Verdandi was in various tutoring sessions after the suna incident. Moving from one Genin student to the next. Sometimes sneaking in a little personal sparing time with auntie Ayakashi. Squeezing in eventual dates and well, things you do when you get around to be eighteen. Spending time with her Squad. Visiting friends. Taming dragons. Staying in contact with all the newfound people from her suna adventures and trying hard to remain somewhat active at taking aunties priority missions. Verd was swamped. Too many things up her mind at once. So, she simply decided to drop everything else and do whatever makes fun today. Having heard that her elusive cousin was in town. Verd would make her way to his accommodation and sneak in a little paper bird past his window. Chuckling as she quickly vanished among the roofs of Kiri again. Letting the bird like message fly around the tight corners of Buri's window and eventually trying to splat itself against his cheek. If he dared to read what's actually in the paper. It'd be scented with a lilac cherry smell that he might recognize from a certain mission in suna. Or not. However, the paper, if unrolled had a simple message.

"I'm going to whoop your butt! Hah just kidding. I'm at the training grounds today. Heard you were around for a bit. Come and show me some tricks! Those suicide thingies were rad last time! Pretty please? I'll even call you senpai again."

The words were simple and the invitation was clear. Verd was fully geared with her ANBU armor and katana. Moving through the woods of the training grounds. Cutting some trees apart with her flawless blade. Seemingly wondering if it still counted as training if you had a katana that basically cuts through everything like paper. It was still fun to use the legendary weapon. She however had to spend a lot of time to hone it, polish it, oil and clean it after each use. Having had various instructions from the local smith as to how to treat the blade in order to retain its sharpness forever. Considering it was probably over a hundred years old. Verd had little worries in it being able to really break on her. Not while fighting against stickmen and trees. Potentially the man she invited would give the blade a proper opponent for once. In case he really showed up. Not that she expected him to chicken out on her. He was a rather busy butt. He could just as well ditch Verd for a mission or otherwise more important stuff. Big cousins were after all supposed to lead as examples. Ayakashi had continuously warned Verd that he was a dangerous one. Dandi was however completely ignorant to any of such talk. Having only one thing in mind. Being able to spar and play with an elder clansman and able to learn something from him. Days like these were the simplest and happiest for Verd. Even when Buri usually preferred to be a bit of a grumpy butt.

The warmth of the sun felt through the window felt relaxing he was only a man after all with dreams but even those who followed their own path needed a day off at least from the bloodshed and violence. But his life was something else every turn was something or someone full of wonders people he wish that could understand his point of view on destroying that is evil without being branded as a monster. That was life for him he only wished he could have lived as the others did without worrying everyday when will monsters such as the one miles away will be dealt with for now the only thing he could rely on was his own strength and conviction he was doing the right thing for everyone. He would do it all even shoulder the blame to make sure his village and the people within would stay out of danger even the one which consider herself family something he never had in his life. Thinking about her only allowed a fire to grow in his heart if she died it would mean he yet again failed to protect someone in his life something that he would never allow to be repeated in his life. In a mere second of his thoughts a piece of paper it seemed made its way passed the window followed by an attractive scent as it landed upon his body it seemed thinking about the girl brought some attraction.

“Mhm..”

Picking it up it was probably her that did this trying to catch his attention she didn’t seem to fond of the man before or maybe was it his attitude to the young girl opening up the message he clearly knew what she wanted. Making her a weapon of mass destruction seemed to be the right move but clearly she enjoyed life much more than taking the role of a shinobi seriously something he had never had time to enjoy but she needed a good work out. Death is going to be around every corner sooner than anyone can expect but he was ready he was always ready throwing the note out the window as the wind carried it off. He himself quickly leaped out the window grasping the freedom of the open world like a caged animal swiftly landing on the ground below without fail. Causing some to startle as gaze upon him as the kids would gaze upon him as if he was some sort of legend but in reality he was a monster hiding his wounds from the enemy. They all aspired to be shinobi until the day comes where they watch their comrades die that's when the true nature of being a ninja is tested for now they didn’t have to know about the hardships the looked upon the shinobi as if he was an idol. Simply waving to the children and giving them a little smile was enough to make them smile and that was good enough for him.

Turning his back to them he slid his hands in his pockets and began his trip to the training grounds were a eager young woman was waiting for him. When he last saw her she had some talent underneath his wings but not enough blood lust something that would be critical in needs that become life and death. She seemed interested in his jutsu but what he was interested in was the girl herself what made her tick how would she react under actual pressure from a person of the same skill but he had been on break from missions for a couple months now since they last met. Nothing would change his mind now if she was actually family due to the bloodline he would have no choice but to make sure she lives to see the day of peace was he growing soft and weak. Even he thought so but the fact he might have a family seemed to catch his attention more and more time went by as he buried his mind in his thoughts but his body kept on pushing without fail he found himself standing in the middle of a empty field. Where he stood with his hands in his pockets watching the clouds overhead if she was going to live it was time that he stood up as a shinobi and gave her the man who harmed his own comrade in order to escape. It was time she met the real Burittsu the man who would carry the burden of the village on his shoulders till his death.

“Mhmm..”

And with the blink of an eye Verd would come falling down the trees. For a moment she thought she would crash with her butt first right onto her cousins head but a little exhale from her lips would push a bit of wind chakra to adjust her falling pattern slightly enough so that she would gracefully land before him on her feet. Verdandi’s aura exhaled a smile and giggle that could easily unnerve people who were more of the serious type. She was the snow princess. The prodigal child of the north. She had lived her childhood in a golden cage of uttermost luxuries and protection. All of her close ones were yet alive despite the very fact that their entire home country had been once burned down and slaughtered by Hao’s wrath. Even as she entered the academy in Kiri, Verdandi had been taken in under Ayakashi’s wing, treated by her aunt as if she was her very own child. Favourism at its finest. Fed with the best type of training anyone could ask for. Living in luxurious and rich mansions that would belong to the vast and huge amount of wealth that belonged to the giant Yuki clan. Princess. Niece to the Kage. Spoiled to the brim. Countless friends and loved ones that surrounded her. Talented to a sickening degree. Given merits for her actions in combat and war. Wielding legendary weapons. Having learned the path to an exclusively powerful school of sages. Implanted with a biological weapon right into her face.

It seemed that the world itself was a moody mistress. The shining smile of Verdandi would exhale the years of purity and joy from her life. Clashing directly with the ultimate misery and pain that her cousin had gone through. The two of them could not be more different from one another and while his suffering had formed and molded him into a powerful being, Verdandi had obtained similar feats through effort and the great goddess of fortune, lady luck, standing constantly behind her as if it was an unnatural skill to be lucky at all times. Verdandi might be young and sometimes her lack of experience did not contribute well to situations like this. But whenever she looked into her cousins eyes. She knew, for the path she was allowed to take through all of her life, he who had not been granted such joy had all the reason in the world to hate her for it. He had all the reason to curse the world for making this existance such an unfair and uneven trade of goods. All the reason to despise her childish persona, to hate the spoiled brat that was within her. But for some odd reason he did not. Verdandi couldn’t know why exactly. She had no means to truly read his mind. She could guess at best. For some reason she had become important to him. For some reason she was showing him something that made him feel warm inside.

The almost annoyingly smiling brat of a princess would jump three steps forward and joyfully hug her arms around her cousin. She had honestly missed him. She felt a great deal of affection for all her siblings. Be it the strange little fox girl from the south. The overly hyped Joker boy Yoshi. The cursed and damaged Kaori from the Aisu temple. There were many of her kin somewhere in the village. Many many more even that were of Yuki blood and were not blessed… or cursed with their bloodline limit. There was Ayakashi of course too. Her teacher and master. The very person she had become a secretary for. Knowing well that the old lady was in conflict between her job as a leader and an actual affectionate family person when it came down to big cousin. Verd had no clue what transpired between them. No clue what worries were bothering Burittsu, no idea what demons were haunting him. But if she could hug him here and only coax a simple short smile from his lips. Tearing him out of his ever-brooding worries for just a split second. That would already be much worth it for her. She wasn’t sure if he would be anyway comfortable with her squeezing against him. So, to not make it all too mean for him she’d let go again and step a bit backwards. Her smile still resting on her lips as she tilted her head, it wasn’t fake. It was just… her.

“I’m like…. Sooooo happy to see you! I had like… all these crazy experiences and stuff and then in suna that Inabayama happened and like so many freaking people DIED like sticks and oh my god it was scary…. And then we went hunting them down and stuff and well… now we’re back. Uhhhh… lets just say a lot of things happened. What’ya wanna do today? I’ve been training a lot trying to figure how to use this new blade and stuff. But I got like SO MUCH to train its literally insane!”

Verdandi was one huge bundle of joy and totally the very teenager she was indeed. She of course had a way more serious side when it came down to missions and to concentrate on an actual task, Buri had seen her work alongside him and was very aware that she was probably just overhyped by seeing him and it actually was kind of funny.

It happened in a flash from her falling out a tree to quickly hugging the man but as usual he didn’t react to her kindness he just wanted to make sure at the end of the day she could be left standing. As the hug was released the warmth left his chest gazing upon her only for a mere second she already began to speak it seemed that she was just a happy person in and out of a battlefield. Staring at the female it was time for the training to begin she was just to distracted with seeing him if she was truly family removing the doubt in his heart it was time to train and grow stronger. Time was never on his side it seemed he was always jumping back and forth between people but it wouldn’t hurt to smile a little giving her some faith as he chuckled underneath his breath. Walking away from her giving some distance between the two he began crack his neck as he removes his hands from his pockets as he began to crack his wrist his mind only began to wonder if she was really up for the training.

“Happiness always seems to be in your favor never a dull moment with you... Always on your toes full of smiles are you sure being a shinobi is what you want to do most of your life?”

Her well being was not his concern but if she continued to call him family she would have to live but with her attitude she was going to be just fine with or without him in her life somethings could not be changed. For now this training was meant for him it had been sometime since he had gotten some action his way the training field could turn into a war zone any second if he really wanted the training. Placing his hands together as his gaze remained fixed on the girl it was time to begin and it would be disrespectful to keep a lady waiting especially for so long it just would not sit right with him. Quickly getting his hands up he was ready to begin the training taking his time with this one he would probably know learn new moves himself for now he was contempted on getting the girl better at fighting.

“Come at me.”

Verdandi snickers her big cousin showed off his usual attitude in a way she could deeply relate to. In her very own way she could feel the worries in his heart and could but only appreciate the burden he was willing to bear in order to give people like herself a chance of having a more carefree existence. But beneath the pile of laughs and giggles. Verdandi too had her serious side and was despite questionable goals of family and early retirements a power within her that was yet starting to seek its equal among the shinobi of the mist. Verd could see that Buri was ready. Moving into position. Fists lifted daring her to do the offense. “YOSH!” she exclaimed and put on her serious face. Her brows furrowed down as if she tried make an evil gaze which in return, given her natural expression was actually kind of cute. Verd would slowly push her weight into her knees. Fists forming and arms pulling backwards as chakra started to radiate through her body. Like little electrifying bursts the air around her would become colder. As she would exhale her breath one could see that the princess was already surrounded by a heavy dose of frost chakra. The electric sparks that emitted from her simple posture were tiny and simply underlining that she was putting enough energy into this to be actually serious about giving her cousin the challenge he had but just asked for. It’d be insulting to hold back on it now.

With a final gasp she marked the start of combat. Verdandi’s legs were heavily fueled with chakra. The passive effects of her armor allowed her to increase her movement speed to levels that equaled those of Ayakashi herself. At about 45 m/s she would flash towards her cousin and start to rain hell on him with her fists. The chakra loaded punches were strong, insanely so. As the two would clash their arms and fists it would quickly become utterly clear that her punches had enough fuel to cause an over 20m heavy knockback, to break bones and cause harsh internal injuries if they were to meet an undefended opponent. If one of Verd’s fists were to be redirected to the ground, her palm would shatter into the earth below and crack up the ground itself. No matter how you look at it. The cutie little princess seemed but to be a demon in her very own kind. Her legs firmly planted to the ground. The chakra loaded thighs ready to jump in case Buri was going to try and kick her off her footing, whilst her fists mainly aimed towards his chest. Trying to bypass his own palms that were obviously trying to defend and deflect her punches. But even as he would defend against it, every impact of her fists to his palms, arms and elbows would leave a nasty bruising feeling. Quickly pumping the contestants with the adrenaline that came along in a fight of high powered shinobi.
