Mizu no Kuni - Surrounding Islands
~ Theme Song ~

Their mission was a rather simple one, only really being considered C rank because of the distance of travel and the risk that being this far from the village could pose. A run to the border and back, what could be so difficult? Besides, it was a nice break for Kaito, he didn't mind the walking and it gave him the perfect opportunity to get to know the young shinobi from Konoha. Kaito had never been all that interested in traveling the world, but he knew it would happen at some point in his career as a shinobi. Sachihiro also made for a nice enough traveling companion. Kaito had first met the Konoha ninja at a social gathering he had set up near his home on the beach. While Kaito held no prejudice towards any village, it was nice to see a foreign shinobi enjoying what life in Kirigakure could be like, who knew what sort of turmoil awaited them back home. With that in mind, Kaito's main goal for asking Sachihiro to travel with him, was to show the boy more of the beauty that was Mizu no Kuni in the hopes that perhaps Kaito could convince the young shinobi to stay in Kirigakure longer, perhaps even indefinitely.

As luck would have it, the island they were traveling to was one of the most beautiful locations in all of Mizu no Kuni, and perhaps even the world. The village only housed a few thousand people, but the island as a whole was a popular tourist attraction, getting visitors from all over the world nearly year round. The mountain that made up most of the village was said to have been a volcano, and the number of local hot springs seemed to suggest the same, making the village a tourist destination not only in the warmer months, but the colder as well. Kaito had only ever been here once with his mother, but he looked forward to having Sachi try the spiced squid and mackerel soup. Candied squash was another common treat found among the street vendors.

"Isn't it beautiful here Sachi? There is a set of three waterfalls on the other side of the mountain facing Hi no Kuni. You know, I guess right now we are closer to your home than to mine." Kaito asked the boy as the ship they were on began to make it's way into port.

This had really been the perfect mission for the pair of them, to get paid to come to such a beautiful place, and on top of that the supply line they were suppose to be securing was one of the many trade routes between both of their nations. In effect, they were helping each of their villages by doing this mission. The amount of synergy Kaito had managed to swing into the mission had him rather pleased with himself, but he just hoped Sachihiro was as happy to be in this place as he was. Perhaps after the mission they could go sight seeing, it'd been a long time since Kaito had come here and he didn't remember much other than the delicious food.

Their ship docked next to what looked to be a boat of Sunagakure refugees. Kaito looked them over while he and Sachihiro waited for their turn to get off the boat, as they were just two amongst dozens of passengers. There didn't look to be anyone injured among the refugees, and they were being greeted by a small number of the locals standing nearby with food and gifts. It was nice to see the people of the Land of Waves being so welcoming to those in need, especially to those that came from such a tragedy. It wasn't much longer before the genin were able to go dockside, Kaito loved his nation, but it was always nice getting back on land after a long trip over water.

"We need to get this Sigil Stone to the other side of the island, luckily, there is a hike path that will take up most of the way. Our destination is also near those waterfalls I told you about." Kaito didn't want to tell the Konoha-nin that they would also be walking through the old cemetery along the way, but Sachihiro was young and more than likely easily frightened by such things. No reason to scare the poor boy.

Adjusting the satchel slung over his back, Kaito began to move off toward the market district. They would be able to to find a gondola there that could take them most of the way towards their destination before they had to hop on the hike path. From there, it'd only take an hour or two before they made it to the cemetery, and the waterfalls just past that. It was a simple mission, and Kaito doubted much of anything would go wrong. "Hey, want to pick up some food along the way? You can pick something out for us at one of the street vendors, my treat. I'll go pay for a gondola." Kaito offered, handing Sachihiro sixty Ryo, knowing that the food prices were a little higher do to the tourism traffic.

“It truly is. You should see some of the sights back at my home. I’m sure you’d enjoy it” The young Konohan shinobi replied quietly, as if a raising his voice by merely a decibel would somehow ruin the lush beautiful blues and greens before him. So far away from Kiri’s better and ever close to Konoha’s, one could see their natures mixing within these waters. A place where vast forest and an endless ocean meet to create something their countries alone couldn’t create.

This was his first time foregoing a mission with a companion he had already. Usually being one for introductions before setting forward it was a nice change of pace to travel with someone one is already acquainted with. No needing to exchange pleasantries and already understanding the few but important merits to each other’s character. The Senju obviously being the more social of the bunch as even in such a cramped on a mission he still found time to make some small talk with a few of the locals. A bit strange to some of them as even their own shinobi rarely spoke a word when amongst crowds, he embraced the joys of speech.

As the boat came to a stop, the boy patiently waited for his turn keeping an eye on a neighboring ship carrying Sunagakure refugees. Curious at their origins as he saw groups of family member make their way out he felt some joy at watching relief programs from around the world paying their support and donations to those in need. There were even some back at home welcoming the folk into the city of Konoha following their cities untimely demise. His mind trailed off as he thought of their hopeful futures and in their reinstatement into their newfound homes. Curious as to whether or not they would keep their loyalties to their old country. These villages had much to offer and it would be wise to stick around before Suna was fully rebuilt.

Nearly zoning out before his partner brought mention of a hiking path and the waterfalls he had previously mentioned “Yeah, sounds good” a half reply at best as the boy was still somewhat focused at the boat of refugees. Blindingly following his companion paying no mind to where they were going to be headed though soon realizing it as they began entering the lively hustle and bustle of the local market district. Famed for its diverse tows folk as it being placed between the border of Konoha and Kiri brought both tourists and merchants alike to sell their wares and cash a good amount of ryo.

“Yeah, sure!” the boy looked over at Kaito’s hand and took only thirty of the sixty ryo that had been offered “I’ll pay for the other half. You want anything in particular? You alls seafood never ceases to amaze me” he smiled back and proceeded to wander into the food district. Looking to buy one of the town’s local treats. Perhaps some of their famed fried seafood platters or their oyster trays. He made his way into the sizzling aisles where one could hear the searing and roasting of freshly harvest fruits and animals, his voice echoing back "I'll be sure not to long! Call to me if you need me!"

He did enjoy Kaito's company and was hoping he wouldn't disappoint in his performance if this missions were to ever go awry. Though having full confidence in both of their abilities to perform whilst under pressure, he still wanted to make sure that things went off without a hitch. The kid was brave, not stupid and he made sure to show this in his demeanor.

Unbeknownst to the Shinobi, since their entry into the islands a group of shady characters had been tailing them. Keeping to the shadows as to which of the two boys on this mission they would look to take down. Their eyes fixated on the older of the two as the young’un made his way out of the picture. Fortunately the young Senju caught a small glimpse of one of them, immediately turning to a more serious tone as he rummaged through the food options in hopes that his partner would also catch an eye for them. As they weren't to stealthy, they were still quite inexperienced in their ability to be far from sight. Once they boy would gather some food, he would be sure to walk back with a little more reservation as he would approach his partner and subtly ask "Did you see them?" knowing Kaito would get the message.

As Kaito paid for the gondola for the next three hours, hoping Sachihiro would be interested in seeing the island a bit once the mission was completed, Kaito noticed someone watching him. It wasn't uncommon, considering his was a shinobi, many people in villages such as this one would stare or stop to say hello, more often children than otherwise, but still, it was normal. This person wasn't a child, at least not exactly. She had coarse looking dirty blond hair and black eyes, Kaito vaguely remembered seeing her leave the ship carrying the Suna refugees.

"Mind if me and my friend show ourselves around? I'm taking him to visit my family cemetery, and I prefer to keep such a location private." Kaito lied as he slipped the man in charge of renting out the gondolas some extra Ryo. He knew the look in that young woman's eyes, whoever she was, it would be best to keep civilians out of whatever was going to happen.

Luckily, Sachihiro seemed unharmed, though it was clear to Kaito the Konoha-nin had noticed their little peeking tom. "Yes, I saw the gondolas, they're beautiful." Kaito respond to Sachihiro, noticing another of these rogue ninja not to far behind Sachi as he approached. There were to many people around, once they got on the water, should a fight break out, there would be lest risk of involving those that had nothing to do with either group of shinobi. "Let's get going, and remember, sound travels over water." Kaito said, taking some of the food an smiling before snapping open a fried oyster. He prefered them fresh and uncooked, but now wasn't the time to complain.

The gondola was thin, but long, and Kaito only really knew how to steer it by having seen others do it before. Fortunately, he was doing fairly well once they pushed off from the dock and began to head down the small channel to the other side of the island. It wasn't long before Kaito noticed the three shinobi following them in their own gondola. They were definitely Suna refugees, though none of them wore the proper headbands. Likely missing-nin, though Kaito guessed that wasn't exactly right since Suna no longer existed as a proper state. "Sachi, once we reach shore, I want you to go a head and head up the trail, let me take care of the gondola yeah?" Kaito had no intention of taking on all three shinobi alone, but he could definitely stall them long enough for Sachi and then himself to get off the water and into the forest, where it wasn't likely their ensuing battle would be disturbed by the locals.

Since there wasn't a proper dock, Kaito steered the gondola to beach upon the shore, gaining as much speed to ensure it would be stuck in the sand before he turned and jumped off onto the surface of the water. This apparently caught the three young shinobi who were following them off guard, though one of them managed to throw a kunai in Kaito's direction while the other two jumped over their own boat to meet Kaito on the water. "Sachi, just run!" Kaito yelled as the three shinobi circled him, more than anything, Kaito couldn't allow a Konoha-nin to be harmed within the borders of Mizu no Kuni.

Despite the appearance of the situation, Kaito was still in control, a number of tricks always up his sleeves. Even as their would be attackers rushed forward, all three attempting to take him out at once, Kaito formed the Boar Hand Seal, waiting for the moment just before they would make contact with him before stomping his foot down, causing all three of the shinobi to loose their footing and fall below the surface of the water. Changing tactics entirely, Kaito made his retreat, jumping into the air before causing the water vapor evaporating from the waters below to reform into a chakra infused step within the air itself so that Kaito could jump off of it towards the coast.

Infusing his hair with chakra, Kaito felt the white strands grow longer, solidifying into near metallic senbon before they detached themselves from his hair. Even as the three shinobi sputtered and attempted to pull themselves from under the water, Kaito would send fifty white haired senbon toward their flailing arms, faces, and chests. Satisfied this would deal with the three for now, Kaito rushed to get to Sachihiro, before they continued the rest of their little hike. It was doubtful they had seen the last of the shinobi, but for now Kaito could be assured they were elft licking their wounds. "Come on Sachi, our mission may have just gotten all the more important, we need to see to our duty and deal with those three later." Kaito offered the younger shinobi, he had no idea if the boy had seen proper combat before, and if not now was not the time to teach the Konoha-nin how to take life.

They boy nodded at his partner’s mention of the gondolas. He knew what was going on for sure and liked the traces of synergy among their understanding of the situation. The young Senju had kept close eye as they had slowly surrounded them, they seemed to be inexperienced in their quest to tail the two or perhaps they wer making it as obvious as possible. The duo made their way off the shore and into the open waters as the boy also caught eye of the three shinobi following them. Not subtle at all.

"Yeah, okay” the boy agreed to the Kiri nins plan, seeing that there was no harm in the approaching three. He figured it was a good choice to let the older genin take the lead with no need in compromising a safe plan. Though he brought up ‘taking care of the gondola,’ he didn’t like the insinuation that he was in the way or incapable of assisting. Letting out a slightly frustrated sigh at his eluding of the thought of cooperation and teamwork and proceeded in a light jog heading into the forest and stopping to turn back to his teammate in case things went awry.

The teen seemed confident in his ability and rightfully so as he quickly showcased his techniques on the oncoming enemies. Disabling their ability to walk on water quickly leaping up and performing a successful barrage of senbon haired attacks. The boy nodded as to acknowledge his success in stopping them as Kaito quickly ran up to him and headed deeper into the woods and Sachi follow suit.

The two gracefully made their way through the woods, the boy was in his element and made sure to look back every now then as to keep an eye on any following of the following enemies. It iddn’t seem they were to close, Kaito did a good job in neutralizing their movement for the time being, giving them a minute or so head start. Thinking of the jutsu he had used, perhaps taking into consideration the use of the surface tension technique. Rustling through the dense island forest, the echoes of three ninja just behind them were heard. Shouting order at each other and although faint, “Go find them!” could be made out from that distance.

Making their way through the forest they found themselves reaching a vast clearing. A graveyard just past a fence was within’ their sights and as if on cue, a natural fog began rolling in from its direction. The surrounding moisture and constantly murky islands brought forth this precipitation and began covering them in it as they began approaching this graveyard. Though not too far the boy turned to Kaito “It seems we’re not too far from we have to place the sigil. You still have it with you?” It seemed giving the stone to the Kiri nin made more sense than to give to a Konohan. Not offended at the gesture, completely understanding the likelihood of a local shinobi holding onto to the incentive of their victory in placing it.

Just as the boy finished his sentence, just before reaching the graveyard, an array of kunai whizzed past the bushes just behind them. The boy reacting quickly and immediately weaved his own set of hand signs; Tiger, Serpent and placed his hands upon the ground as a large wooden barrier arose from the ground taking the shape of a spiraling shield rising three meters. Making quick work of the projectiles, simply bouncing from the shield and closing of any further attacks. This a moment of pure impulse as the boy knew they were able to fend for themselves however his need to protect heavily overshadowed his need to fight.

“Listen” the boy turned to his partner “These guys are fast. I don’t know if we’d be able to run them out for any longer. This fog’s going to be getting worse so it’s best to take care of them now while we still have a clear line of sight.” He welcomed the idea of a fight, looking at Kaito with eager eyes. Seeing it more as a bonding experience than anything, he took out his Kunai as if to encourage the thought. He was capable and he was ready.

The fog emanated from the graveyard might have seemed eerie to some, but with the cool breeze in the air and the waterfalls not far from their current positioning, it made since. After all, the stream was fed by a group of hot springs further up hill. The fog was only a natural reaction of the hot water touching the breeze, perhaps Sachi would want to head over to the hot springs, surely even Konoha-nin knew how to relax. With the Land of Hotspirngs along the border of the Land of Fire, Konoha-nin must have traveled there all the time. Kaito himself was rather interested in visiting one day himself, but for now he had other matters to attend to. The graveyard itself looked to be mostly abandoned to age, as most of the graves stones hadn't been properly cared for in what seemed like ages. The presence of rusted kunai and bent shuriken told Kaito this had been a battleground before, as it was about to be again.

Sachihiro was right, now that their enemy had tacked them this close to where they were set to place the sigil stone, the only option left was to to kill them. No trespass against the people of Mizu no Kunai could be allowed within the realm of the Waves, it was an affront to everything Kaito stood for. He just hoped the young Konoha-nin didn't think anything less of him once Sachi saw him kill people. In Mizu no Kunai, ninja did not take prisoners, and even those captured for interrogation were executed afterwards. "Agreed Sachi, if we stay close together our chances at taking them out without injury increase. I'll launch the first assault, use the distraction to take one of them down with a follow up before they can counter." Kaito would wait for Sachi to make a small opening in the wooden shield, he had no idea of Sachi had to maintain the structure, or if it would stand on it's own until destroyed, but either way, they could use cover to attack at an advantage.

Stepping from behind the wooden barrier, Kaito would first block a kunai from one of the assailants before unleashing his most pervasive assault. Coating his mouth in chakra, causing his saliva to froth and foam, Kaito would spit the acidic mixture at the closest missing-nin he could see. Unfortunately for the girl, who appeared to be just under hid own age, Kaito was a dead shot, moving to intercept two shuriken aimed at Sachi so he could focus on the kill. The young woman was screaming in agony as her skin was eaten by the thick and heavy foam, her hair melting and her cloths dissolving and sticking to her skin. If it wasn't for the fact she'd be dead soon, the next few days would have been nothing but pain for her.

It was unclear to Kaito if Sachi had ever taken a life before, of course the Kiri-nin knew of the more lenient nature of Konoha upbringing, how mercy was often valued above efficiency, but Kaito had also heard rumors of Konoha's ANBU, and how they often held as much spirit and skill as the shinobi of Kirigakure no Sato. Was Sachi destined to remain a child minded genin for the rest of his days, or would he step up to take up arms for his people to do the job that needed to be done, regardless of how difficult or disheartening? Kaito had a feeling he was about to find out. If Sachi stepped forth with Kaito watching his back, would he take the young shinobi of the sand out while she was reeling from the first attack, or would he show her the typical Konoha kindness and target someone else? Either option was mercy in Kaito's eyes, as death would also elevate her suffering. Killing her would also more suited to Kaito and Sachi's interests, they were already in a graveyard too, the moment couldn't have been more advantageous.

While waiting for Sachi to make up his mind, Kaito's focus shifted to the other two shinobi, one carried a variation on a kusarigama while the other one wielded a puppet. Kaito wasn't a fool, more than likely the puppet user would make a feints while the one with the weapon would move to attack just as Kaito dodged the puppet. A similar tactic to what Kaito and Sachi were doing. If he attacked the shinobi at range, he could engage the puppet in close quarters combat until Sachi was able to put them on even footing for a classic two on two fight to the death. quickly making the dog hand seal, and putting his hand up to his mouth, Kaito spit forth a spout of water towards the kusarigama wielding shinobi, knocking him to the ground as the puppet closed in on him. Kaito deflected the first attack with the kunai in hand, using a small amount of chakra to keep the blade from breaking, as he reached into his back pocket to produce three senbon. On the next attack, Kaito would lodge the senbon in different parts of the wooden puppet to restrict it's movement, and it's owner's ability to use it.

He'd only be able to hold up this back and forth for a short while before the shinobi with the kusarigama returned to the fight, so if Sachi didn't act Kaito would need to retreat from the engagement before he got got. Hopefully though, Sachi did manage to take out the kunoichi, killing her or simply knocking her unconscious didn't really matter at this point. Kaito needed backup and he could always kill the girl later. It was shame what had happened to Sunagakure, Kaito felt no ill will towards these missing-nin, they had not truly abandoned their duty, it had been ripped from them. Without a Kazekage to properly guide them, how could Kaito expect them to be anything more than they are now? criminal missing-nin that had made the unfortunate choice to enter Mizu no Kuni territory. They would have been killed soon or later.

The somewhat chilling presence that shrouded the graveyard had brought upon them a feeling most would call ominous. The two shinobi having placed just outside these ground bared no mind to its eerie invitation as the reality before them was the life and death situation before them. The young kid couldn’t focus on anything else besides the very battlegrounds. Isolating his attention onto the charging shinobi, watching his partner spew out a trail of acid onto one of their faces, a female shinobi. Leaving the woman collapsed on the floor and wailing out in pain.

At Kaito’s command, the boy properly abided, ‘bending’ whatever wood was needed to provide small openings for his attacks to pass through. Nulling any non-jutsu the enemies launched at them and providing any extra cover the two boys needed. There was no need for the boy to maintain the structure before them and comfortably peeked out of the sides as to view the misfortune that had befallen the woman’s face. His partner had spared no time in attacking and the young Senju couldn’t help get the idea that Kaito was taking some joy from this. As some of his partners had in the past. He wasn’t sure what to think of the Land of Waves, though powerful there was a kind of lurking fascism in the mists. The kid had yet to fully understand its politics but considering his loyalties to Konoha, he was yet to see some of his hypocrisy with that mindset.

As reality started setting into the kids head, the many scenarios started playing through his mind. What could wrong. What could go right. There was virtually no chance in sparing any lives especially with the scene his partner had painted for him. The refugee woman lying on the floor, her hands over her melting face screeching out for mercy, and Kaito weaving past the now disabled puppet master and another shinobi wielding his sickled chain. This was one of the few moments his thoughts had to settle in and he had to let go of his emotional ‘baggage,’ his geniuine care for another’s wellbeing. A lesson that had been taught time and time again to him in the academy. He was a soldier before he was a child and that was a thought that would bring the boy’s kind demeanor into a blank and dreadful one.

His face void of any reaction or conflict, what would be his shaky hands wielding a kunai were steadily and efficiently weaving a hand sign for its own sake. His eyes widened as they fixated on the woman gasping for breath through melted skin and properly analyzed the two shinobi taking on the Kiri-nin. This was not a playground.

“Water Clone Technique.”

He whispered monotonously as two bodies of water arose from the ground and proceeded to form clones of him. Holding on to that same look of indifference the two clones nodded as one peeled away, leaping into the air and plunging a kunai into the woman’s neck. Holding back no force so as to make it quick and painless. It knew there was no need to hold back as letting this woman continue to breathe would just bring further pain and suffering. There was no time to dwell on what could’ve been as it got up, hovering over the corpse, bloody Kunai in hand and looked over at the Senju and his other clone approaching to aid Kaito in his struggle.

Though Kaito’s dealings in the defensive along with his agility were quite commendable for their ranks, it was obvious that this façade wouldn’t hold out for too long and he would soon either misstep or an enemy would find an opening in his movement. As foretold the kursogama shinobi had wisely found his opening and took advantage of it with a forward lunge. Prepared to split the Kiri nin in half as his arms swung back, as he went for a full swing for his torso.

And as if on cue, the boy came in full throttle, leaping into the air and performing a jump kick. Digging into the weapon wielders face and plunging it into the dirt. The enemy and the boy torpedoed past his partner, landing a few meters away and Sachi barreled past the falling enemy and quickly got back to his feet. The weaponed Refugee getting up, a little rattled and surprised at the attack, getting back into a fighting position as he stood between both Kaito and Sachi.

Meanwhile the water clone that went with Sachi had found its way to the disabled puppet master. Finding the chance to keep him busy whilst the sickle chained ninja took on the other two. Properly exchanging and blocking hand to hand combat, not giving him a chance to formulate any puppet strings.

“I got you Kaito!” the Senju yelled at his teammate. Holding onto a determined yet almost cynical glare at their enemy. Preparing to complement Kaito’s fighting style in away possible, even if it meant their target’s death.

It would seem the kid form Hi no Kuni was quick on his feet, and resilient enough to kill when needed. It was good to see that Konohagakure no Sato was producing the same quality of ninja Kaito had heard stories of. Second best only to the shinobi from Kirigakure no Sato, but that was to be expected as well as the reason the two countries had held so long to mutual peace. They had been allies for centuries, with only minor conflicts here and there, but that was to be expected from neighboring superpowers. More than anything, Kaito was glad that Sachihiro had pulled through for him, it was unclear if it was young genin's first time taking a life, but if it was he'd done better than Kaito had, though the Kiri-nin had only been six years old at the time.

With Sachi and one of his water clones seeing to the weapon wielder, Kaito moved forward to aid Sachi's other clone. Kaito would have to ask Sachihiro if he knew a method of seeing through the mist technique that the Kirigakure was known for. If not, Kaito could always teach him his own method, which would allow the two of them more tactical options in combat. They were working well together, but it was always easier and faster when you didn't have to worry about your opponents being able to see you or block your attacks. Made the whole process so much more efficient. With that in mind, Kaito pushed a some chakra towards his fists, condensing it with water release chakra to cause his fists to grow damp before being covered with water. The young Kiri-nin utilized the defensive technique to catch a kunai being thrown by the puppet master. It hadn't been aimed at him, but the water clone the Suna-nin was attempting to fight off.

With the puppet master and the clone locked in a short burst of close quarters combat, something the puppet master clearly wasn't all that skilled in, Kaito took the distracted nature of the shinobi of the sand to his advantage, coating the kunai in chakra before letting it rip through the air, landing in the small of the enemy genin's throat, between his neck and collarbone. For a few seconds the boy looked stunned, or afraid, Kaito wasn't sure which but if he had to guess, he'd choose both. It wasn't long before the young Suna-nin simply fell to the ground, dead and bleeding out into the dirt of the graveyard. With Sachihiro, two water clones, and Kaito all working together against the one Suna-nin remaining, it wouldn't take long for their little problem to be dealt with.

Once the final deed was done, Kaito moved to make sure Sachi was okay, a shinobi he might be, but he was also still a kid and killing took it's toll even on adults and war veterans. "Come on Sachi, let's just place this chakra sigil and get out of here, we can go to a hot spring to relax you know?" Kaito asked, a hint of concern in his voice as he reached over and placed a hand on the younger genin's shoulder in an effort to comfort him. Kaito knew it was far to easy for him, despite not enjoying the act of killing himself, there was a thrill to winning a fight, same as winning a game of intellect or sport. Perhaps it was because he had been around deaths far more tragic in the hospital, watching people die slowly took it's toll on people too, especially those who weren't shinobi and worked in the medical field. Kaito had comforted nurses who had lost patients before, just as he'd comforted families that had lost loved ones.

Hopping over the fence at the edge of the small cemetery, Kaito moved to the edge of the cliff and then across towards the waterfalls. The sound of the rushing water began to grow in intensity as Kaito made his was to the small ledge between the two larger of the three waterfalls. In truth it was just one waterfall, but the river split into three streams just before coming over the cliff, resulting in the appearance of three small waterfalls. It was an incredibly beautiful sight to behold from across the water, but for Kaito it was just difficult footing to try and make his way across.

Once the sigil was placed, Kaito reached forward lightly placing his hand over the glyph, transferring a small amount of chakra to activate it's beacon. Mission complete, with only a marginal amount of difficulty right at the end. Now would be the fun part of their trip, as Kaito and Sachi had another week to report back and the boat ride would only take a couple of days. Might as well enjoy themselves for a day or two here on this tourist island, report back a day or two early, and reap the rewards all the same. "Hey Sachi, where to next?" Kaito asked with a smile once he had made his way back to the younger genin.

Kaito dealt with the enemies almost comparable to that of a professional assassin. Quick and efficient, sure in his move and holding to his own. A quiet Sachihiro couldn’t help but admire yet detest this efficiency. Conflicted as always in his feelings however setting these aside at every chance amongst a battle he could very much lose his life in. As the white haired Kaito successfully launched his chakra empowered Kunai straight into the puppet master’s throat area, quickly collapsing and ceasing movement the Senju took to his own responsibilities, the sickle chained man.

They stood back up, a little disoriented but ready to fight he flailed and swung vigorously at the boy and his clone. Though he did his best to weave around his attacks trying to mirror what he had seen from his partner, he wasn’t the fastest. He successfully landed four in quick succession at the Senju. A slight from his right ear to his nose and two deep gashes across his chest and right forearm, forcing the Senju to drop his Kunai from the pain. His clone quickly taken down in the assault. In a rush of adrenaline, the boy charged at him, enduring further slashes and overpowering his way to the kids backside, wrapping his arm around his neck. Sachi was now holding the kid in a choke hold, gritting his teeth with widened eyes he didn’t know what else to do. He had held him in a deceptively powerful and panicked vicegrip, he held on as the enemy could do anyting else but gasp for air and stab at his arm as it slowly but eventually collapsed his esophagus.

“PLEASE. STOP. RESISTING. STOP. STOP” The thoughts frantically passed through his head has he now closed his eyes, the enemy now falling to his knees as his stabs now were brought to a light tap “STOP. STOP. STOP” his mind continued until the two finally collapsed head first into the ground.

The briefly steadied and level headed shinobi now arose from the corpse and was now brought to a shaken and bloodied mess. He closed his eyes at the realization of his actions, knowing he had to accept the reality and brought his shredded arms to his face. Having just realized that tears had been running down his face since the start of his battle, he wiped them off and proceeded to tend to his wounds. The adrenaline was now leaving his body and his emotions began to settle in. He was beginning to take quick but deep breaths as his panic attack subsided and he was phasing back into his regular state. He knew what he did, though he wasn’t happy he knew it was necessary. Before he could continue and linger on his darker thoughts, his partner luckily came to provide some kind of comforting aid. A relief to his rapidly beating heart now settled, he wasn’t alone.

“Y-Yeah. That sounds nice…. I’m getting cold” He silently followed his partner over the fence and to the waterfalls. He couldn’t say much and had trouble taking in the sites. Looking down at his feet the entire way and tending to his damaged arms. As they placed the sigil, Kaito kindly smiled at the boy and hinted for him to lead the way. He couldn’t help but return back the smile under tired eyes.

“How about that spa?” he hesitantly but happily chuckled.
