Round One: Yuki Yoshito vs. Makoto 1lyr3oO

Located in the southwest areas of the Land of Fire, these lowlands are inundated with rain, down to the soil being soaked. The arena is a sort of labyrinth of waterlogged ground interspersed with meter-deep water. The water makes running impossible while even partially submerged, and the land proves little better as a foothold; the slick mud comprising the embankments causes anyone moving above 10m/s on them to move 5m forward uncontrollably. Unlike standing on the surface of the water, Supernatural Walking Practice has little bearing on the shifting semi-solid mud.

The sound rang out in the arena’s open air. He could feel the earth underneath him shake from the crowd’s roaring. The boy sat on the earth in the corridor before entering the arena, he was nervous. His arms felt like spaghetti, his mom made him some spaghetti, but he vomited it already on the floor next to him. He’s calm and sweaty but on the surface he looks calm and ready. Yoshito’s chest swelled with a breath and depressed once more allowing the air to exhale out of his body letting out an audible sigh of relief. He looked to his right and could see the arena from the wide open corridor he was sitting in. “Okay.” One simple word defining his readiness to get his battle underway. Before leaving the corridor the boy felt around for his ninja tools in case he would need them, three kunai, five shuriken and the kusarigama strapped to his back. Each handle holstered with the kamis scythes pointed outward to avoid any accidental stabbing. That would be awkward.

Yoshito stepped to the edge of the cemented corridor and noticed the floor before all else. He could see water mixed with land and could deduce that the land would most likely be muddy. Yoshi stepped foot onto the nearest piece of land and could feel the unsteadiness of his planted foot on the ground. Yikes The boy thought, knowing there was no way to back out now he had to be ready. All the training before this would be put to test battling his opponent. Suddenly a loud voice seemingly over an intercom of some sort would ring out over the arena silencing the crowd after multiple hushes. “Round One, Yuki Yoshito vs. Makoto!!” The commanding voice ended with a static feedback. Makoto His opponents name rang out in his mind saying it over and over again. The voice in his head rose volume with each statement of the name to where it was almost matching the crowd. He was pumping himself up and hopefully it had some impact.

Yoshito took steps onto the arena feeling out the place before doing anything rash. When he stepped off of the muddy land his leg fell covering his leg up to his knee in the murky water. Yoshi was startled by that shown by him quickly jerking his leg back up from the depths and shaking his leg. He was finally out of Kirigakure and to Konoha, feeling the warm embrace of the sun and now here he was back in the water yet again. It was some cruel joke. “Get out me swamp.” Yoshi said as he looked around for his opponent as the crowd roared on for the fight to get started.

Makoto was still sitting waiting for his hair to dry at the time, the match was scheduled to start in roughly half an hour as he began to think to himself about all the things she said.
He could not help himself from feeling alone as he drank a juiced lime, the moment was near and he just could not understand all the emotions going to his head.

Ashe was looking up to him as he was then looking to the ceiling.
He just could not understand this nervous feeling
Waiting for his hair to dry
Wandering why he felt like he wanted to cry

This was his one moment in life that he may never get again
He did not understand any of it back then.
Remembering all the times he had fought and all the times he got caught
All the jutsu he created all coming to naught.

In the end does it even matter, as the fragments of his emotions start to scatter
Ashe moves closer licking his toes and feet trying to cheer him up as he nudged her away
He had to focus in order to win today

After contemplating at first he started to get dressed, wearing some ordinary black shorts with some decent pockets and a white string to tie since it felt loose.
However the string of his shorts made him think of a rope around his neck like a noose.
Then keeping the towel over his shoulders as he slowly put on his first sock as he began to wonder if he was really ready for all this.
As he put on the other sock, nearly falling as his ankle nearly made a twist.
The nerves were killing him and hurting him so bad
To the point that all this hard work would drive him so mad
The feelings in side made him so glad
But at the same time made him feel so sad

He then put on his new running shoes as he was aiming to run around to buy time to perform his ninjutsu
However his opponent had the option of running around with him too.
In the end he really disliked taijutsu
But he had a friend who was also a master in genjutsu

After putting them on he carefully tied the first shoe lace
Carefully looping it around as he could not hide the tears flowing down his face
For some reason Makoto did not seem to understand
These feelings as his mind was lost in this new land

The land of fire, a land far from the earth he called home
Where sparkles in his dreams, moved from side to side like a metronome
The intensity of everything invested in me
Is the thought that he had when preparing to make them see

He put on his Light Fibre Vest first as he slotted in his right arm and then his head and struggled to put in his left arm
He wanted to make it tight so that none of his gear would suffer the fate of disarm
Then he proceeded to put on his reinforced cotton fiber t-shirt to hide his light fiber vest
He felt he had to come properly prepared for this shinobi test

Makoto stretched his arms once to the left and once to the right
He swung and loosened up his shoulder preparing for the fight
He equipped his shield to his back, preparing himself for any attack
Inside the shield his tanto, and then he proceeded to snack on his lunch pack

Had to get a good dose of sugar, before the battle begins
Since running low on energy, can decide who wins
He then looked towards his new weapon, the yari
As he looked at it and decided to make it move, and one day call it ahri

After that Makoto began to carefully insert the first lens into his renzugan
Then the second, and the third and the forth, not just for fun.
Finally they were ready to be equipped as he looked at them all sitting in there
Re-positioning and adjusting them as if he was doing his hair
He then proceeded to move very carefully as he felt sweat dripping down the side of his face
He had a lot of time to prepare, but for some reason his heart began to race.
Carefully he brought the first part of the multi-lens close to his right eye
As it got closer he felt like it would pierce into his soul and make him die
The moment was starting to get so intense
As he felt like none of this made any sense
The lenses were getting closer and closer towards his eye
He felt a fear deep down inside as he could not lie
He had trained for this and prepared to equip this tool
However the jittery mess he was right now made him feel like a fool

He nearly had it when Ashe barked as he dropped it to the floor
He felt deep down inside he just did not care anymore
However he looked to Ashe and then decided he had no right to turn back now
He had to find a way to do this some how

Nervous as he was he picked up the lens once more
Putting it on slowly as Ashe just rolled around on the floor
He felt his heart racing fast beating at his emotional core
He knew in a few minutes he would be going out that door

Makoto equipped his forehead protector to protect his neck
He also wanted to stack his gear like a well made deck
He now finally after carefully pushing it closer and closer managed to slot in the first multi-lense
As he wondered if he felt so dirty even though he had come out from a cleanse

The second lens took a while as well as he carefully raised it towards his left eye
Feelings inside making him feel like he had to cry
Cry some more until the day you die
Drowning in your own tears as truth seems like a lie

He was moving even slower towards his left eye and in this lens was also the golden iris
He was not ready, he was not sure, but he had to do this
It took a while with his shaky hands and then finally it came to an end
He got it in as it appeared as if the light would bend

In his left eye he had the Flash lens, and in the right eye he had the high speed tracking Kakuchō Two
He then had the Kakuchō Three pair and the original Kakuchō one too
He had the color of his eyes appear green for this fight
He would later change it to a different color if he won the right
To take his gear with him and his beautiful jutsu
There was nothing left on this earth that he could not do

He equipped the smoke bomb ring to this right finger on the ring finger of his right hand we all know so well.
He put his flash bang ring on his left hand ring finger and then he nearly fell
He put a metsubishi in his left pocket and another in his right pocket.
He put a ball carefully in Ashe's fur and another two in his cloak he would be putting on soon
He then put the remaining five in different locations with two hidden in his hair
and the last three in his back pocket as he felt all these tools were fair

Makoto had ten makibashi in each of his pockets that he could shake out with ease if he had to, but they were put in well enough not to fall out for no reason as well.
As he expected no matter how good he was his opponent could always find a way to tell
He hid clear crystal catalysts in each pocket, his shield and his headband
He was nearly done as he decided to stand

He equipped his shield to his back and hid it by putting on his cloak over it hiding everything he had just put on.
However he felt there were still many things that could always go wrong
He then used his blanket to tie Ashe on top of his head as she felt a bit disturbed
He then said, "wet yourself and do not blame me if you end up dead"
Part serious and part joke it made him relax
As he wondered if one day he should get an axe

He equipped his yari on the outside of his over cloak
As it was the one thing he would show as if all his other gear was a joke
His kaginawa launcher was attached to his arm for emergencies and with that said
He walked towards the door as he shook his head.

Makoto finally reached the edge of the cemented corridor and noticed something as soon as he was planning to enter
He noticed a swamp heading from here until the center
He showed his hand to the proctor who made himself clearly visible
To show he needed to do something quick as he found this arena to be incredible

Water, water all around. He had a large lake weapon he could use all on the ground.
However he could not go in this with shoes or socks getting wet so he took them off without a sound
Placing the shoes and socks near the entrance before stepping barefoot into the water
He walked slowly and silently as if approaching a slaughter.

The announcers were loud as he was still near to the entrance on his end as his opponent was not even within range.
He felt that his opponents name sounded really strange
With the battle now officially started he shot his grappling hook kaginawa behind him towards the wall as it latched onto the something as he tugged a few times to confirm its grip.
He dropped down low hiding in the swamp as Ashe kept a close vigil as Makoto looked left Ashe would look right
And if Makoto looked right Ashe would look left so that they would not be surprised by their opponent in this fight
Makoto had his hands in the dog hand seal so that he would simply have to activate his jutsu
Not to mention what all his unique items and gear could also do

As soon as his opponent is spotted by either him or Ashe he would look to see if his opponent spotted him as well, it would take a while since he was still closest to his entrance as the proctor wondered if the swamp was not too big
However the proctor just went about his duties and went to a location that was a bit more out of the way and watched
Right now this may look like a boring fight, but in the end the battle was about to begin.

He would use jutsu as soon as his opponent engages if needed and has kaginawa prepped as well as he focused a bit of chakra into his blanket and whispered to Ashe. "If things look bad, take this and run towards there"
As he pointed to a location several meters from the entrance and then said
"go underwater so he will not see you since you small and get up for air when you have to. for now let's see who our opponent is"

Yoshito looked around for his opponent but to no avail. The arena was much larger than he had expected, the crowd hushed as the battle began, or so that’s what the calling of the names signified. Yoshi was at his entrance swaying his head looking for any indication that Mokoto was even in the arena. He wandered around aimlessly for a moment. His legs felt a bit sticky to the environment, the muddy waters caused swamp like conditions. Yoshi noted that he could simply freeze the water and could possibly win this fight just like that but that seemed too easy and after scanning the area that wouldn’t be possible due to the sheer size. His legs took him a few meters ahead, trying to keep on the muddy surfaces as much as he could because although slippery, he knew he wouldn’t have as much trouble walking on it as he would dragging his legs out of knee-deep waters with every step he would try to take. Yoshi strung a total of ten hand signs utilizing the fact that he couldn’t see Makoto and figured he couldn’t see Yoshi either. The resulting effect was three water clones all appearing three meters from his location. Without audibility or warning, the clones knew what to do. They surrounded Yoshito as if they were guarding him and walked with him like he was the President.

The boy took his kusarigama into his hands just as his clones did, both scythes occupying both hands as he walked forward. He knew he could use this weapon to trade places within a moment’s notice if it had come to that and so he would have that as a backup plan. He was doubting himself, this Makoto character seemed to be a stealthy person and that isn’t good for the young Yuki clansman.

Now about thirty meters from his starting point Yoshi noticed what looked like a thin wire plunged into the wall of the arena for some reason. “Gotcha.” The boy said under his breath almost inaudibly. Yoshit reached into is pouch and threw a shuriken reinforcing it with the Academy Technique after making it possible by putting both kama’s handles in one hand, at the wire presumably holding his opponent. The plan was to cut through the wire entirely negating any hold it may have on whatever Makoto was planning. After the throw Yoshito would run toward his opponent with his kusarigama in both hands after placing the handles back in separate hands, the chain itself being so short wouldn’t make any noise nor would the kama themselves. Makoto’s real chance of noticing that Yoshito was coming would be his feet slushing about in the muddy earth. Once he was within twenty five meters of his opponent Yoshi would throw his kusarigama at the ground in the direction of where the wire once was, still being surrounded by his prepared clones. Yoshi had eyes on him. Makoto tried to hide within the waters but it wasn’t that deep. The water itself was only a mere one meter in depth and there was no way the boy could fit his entire body within three feet of water to completely conceal himself. After throwing his weapon, however, Yoshi noticed that the boy had armed himself with a large spear. Weaponry. Nice, maybe I could learn a thing or two Yoshi thought to himself as he kept running weaving hand signs.

Once Yoshito was around seventeen meters from his opponent’s last known location Yoshi would create two one foot long blade like ice crystals form over top of the small group of four heading toward Makoto and launch them at his opponent at fifteen meters per second. Utilizing this as a distraction the copies of Yoshito would run directly at Makoto’s last known location and perform a gang bang of sorts. The one in the front would charge at Makoto and once he’s within a one meter distance use the water as a shield of sorts to slide toward him. The clone at the side of Yoshito would appear at the side of Makoto offering a punch, extending his arm with a clenched fist aiming at his head. The clone that was once at Yoshito’s other side would do the same and the first one that ran toward him used the water’s fluid properties as cover for his slide would come up extending his leg aiming for his chin upwards. Yoshito would stand back at his seventeen meter distance to await his opponent’s next move.

Theme for the movement through the swamp

The anticipation as Makoto's heart was beating really slow as the intensity of the moment was building. His hair felt like it was tingling from the nerves as if there was electricity in the air. The crowd was extremely silent as soon as the battle had begun, for ordinary spectators this was a difficult fight to watch, but for experienced exam watchers they could see how the battle was playing out. The careful approach of Yoshito who began making preparations for an ambush by his opponent, by summoning his royal guard of three clones. However on the other end was Makoto waiting patiently in the water like a Kappa as time passed.

On one end was a boy with the kurasigama as he was preparing his scythe-like blades like a reaper of death as the approach was building up even further. To some this appeared like an assassin out to reap his pray like a mantis with dual scythes, as the tension in the air was so intense that some people started to feel like their hearts were going to explode or simply stop beating at a moments notice as Makoto remained as still as the night sky, his movements were not visible by the crowd as most of his body was submerged into the water.

After what had seemed like an eternity the fight was drawing near, the intensity in the air was now at its peak as they were both nearing each others range as it felt like two powers were soon going to collide as one made large strides to bring the fight, while the other waited to respond in kind. It was finally time for their battle to begin, this was the moment in which they would have to show everything they had learned up until now. A flicker in the eyes of Makoto as he looked on with eyes green like pale emeralds that had lost their light long ago, a fierceness could be seen in Yoshito's eyes as well as it seems both of them had picked up on something and the battle was now going to pick up immensely.

Combat Theme

Almost as if the tension from earlier no longer mattered. Something was said by Yoshito as he launched from his pockets a slippery slicing shuriken filled with his emotions as it flew through the air rotating towards the string of fate that bound them as Makoto had spotted his opponent and whispered something as well as a light white mist formed that did not hinder their view at all as the shuriken left a slicing sound that failed to cut the wire, however the kaginawa did lose its grip on what it had latched on. With the signal having been given Ashe made way through the cover of mist and swamp towards her destined location.

It seems his opponent was proceeding with a frontal assault as the light mist allowed him to perform his next combination of mist techniques without the use of hand seals. Weaving hand seals in approach makoto performed hand seals of his own, namely the snake to dog hand seal as his eyes took this strange mystifying look as he then released the hidden mist ninjutsu combined with his hidden mist armor as the mist began to thicken as ice crystals seemed to fly towards Makoto. It was unclear as the mist seemed to hide what was going on as the ice crystals made a sound as if crashing into something in the mist.

If the clones continued on their path he would perform the dog hand seal while moving to a different location. If the approach continues he would activate another water ninjutsu using the surround water as there was mist that had actually lowered the water slightly in his location because of the mist jutsu used earlier. From the water hidden in the mist the water tentacle jutsu would be performed to capture the three clones who would not be able to see his counter offensive while he had perfect view of all of them. If they did not continue that would be a different situation, if they chose to retreat he would conserve his chakra and instead create a pond of water that would be infused with his chakra instead.

Either way three water tentacles would proceed to form in the way of their path and reach in front of each of them hidden beneath the swamp water and capture each of them by their footholds preventing them from advancing any closer to Makoto. However the forth and final tentacle would be formed further forward and proceed hidden beneath the swamp water towards the forth and final yoshito to grip hold of his leg from under water using the mist to cover its advance towards the target as well as the water's movements were also unclear because of the hidden mist, however these actions would be taken in response to if his target was brave enough not to leave the location.

If his final target was captured he would proceed to attack with all his shuriken in an arc from the right and left with the limited movement range his opponent would not see the shuriken until a meter or two range where they leave the mist, he would throw three kunai towards vital points of the three other targets in the mist depending on whether they had a sensory technique to see these attacks in the mist was another story. He would also pull out his shield and spear having let Ashe take his tanto for her own self defense as it did not need any training to be used in combat. Though his yari would be used for his final offense and if the targets were not all taken out by those kunai impacts he could attack them with spear strikes while under the protection of his ultimate defensive jutsu, a jutsu so powerful he had not found a way to break it himself without wasting too much chakra. He also new that ashe still have some traps with her and his shield was hidden by his cloak so unveiling it now would not be something his opponent could pick up on without vision through the mist. Makoto maintained perfect vision and maybe even better vision while in the mist as his eyes were focused on winning this fight in the only way he knew how, through complete domination with ninjutsu prowess.

When Yoshito threw his shuriken toward what was presumably Makoto he could hear a slight ting as the metal scraped the line. It was unclear, however, if it had done its job as Yoshi had intended due to a mist erupting from Makoto’s direction. It was obvious now more than ever that his opponent had been where he thought he was. With the mist approaching Yoshito leapt backward from his previous seventeen meter gap from Makoto putting him at a total of twenty two meters but the clones were still heading in Makoto’s direction. As the boy’s body was put in reverse his hands wove two hand signs allowing him to see within any type of mist that would be placed upon the field. But the jutsu wouldn’t limit itself just within the mist, this technique utilized water particles to give Yoshito feedback at nearly supersonic speeds of anything within the radius that touched these particles. He couldn’t feel Makoto’s presence at that moment but he could feel something much smaller than he presumed the boy to be. Something hiding nearby but not close enough just yet to do much. Yoshito couldn’t put his finger on what exactly this thing was. Nonetheless, the boy took another shuriken from his arsenal and flicked it toward the thing hiding out of sight. Luckily, Yoshito didn’t need to take his eyes off the battle for even an instant to do this, the hiding thing wasn’t that far out of sight.

As Yoshito landed he could hear the ice crystals slam into something. Got em. In truth Yoshito didn’t know what the icicles had hit but if it did hit any sort of water the immediate area around it would be frozen. If that meant that Makoto was covering himself in water then some of his body originating from the point of impact would start to freeze and soon it would be frozen in a ten inch radius from the point of impact. Yoshi could hear something happen to his clones, he knew where they were but one by one each clone vanished from his field of sensory. Makoto must have done something to cause them to dissipate, destroyed them most likely. But at the same time as the clones were destroyed a small patch of water began bubbling trying to shape itself into something. As it flourished from the water itself, it reminded Yoshi back when he did a mission with Chigetsu but on a much much smaller scale. “Tentacles? Man not you too.” Yoshi let it slip that he had come into contact with this sort of thing before, only when Chigetsu had used his tentacles, they tore apart an entire ship full of pirates as a storm overhead crashed through the raining sky.

It was obvious at this point that Makoto could see through the mist and Yoshito could as well see through the mist. Only question was how could Yoshi get to the point where Makoto could fight in hand to hand combat. So far Makoto seemed to be the type of shinobi to fall back and utilize his ninjutsu to play the role of damage. Yoshit proceeded to walk to the edge of the arena in an arc formation. “That thing you tried to do, it’s limited. Twenty meters or so, I mean it’s gotta be or else you would have had me right?” Hoping his words would swade Makoto to talk back. It was a basic strategy but a strategy nonetheless until he could figure out the rest of the limitations of his jutsu. Yoshito knew  he still had the option to burst in using the kusarigama as bait from before, it had to be close by, he couldn’t just miss. It he had to make Makoto walk backward a little bit to make that strategy more possible then that’s what he would do. He could feel the suspense building with each and every step. If the crowd were allowed to hoot they would most assuredly holler, however, there were a few here and there in anticipation for what was to come in the battle between Makoto and Yoshito.

When Yoshi made it to the side of the arena there was still distance between the two contenders. Still the twenty two meters of distance had been kept to avoid the tentacle like substance that Makoto had drummed from the water that lay still at that moment. What he had in mind was a little risky. It would either give him an advantage or end the match entirely but he was ready to take such a risk. After the training he had received, he felt as though he was prepared for this battle and hopefully he would prove it not only to those who cared, but to himself as well. When Yoshito’s side of his foot touched the side of the arena a small patch of ice would appear on the wall that housed this swampy arena. Doing this he could bypass the trenchy terrain and also hopefully have a little more time to react to those dastardly tentacles of Makoto’s. Yoshito knelt just a little bit before sprinting his way to Makoto’s location. The first two meters wouldn’t give Yoshito any indication as to where he was but after he scaled those two informationless meters, he could feel Makoto within the area.

Gliding along the wall of the arena Yoshito had it under control. His hands danced as a copy of himself was created just next to him running alongside him. Yoshi and the clone would both jump from the arena outward in the direction of where he once was. Yoshi was a higher position than his clone was, the clone being just underneath him at the apex of their movement just at thirteen meters from Makoto, while in the air the two would weave three hand seals. At the same time, the copy and the original Kirigakure ice man would use a shell of air to propel himself at Makoto, he knew where he was. He knew everything that could happen, he could feel everything within a twenty meter radius of himself. And he was going fast. The ice trail underneath his feet never left as he would appear almost like a blur to the spectators and possibly even Makoto. The limits to Makoto as a shinobi were still yet to be discovered and with these simple combination maneuvers the spectators and Yoshito might just find out what those limitations are. Yoshito and Yoshito #2 twisted their body utilizing the aforementioned hand signs and suddenly cyclones would appear around their bodies moving at Makoto at fifteen meters per second.

The dormant water beneath the two would rise and splash and the mist that was blanketing the area would disappear with the heavy winds created by Yoshi and his clone. What could Makoto do to stop this? Two powerful offensive jutsu were headed his way, at less than a second the two would be at his face with winds surrounding their bodies so fast it would be able to cut the boy and anything caught in between. Yoshi’s mouth curled as the thought of the crowd roaring and cheering him on flooded his thoughts. He wouldn’t get distracted however, he felt like this could be a game winning move if he had just timed it at the right time.

Makoto's counter attack seemed successful as the three targets at close range were captured and killed rather easily, though this may have not been the usual water clone technique as he thought to himself to attempt learning this at a later stage. His last water tentacle was unable to reach his target as both him and his opponent were now maintaining a status quo of sorts, noticing his opponent moving towards another direction he made a light whistle before moving back to his original spot as Ashe got the message and ran to cling to the metal sound made near her location as she gripped hold of the kaginawa head. The kaginawa was reeled in as Makoto went back to focusing on other things as he planted his spear next to him to focus on his ninjutsu which was his main specialty for this fight, and so his pet would be made more attractive as she flies towards his location at around twenty meters per second.

In the process of the return it seems that ashe may have been spotted though the distance was still quite good for her to get away as the mist was still rather mixed with the light mist still available for one more surprise to say the least. The ice crystals seemed rather interesting to Makoto, although they were too weak to affect his defensive technique, there was a mild attempt at freezing for a moment that faded away as his mist defense was superior to this technique. However it gave him this chilling feeling and he had not encountered this kind of ninjutsu before as he decided to take note to be a bit more careful about facing it in the future. Though had the technique been stronger this battle could have come to an end here, he could not take that chance to allow his opponent to take control of the battle. Though he also had his trump card as well.

For some odd reason his opponent started to use talking, as he formed the dog seal and caused the water level to rise a bit more again as he created a pond of water. He was told that thing he tried to do was limited to about twenty meters or so, why state the obvious so either his opponent was wasting time or bringing about a distraction. Neither one mattered as Ashe went behind Makoto and climbed up his back to hide under his clothing snuggling in. Makoto felt ashe did a good job setting up the trap he had originally planned, though he found that technique would be too dangerous to do now as it was clear the blanket would be laying there in the water nearer to his target now, however it would be noticeable by his opponent as the shuriken lay on top of the blanket floating on the water's surface.

They were both lined up with the arena's wall to their one side and the vast expanse to their left, however even with his speed Makoto knew his strength was in his ninjutsu and his hidden mist style. To Makoto's left was the lame tentacle that missed its target at best it could only reach to cover his left side so it was not that ideal at this point while the other three were a bit close and could at least cover the front and left of him, though whether his opponent had fully grasped his water tentacle technique was still unclear, so it was best not to rely on it too much and just let it lay there for when needed.

It seems his opponent made a decision to attack as he was not going to let things go according to plan, or at least this strangely rash plan that was unfolding. As his opponent used the wall to gain a footing at first and was running at a speed his eyes could comprehend, he was glad to have gotten his contact lenses in time for this battle.

The moment his opponent weaved hand seals that was an opening he would not waste as his eyes were focused he waved his right hand to release the mist wall defense as his left hand raised up his shield as he whispered to ashe who managed to spit out some metsubishi since it became clear that his opponent was not hindered by the mist, though seeing in the mist did not necessarily mean his opponent could counter the other technique inherent to his mist style, it was not mean to hide him as it actually hid his other mist techniques.

There was a cyclone of wind that seemed to knock the further expanse of mist back about two meters, but the cyclone's assault would be stopped after that as it clashed with the hidden mist which blocked both of the jutsu as makoto picked up on his mist wall dissipating from the double impact, this offensive jutsu must have been rather strong in combination to have done this as his hidden mist would expand back to its original fifteen meter radius as the spectators had no idea what was going on in this battle.

Makoto reinforced and threw his yari spear towards the closest of the two while still keeping his shield before him. The item reinforcement technique would allow him to pierce through the defenses his opponent might have other then dodging in mid air. However he would not let it end with this as he wanted his opponent to get close as the metsubishi was between him and his opponent a cloud of shards among a cloud of mist among a cloud of smoke released from his smoke ring as it was up to his opponent whether he was brave enough not to pull back from this trap.

The shuriken flew through the air hissing through the misty air. The crowd could only see the ninja tool fly into the mist and nothing more. Flying into the mist without a warning it left a small plume cloud. The shuriken thrown would land much faster than anyone had expected right into the poor thing’s neck. Blood poured from it’s wound slightly, the shuriken stopped most of the gushing blood as it was plunged into the neck of the animal.

Yoshi and his clone were halted, it felt as if they hit a barrier that blocked them from moving. The boy couldn’t see perfectly but he could feel what was going on. He could feel the dormant water, the muddy land every now and then slipping into the murky water, he could feel Makoto and his spear, and Yoshi could even feel his kusarigama he threw earlier just at Makoto’s feet underneath the water. The way the water wrapped around the spear it seemed as though it was plunged into the ground much like the shuriken was against the thing’s neck that was caught in the crossfire between Makoto and Yoshito. He didn’t know what it was nor did he care at this particular moment, he still had a ways to go to get to Makoto. Makoto was at his original position when Yoshito had first spotted him. Nothing changed with this guy, his strategy was to stay put and attack from within the created mist and whatever else could do his dirty work and that would be his undoing. Yoshito could do the same thing in a sense, but he enjoyed the thrill of battle far too much for all that. The feeling of a face cracking on his knuckles or the feeling of victory over an opponent was way too much of a joy for Yoshito to sit back and throw chakra all around hoping to hit something.

As Yoshito landed from his canceled cyclone technique he could feel Makoto reach for his spear. It’s now or never. Yoshito’s thought weren’t even as fast as he was at that moment. Yoshito stomped his foot forward as his position instantly changed with his kusarigama effectively keeping the boy in place. Makoto’s spear flew overhead and Yoshito was suddenly standing not even a foot in front of Makoto just after the spear exited his hand. When Yoshito’s foot stomped onto Makoto’s the boy would undoubtedly feel the sensation of Yoshito’s chakra rushing into his body and immediately afterwards, Yoshito’s every action would be supplemented by the force of wind chakra. The foreign substance to Makoto would enter his chakra system and disturb it instantly. The shock of someone appearing mixed with the pain of his foot being stomped on undoubtedly would give Yoshito the time to weave two hand signs as fast as he could and as soon as they were completed the young Yuki clansman’s hands would rush in a circular motion starting at Makoto’s hands then to his face with spikes coming from his hands going to slash Makoto’s face looking like a speed demon as well as adding a spike onto the soul of his own foot piercing Makoto’s foot. Everything he was doing before was nothing compared to the speed he is at now from the point of stomping on Makoto’s foot.

With all said and done Yoshito would stand there in front of Makoto panting trying to catch his breath. It wasn’t the physical effort he was putting was too much on his body but his chakra was depleting and he knew it. He didn’t have too many options after this. “Makoto, this is where it ends.”

The events that unfolded were none too much of a concern as poor young Ashe suffered a shuriken to her neck as a medical shinobi came out to retrieve the useless pet. He felt she would have to pay the price for her mistake as he had no time to waste on her as his kaginawa returned without its intended host. His mind would not be plagued by this dog, only with the concept that the dog was taken with his blanket removing his escape strategy as it became clear he would have to weather out the storm this time.

Some people in the crowd became silent as the nature of this fight turned from playing around in the mist to a final showdown as a blast of cyclonic air and a wall of mist seemed to clash as Makoto reached for his spear and tossed it towards his target who chose that moment to replace himself, had he done this at another point in time it may have been more effective. However this moment where the two of them were close, face to face for the first time in this battle as if having just met as it was the moment of truth the surprise startled him as he decided to make use of his pond creation as his opponent struck with a blow to his leg which was halted by his defensive jutsu that was unaffected by ordinary physical strikes, although there seemed to be something special about this ability it was not a time to joke around as his opponent seemed to be going all in if he had used the replacement technique to engage with him.

Final Theme

It did not matter much to him that his opponent was able to close the gap on him and he was not going to wait for a signal to decide on what to do. His opponent formed hand seals as if that attack earlier was meant to inflict pain on him as he spewed out a large amount of water that collided with some massive madness that could very well have been a stalemate at best as he had used his special technique to avoid the time lost on hand seals as this was not his only defense as he would have a follow up to this as he could not allow his opponent to get through his defenses just yet. The water beneath Yoshito's feet would also undergo a unique movement as water rose up beneath his target, though it was slower then usual its ability only required a moment in order to capture his target, his ability to multitask was being pushed to the very limits as a fountain of water would rise up and if his opponent chose to escape here would it even benefit him to waste anymore time as Makoto had other techniques available in worst case scenarios.

The replacement technique was not ideal for close range attacks as it also made him feel he should develop a form of combat movement in the future, similar to that weird gliding technique his opponent had used earlier to get the crowd going. As long as the water captured his target from beneath the fight could very well be over, as he would fling his remaining kunai in the air to strike his juggled target if captured, also using the puppet style technique he could return his spear to him to strike at his target as well. However if not captured he would use the time to still use puppet jutsu to bring back his spear as soon as possible while he had other plans for the future as he would fire his kaginawa towards a location further to the center of the arena to create another opening as he was in no hurry to defeat his opponent.

His ability to multitask was not the greatest of all, but it was a talent that paled in comparison to the brilliant eyes of some, and the high speed movements of others as he prepared to bring this fight to an end. If his opponent managed to avoid all of that and still manage to maintain a fighting stance he would use his final trump card for the fight.

Water Droplet Reflection Sight Mist still maintained
Water Wall Encampment used to face off against the jutsu assault of Yoshito, using the time used for yoshito's hand seals with reaction time to balance out versus makoto's no need hand seals counter
Kanketsusen no hand seals weakest version used.
Puppet Style if applicable to pull back spear.

This post delineates all voiced discrepancies about the interactions of the last posting round.

  • Yoshito appears in front of Makoto using the Substitution technique and manages to connect with the basic strike, despite having its damage nullified, forcing the Mist Armor technique to cooldown with Dance of the Rippling Fist.

  • The five-tier reaction time difference gives Yoshito at least enough time to make two hand seals and begin the use of Aerokinesis and Pulsating Shockwave Fist.

  • Yoshito's arms move at 20m/s, and despite the aura expanding at a non-listed rate, we can generously assume only the minimum values for the rank at 15m/s. The attack has enough time to reach Makoto and deal full damage before Makoto can effectively start his jutsu. His foot is hit near-instantly due to contact already being made.

  • Makoto's shield was not Reinforced, and cannot protect against the jutsu's damage. It is damaged, itself.

  • The attack was only stated as going from the hands to the face.  Makoto has given me the following hand positions to work with: Left hand is bearing his shield in front of him at chest-level, while his right is also at chest-level ready to form hand signs. This attack can slash Makoto multiple times from the upper chest area to the face, damaging his neck and likely his trachea (windpipe), possibly also the arteries and veins in the area.

  • Yoshito is then repelled to the edge of the Water Wall's range, both jtusu considered having interacted with each other due to the wording of the Water Wall.

1.5" deep cutting to hands, upper chest, and the neck/face. Lethal Damage Threshold has been reached. Yoshito takes the match.
