair of kunochi. The animals had done this same thing over and over again so they knew how and when they had to react. It almost looked like they were connected with thoughts. Akio was the first to react with her new jutsu. She made the handseals at a quicker pace than normal. She really did become better and stronger while training for Chuunin. Saiyuki grinned not wanting to be out run by the younger girl. The Kobayashi shot in action, grabbing her katana by the hilt and pulling it out slowly, letting the sun shine on the metal. The light reflected in the blood thirsty beast its eyes making it blind for a few second, leaving an opening for Sai to finally show off her new weapon. Saiyuki ran closer to the blinded animal. The heart of the girl skipped a beat when she saw the poor thing struggle with the light. She couldn't just kill the coyote, it was against her ninja way. She promised herself not to kill any living thing. Damn it... She thought while closing the space between the two.

Sai almost reached the animal when suddenly Akio her technique crushed the creature. Some blood filled the cracks of Saiyuki her skin. Her eyes wide open, the sight of the coyote crushed reminded her what she was afraid of, death things. One down... Her eyes were still fixed on the carcass of the beast. She shook her head to get the image out of her head and turned back towards Akio. The two stood back to back, so if any were to attack, they had no opening.

Saiyuki stick her katana away, now focusing on just paralyzing the coyote and letting Akio finish it off. The coyote that stood in front of her had a beautiful fur, that was shining in the sun its light. The eyes ofcthe killer had no mercy and were only thinking of the two girls as another snack. Saiyuki made the handseals needed for Raiton: Jibashi, one of her new jutsus. The girls hand began to get surrounded by lightning. Her feet brought her close to her enemy and the dog opened his jaw just as Sai was about to touch his forehead to stun him. The coyote pushed his jaws on each other while crushing the hand on the Kobayashi. Luckily for Sai, the lightning had already touched the dog like creature its flesh and paralyzed him. "Akio, would you mind giving him the last blow?" the girl said while returning her back against Akio's.

"Now where did the others go?" Saiyuki asked her companion. The third one of the three that attacked them ran off going to find the rest of his pack. "Akio-chan! Let's follow him!" the Kobayashi member shouted while pointed her finger at the coyote who was now running back with his tail between his legs. Saiyuki already began to run in its direction.

As the two followed the scared coyote to the other two, who looked like the Alpha and the Beta males. The Alpha had huge teeth that wereshowing as the girls closed the space between them and their enemy. Those coyotes from earlier were apperantly just normal ones. These beasts were the big deal amd probably the reason why the mission was given. The different hued eyed girl was still shocked from the crushed carcass of the coyote. Her heart couldn't bare to see a dead thing. The picture of the dead animal was now forever imprinted in her mind. As the two coyotes werevprotecting their only child, they began to circle around Akio and Saiyuki. The two girls stood again back to back trying to fight their opponent. Saiyuki her opponent was apparantly the Alpha one since he was the first to protect the kid coyote. The yellow eyes of the beast were locked on Saiyuki her lenses, as she couldn't look away either. 

Every move and trick the two humans tried they would dodge with ease. The two male animals were at a whole different level as the ones before. The sun was shining upon the fight. A sweatdrop rolled down Saiyuki her forehead as she began to launch multiple attacks at the Alpha male. These beast were damn hard to beat. Sai took a quick look at Akio to see how she was doing. It wasn't much better but when the dark brown coyote tried to attack, Akio used another technique. This time a wind technique. The beast was blown away and fell right onto the other. Now Sai had an opening. She would quickly pull out her sword to cut ones legs, not killing them. "I am sorry to make you suffer, but i do not kill." She spoke to the Alpha male, as if it could understand her. The coyote snapped his jaws close to Saiyuki her face, but he was still not able to stand up nor crawls closer. The muscles in his legs were cut into two, it would only hurt more if he tried to stand up. Sai wasn't effected by the biting of the coyote. The look in the girl her eyes were pain and sorrow. She only felt bad for what she had done to a creature of mother nature.  Sai even shed a tear for the now suffering Alpha coyote. His eyes were hard to look at for the girl. The pain is the yellow hued eyes just made her feel guilty of what she had done. With a fast slash, she had cut the throat, so it could die. 


Saiyuki closed her eyes praying and asking if she could be forgiven. The religious girl stood back up to now kill of the last coyote standing. "Akio, you ready to finosh this mission?" she said even if she already knew the answer of her companion. Saiyuki quickly cut over the beast neck to finish it off.

As celebration they finished the mission with candy. Akio also apologized for being mad at her friend. Honestly, Saiyuki wasn't bothered by it. Is it normal to be mad at times. "Say, Akio, you have improved as a shinobi!" Sai grinned when she gave a comliment to her buddy, Akio.

As they went back to town to report, they also delivered the fur. The girls were taking how they handled those beast, still Saiyuki was not feeling well after she killed a living being, but she did it out of safety for her village, Akio and her own. She would break her own ninja way to protct things, maybe that was her real ninja way? Protecting what needs to be protected. Yeah, that was her new motto after this encounter with the beasts. The two had to split up to go home. Saiyuki waved her friend goodbye and went on with her life. Living as if tomorrow would never come and not thinking about yesterday.

As she went into her house she was greeted by the emptyness of her house. Not one person lived with her. She was alone, not that she didn't mind a little peace after a hard day. Even though she would like to have her little brother around. A warm welcome is much better than the dusty curtains of a small apartment. 

She lifted her feet off the ground as she at on her sofa and lay them next to her body. She sat there in a curled up position falling asleep on her own. This was nothing for a girl like her. She loves company and people around. As a hour passed, her eyes started to close and she fell asleep.
