It was a day like any other, though this one set aside for one goal in mind. Something he had constantly been lacking as of late. While his skills, particularly in ninjutsu, benefit him in playing more aggressive roles; being the one to do the killing, Yuudai never felt right whenever it came down to that. Currently, standing on the rooftop of a building and staring down towards the village square, he knew that some measures would eventually have to be taken. Dressed in his typical attire consisting of the black fighting kimono he was rather fond of, Yuudai took a seat with his back facing towards the stairwell he used to climb to get in this particular occasion. Really, he had nothing to do as of today, thus leading him to come to the conclusion of the need to train even harder than before. He was slacking. Something that could hurt himself or worse, others. As he brushed away his indigo coloured locks from their position that obscured his vision in a minor way, Yuudai’s impassive eyes continued to look down at the village.

There were two things that Yuudai felt would help him greatly. Then again, there were always ways to improve one’s own abilities. Fūton, the element of wind, was something Yuudai was always fond of and not just due to the need of using it in combination with Suiton to perform the Aisu clan’s advanced element, Hyouton – Ice. The element of wind always came more naturally to Yuudai than that of water, something that he had always put a lot of thought in to, though the practical use of both was relatively even. Last that Yuudai could remember, he had a number of scrolls with Fūton techniques listed on them, yet only ever managed to set aside time for one, something he wished to fix immediately. The last technique he learned, Great Vacuum Sphere, proved to be a daunting task when he learned it. Not particularly due to the difficulty, but rather the after math that resulted from the jutsu.

Today was the day he set aside for continuing to learn the rest of the Fūton jutsus he had read about. Reading the scrolls was one thing, practical use, however, was completely different. Anyone could sit down and read a scroll and understand the fundamental basics that were written down – after all, they were created for the general public to learn. The reason for why he was up here on a roof was rather simple. Instead of destroying objects, trees, training dummies, and the ground, utilizing Fūton techniques in the air, and not allowing them near the ground, would easily avoid the process of causing damage. Besides, going to the training grounds would possibly cause too many distractions for Yuudai to focus and begin learning any jutsus. He had four jutsus he wanted to learn, one had already been practiced under a private setting, thus leaving him with three remaining.

Closing his eyes and tilting his head downwards, Yuudai began to recollect his memorization of the three scrolls. The remaining techniques each had a different rank, causing Yuudai to take in the difficulty factor when training. The most logical choice would be to start from the ground up. In this case, starting with the lowest ranking jutsu and then moving onward from there. The lowest ranking technique that Yuudai had gotten a hold of a scroll for was that of the Fūton: Daitoppa – Great Breakthrough. The technique didn’t require any hand seals, thus taking that out of the equation for learning the practical use of the jutsu. If his memory was accurate, which it was on most occasions, the Wind Release: Great Break technique had a delayed reaction and would manifest behind him. The wind picking up and bursting forward would also hit the user as well, something he could utilize for his kenjutsu, or even for projectiles, should he choose to purchase some. The thought of using this jutsu in synchronization with a quick slash via the usage of his katana surely did provide for a quick hit, possibly even devastating, and the creation of a gap between himself and his opponent, if the target was unprepared for it. The range itself was longer than any technique he knew to date, which really wasn’t saying much, but still deserved the acknowledgement of such.

Ocean blue eyes opening with a new purpose, the usual blank look now replaced with one of determination, Yuudai pushed himself out of his sitting position with the aid of his right hand. Brushing off his hands against his scarf, which he tossed off earlier, Yuudai felt he was about ready to put this new jutsu in to application instead of it remaining in theory. Standing a few feet off the edge of one half of the building, facing the direction that had much shorter building compared to the one he was one, Yuudai felt like he could perform this jutsu without having to worry about being reprimanded. With a deep breath, Yuudai looked out in to the thick mist that always surrounded the village. This jutsu would easily alter the haze that would be in its path, though it would be remedied automatically once the jutsu dissipated.

With his arms lax by his side, Yuudai concentrated upon willing the wind behind him to pick up. To begin to rush forth and produce a gust of wind that would be powerful enough to throw another person off balance. Instead of closing gaps for his kenjutsu, this would create an opportunity to get away, or possibly even attack from a distance using projectiles. After a slight delay, purposely suspending the action of the wind until he felt comfortable, Yuudai felt the wind beginning to pick up. Attempting to hold his ground, as to not move, expecting the gust of wind to catch himself as well, thus employing a technique he learned back in the academy. Supernatural Walking Practice would help him maintain his ground, even if he didn’t need it, the security it brought along with it surely would be helpful.

The blast of air that came forth not a second later caused Yuudai’s hair to lose to normal positioning and send it waving forward due to the effects of the speed of the gale. The loose parts of his clothing also attempted to join the wind in the blast towards the other side of the building. The thin layer of mist going away, temporarily. Then it all went back to normal as the wind died down. What surprised Yuudai the most was how far the blast had traveled, reaching 40 meters.

Deciding what would be next on his to do list, also known as the list of jutsus he needed to learn would be a technique with more offensive prowess, the Vacuum Wave.

After taking a short break, mainly to stare off in to the depths of the mist that surrounded the village on a daily basis, Yuudai lost track of the amount of time that he spend just staring. With the calming wind and the elevated height of being on top of a building, learning Fūton techniques in this setting would certainly be beneficial; even if it’s just for the sake of being in an area that most consider better for the techniques. He really needed to get around and finish off his training for the day, which consisted of learning the Vacuum Wave and Blade of Wind, both of which were two other Fūton jutsus that Yuudai saw fit in to his combat style, both which he felt had utility for himself and his allies. While he wasn’t utilizing his Hyouton chakra; as much as he should be, something others would do if they were in his place, he felt that to succeed he needed more than just the utilization of his clan’s Kekkei Genkai.

The next technique that Yuudai wanted to learn, which was just one rank above the Great Breakthrough technique he just finished learning, was the B-ranked technique known as Wind Release: Vacuum Wave. Recalling the details from the scroll he had previously read, the technique could be utilized from a long distance, roughly 25 meters in range. Though the technique is described to have more prerequisites to form, as well as being a higher  rank, it would take a bit longer to learn, however, with proficiency in Fūton, it wouldn’t take too much longer than Yuudai supposed. Remembering the scroll was just a portion of the learning curve for any jutsu. The real trouble would come when it comes to performance and execution of said jutsu. The technique itself isn’t too difficult to perform as it just requires one to take a deep breath and spin around prior to releasing said breath. From what he could recall about its devastation, the jutsu was strong enough to sever limbs at closer ranges, while still being able to deal significant blows from far away. If anything, this would help him severely from getting out of sticky situations.

With his katana, still gleaming without any signs of age, laying off in the shade, which he brought with him almost anywhere in case of emergencies; or rather the preparedness any shinobi would show on a consistent basis. Yuudai stood up straight, calming himself and his breathing down, in order to maintain stillness. It was becoming a habit, to become in tune with the wind. It occurred naturally when he was younger, learning to ‘be one with the wind’ as the saying would go. When he was younger, the meaning of the phrase always escaped him. But with time, and maturing, came the insight to the meaning of the phrase; or at least his personal interpretation of what ‘being one with the wind’ meant. Speaking to himself, a habit he developed over time, Yuudai preferred talking thing outloud at times, as it often made things clearer. “To be one with the wind, to feel the wind, lose all restraints you keep on your body. Loosen up and ease the senses.” To be relaxed was much easier said than done. Over the years of constant training and the teaching within the academy to always be aware, it wasn’t as easy to loosen up. Yuudai always felt more at ease, when learning, to be extremely relaxed, to have no pressure put upon himself to have to learn, but rather learn while his mentality could absorb it with ease.

Taking in a deep breath, a common theme with most techniques that make use of the wind element, Yuudai began to mix in his chakra with the air the he just took in. It was beginning to take its shape within the confines of his body. The semi-circular shape, just like the moon on occasion, an innocent shape by all means, though also relating to some of the most deadly techniques and items known to man. Swords, while not all swords shared the properties of having a curve, scimitars clearly had the same shape as the moon. Scythes, a sign of death, also share similar properties to the crescent shape that the Wind Release: Vacuum Wave jutsu. With just as much power, probably even more with the combination of chakra being included, added with a superior range advantage, it would be hard to argue the prowess of the Vacuum Wave compared to ordinary weaponry.

With the breath he recently took mixing with the chakra he began to combine with it, Yuudai began to feel the strain it put forth, knowing he’d have to release it. Thus, beginning the spinning motion, clockwise, Yuudai remembered his surroundings, knowing that any way he aimed it, nothing would be caught within the crossfire, except for the mist that was as present as always. Feeling more comfortable doing a smaller spin, in this case a one hundred eighty degree spin clockwise, Yuudai began to ease the muscles in his mouth, as he approached the halfway point in the spin. He even chose to elevate himself off the ground by pushing himself up with his right foot, in a relatively short jump. As he reached the last forty five degrees in the spin, Yuudai began to exhale.

It was always an odd feeling that occurred when he would have to utilize his breathing in order to use a jutsu, but it was beginning to come naturally with the more he trained and more jutsus that he added to his repertoire. The breath the was released was not a normal one, as the infusion of chakra and oxygen formed what almost looked like a solid shape, though the transparency waivered as the Vacuum Wave began ripping through the currents of air. Feeling the effects the jutsu had on the air, Yuudai was glad that he wouldn’t, currently, be on the receiving end of such a jutsu. While, he didn’t enjoy killing others, the impact of the jutsu, being able to dismember limbs, was something Yuudai felt he would have no issue doing if the need for it were to ever arise. The pressure of the wave was still felt as it began to travel further away, though the lethal capabilities of the jutsu would not be as significant with the more distance that was covered by the technique. Watching as the jutsu made a clean slice through the shroud of thin mist that was usually occupying the air at his current altitude, one of the taller buildings in Kirigakure no Sato.

With the offensive jutsu reaching the last leg of the course it was said to run, Yuudai stored the information as best he could. While the scroll did provide significant amounts of detail, seeing it in a practical setting was far more efficient for an individual to be able to deliberate how it could be used in future settings. However, thinking also had its restrictions and boundaries. A person could only run so many scenarios in their head, thinking of how to utilize everything within their arsenal to gain the advantage while in a battle, or even a spar. Knowing that a situation in his mind won’t play out exactly as planned on the battlefield was always something Yuudai wanted to keep in mind, no matter how hard he tried. Predictability in battle was never certain; not even in spars. If one’s life was on the line, they would pull out all stops just to thwart any attempt at taking their own life. Such was the life of a shinobi, even more so when one had a higher standing or building a reputation.

Checking back on the mist that had dissipated due to the technique slicing cleanly through the thin veil of mist; it was the Village Hidden in the Mist after all, was beginning to slowly fill in once again. The darkened sky of Kirigakure no Sato, no matter what time of day, always seemed to block out the sun effectively, giving time within the village an alteration that lasted yearly. While, on rare occasions, the mist may lift, it was highly unlikely, for the namesake of the village was there for a specific reason.

The jutsu hadn't taken much out of Yuudai, as this was only jutsu training, privately. While training a jutsu in a spar would be efficient for the sake of practicality, Yuudai felt it was safer to learn the technique alone, getting to know the ways to perform and execute it before translating it into battle. Besides, the higher ranking jutsu never sat right with him if he ever chose to use them in the location of a spar. After the aftermath of the Amaterasu that hit the village a while ago, thus destroying most of the village, Yuudai knew for the sake of the village and those he cared about he'd have to get stronger. Possibly in to the status of being one of the more well known ninjas to come from Kirigakure no Sato. However, Yuudai also knew that just attacking wasn't all he'd have to do, defense was just as important.

With another jutsu to be added to his repetoire, Yuudai just had to go through one more technique before he could call it a day. The next one would take a while longer to learn, or maybe would need more concentration while attempting to execute the jutsu.

Though time was always a concept that seemed to escape Yuudai's mind, he believed that the hours provided in a single day sometimes were not enough to satisfy a person's needs. While it was always difficult to tell time by relying on the sun in Kirigakure no Sato, the inhabitants of the village were accustomed to the environment, thus internal clocks seemed to adjust and decipher the approximate time. Judging with his honed senses, Yuudai felt more time had passed by than expected. Already having missed lunch, the time was nearing four o’clock, closing in on dinner. A quick calculation and deduction told Yuudai that he’d have at least half an hour to spare before dinner if he learned at the pace he thought himself to learn the next technique.

The repertoire of ninjutsu techniques, primarily reliant on Fūton, that Yuudai had built up until now had quite the versatility he needed, though he suffered in the close range department, something he felt his katana would aid in, though not a weapon he should rely upon entirely in such range. If he were to ever be without his blade in close quarters, he’d needs at least one technique to defend himself with, no matter how powerful and dangerous. His reasoning behind attaining a scroll which detailed the Fūton: Kaze no Yaiba jutsu was due to that very reason. After hearing about it on occasion from other shinobi that frequented the training grounds, Yuudai’s curiosity of techniques piqued, particularly those suited for closer ranges. Fūton jutsus, although not as fast as Raiton, still held a considerable amount of speed. Learning this method would definitely help Yuudai's prowess in close range fighting. The Wind Release: Blade of Wind jutsu that he was set out to learn posed some difficulty with its utilization from the description provided in the scroll. The technique also tended to create noise, howling winds, which certainly make it a technique that he wouldn’t use to sneak upon somebody, though that could quickly be solved with the use of long range attacks or the use of his katana.

Knowing that this technique would be the most difficult one of the day, he had purposely saved it for last. The flow of learning lower ranked jutsus first was a method that Yuudai had grown accustomed to, though used it on occasion. More often than not, he’d usually dedicate a single day for a jutsu to learn the ins and outs. After internal debates, having a few more jutsus learned in a short period of time would be useful in cases of emergency. His quick successive promotions proved to him that he truly needed to step up his game in the field of ninjutsu.

On his feet and standing, where he supposed was the center of the rooftop, Yuudai stood perfectly still once more. Breaking away from patterns was something he rarely did when it came to training singular jutsus, though each would have its own variation depending upon the nature of the jutsu he wished to learn. As a jounin, Yuudai knew he would have to place himself out of his own comfort zones eventually, something he preferred to ease himself in to. Today, for this particular jutsu, Yuudai supposed it was best to get straight to the point of the jutsu, preform it once or twice, and then analyze it after seeing the results. He theorized that it would weed out any personal bias he had beforehand of said technique. That and he would have to start getting more unique, creative, and original in the techniques he wished to develop on his own time. With a quick reflection upon the process of preforming the technique, Yuudai relaxed the muscles inside his body, loosening them to put his mind at ease.

Not one for beating around the bush, Yuudai began with the first step that was required to perform the Wind Release: Blade Of Wind successfully. The first step to this jutsu, like most others, was fairly simple to do so. This jutsu, like quite a few others, required no hand seals to execute; mainly relying upon the user to direct chakra to a singular body part. Due to excessive time moulding chakra within one’s own body, something that was taught during one’s academy years, this stage would be simple to accomplish, causing the rest of the jutsu to easily fall in to place. For such a high ranking jutsu, there wasn’t much that was required of one to perform the jutsu except for the necessary amount of chakra reserves and the ability to send chakra to the tips of all their fingers; along with the skill level to not dismember one’s own body parts due to the potential destruction of the jutsu. Relatively easy, Yuudai sent chakra to each of his fingertips. Chakra in a person’s body never changed how the individual felt, so long as their chakra flow was never disrupted, and with chakra expelling out of the pores of each of his five fingers on one hand; four fingers and one thumb technically, there really wasn’t a drastic change that occurred. Even a genin would be able to do as such, especially with all the practice that goes in to learning Supernatural Walking Practice.

The calming air around Yuudai began to shift imperceptibly. A gradual change that one would not be able to pick up when the process had begun unless they were paying attention to it beforehand. Sourcing the calm movement of the particles of oxygen could easily be traced to the chakra being expelled out of the purple haired Aisu male’s fingertips. With nothing else expelling chakra within the vicinity; as most individuals would either be finishing up training or just heading home, Yuudai was the sole source of chakra expulsion within the direct area, though it was also a rather rare location for one to use for their personal training. What normally would be a process that would be done within a second or two, Yuudai had delayed it on purpose to get a feel for the flow of the technique. As an end result, it would also be faster to speed up later on when the situation called for a violent, close range jutsu. With the calming process over, which only took three seconds; it would be sped up in the future, the wind around Yuudai began to collapse in his purlieu. Used to the different currents in air, the violent nature taken on by the jutsu being performed was one that Yuudai hadn’t felt before. It felt dangerous. Dangerous enough that if mishandled he would have to suffer the consequences; the possibility of losing a limb. To go along with the already violent property that the current had taken on was the howling noise that came along with it.

Feeling an odd sense on each of the fingers flushing out chakra, Yuudai looked at his right hand; the source of the sensation. Squeezing his hand ever so slightly, Yuudai could feel the wind around him change about, the whistling blares not letting up. Testing out to see how the wind around him would follow the movement of his hand, Yuudai ever so slowly redirected the direction his right palm faced away from his body, in front of himself. The thrashing continued, though the blades of wind remained connected through the source being released through the skin of each finger. Remembering a detail on a scroll which specified the reach of the Blades of Wind jutsu, the listed range stated five meters. Though it didn’t seem as too far of a range compared to other techniques, five meters was a lot of distance to cover in close range, even for a shinobi. Given the circumstances in a battle, the Blades Of Wind jutsu served its own purpose, yet was still dangerous. Analyzing how he could use the opponents fear of such a jutsu to serve his own purpose, Yuudai knew the technique could serve a purpose of attacking in place of his katana or even to cause the opponent to back away, to dodge the attack completely, giving Yuudai more time to bide for other possible attacks. The attack began to dart out in the direction that his fingers turned to face.

The air that was cut though as Yuudai moved the technique away from himself sent the cut wind blasting towards his face. Unfazed, Yuudai allowed the technique to dissipate on its own, realizing that he had seen all he needed to at the moment. Feeling the drain on his chakra reserves, which still were plenty full, Yuudai knew the potency and situational prowess that the Kaze no Yaiba jutsu provided. Devastation at such a close range, an enemy would be foolish to try and take it head on, unless they were able to defend it with a jutsu in such a close range. The closer that Yuudai would be, the more destruction that would be caused by the A ranked Fūton jutsu. Taking a moment to rehash the mental pictures he had taken of the jutsu he felt he was missing some vital information that he would need in the near future if the jutsu he had just used was needed in a situation.

The newly purchased scroll; though the scroll itself was not new at all, detailed that the range of the technique would not continue as the user moved forward. Instead, the range was predetermined once the jutsu was utilized, thus the range would be set five meters away from the location where the chakra would begin travelling to one’s fingertips. Given the circumstances pertaining to using this Fūton jutsu, Yuudai felt it would best be used when an opponent would come charging in, causing them to go full on defense or relying upon other tactics, something he’d have to be wary of in the future.

Glancing up at the darkened sky, Yuudai could tell what time it was coming to. Dinner. Something he looked forward to on a daily basis, being able to spend time with his mother, who was often busy working in the hospital, using he specialization as a medical ninja for purposes off of the field. Knowing he should leave soon, Yuudai wanted to spend just a bit more time here, for some reason it felt like an appropriate location to go through the jutsu he just completed instead on contemplating over it on the walk home and during dinner itself. Based on his current understanding, he had played out all the basic scenarios that could eventually occur, but that would only take him so far. Preplanning, while most found it useful, always proved to be difficult to implement in a real world scenario. With so many variables floating about one could never be completely prepared for a single situation, even the most basic of missions had the potency to go completely wrong. The jutsu could not even be used in a more practical setting; in a spar, except with the use of clones, and even then, he wouldn’t know how well that would play out. Individuals he would spar with would pose completely different threats than those he may face when a life is on the line.

Deciding to pack up before he got too lost in thought, the purple haired Aisu clansman swiftly pivoted on his left foot, turning in the direction where he earlier put down his scarf and katana. It would have been foolish of him to leave without the two objects, one which he held fairly higher than the other as it was half of his current arsenal. Realization also dawned on him that he would also need a new weapon eventually, maybe down the road, for the use of bukijutsu techniques, but also for a better alternative to this relatively normal weapon. Tossing the plain white cloth over his right shoulder, Yuudai deftly placed his sheathed katana between his sash and body, no longer having the need to carry it in his hand. Walking towards the edge of the building, Yuudai quickly hopped off, knowing that he’d safely land on his feet; as a trained shinobi would, and make his way back home.
