Shibirin woke up with a start, as usual. His alarm had waked him up at the worst possible time: he was dreaming about a new jutsu, a doton jutsu, he didn’t have many of those in his arsenal. It was a jutsu that turned his body into mud. To someone who didn’t know their doton properties very well, they’d think it was a pretty useless jutsu, but luckily Shibirin could see past what the jutsu seemed like at first. Shibirin knew the properties of doton from start to finish, from its weakest property to its strongest. To him, he saw this jutsu as a way of blocking raiton attacks, because he knew that mud was a great insulator of electricity. If he managed to turn his body into mud, he’d be able to take in raiton attacks without experiencing any of its effects, or reduce the harm of the attack by a large amount. He knew he wouldn’t be able to completely turn his entire body into mud and still be able to control it, for mud was not solid enough to be able to suspend his original body weight. Shibirin, however, didn’t want to rush into all the facts about the jutsu yet, for he wasn’t actually sure about whether or not he would be able to give his body the same properties as mud. That was going to be his first task; his second task would be maintaining his body in that state for long enough period of time. Then he was going to try to walk in this state, as well as learn how to move his body without cancelling the jutsu, after that he’d try using his new state for offense. Shibirin quickly rushed himself out of his bed, before making his way towards the closet.

Shibirin usually wears a plain, long-sleeved white, polo shirt and long black pants on as his usual attire, but he had only just recently started to wear his Genko clan cloak around, wearing nothing else with it but his long, black track pants and his black shoes. Earlier that month, he had ordered for the cloak to be custom made for him, meaning it was the only Genko clan cloak in the Shinobi world. Wearing it normally meant that he was the clan Sama, but he knew his brother was technically the Sama, since he was the oldest in the clan, but Shibirin wasn’t so sure if he was as strong as his age said. Still, even without being the official Sama, he felt some need showing his pride in his clan, and in what better way to do it than wear his clan symbol around everywhere? After Shibirin had put on the large cloak, which extended all the way past his ankles, but it floated above the ground by merely a centimetre or less, he took out his two remaining katana: Sai and Noro and made his way outside his apartment. He wanted to practice this jutsu somewhere near water, that way it’d be easier for him to mimic the liquid properties of water and then be able to interpret them into his doton jutsu and change his body into mud. He decided to head for Iwagakure’s water fall point, as he was bound to find both a good enough surface for doton jutsus and water for his new technique.
It didn’t take Shibirin very long to reach the waterfall point. When he had arrived there, immediately his eyes were drawn to the large waterfall above his view, which flowed natural water down the Iwagakure rocks and ran downhill to form a small river below, where Shibirin was standing at the moment. There was a small breeze around the area, but one big enough to notice. It came and brushed itself across Shibirin’s face, cooling his skin as it did. Shibirin decided that this was the perfect spot to practice his new jutsu, and with that in mind, he began looking at the first thing he needed to do for the jutsu. ’So, the first thing to do was…change myself into mud,’ he noted in his mind. He thought to himself, how could one simply turn themselves into mud on the first go, but then decided that he’d try turning a part of his body into mud first, before he turned his whole body into mud.
’Ok, so let’s start with an easy body part: my arm,’ he plotted in his mind, as he now paid attention to his left arm, before focusing doton chakra into it. It took his half an hour, just to be able to turn his arm into stone, but even then he still couldn’t change it from stone into mud.
A few tries later, he finally got it. He had managed to turn his left arm into mud, mud the type of mud it was, was too weak to even let him move one of his fingers. He now focused of returning some of the mud’s solid properties back into the hand, in order to make it more stable and it worked. He could now bend and stretch his fingers and still be able to control them. Now he needed o try on both hands. He sat down on the ground, and tried to do the same thing he had done with his left hand, to his right as well. This time, it took him two hours, but he finally did it. Both of his hands were now dripping in mud, a sign that the jutsu had worked, but he wasn’t finished yet. After accomplishing this first step of the jutsu, the rest of it seemed more achievable than before. All Shibirin needed to do now, was focus on changing his entire body into mud and then after doing that, he’d need to perfect it so he would be able to use this jutsu in a second or less. Shibirin, still sitting still on the ground, concentrated in changing the untouched chakra flowing through his body into Doton chakra, thus changing his body into mud. It took him at least 20 goes and nearly 3 and half hours to finally get his entire body into mud, but he had done it anyway. Shibirin kept repeating this technique until he was able to perform it in three seconds or less. Eventually, he got the jutsu up to the level he wanted to , but there was one final part to the jutsu’s trilogoy: fighting with it. Apart from defense from lightning attacks, Shibirin wanted to use the mud for offense as well. He quickly tried forming his mud-infised hand into a hammer, a club and a doton sword. He did exercises on moving about in the mud state and as far as the drawbacks go: Shibirin couldn’t jump any higher than 2m and he noticed that he couldn’t run whilst in this state either, though his Jutsu was complete anyway…
