Shatterpoint:

Kaze no Kuni, a land currently torn in conflict and drowning in turmoil. After the destruction of Sunagakure no Sato the land of wind has fallen into the hands of bandits and other forms of low life criminals, the four remaining ninja village's have since moved their forces into the country to quell this rise in criminal activity. Like the rest of the Shinobi hailing from Kumogakure no Sato the boy had traveled here under the orders of his Raikage, however unlike the other shinobi from the hidden cloud village the young shinobi had his own reasons for wanting to come here. Despite the fact that Raphael had risen through the ranks of the shinobi within the hidden cloud village, his career as a shinobi had started on the very sands of this desert as a genin of the village hidden in the sand. Despite the fact that the Kozai clan had their compound in the land of wind and held strong ties with the hidden sand village, the boy himself never felt strongly about the village nor did he care much about it when it fell choosing to leave his past behind him and focus on his own future by moving to Kaminari no Kuni and the hidden shinobi village of the lightning country Kumogakure no Sato. This did not stop the boy from feeling sorry for those of the hidden village in the sand who had lost their home or lost the ones they had loved in the fall of the sand village, the truth was that alot had changed in the past year, not only for the land of wind but also for the young Kozai heir. Since the young boy left his home country he has proven his ability as a shinobi under the banner of Kumogakure, when he had heard of the Raikage's plan to bring order back to the land of wind the special jounin quickly signed himself up to help the cause. Raphael's only wish was for peace to return to his former homeland, as such the young special jounin was doing whatever he could to help bring that peace to the people of Kaze no Kuni no matter what. The fact that the Kages of the different villages did not see eye to eye on how to help the people of Kaze no Kuni did not matter to the boy as his only goal was to help those that were still trying to survive here. The problem was that these criminals were underhanded sneaks and worked hard to cover their tracks and those that worked for them were willing to die rather than betray their bosses, they were either extreme loyalist or just plain stupid in the boy's opinion.

Raphael let out a wide yawn as he stretched walking out of his tent, yet another day in the land of wind for the young special jounin. As the boy made his way through the Kumogakure border camp an increase in activity caught the young shinobi's attention causing him to go see what all the fuss was about. As he drew nearer to the entrance to the Kumogakure border camp Raphael saw the growing mass of cloud shinobi, unable to understand what was going on from the back of the crowd the young special jounin pushed through until he came to the front. "That's right, a group of unknown origin has set siege to the Kirigakure border camp," came a voice calling out to the crowd, "we are currently planning a strategy to help them." The man continued as questions and concerns from the other shinobi began to fill the air, Raphael on the other hand did not waste anymore time concerning himself with questions or the administrations plan for sending help. Instead the boy took off out of the exit to the Kumogakure camp heading straight for the Kirigakure border camp, he did not know how much help he would be against the unknown enemy but he did know that the sooner he got there the more help he would be able to provide. Raphael had never been much for planning strategy or anything like that, he was more of a man of action and he understood that the longer the higher ups debated about what to do about the situation the higher the chances were that those moving against Kirigakure would succeed and he could not let that happen.

'It seemed their presence had not gone unnoticed.‘

Ayakashi stood at the tip of the spear that braced itself against the walls of the floating border camp that centralized Kirigakure's position in the region. How the attackers had managed to bypass their forward bases as well as their patrols in such numbers, Ayakashi was yet to know. However, what seemed to be evident was that the forces that accosted them on the heath at the neck of the river were plentiful. Ayakashi was powerful, it was unlikely any of the opponents here that swarmed the walls were on such a level that they would be able to strike at her successfully. The issue was their number. The forces that attacked had the head-count to occupy the Mizukage, breaking around her and still attacking the ninja defending the camp with extreme prejudice. However, the Mizukage would make them pay for their tenacity in numbers.

"FIST OF THE YUKI ONI!"

Ayakashi would let out a cry, slamming her fist into the ground as a violent wave of frigid force would splash out across the crowds around her. The power of the wave freezing everything in its path into little more than a statue-like visage of the bandit that had once been. The following shockwave from the force of the punch expanding in an aftershock, shattering the men and women that Ayakashi had frozen in place like crystal into glimmering shrapnel that sat among the sands. The Mizukage was left in the center of the sphere of influence, the ground beneath her feet as little more than ice; as if the Demon Ice Witch had bought the coldest of winters from the nation of Kirigakure with her. But the gripping cold would continue to spread outwards like a venom, clutching at everything that it came into contact with as it would crawl along the earth ensnaring its victims by the dozen as they would seek to charge forth.

In the slight wake of the combat, Aya would have her bow in her hands, letting out a controlled breath as she would focus her will into the tip of her arrows. The same cold running through them once again as she would pick pockets from the vastly more dense populations of enemies. Opening her eyes, Ayakashi would dodge the cross-bow bolt leveled at her chest allowing her right shoulder to fall backward to stand side-on as she would fire a single hyouton empowered bolt. The arrow would carve a line through the enemies, sending scores falling down as Ayakashi would hope to control the enemy that continued their assault.

Flowing with the recoil of her bowstring, Ayakashi's hand would move behind her, allowing her to spin, reaching into one of her pockets and producing several small sharp black objects. Fanning out the handful of shuriken, the Mizukage would let the ice empowered shuriken fly, allowing her power to deliver decisive ends to more than got in her way.

'But it seemed there was no end of their assailants.'

The walls, for now, appeared to be holding, no gaps had been made in the phalanx that sought to protect the soldiers and other kirigakure citizens that lay behind the wall. All the while the Mizuakge's fury, as well as the fury of a chosen few,  took their battle to the plains. Dozens were dying with each attack, but the numbers of the trained forces that assaulted them were staggering. Ninjutsu could be seen flying through the air, however, the barrier formed by the combined defensive unit of the ANBU black ops was not something that could be penetrated easily. So it was the battle would continue... the Mizukage levelling everything in her arsenal to overcome the enemies that dared to strike at Kirigakure's heart... but what was their plan? Was it just to send men into the meat grinder? Or was there something else? a deeper menace and logic to this strike that Aya had yet to discern?

"Men! Hold fast! we have another wave incoming, but dont fret, help should be on the way soon!!!"

She hoped, at least.

Raphael almost could not believe his eyes as he topped the sand dune, there were hundreds attacking the Kirigakure base, the young shinobi did not realize just how coordinated the enemy was. To rally an attack against one of the great shinobi villages was not something to take likely, the boy knew that much and he had expect the to be a large number in the assault. However for someone to coordinate this many they would have to have a lot of influence over these people, to the level of a kage or if its even possible more. These men and women in the attack had to know that this was a suicide mission, at least for most that is, there was no doubt in the boy's mind that this assault would fail but he was still curious as to who was behind this and how they had managed to get so many to charge towards their deaths. Though his mind began to fill with questions the boy knew he did not have time to think about them, quickly push those thoughts to the side the special jounin focused on the task at hand.

The boy stood to the North west of the army putting him both behind their lines and a little to the side, allowing him to go unnoticed to the attacking enemy so far. From his vantage point on the sand dune the boy could see the barrier that showed that the ANBU of the mist village were holding strong and still able to defend the border camp in the distance, how the longer this onslaught continued the more likely it became that the enemy would be able to break through. Raphael saw a flash in the distance drawing the boy's attention to the frontlines of the battlefield, he could not make out what it was but something up there was causing a lot of destruction wiping out large scores of the enemy. Not wishing for the unknown warrior or warriors to have all the fun the young shinobi charged forward from the sand dune channeling his chakra into his core as the young shinobi pulled his Kaminari Steel Windmill Shuriken from the strap on his back, in one swift motion the boy opened the windmill shuriken as he released it from his hand sending it soaring through the air towards its targets. Reaching into the pouch on his belt Raphael began unleashing eight of his Kaminari Steel Shuriken to follow suit with the windmill shuriken, through unlike their counterpart these shuriken would not return to the boy, though the did not need to as the only thing the boy could really do was kill or at the very least injure as many as he could while he had the element of surprise on the enemy. He was alone in his assault on the back half for now so whatever he could do to break their formation would have to be sufficient until more help arrived, with any luck that would be soon as one man against an army would not have an ideal outcome for the young shinobi.

Once the shuriken had been launched Raphael held his left hand up to his mouth as he released a breath of his wind chakra into his hand, pulling back a ball of spinning wind in his left hand. As he launched the first wind sphere from his left hand the boy place his right hand to his mouth giving breath to another sphere before launching it as he created a third sphere in his left, these spheres were not exactly deadly but with any luck his aim would fly true striking the targets in the head for the maximum damage they could inflict. Raphael was almost upon the back of the attacking force when his windmill shuriken return to it's master's hand, the boy catching it as he begun to spin in a three sixty before releasing it continuing it on its trajectory as if he had not caught it, the inertia of his own spin increasing the speed of the windmill shuriken as it flew through the air slicing more throats of the enemies the boy faced. The young Shinobi charged through the masses of enemies attacking as many of them as he could, this of course began drawing the attention of the forces causing them to begin to swarm the boy. With the large number of enemies surrounding the boy, Raphael released a burst of wind around him sending all those that were close to him flying backwards away from him. With the wind burst giving him some space the boy charged wind chakra into his leg, waiting until they were close Raphael crouched and swept his leg releasing the built up chakra into a powerful whirlwind. As the whirlwind formed distracting the enemy force the young special jounin quickly formed the tiger, dog, and rat handseal the boy began moving in quick bursts around the area leaving after images of himself as he moved to strike the different opponents that came within his reach.

'What keeps you awake at night..?
Nothing... I keep others awake at night.‘

Object power was something that few people ever got to see in their lifetime, and even fewer were able to survive after it had been witnessed. To many, Ayakashi was the pinnacle of object power, however, she always felt like there was another star to reach to. There was always another skill, another lesson, another opponent just over the horizon that afforded her a new and higher mountain to reach the peak of. Once she stood at the summit of that new skill, she would look out over the barren landscape of bodies left in her wake, the sand made of the ground down bones of countless enemies, lakes and rivers flowing with the pulse of their blood. Yet, no matter the cost, this new vantage point would always reveal another frontier to be conquered. Siege warfare was something that Ayakashi had experienced before, but, not in an offensive fashion... not like this.

Raging through the battlefield, the Demon Ice Witch was waging a war like none had ever seen before. Her jutsu activating one after another, a bolt of lightning cascading towards her as she would feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end, spinning with an outstretched hand, a glowing gauntlet of platinum steel outstretched refracting the blast into several enemies as the war would wage in the mean-time. Grabbing the silken lasso that was tied around her wrist and removing it, Ayakashi would flow her chakra into the tip of the rope-dart she had at her disposal. Hurling it in a line through multiple opponents before pulling it back, ducking a blade and removing the hooped end of the wire and clasping it around the rivet in the center of her Fuma shuriken, betwen two of the blades.

'they want to see what I can do? Very well!'

Gripping the Fuma Shuriken, Ayakashi would leap over an enemy, entangling the wire around their neck and pulling, hurling the shuriken that was attached to it in a short boomerang pattern. The spinning blade winding in the string of the wire tightly as Ayakashi would duck, now holding the dart as her new improvised yo-yo's handle and sweeping out the legs of another fighter, shattering them on impact as they came into contact with her extreme cold. Leaping upwards and connecting another soldier in the side of their head with a spinning round-house kick, shattering their head. Her Fuma Shuriken having cleaved a small semi-circle out of the enemies that she had launched it towards before, consuming the trail of the wire it would meet the neck of the enemy still tightly tangled within it.

Reaching out a hand, Ayakashi would collect her newfound weapon by the ring... "Time for Calamity." She would utter under her breath as she would hurl her Fuma in a straight line as far as it could go, hewing through enemies like a buzz-saw without hesitation before whipping the string to a side, altering the Fuma's path as it would return to her hand aptly, allowing it to be thrown yet again. Spinning it in place at her side she'd whirl it around her body in a tight 360 to gain some distance from her enemies, catching it with the cord wrapped around her before pivoting and hurling it wider in the reverse angle. Leaving little more than corpses in her wake until three wind and four fire users teamed up on Ayakashi, each of them facing her and surrounding their target, inhaling and firing all of their jutsu in close range.

Ayakashi was obscured from sight for a moment before the jutsu that collapsed on her would explode in a violent fire cyclone extending to the heavens. Until the base of it was broken by a powerful concussive force, a black spinning orb where Ayakashi had once been shattering as the bodies of the ninja around her would fall into pieces from the speed of her rotation spinning the wire attached glaive around her... an attack faster than their eyes could see. Few enemies were attempting to attack the Mizukage now, to them she was a monster, a demon, she had shattered the morale of the enemy and several of them were turning to run save for the bravest amongst them... but it was too late.

With the sound of a war-cry, operation shatterpoint had been enacted, Aya could hear the battle from the backlines of the attackers, as more seemed to bodyflicker into the frey from a distance, they would see nothing but the distopia outstretched before them. The truth of the matter was, Ayakashi had been little more than a living blender in this fight. Like lambs to the slaughter, these ninja stood little chance against the Mizukage and her equipment. Ayakashi would pause for a moment, looking back at the help that had come, seeing faces and armor that she did not recognize was new to her... they seemed to be from Kumo? What was hastur up to? Extending an olive branch perhaps? something more? Or was it simply the act of men and women that heard that a camp was under attack and saught to aid them in their quarrel?

Whatever it may be, Ayakashi welcomed the aid.

The young special jounin would of been out matched under normal circumstances by the sheer number of enemies, however through the help of his after image clones he was able to hold his own against the overwhelming odds stacked against him. Moving at speeds unmatched by others of his rank in addition to his own prowess with taijutsu the boy was dealing with any one and every one that came near him and thanks to the slight cover granted to him by his clones the enemy was not having any luck striking him as he would avoid one attack while attacking another from a different location. Tossing out metsubishi and smoke bombs to blind and disorient his targets, the young special jounin took out another group of enemies. This however was not nearly enough, no matter how many of the enemies forces that seemed to die at the young shinobi's hands more just kept coming. The boy began to feel as if his help was not going to be enough, that he was wasting his time and possibly going to lose his life if they kept coming at him. Was it possible that the boy had over stepped, was it possible that he underestimated this opponent and that charging into this battle would be his death sentence. The boy's mind raced with questions and doubts all of which was not suitable thinking for a warrior in the midst of a battle, his focus was split causing the boy to slip up missing a chance to move out of the way of a strike and getting knocked flat on his ass effectively ending his after image clone technique causing his clones to fade away. Three bandits stood over the boy posed to strike and end his life, for a moment Raphael was sure that he was done for.

That's when it happened another shockwave from the frontlines, these had been happening every few seconds. The young boy could not see what was causing them, but he could feel the power that eminating from them. Even from the distance he was to the frontlines the boy could feel the residual power left in these shockwaves that he felt, it was a power unlike anything he had ever felt before. The three bandits standing over him felt it too, drawing their attention away from the young shinobi they had surrounded and towards the front lines. The boy used this distraction as an opportunity to get back on his feet and get back to work, quickly reaching into his pouch the boy pulled out a small metsubishi egg throwing it into the air to go to work. With the three men effectively blinded trying their best to get the pepper, ash and glass from their eyes the boy lept back onto his feet pulling a Kunai out and slicing their throats ending the lives of the three. The boy then continued to attack the enemies using his speed to keep himself a few steps ahead, Raphael would use everything in his arsenal to cause as much damage and destruction that he could to the enemy forces. He may not be doing much in his eyes but if he could just continue to keep up for a while longer, maybe just maybe the group of shinobi that was creating this large scale of power would weaken their morale. So the boy waged on giving it everything he had and then some, soon the enemy forces between the source of destruction and the boy lessened and Raphael got his first glimpse of what was the source of power he had been feeling from the shockwaves. What he thought was a united effort with multiple shinobi was actually all the work of a single woman, Raphael did his best to keep an eye on her as he continued fighting those that surrounded him. He could not believe that a single person could hold such power, and then he saw it, the word Mizukage down the back of the long black cloak as the woman continued to cause destruction upon the battlefield. It all made sense now, the Mizukage Lady Ayakashi was a fierce fighter as well as a well respected shinobi, even in the village hidden in the clouds where she is revered second only to Hastur. The boy marvelled as he watched the Mizukage work, at least the parts that he could keep up with, as the woman moved at a speed that the boy could not keep up with. She took out enemies faster then they appeared, it was as if she was a one woman army and needlessly to say the boy let out a sigh of relief that she was on his side, or at least he hoped she was. The boy could only hope that he would not get pulled into the mizukages path and meet his end at her hands when he had come there to help.

Raphael seemed to have forgotten that he was in the middle of a battlefield, having been watching the Mizukage in action the boy lost all focus once again. No longer was the boy moving or attacking he was simply standing and watching the Mizukage work, the young shinobi would pay for this mistake as an enemy soldier ran towards the boy from behind stabbing a Kunai into the boy's left shoulder, driving the Kunai in even further as the man tackled Raphael sending him once again to the ground. The young shinobi cried out in pain as the Kunai pierced into his flesh as he fell to the ground with his assailant on top of him, the boy thought his time on the battlefield was about to come to an end. Raphael felt the man pull the Kunai from his back and lift up to strike again, he knew there was only one thing he could do to save himself if he could do it in time but that's when the most unexpected thing happened. Raphael felt the weight of the man's body shift off of him, turning around the young special jounin found the man slumped over with his head missing followed shortly by the collapse of other enemy bodies around him. Looking around Raphael saw the cause of the man losing his head, it was a Fuma Shuriken attached to a rope looking to its source the boy saw none other than the Lady Mizukage. He did not know if it was by chance that her actions saved him or if she had seen that he was in need of the help, none of it matter as the boy did not wish to waste time wondering lifting himself back to his feet the boy formed a string of five handseals creating a large dragon tornado of wind around himself. This dragon was more than just a defense for the boy as it also allowed him to flow techniques through it as well, quickly giving breath to wind spheres the boy launched them through the mouth of the dragon causing more disarray among the enemy forces as he did not want to waste the chance he was given when the Mizukage saved him whether it was intentional or not. The boy stood surrounded by his dragon protector as he continued to watch the destruction caused by the Mizukage, she was more than the stories he had heard of her in Kumogakure, she was unbelievable. Raphael would not let himself be distracted again continuing his own attacks using his dragon in combinations of his other techniques to help the Lady Mizukage as best he could.

The boy's dragon guardian was struck by a couple of jutsu, however they did not seem to weaken it, at least not that the boy could tell quickly turning his focus and his dragon upon the sources that attacked him. The boy could see the morale of the enemy was weakening as they laid eyes upon the destruction caused by the Mizukage and the dragon of wind seemed to help in that fact, but there were still those that continued the assault. More attacks came at the boy and he knew his dragon could not withstand them all, seconds before the impact struck the dragon the boy channeled a burst of chakra from his core sending him to safety away from the enemy attacks. The boy worked his way through the fray striking at the enemies as he moved closer towards the Mizukage, weaving through the enemy forces crippling them however he could as he moved whether it was a Metsubishi or a shuriken or a punch to the face.

"Lady Mizukage, I know this is not the best time to talk, but I am here to help however you need." The boy said using his whispering winds technique to travel the words over the short distance from where he was to the Mizukage, the sound of battle would only make it harder to hear but with the help of his jutsu his words would reach her without a problem. The boy continued to strike down any enemy that came near him as he spoke to the Mizukage keeping his ears open should she respond to his comment though she did not need to as he knew what he must do. The boy's superior speed and reaction time compared to his opponents were the only thing keeping him in this fight but he would not stop, he could not stop.

'A dragon wasn't something the expected‘

It was obvious that the battle was coming to an end, the forces that had attacked the fortress had been broken in two due to the attack from behind, combined with the Mizukage scattering forces in the middle and the ninja from the fortress as well, put the would be attackers on the defensive. They ere trapped, there was very little that they were able to do now... But that wasn't the end of the plan. Once they were boxed in, the Mizukage would enact the final phase of her counterattack. Holding up her hands she would form chakra into them, raw, not intended for any technique. She would perform six handsigns as the combat would rage around her. Ayakashi had no need for hand-signs, she had no knowledge of ninjutsu or any other form of combat which would require them. But... her opponents didn't know that. Expecting a jutsu of catastrophic proportions to be summoned, the banditos would back off for the brief moment it would require for their world to come crumbling down all around them.

In an actual fact, Ayakashi knew she would be being watched through sensory techniques from ninja behind the barrier, kirigakure worked like a well oiled machine, and the second that she began to formulate chakra, there was no doubt that eyes would be on her to see the simple sign language that she had performed as an issue of an order to those who witnessed it. Without hesitation a large portion of ANBU would perform the body flicker technique, pushing themselves out of the conflict and to the other side of the veritable arena, behind the lines of the reinforcements. Each of them widely spread out and facing inwards as they each began to channel their own internal chakra. Handseals in unison flourishing deftly in their hands before another expanse of colorless chakra would expand to what seemed to be the horizon. The effect would enrapture the gawking stares of the missing-nin that had attacked them while a second larger barrier formed around the battlefield, trapping them in the center once the charge had finally ceased. Doton users willing to use the reverse decapitation technique to burrow into the sand and erupt into the combat zone that was now little more than a slaughterhouse.

'They were trapped.'

It was then a voice would break through the silence, the words of another ninja offering aid to the Mizukage. Her smile would be quaint, thankful under her mask until she saw where this ninja had come from. Kumogakure. Hastur had sent aid after the attack it seemed, it was a bold political move, of that Ayakashi was certain. But she wasn't about to neglect or shy away from the foreign aid in the meantime. The two of them would have to do a bit of talking later to ensure that this was not some form of act that the Raikage expected to be repaid in the future. Ayakashi would nod under her mask before speaking in stern neutral tones. "They're locked in, eliminate all you can, but attempt to capture their leaders if you can identify them, that way we can interrogate them later." The edict would come across as cold, with a metallic tinge in her voice which would be obvious to be a factor of the mask. Whatever its purpose as armor, it flattened her tone as she spoke and elimintated any perception of emotion through it.

But the battle wasn't over. With the second barrier erected, the enemy forces within were like cornered dogs. They became rabid and unfocused, many of them worrying about their own survival as they would seek to break ranks and fight with everything they had. It made them dangerous, but it enabled the highly skilled teams of Hunter ninja to be able to pick them off one by one as they fled the protection that a mob enabled. Ayakashi would still attempt to seek out clusters of enemies that had huddled together in strong formations, knowing that she would be able to act as a battering ram that no-one else in her country could likely match. Picking one target and bulleting for it with everything she had, throwing a fist into a ninja with such force that the shockwave alone would send six others flying in every direction. The chakra enhanced strength of her blow would be enough to carry the victims on the wind, slamming them into the earth with fractures and breaks if they were unlucky.

But soon enough it seemed, the battle was beginning to come to a close, as powerful as their force was, it had shattered and only now were living victims even beginning to be taken by the kirigakure forces. Not as prisoners, but as potential informants, with sentences to be extradited as soon as their worth or the cause of their insurgency had been determined. There was a chance there was foul play involved, but, ,Ayakashi could already tell by some of the crossed out hitiate, that many of the ninja within the ranks were former sunagakure nin that had chosen to go rogue after the fall of their country. It was a damn shame, but it seemed that they had decided that their nation was going to remain theirs, and regect the aid of anyone else who even so much as set foot on their sacred ash of a nation. It was a damn shame... Although, with a heavy sigh, Ayakashi would move to seek out the ninja who had come with the reinforcements. They seemed like they would be chatty enough, so, in roaming around the battlefield she hoped to find them. Hoping on some level, that they had not been killed in the assault.

Should she come across them, she would hold out a hand, her other moving up to, while not remove her mask, fold up the faceplate that covered the lower half of her face, allowing her to express herself better, while simultaneously being prepared for anything that might come her way as she would begin her greeting.

"Hey, you there, Kumo nin. I, feel like I am obliged to thank you sincerely for your aid, it was a grand help, however, may the two of us talk for a moment? While the battle is winding down? Come this way."

Moments after she finished talking one of the higher ranking rogues who had been playing dead would raise their head, spying the mizukage and attempting to slink closer and closer before leaping from their hiding spot, crossbow in hand and firing the bolt directly for Ayakashi's chest. In the blink of an eye, the man was pinned to a wooden garrison foundation that had been broken and sticking out of the ground. His own arrow piercing him to it through his shoulder... what had transpired having not for a moment for anyone in the area having so much as seemed to occur. No-one here was capable of seeing ayakashi snatch his bolt out of the air fast enough with her right hand and spinning with it, casting it back at him underhand like a dart as the impact shattered his collarbone and threw him against the stake that jutted violently from the ground.

'A dragon wasn't something the expected‘

"Shall we?"

The battle had reached its climax, with most of the forces now nothing more than dust in the wind at the hands of the Mizukage and the help he had provided the Kiri forces were able to move behind the enemy lines and created another barrier. The attacking forces were now trapped, Raphael had been so enthralled by the battle he had not even notice the second barrier until he had made it to the kage. And by the look on some of the faces of the attackers they were just now realizing that they were trapped as well, though at the same time others either did not reach this same conclusion or they still believe that they could break through the Kiri forces. Whatever the case may be it did not matter, now that they were stuck inside the barriers it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

The boy's thoughts on the matter were interrupted by the metallic voice that the boy could only assume was the Mizukage, the orders were clear and after she had given her edict to the boy she quickly went back to work destroying the enemy forces. The will of most of the attackers were all but broken, some accepted their fate while others still tried to fight. Those whose will was not broken yet, were being dealt with by the Mizukage and her forces so Raphael focused his attention on the stragglers that were still trying to cause trouble. The boy knew that he had expended a lot of chakra in his attempt to help break the enemies formation, and the strain it put on his body would be noticeable to those with a trained eye. However with their formations now broken the boy need not strain his body further with the use of chakra, he could take out these stragglers with his taijutsu and be more than a match for them.

As the battle wound down, the stragglers surrendered and the Kiri operatives moved into continue the process of taking those into custody, or killing the ones that were not important. Raphael decided he would see if there was anything else that they might need help with as it seemed that the Kiri Anbu and hunter nin now had the situation under control. It was then that he saw the Mizukage again, her approach to the boy was like that of a conquering hero but she surprised him when she offered him her hand and lifted the bottom half of her mask to thank him for his help in the battle. Though to him he was not sure if he was actually able to help as much as he had intended to, there was a much larger force than he had expected but he would not shy away from the thanks. Raphael returned the hand shake, but before he could answer the Mizukage's question about speaking together the boy saw movement in the corner of his eye. Turning to look just in time to see the man pierced by an arrow into a broken battlement, he was not sure what had happened but the man was not a threat and so the boy turned his attention back to the Mizukage. "Um.. Yeah.. I mean... Yes, Lady Mizukage we can talk. I am at your service. You can call me Raphael, and really there is no thanks necessary these low lives are a threat to all of the villages work here in this land, I am simply doing what anyone would do." He finally managed to stammer out with a smile though his mind still question what had just happened with the man getting pinned to the battlement like that he tried his best to focus his attention on the lady Mizukage, after all he knew better than most that when a Kage gives you an audience no matter who the kage might be you do not under any circumstances turn it down. He was not sure if he was going to be interrogated by the Mizukage or welcomed as an allied, but after seeing her on the battlefield he knew it did not matter. Her could not resist her whether ally or foe she was stronger than any other shinobi around, and even then the only shinobi around other than himself was the mizukage's subordinates. No it was best for the boy to talk with her about whatever she wished and then hope that she would allow him to leave, and with that though in mind the boy moved to walk with the Lady Mizukage and follow her as they talked.

'And so the scene set behind them...‘

Cries of desperation would attempt to echo out over the horizon, cut short by the formation of the barrier which sealed them all in save for a few stragglers who, knowing that the battle had come to a decisive end turned tail and ran for the hills. Ayakashi would place a hand on the shoulder of Raphael as they continued towards the side of the battle, not being able to yet move through the barrier which protected the base but at the very least able to move past the lines of the battlements. Ayakashi's hand toying with the rope-dart at her disposal in case an enemy managed to somehow break rank and make a surprise charge for the two of them. However, it seemed that her hunter ninja was more than capable of handling the rabble in this particular case. Looking to the Kumo ninja, he seemed to be well trained, he was at the very least skilled in the art of ninjutsu while his body certainly looked toned and apt for combat. Meaning that he had worked on his body in the arts that a martial artis would appreciate.

"What I had hoped to discuss with you was the matter of this war, it's become immediately apparent that the sheer numbers of ninja and bandits that remain in the sands vastly exceed our expectations, we were wondering if you had, had any similar reports within Kumo's boarders. I'm aware that you're Kage is looking to vassalize the nation, how has he fared in the task? We had hoped to make targetted attacks on bandit leadership and rogue ninja we could identify, but it seems that it's been a limitlessly ascending mountain we've yet to reach the pique of. Or the summit seems only to reveal another mountain in the distance." Ayakashi spoke, not revealing her eyes yet, least they betray her intentions. Aya's questions were two fold with the special jonin. The first was attempting to slither in a question for intelligence that only a Kumo ninja would know about his country to that of a potential rival, but in a manner that Raphael may not expect. The second was as a hopes to gauge the numbers these bandits seemed to have in reserve.

If Kumo, and for another term Konoha, had received similar warnings, the nation of Kumo's missing ninja problem seemed to run deeper than they could have ever imagined. Which would lead Ayakashi to potentially believing that one of the 4 ninja nations was perhaps funding the radical element with their own ninja. Arming the criminals to annex the nation through a future alliance after concreting Sunagakure's separation from the ninja world. The thought was unthinkable, but there were a few nations that were capable of doing such a thing. The Samurai steel nation held in its reserves limitless forges that could make the weapons and armor that were being used, but it lacked the ninja to fill the ranks. Leaving one of the three other great ninja nations to be the culprits... With Hastur himself being somewhat of a rogue element himself, suspicion would begin to fall on him immediately.

'Not that she hoped she was right'

After asking Ayakashi would wait and attempt to gauge Raphael's reponse to her query, would it be indifferent and honest? Would he suppert his kage? Ayakashi was certain that Hastur would boast about his achievements regardless to the nature of how well or how poorly his conquest of the sands had been. But a fact of the matter remained that he was a powerful man whom needed to be monitored one way or the other until everyone was certain of his intentions.

Raphael felt a chill run down his spine as the Mizukage placed her hand on his shoulder, twirling her rope dart as she lead him past the battlements. The barrier still being up kept them from being able to completely move far from the battlefield, the boy was glad that they were able to get away from all the bodies that scattered the sands. "Well we have accomplished a lot since our arrival here, clearing the path so to speak for the new order to begin, though in all honesty I cannot say that we are at the point that the Raikage wished for us to be by this time. His plan was to have control of a good majority of the land by now, but it has not all gone according to plan. I can not say that we have gone without opposition, I myself have dealt with groups of bandits or other forms of low lives. There has also been those of the former sand village that have opposed us, but not something on a scale such as this. The those that I have interrogated have not given any indication of working with others or that they were working on a level such as this, it appeared to be everyone fending for themselves as several people grasped for power trying to recruit for their own goals. I honestly had no idea that they were capable of amassing such a large force, let alone have the coordination to use it in an attack against one of the villages." Raphael paused, looking out across the body ridden battlefield that laid before them. "I suppose it would be something worth looking into," the boy said blandly almost as if he was thinking out loud. As he spoke the words his eyes widen as if another thought popped into his head at the same time, "I have done some of my own recon tracking down some of the bandit camps. I have been wiping them out as I found them, but I have a couple that I haven't hit yet. It could be possible to scare them into retreating, rather than killing all of them or trying to interrogate them. Maybe by scaring them I can track them to where they would seek shelter if they were attacked, and with any luck it could lead me to the ones pulling the strings behind the scenes for you."

The boy would turn to face the Mizukage, realizing that his brazen words had suggested that he could do something that the Kirigakure shinobi and hunter nin had been trying to do since they arrived here in Kaze no Kuni. "I do not mean to sound to forward nor rude, Lady Mizukage and I know you have no reason to trust me. However I will ask you to believe me when I say that I only want what is best for the people of Kaze no Kuni, I do not care about territory or claim to glory or whatever else the Kages are doing this for. I believe these criminals and low lives to be a plague on this land, and I wish to do what ever I can to help rid the people of these plagues and get them under proper protection." The boy would finish still looking at the half masked face of the Mizukage, it was nearly impossible for the young shinobi to gauge her reaction to his words. The most he could hope for was that she would not be offended by his assumption that he could do what her subordinates could not do. The boy was confident in his abilities and it would show on his face, though not arrogant it would still be easy to tell that his words were his truth and he fully believed he could do it.

Ayakashi would listen to each of the words the boy spoke, it was true enough that Kirigakure had, had an amount of trouble with these people as well. However, perhaps not the same issue as a nation seeking to convert its people to the thinking of their Kage. Hastur was a golden godlike being with a charisma that was almost regal to those who heard it, but with a shout like thunder should he become angered. If he was displeased with how the conquest of the nation was going, Ayakashi feared what may come to pass if he entered the frey himself... though, she doubted he would unless pressed by some manner of extreme force. Looking to Raphael, Ayakashi would nod thoughtfully as she considered his words, but could not help but snicker at the thought of his plan. Not because it was bad, but rather because it had been one of the actions her Hunter ninja had been pursuing for some time. Leaving a survivor to track them to their next hideout was a classic plan. They boy was young however, and indeed he had a long way to go in ways of experience.

"Sounds to me like you wouldn't have been a bad hunter ninja. I do believe that's a sound plan indeed. If you've been having trouble then the waves haven't been aimed just at us then... which worries me. Go and tell Hastur that I believe these renegades have some form of backer, someone is uniting them behind the scenes. This is close to a ninja war more than an aid effort. I'm sure if we stayed here long enough and threw enough resources into our stay, the tides of enemies would crash against us over and over before whittling down over time. But such an action could take years, and there is no telling the toll that it may take to do so. There have been words of a few key players in the enemies ranks. I would look to focus on them if at all able. But, for now, i have to focus on my village and our operations. I would like to thank you for everything you've done here to help, I'll not soon forget it Raphael. Send my gratitude to your Kage, and perhaps information on my supposition to there being power behind the throne... I have to take my leave."

Without so much as another word, Ayakashi would vanish from sight, speed so extreme that the eyes of the ninja beside her would not be able to keep up as she would move back to the battlefield to aid in the capture of some of the bandits which had been chained and readied for transport. The battle was finally winding down, the barriers around the base as well as the outer most one had been lowered. The ANBU that were maintaining them moved to secure their hostages for the mean time before they would all meet trial, and likely, a rather pitiless execution. There were ninja clearing the bodies as well as ANBU looking among them for any kind of information or leads they could find. Not sure on where or what they were entirely looking for, they would claim family heirlooms and other items of interest or identification they could get their hands on, something as little as a locket at least gave them a person of interest they might be able to search for.

As for ayakashi, it was a job well done.

The boy heard the small snicker of the Mizukage, though he could not tell it if was because she thought him to be naive or what exactly however her small mention of him making a good hunter ninja lightened his demeanor. She spoke of the problems the nations have faced as well as what they will face if they remain, the boy could not help but to agree with the Mizukage's assessment of the situation this truly did feel as if it was going to turn into a long war between the nations and the remnants of the land of wind. After the Mizukage left the boy looked out across the desert sand that was covered in bodies that was the battlefield, so many lives lost in this battle and yet the boy had a sinking feeling that this was not the extent of the enemies power. In fact this felt as if it was a test, a set up for something bigger that would see to the destruction of all the nations if it was not stopped. The young shinobi let out a sigh as he began to head back to the Kumogakure border camp, his thoughts upon the Mizukage and her actions on the battlefield. The boy began to wonder if a war was to break between the hidden cloud and the hidden mist who would win, would the Mizukage be able to deal the death blow to the Raikage or would the Raikage be the end of the Mizukage. Then the boy's mind wondered to the thoughts of how much the two nations could accomplish if the Mizukage and Raikage addressed these issues together. The boy made a vow to himself as he looked over the desert sand of the land of wind, that he would do everything in his power to see that peace was brought to the land of wind and that it's people would find safety within it's borders. The boy shook his head and took off for the hidden clouds border camp, he had a report to file as well as a message to give to the Raikage about what had happened here and the Mizukage's belief that someone is pulling the strings.

Once the boy was back at the camp he wrote the message for the Raikage and handed it to a courier to deliver with haste, after which point he returned to the deployment tent to discuss with his commanding officer his plan to help rid the land of the dangers that stand in all of the nation's way.
