Just another day in the desert. Nothing marking the time but the heat waves that passed through. Kisei glared toward the window as he fanned himself with a small notebook. Despite his efforts to persuade Alpha to construct a cooling system for the house both Ushinatta can agree to the blazing temperatures. 'I "haven't gotten around too it."' That's crap, Alpha could whip up a professional grade room cooler out of, well, anything. Look out though if he decides to go big. I'm not too sure how the native population would take being trapped in an eternal winter wonderland.

Kisei sighed as he resigned himself to his research in the desert heat. Jumping onto the bed with a thud and quickly stripping to his boxers. Right now he was studying chakra mechanics and how it could transform into different elements. For the most part it seemed to follow what Kisei already knew from his tinkering with chakra tech. Interesting, even across space in time chakra remains unchanged. Might be a good question to bring up with Alpha. Alongside his books on the nature of chakra various novels of the various clans of 'humans' on this planet. The majority of them covering the populations of the Sunagakure. It was unlikely that he would be facing any ninja from other villages soon but just in case he made sure to order a few books ahead of time. It was a strange thing really, just how far humans could stretch out from their original DNA code. All because of this thing called chakra. But does it actually change humans over time? Producing a pencil he started scribbling down his thoughts.

Studying on how these clans came to be it follows many patterns with the Theory on Natural Evolution from World-Omega (home world). Chakra manifests in many differing effects and aspects of it tend to stick to the user over time. A family specializing in converting chakra into fire, Katon, as they call it here, will find themselves more attuned to the element after several generations. However that doesn't take into account the benefits of increasingly in-depth training and the growth of their pool of knowledge to draw from. Although this becomes more clear when-

Kisei winced as he shook out his hand cramps. "Damn I hate when that happens." he grumbled. He spent a minute messaging and resting the appendage before continuing with his notes.

-you look at the examples of the famed Kekkei Genkai, abilities passed down genetically, the evidence becomes much more clearly recognized. Certain traits are picked up over time in an isolated population, noze types, hair types, and so on. Selective breeding, (ha, breeding), can cause these inherent traits to manifest strangely. The Yomotsu for example are a clan exhibiting a number of beast like appendages. Sharpened fangs, in-built arm blades. But... these changes have even more far reaching effects. One I'm really interested in being the creation of different elements. Our Sumiko clan is renown for their scorching flames, and our Sabaku clan has the ability to manipulate sand. I think there was a Kazekage with that ability some time ago but my knowledge of Sunagakure history is rather poor. More observations on the changes brought out from the use of chakra will have to wait. For now, I think I'm just going to enjoy my time reading.

Kisei dutifully organized his space as he closed up his journal, gently caressing the spine of the book. The Ushinatta was honestly fascinated with how similar the fundamentals of chakra of this world were with the inner workings of chakra tech he and Alpha forged. Interesting how such a unique and diverse energy as chakra was no different from his old world. In that perspective, it was no surprise that the native populace had also weaponized chakra. Damn barbarians-

“I’m coming in.”
Alpha knocked on the door.

Kisei’s eye shot wide as he instinctively pulled the covers over his near nakedness, scattering his books and journal with a yelp and cry. “Don’t come in!” While the brothers were close there were still quite a few boundaries still existing between them. Ignoring his younger brother’s plea the green haired Ushinatta entered the room. Eyes scanning the organized mess that was Kisei’s private quarters before landing on his skittish brother.

He spoke with barely constrained humor to his sibling’s compromised situation. “You know if you really wanted privacy we have a basement for that, and these doors have locks right?”

“Yea yea just tell me want you want already.” Kise growled

His brother just chuckled for a moment, that damned amused look in his eye pissing Kisei off to no end. “Well get changed after you finish up-” a hand wave to the bed. “-Whatever you’re doing and meet me outside.” He finished with one last wink, “Take your time.” before walking out and closing the door with a soft click. Kisei immediately growling his frustrations out into the soft pillow under him. He was having a great time up here in his room, what did Alpha want that was so important that he had to drag him outside? Well, he’d be finding that out soon enough.

“So what did you drag me out here for again?” Kisei moaned. The day was particularly bright and overbearingly hot and he wanted nothing but to go back inside the house and finish his notes, but nope, nope. He was out here about to do higher power knows what with his brother. Kisei with as much enthusiasm as he could muster ‘cheerily’ waved his umbrella at the green haired Ushinatta.

“Well drop the umbrella and I’ll tell you.” His brother commanded. Oh well sure thing since you asked so nicely. Kisei knew he was being childish but he was being dragged out into the desert on a perfectly perfect day to be indoors. Oh course he was going to be sour about it.

Doing as he said I thrust the tip of the umbrella into the sand. The satisfying grind of soft grains under the hard steel made him shiver. He looked up to his brother and in both of his hands were twin wooden swords. He nonchalantly tossed the left blade to me. I tried to catch it but I just ended up swatting it to the ground. I bent down to collect it, then when I looked up Alpha had this smug expression on his face. “Graceful.” He praised. I told him to shut up.

“Well anyway I called you down here for a bit of practice.” Alpha explained. “You see, well, I’m kinda embarrassed that I haven’t made much of an impression on you, hence…” He gestured to the swords they were wielding and perked a slight smile. “Training.” Well, shit.

“Keep your guard up!” Alpha swiftly delivering a down stroke. Leaning deep into the strike. I held the side up to guard and our swords met in a crack. Alpha pushed up of his leading foot, switching his grip with his thumb wrapping the bottom of the hilt; yanking his sword back to give him forward momentum as he pushed off of Kisei’s sword. The young Ushinatta turned back and was met with a smooth tap to the head. “Tag.” Alpha said flatly, his disappointment clearly evident. I threw the training sword sword on the ground and fell down with it. Alpha had been relentless in this ‘training’ session. They’ve at this for hours and Kisei just felt like passing out. He had no idea what had gotten into his brother, or what he did, to warrant this kind of punishment. What? Did he leave the lab door open, forget to lock the prototype weapons storage unit? Did he leave his bed unfolded one too many times? Who knew the real reason behind all of this but Alpha, and getting him to talk was like decoding- and… too tired to think…. Any more… The edges of his vision began to blur and for a moment he felt as if he were about to pass out. His head was swimming and the world kept spinning...

“Hey.” A strong voice commanded from the darkness. Kisei’s eyes snapped open and he was confronted with the concerned look of his brother hovering over him. His eyes shifted their gaze above him, trying to make sense of the ceiling above him. Oh, he was inside now.

“Sorry about the training, I guess I went overboard didn’t I?” His brother sounded concerned. It was so puzzling to the younger Ushinatta. “You were about to pass out and I brought you inside. Stay right here, I’ll get you some water, oh and if you need the fan higher or lower just ask.” His brought finished, walking calmly into the kitchen before the series of crashes and clutter echoed around the room as his brother, presumably, rushed from cabinet to cabinet to find a glass to pour some water in. Kisei chuckled dryly. Alpha didn’t get out of his lab enough to even navigate his own house. Humor aside he was feeling exhausted. Today’s training took a tole on his body and right now he just wanted to sleep.
