Verdandi

D-rank
Mission name: Operation: Minesweeper
Mission rank: D
Objective: Secure the River
Location: Sunagakure Boardercamps
Reward: 150 ryo + 1EP
Mission Description: “After Inabayama, we can’t risk taking another attack without securing a path to evacuation, while we managed to weather it, there’s no telling if it was a final attempt or simply a test of our defences. Take to the riverpath downstream towards the sea. Scan for ambushes, and clear those you find… if we were to be flanked on our retreat, we would sustain catastrophic losses.”
Mission Details: Those who undertake this mission would find that the enemy had indeed thought to set traps and even small encampments along the river. Ninja who take this mission will be required to clear two (2) hazards from the riverbank, whether they be paperbomb traps, siege emplacements, camps of enemy bandits (10 D rank, D-2 stats.) or various other traps that could lie in wait.

Mission is invite only

Verdandi moved back and forth between the river fort and the remains of the battlefield. Various soldiers were still in preparation to leave, med-nin were hard at work to get the wounded ready for transport. The main path had been secured but a lot of open field and hidden dunes between the sand beds were uncleared. Verd would take on the job of Genin's up on to herself to be a plenty more efficient than any of the little newbies ever could. Splitting up into five, by adding four shadow clones, Verd would give herself a good ole nod and dispersed her 'troops' into different directions. Two north of the retreat path, two south and her own self would make way up and down the sides along the main road. She would find a ton of foot traps that she casually marked for the younger ones to come and pick them up. The paper bombs however were a different topic. Verd didn't want to risk the collector's life's by leaving them for marked pick up. She casually ignited them by tossing her various projectiles at her disposal onto the ignition seal. Cutting the paper in half and hence either rendering it useless or at worst, igniting it to blow them up as they were. Whenever the cutting apart seemed enough, Verd would use chakra strings to pull her weapons back up and off they went into her pockets once again. Thee papers, carefully kept at distance, adding to a long trail of paper as if she had created some sort of sticky line where they could cling to.

Verd wasn't a demolition expert. Hence, she would make sure to keep the potential explosives together until she had swiped the whole central fields up and down multiple times. Then tossing the remaining papers into a campfire to get rid of their remains. Verd found a multitude of holes in the sand, probably thought to collapse on contact with troops. Those mines wouldn't be left to fulfil their purpose either. Getting simply triggered by ever lightly stepping on them or tossing another one of her dozens of projectiles if needed. Kicking into the sides of the holes to let them collapse for good, as even if unearthed some clumsy people could still fall down to their death. While Dandi was busy doing the easy work however. It happened that her clones did have more adventures. Each group colliding with a north and south encampment of sunaan soldiers. Those silly little twats had the boldness to send such weakling to the frontlines just to mess with the civilians. Verd would punish this accordingly. As if in sync. Both camps were set to frozen little messes of nasty Hyouton goo as the jutsu of ice spears would raise from their ground. Impaling the first of their men, adding the certain kill spears on top of it to make things even worse. One by one, the remaining soldiers would be hunted down and slaughtered.

It was a beautiful display. Verd would for once make sure to use this as training for her martial arts skills. Or at least her clones did. Moving in, avoiding direct punches and slices to their vulnerable bodies. Moving to just gently miss the attacks. Kicking into their knees. Punching into their chins. Fist to the gut. Elbow to the forehead. Punch to the palm to disarm them. Kick to the nuts to disarm them… Knee to the face to knock them out. Whomever was left standing and still able to fight back. Would get even more joy out of the clones as they pulled their swords and started to slice in tag team into their enemies. Trying the X cross slice by using one blade half vertically and one blade half horizontally. Carving their powerful weapons deep into the skin of their enemy. It didn't really matter if she had previously knocked them out or directly killed her opponents. Once the multitude of those lowly forces were dealt with, they would be executed in the traditional fashion of the bloody mist. Their camps lit a fire with some simple exploding tags before the lot of them would swipe one last time the north and southern defence lines. It was at last, time to return to Verdandi. Dispersing next to her to return the memories of their adventures to Verd and their experience in some hand to hand practice as well. Verd was certain that training at all times must be honed. But for now it was time to move on to the next assignment.
