N'Jobu encroached upon the Iwa-nin's space, making sure to stay a bit out of range of him to maintain his tactical advantage of using ranged weaponry intact. "So unarmed looking for safety huh," he said in a condescending tone. "Looks like you can handle yourself just fine based on the dead body lying in front of you. I don't really appreciate being lied to or having my scouting positions compromised and taken over. Just who are you and what is objective?" he barked at the Iwa-nin. N'Jobu took a moment while he was waiting for a response from the Iwa nin to access the situation at hand. It appeared the were 4 clones and one original, likely the one in the middle based on their formation. Two were in the front and two were in the back surrounding the middle one, so his theory was likely correct. He would have a difficult time trying to deal with the four clones at once, although he could use clones himself as well. He would leave the option on the table for usage once he saw just what the boy was really capable of. "Maybe I can take out the two up front with arrows or force them to take an arrow to protector the main one and prove my point..." he mused to himself. He ran over various scenarios in his head to prepare himself for the likely fight ahead even though he also did leave the option of retreat open as well just in case things went awry.

He would continue to wait to see what the boy would have to say for himself and see what information he could gleam from his response to report back to the Konoha main camp. Depending on what the boy said, he would decide whether to engage upon nin or just continue on his way back to the main camp and relay the vital battlefield information which he had acquired during his time out in the field.

Makoto had stayed further to the east as some insanely mad battle had occurred to the west as he kept a close vigil, the clone knew they were in a battle field as they were being more vigilant than ever due to the nature of the situation they were currently in as he began to wonder on ways to improve his situation, as well as increase his chances for survival. All Makoto knew was that if he did not survive he would never be able to learn or see awesome jutsu ever again as he took his time to think on what was happening at the time.

Makoto was just writing down things as he was perched up high as the other clones were also nearby as they wondered what else these crazy shinobi would try. Makoto noticed that someone was moving in the distance, but he could not make them out clearly and while he wanted to scope them out if he got too close it would make dealing with the clones troublesome for him as he still had his replacement rock much further away, though still in a range that was good for his clones.

He noticed someone approached him, but staying within a certain distance as the person looked familiar, but it was unclear as the shinobi then began to shout out at him as the clone recognised the voice and signaled one of the clones as they hid their tori hand seal by standing behind one of the other Makoto clones as the clones understood each other as the main Makoto stopped sitting down and stood up so he could be free to move.

A condescending tone was often hostile as he remained prepared as the clones each had their tanto's ready just in case. Prepared to draw at a moment's notice. He complained about being lied to, as Makoto realized the bugs must have eaten this boy's brain or maybe the boy had lost his mind as he only asked if the area was safe and was trying to get this spot. Now it seemed this boy was trying to steal this vantage point for himself and from what he saw earlier Makoto knew the greatest threat was the bow, or at least that is how he felt about the situation.

"This is my spot, go find your own!" as he decided to stay firm to his convictions, he had prepared this safe zone and put a lot of work into it. He was not about to let some strange shinobi take it away from him as he was standing his ground firmly as he kept all his eyes on his opponent as he was not going to back away as the battlefield seemed to be shaking it was clear that this spot was important for survival and right now Makoto could not share this spot with someone who tried to kill him on simply him asking to share a place earlier. His advantage came from his spot, so venturing away from it would be rather pointless as he tried to think what the best tactic would be if the enemy or neutral party chose to attack. He was pretty sure he could deal with the bow considering how many clones he had, but the bigger issue was what his opponent could do outside of just using the bow as he was still playing it safely at the time as the clones grouped closer to him. The five dice formation as he prepared to see how life rolls at him.

The Iwa-nin stood up from his spot where he had been sitting writing down something, keeping his clones close by as his body guards with their tanto’s drawn. He shouted out “This is my spot, go find your own!” in a manner which seemed firm in his conviction. N’Jobu was unsure of just what the shinobi was capable of so he approached the situation with caution. He quickly surveyed the area, looking for all of the egress points relative to his location and any potential substitution jutsu candidates nearby. In his peripheral vision, he spotted a piece of rubble just large enough to be able to use should he find himself in a precarious position in the future. He hopped to the side a few steps so that he could lean on the piece of rubble and infuse it with his chakra for the technique. His movements had the boy and his clones on high alert, ready for whatever what may come their way. N’Jobu would need to make sure the Iwa nin hadn’t collected any information about Konoha’s agents’ movements on the battlefield and he would need to ensure that he hadn’t called in for an ambush of some sorts.

He needed figure out exactly which one of the 5 boys was the real one. While he had his initial guess, he found it would be foolish to simply just believe an obvious sign. He devised a three-part plan in which he would systematically break down the boy’s defenses to interrogate him before leaving the battlefield. He would need to take down the clones first, then subdue the real one for questioning. He would test the boy’s reflexes and movements to figure out how next best to remove all of the boy’s tactical advantages. It appeared he was a close-range fighter based on his weaponry, so keeping a good distance seemed to be a reasonable path forward. With a plan in mind, N’Jobu set forth to capture the boy. He knew he didn't have long before the chaos of high level shinobi would spill over into the area where they currently were so he would need to handle the situation quickly. Worst case scenario, he could always retreat and take more valuable intel about enemy combatants back to the camp.

“I could care less about your spot, who are you and what is your mission?!” N’Jobu shouted at the Iwa-nin. He drew back his bow to full draw with no arrow as if he were to dry fire, a typically frowned upon practice but N’Jobu was no novice archer. He had a trick up he sleeve sure to catch the Iwa shinobi off guard. The Iwa nin continued to stand his ground as just as he had before, likely to be confused or baffled by N’Jobu aiming at him with no arrow on his bow. “This will make you talk…” he muttered as he summoned his insects to his hand in the form of an arrow. He let loose his arrow, aimed towards the center of the pack. Given the distance between them, it would be incredibly difficult to dodge the strike, so he figured at least one of the clones or the real one would be struck by it. Depending on how the boy reacted, he could figure out just which one he needed to attack next.

The buggy eyed one seemed to be watching him as he did the same with his clones as they began to wonder what actions he would take. He knew about the bow so unlike before his method for dealing with his opponent was now more straight forward. The opposing boy seemed to jump to some nearby rubble suspiciously as he took note to be a bit careful of the rubble as one of the clones kept tabs on it, in case some secret weapon or trap was hidden there.

Bug boys movements had Makoto and his clones on high alert as they were prepared to react at any time as soon as hostility is confirmed in any form. The hostility in bug boys voice as he stated that he could care less about the spot and wanted to know more about the mission. Makoto thought everyone would know by now that revealing your mission to unknown shinobi was something only fresh academy students would do. Makoto was fresh, but on this current battlefield if he revealed which side he may or may not be on and it happened to be wrong it could lead to unnecessary danger and a revelation of information on him, which in turn might give away vital information on his own village to say the least.

As soon as his opponent took aim that was a direct threat to his livelihood and moving right now might put a life at risk as planned his forth clone completed the technique he had already prepared the hand seal for earlier as the other clones grouped up in a smaller formation around the main Makoto. Water was spat out as those words used by the enemy gave away his intention as he said this would make you talk as the wall of water appeared in front of them blocking what seemed to be a bug made of arrows.

As Makoto thought about it he realized he was thinking in reverse and that it was not a bug made of arrows, but an arrow made of bugs as it had crashed against the wall this was disturbing as he began to wonder just what unique style was this. This also gave him the idea that he could create more ammo using his chakra as well in the future.

Meanwhile the main clone to Makoto’s right and the main one on his left side both co-ordinated as they both tossed shuriken arc’d from both the right and the left that would swerve in to strike their opponent’s current location. Meanwhile the main clone in front of Makoto prepared to attack anything moving near to him as he held the tanto in a central stance for defense. Meanwhile the clone that used the water defensive remained focused as the water wall continued to be defending from the front and the semi-circle formation meant his opponent would take a while if he tried to go around it.

Whether the shuriken hit or not two did not matter as the two clones on the sides held their tanto’s one handed style to allow them the free hands to toss their remaining kunai towards the enemy if needed. The main Makoto took note of the unique ability he just witnessed and made a mental note that he should be more wary of bugs in the future. This green cockroach shinobi was a threat to his life and on this battle field it was a bad idea to get too invested in a fight as the ground was trembling from the other battles going on around them as it seemed like they had started a fight over the one defensive spot as there was no more need for words as they were now engaged in combat.

N'Jobu watched as his arrow quickly streaked through the sky, preparing to pierce its target. As it flew, the boy moved his clones into a diamond formation, still protecting the one in the center. “I guess it really is the one in the center then…” he contemplated to himself as continued to assess the situation. Just as the arrow was approaching the clone in the front of the formation, the clone in the rear of the boy’s formation spewed forth a wave of water form his mouth outward into a semi-circle. The water then began to form a wall about four meters in radius around the boy, but his two outer clones managed to toss two shuriken at N’Jobu just as the wall sprung itself up about four meters high. The two shuriken barreled at him in opposing, arcs with N’Jobu standing at their would-be intersection.  Thinking on his feet and watching the flight pattern of the hostile projectiles, he dashed forward avoiding the two shuriken which crashed into the sand behind him. At this point he was about 20 yards away from the pillar of water and the boy inside and in range for a wide variety of strategies he could move forward with in this situation.

Realizing he would have a tough time attacking the barrier head on, N’Jobu contemplated a dual strike from above and below as the boy had all directions covered by his water wall. While he could theoretically just wait till the jutsu wore off, he needed to move quickly as the chaos of main battlefield would soon be upon them as he felt the earth quiver beneath his feet. To end it as quick as possible, he would need to catch the boy off guard if his plan was to work as he only had two arrows left in his quiver and he needed to make sure every shot would count. Clasping his hands together, he formed the tiger seal and commanded a swarm of his Kikaichū out of his body down his legs and into ground beneath him out of sight of the boy. His insects would swarm through the ground forward until they reached the spot directly underneath where the boy and his crew were currently standing. Normally, their trek underground might make a bit of a shake and give away their intent, but since the chaos of the battlefield was shaking the ground, their movement would be hidden in the background. In conjunction with his subterranean assault, N’Jobu prepared for his aerial strike which he would launch in tandem to limit the options the boy would have. He picked an arrow from his quiver and nocked it onto his bow, commanding his insects into his hands and attaching them to arrow like a string.

With his aim true, he let loose his arrow and watched it fly with great haste towards his foe. A string of beetles would follow the arrow and continue to race with it, connecting back to his hand. Just before the arrow would reach the barrier he would redirect his arrow like a puppet on a string up and over the wall to streak down at the head of the center boy, likely the real one. In tandem with the arrow, his bugs would spring up from the ground and take hold of the clone in the front of the boy and the boy in the center of the pack. They would begin draining the chakra of the clone and the boy, slowly eating away at their chakra reserves within their bodies. The insects would climb their victims leg and hold them down in place, not letting them escape from their self imposed prison.  With the suspected main boy subdued, and another now tied down, N’Jobu would wonder just what the boy would do about the arrow barreling down on him.

The opponent avoided the shuriken by closing in towards him as the archer seemed to be getting really close at around twenty meters as the two clones on Makoto's side took steps to be slightly in front of him. The shuriken were not meant to hit their target and were more a warning then anything else as the real Makoto formed the tiger hand seal preparing himself in case he had to use his own ninjutsu.

The tiger hand seal was normally a sign for fire style ninjutsu, though the opponent must know that it would not work against a water styled barrier itself as he began to think to himself. The boy seemed to find it strange that his opponent was aiming to get closer and perhaps his opponent would move from above as each of the clones watched various vantage points.

His opponent aimed an arrow towards Makoto as the clones stood close to intercept it. The arrow flew and while his defensive technique was definitely able to stop the previous arrow, so his opponent must have some other idea as the arrow flew towards him it was flung upwards with a puppet string, however it was unable to return to its coarse as the chakra string clashed with the water wall as the arrow distracted Makoto slightly for a moment.

It was at this moment that there was a sharp slash into the ground as the first clone got his legs swarmed by bugs as third clone pushed Makoto back out of the way, while the second clone got caught as well as the two clones were unable to move. Makoto found this annoying, either his opponent had been aiming to finish him with the arrow and miscalculated or he used it simply as a distraction so that the bugs would go underground and bind him from below. In that moment the forth clone was still keeping track of N'jobu

It seemed like the opponent was busy checking for a reaction as the two clones made a sound as if they were in pain, but they simply did not know what kind of pain this was as Makoto did not have time to deal with them right now. His opponent may have more arrows and he doubts his opponent would make the same mistake or tactic a second time.

Makoto thought back to the first initial attack of simply creating an arrow of bugs and blasting it at him, then for his second tactic he fired another arrow and redirected it as a decoy in the sky to capture him from below with bugs. His opponent was taking time to analyze his defense and find clear weaknesses confirmed as Makoto realized he would need to improve his defensive techniques even further in the future to account for this bug problem. Makoto would need to train his fire jutsu in order to defend him from ground based and melee attacks in the future as well as Makoto kept his tiger hand seal ready as he realized at this moment that the opponent only used bug style techniques. If the opponent could use earth style to go underground they could get him with some surprise attack from underground.

Another problem was that his opponent could probably wear him down over time since the clones were really chakra extensive, though he wished to improve on the water clone technique in the future as well as learn some other clone techniques when he got stronger. He still had not completed his fire explosion technique and he could not deal with the loss of numbers as he finally aimed his technique carefully.

He released his fire balls carefully only striking the bugs which was rather difficult, at the very least to cut them off from the underground swarm as the bugs made a strange noise as he blasted them with small balls of fire being careful not to make direct hits to the clones. This required a lot of focus as his other water clone kept an eye on the enemy as well to deal with what comes during this time. The fire burning inside making it a bit hot, but it was no problem as Makoto was okay with this as long as he eliminated the technique itself as his clones may have taken some minor damage. If given a chance he would disperse the two clones to get back what chakra they had left. Meanwhile his other two clones would focus on the enemy one focusing on his jutsu while the other held his sword in hand.

After watching for a reaction from his opponent, the two caught in N'Jobu's insect deception jutsu made out a bit of cries out in pain as they struggled to free themselves to no avail. The arrow which he shot would get thrown a bit off course after the wall of water accidentally broke the puppet strings which had been guiding his shot. After a few moments of accessing the situation, the boy used a small fire jutsu which he aimed at the legs of the others who were ensared by N'Jobu's parasitic insects. How he managed to do this without severely injuring himself or his clones had N'Jobu a bit puzzled but it didn't really make a difference. N'Jobu had seen enough of the boy's strategy to realize he didn't really seem to be taking any offensive measures. Likely, this battle would simply drag on as N'Jobu was particularly skilled at playing the long game, and his opponent seem to be content just biding his time. N'Jobu was almost certainly win this battle of attrition but it appeared that the chaos of the main battlefield was too close for his liking at this point.

The ground was beginning to shake with a bit more fervor as the battle drew nearer. N'Jobu thought about continuing the fight but he figured it would a futile exercise in terms of gaining anything. With this train of thought in mind, he lowered his bow and simply shook his head at the boy. He would remember his face for their next encounter, as next time he would certainly take him down for the annoyance he had caused during N'Jobu's time on the battlefield. With a shake of his head and a look of annoyance on his face, he summoned a swarm of his parasitic insects to engulf him as he performed a body flicker to head back to the main camp in Konoha to relay everything he had learned while scouting.

Makoto was tired as he watched his opponent lower his bow and shake his head as the wind blew through the air as the water barrier still stood strong, his opponent disappeared among a swarm of insects as Makoto looked at this beautiful display. The unique way in which the bugs went and took N'jobu away. As he watched he felt a bit disappointed and relieved at the same time as he did not understand why shinobi from Konoha were so crazy.

Makoto decided that in time he would have to be more careful around bugs as well as the idea in his head that he would need to first survive this battle and that was when he dispersed his clones to recover his chakra as he was feeling exhausted. He dropped to all fours as the water barrier was still up he heard a splash as someone tried to pass through and it looked like about four or five weak soldiers who looked tired and frustrated. With rusted blades and weakened wills they were hitting at the water barrier for some odd reason.

He did not understand what they were doing as he just waited their until they stopped to rest after which they all took out bows and started aiming upwards. This looked like it would be the end as all the arrows were aimed to get passed the wall of water as he turned to face the wall of the rock as the arrows crashed into his location as the guys continued this process for an unknown period of time as Makoto made his way up the mountain out of view of those crazed guys who stopped once the water barrier dropped. They looked around and found nothing as the rock he used as a replacement was destroyed laying in crumbled pieces as they began to search around, but for them their target was nowhere to be found. Makoto made it all the way to the top where he would hide all snuggles and safe and sound.

Makoto rested on the mountain top where he noticed there were a few dead bodies and some one saw him and just clicked their teeth and walked off not even bothering to waste time as he seemed to slide down the mountain after which there was a loud explosion that seemed to hit the ground as he saw bodies flying into the sky, unsure if he was imagining all this or if he was just too tired to care anymore. Time would go on and at the end of the battle Makoto would slip away as there was no longer a reason to stay. Just as he was about to get away he was stopped by one of the men from earlier.

"All you shinobi can go to hell!!!"

As the man charged towards Makoto, he had no ill feelings towards the weak man as he drew his tanto to clash with the man's blade as he fell back as the man slipped and fell to one knee. Even if one rested the fatigue would not simply go away just like that. It was for this reason that Makoto got up again slowly making sure to still face his opponent who just proceeded to get back up to his feet breathing heavily as did Makoto as he dashed towards the enemy as the man raised his sword towards Makoto who threw his tanto at the guy who hit it away as Makoto completed his jutsu as the army of Makoto's closed in the man was too tired to realize they were all doppelganger clones as he struck all of them he wondered where the real one was. Makoto had no time for this nonsense anymore as he ran away the guy just looked confused before collapsing to fatigue, as Makoto would live to fight another day as he ran to safety as he picked up his tanto along the way. He had no time to waste on killing a tired guy who could barely fight anymore, he had nothing to gain and attacking would mean risking his life to defeat someone who was probably weaker then him.

In the end all Makoto knew is that this was not his way of the shinobi, as he gripped his chest his heart was racing as he remembered the events of that day, the bug boy who wanted to kill him, the bandits who tried to kill him and the shinobi who nearly killed him. It was a day full of people just trying to kill him as he was not even sure who was on whose side anymore as he made his way back to the camp in order to recover and report back.
